Welcome to Exit the Matrix Stories of Success with your host Jane Slack-Smith, where we celebrate the incredible journeys of individuals who've transcended their limitations and achieved extraordinary success.
Hello and welcome to week 35 of Exit the Matrix with me. And now today I have Darren Hey, Darren. Hey, how are you, Jem? I'm good. And for those people who are going, wait a second, I think this is a repeat visitor, you are completely right. Way back in the beginning, I think it was like week 2 or 3, I was like, who do I know who are experts in book writing, have their own books, have assisted others in creating book juggernauts? And I went to Darren and we talked all about books. But Darren, you're here in a whole different capacity today.
Yeah, yeah, we've got a few extra things to talk about.
So for those of you who don't know Darren, I have to say, his resume kind of reads like someone who should be 600 years old because you're sitting there going, okay, he was a millionaire by 29 and then he did this. He's had homes around the world. He's worked with some of the greatest names we've ever seen. He helped Dr. John Gray build like a $100 million business and then a billion-dollar coaching business. And, you know, he's amazing in real estate and all of these incredible things. But the reason that we're talking to Darren today is that he is also a trained hypnotist. He has been acknowledged as one of the fastest rapid transformation hypnotists in the world, which I'm assuming means, Darren, that you can pretty much put people into a state very quickly. Is that right?
Yeah, very quickly. Yeah, pretty much.
Okay, so be careful, listen intently. You never know what's gonna happen at the end of this. So here we are in this book writing experience and, you know, I'm exploring what is it to live a life of abundance. And we kind of moved through this messy middle of the fact that people get called back from the adventure to the familiar and, you know, what is abundance? and all of the tools is where we're moving to now that people can use. And what really struck me about the Success Library that you've created and the tools that you share with the world is that most people have a limit on what they can achieve. Maybe money, success, self-worth, and, you know, they're telling themselves stories.
Mm-hmm.
And as we've learned over the last few weeks is that These stories are written in your head and they could be lies. But what intrigues me is that there's a way to rewrite these stories and hypnotism is one of these ways. So I want to know, how does hypnotism do this? What, what is it to start with?
Well, I think, well, great question. And I think many people want to be successful, right? You know, there was actually, you know, if I was, when I often run events or when I have done events before, I always ask the audience, I say, you know, are you operating at 100% of your true potential. And reality is most people aren't. And there was actually a recent study done, and that study was they asked people, what do you want most out of life? And most people answered that they wanted more success. Now, success means so many different things to different people. So some people wanted more success in their career, some wanted more success in their relationships, some wanted more monetary success, you know, financial success. Um, you know, there's so many different levels. Some wanted more, obviously, success in their health. All right, so I actually believe that it's all of those things, and plus one other thing is living life on your terms. And I think, you know, so that way you can live a life on your terms with do what you want, when you want, with who you want, you know, because you can actually do that. And I think that what most people don't realize, there's 2 main things that hold people back. And the first thing that holds people back is Self-sabotage, which really boils down to fear, right? They fear they've got some sort of fear that's holding them back, and so they sabotage what it is that they truly want. And the second thing is, is that not thinking big enough or creative enough, right? That's the second thing, right? They they limit you know what it is that they want to achieve, so they don't think big enough or they don't think creative enough about what it is that they could have in life. And I think what both of those things, the one, the self-sabotage being the fear and not thinking creative enough or big enough, both link back to your unconscious mind. Right? So that's an internal process. So whatever you want to create out of life or want out of life, you have to work on the internal part because really, Your inner mind or whatever just reflects, you know, the outward world reflects what's really happening on the inside for you. So if you don't have what you want, then that's reflecting back to you that you need to change some things on the inside, right? So you can then create the external world that you really want.
And so it's an inner game first.
It's an inner game first.
You can't have the external until you work out what's going on.
Yeah, absolutely. So definitely an inner game first. And for me, when I was younger and wanting to, you know, follow in the footsteps of other successful people, I went to, like you, lots and lots of seminars to learn from different gurus to find out about different things. And one of the things that I found was speaking to them, eventually I became one of those people that was on stage speaking. And so, but I'm a lifelong learner. So when I would be in the green room with some of these other celebrities or other you know, people that were speaking on stage, I would always ask them, okay, well, uh, you know, what did you do? What was the secret for you? You know, the thing that changed you the most? And, and one of the things— I was with Deepak Chopra and Dr. Wayne Dyer, and, um, you know, he's passed away now, Wayne, but we were speaking at a metaphysical conference, and I said to him, you know, what was the big thing for you? And he said to me, he said, oh, you know, the inner game, you know, definitely work on, you know, the spiritual side as far as, you know, energy flow through the body. So he told me about some books and things and I went on that journey. So I traveled to India and meditated with the monks and saints and learned all about energy flow and things like that because that was an inner game. You had to learn to meditate. And then, you know, when I was working with Tony Robbins, I realized, well, Tony, you know, what changed him to be able to be the amazing guru that he is was working on his own mindset. And he learned the art of neuro-linguistic programming, NLP. And I thought, well, you know, who did Tony learn from? So I went and then found Tony's teacher of that and then went and learned from him. He was named Dr. Richard Bandler. And so Richard trained me then on NLP because he founded that, uh, and he— and I noticed that Richard really used a lot of hypnosis, uh, in conjunction with NLP. And I went, well, who did Richard learn his hypnosis from? So then I went and sought out that person and learned the hypnosis straight from the source of some of the great masters. And some of them passed away now. And, and so I realized that Using all those sort of personal development tools, hypnosis was one of the fastest ways. And Richard said to me, he said, yes. So he used NLP, created that as a form to be able to shift people's mindsets, but hypnosis got you there faster. And so then with all the spiritual stuff that I'd learned, I went, wow, this is really an internal inner game. So if you can master that and hypnosis could get you to those altered states much faster, so you could make changes that were lasting and permanent. really quickly, you know. And so that's—
Can you just define the difference between NLP and hypnosis though? Like, hypnosis gets you there faster, but NLP was based on hypnosis. Like, what, what are they?
Yeah, well, NLP, neurolinguistic programming, is basically, uh, was worked out by Richard as a mathematical formula to— people sort of do certain things in certain patterns, and we have certain ways that we process information. One of them is a visual sense. So we use visual senses, some process auditorily, and some process kinesthetically. So somebody processing visually, well, they often make pictures in their mind, right? And they might hold the picture out here, and typically they tend to breathe from the top of their lungs, so talk really fast. And they like to look good, right? They'll use words like, uh, let me show you this, or look really good, or—
You know, watch that baby fly.
Yeah, watch that baby fly. You know, they see it, so it's a visual process, and they tend to, you know, look up with their eyes when they're processing things. You do that really well. So, so, um, anyway, so they process fast, right? So fast thinking, make pictures. Somebody processing auditorily, they tend to be a bit more, uh, slower paced, more, um, not as fast, and they tend to When they're talking to you, they have their head tilted sideways because they're lending you their ear. Right? And they'll use auditory words. So auditory words like, oh, that sounds like a good idea. Us talking on a podcast.
You know, so listen to this baby purr.
Yeah, let's talk more about this. You know, da da da. And so that's the style. They'll their preferences from a learning style. And then you have somebody that processes kinesthetically, and they they will often look down. not necessarily, uh, look at you because they're processing it through their body. So they have to feel it. All right. And so they're gonna use words that, you know, I'll, you know, get a good gut feel about you, Jane, and this podcast is gonna do really well because it just feels right. Right. So there's all about the feeling. And if you're, you know, we have all 3, but you have a primary one that you use, right? So And that's NLP that understands the visual, auditory, and kinesthetic styles of people. So it's a language.
So essentially what that means to me is that if you know the style you are and you can then by talking to someone know the style they are, if you're trying to romance them or sell them something, you're like, I'm going to talk in this language because it's going to resonate more with them. So it allows you to have a higher degree of connection because you're Actually more aware of them rather than just yourself.
Absolutely. It's a way of creating deep rapport at the unconscious level because when you are, whether you're selling something or connecting with somebody to build a relationship, build rapport with them, whether that's romantic or whether that's, you know, from a business point of view, people like people like themselves. So you can connect at a different level. And, you know, I remember a time I was buying a new car and I was buying a Mercedes-Benz and I went into the dealership. I already knew what I wanted and I went in, I said to the salesman, I said, hey, you know, can you show me the new black sports Mercedes? And he said, oh, okay. He said, why don't we sit down and let's talk all about it first? And I said, no, no, just show me the car. You know, I just want to see it.
All right.
So I'm processing visually and he's saying, oh no, we'll talk all about it and tell you all about the safety features and the performance and all these things. And I said, no, just show me the car. Anyway, he said, no, no, we need to sit and just talk all about it first. So he's breaking rapport with me at that stage, right? Because I'm processing visually, he's processing auditorily, and he's not matching my style. So there was a whole disconnect, and I got frustrated. And because I was on a timeframe, you know, that I had, so I said, oh, don't worry about it, I'll just go to another dealership. Now, they're the same price at every dealership, so it didn't matter. And so I started walking out of the dealership And anyway, the sales manager seen me walking out and thought, oh, obviously that customer's, you know, walking off, that something's gone wrong. So he cut me off at the door and sort of said, oh, is there a problem? I said, yeah, your salesman's a dickhead. Well, sorry. And, and he, uh, he said, oh, what do you mean? I said, well, he broke rapport with me. I came in here to buy this car, it was a $150,000 car, and He wouldn't show me the car. And he said, well, what do you mean? I said, well, because he obviously doesn't understand VAK, visual, auditory, kinesthetic processes to build relationships with people. And I could see a bit of a glazed look come across his face because he didn't understand.
Are you gonna tell me that you ended up teaching all of his salespeople?
I did, yes. And I got $30,000 off the car.
I love it.
Good. So, and their sales, just understanding that principle, doubled. They actually went from selling 6 brand new prestige cars a month. That's what their top salesman did. The following month, he did 13, and he'd been doing 6 consistently for 2 years. So it doubled their sales process for the whole Mercedes dealership in Melbourne. And so I got a glowing testimonial from Mercedes, obviously, and I got a great discount on the car. So, but it was just, you know, understanding that if you want to build relationships, and everything we do in life is about connecting with people and building relationships, and the best relationship you want to build it with is yourself. Because you've got all these parts running around inside your head, which is the unconscious mind, and How I often explain this to people is if you've— if I use a metaphor to explain it for the people listening as well, is if back in the olden days you had pirates and pirate ships and things, and if you had a pirate ship, you had the captain and you had the crew. So who's in charge? Is it the captain or the crew?
Captain.
The captain. That's right. So he's in charge of the ship and tells the crew what to do. However, if that captain treats his crew really badly, back in the part of those days, you got a what? Mutiny. Mutiny. That's right. You had now who's in control of the ship?
The crew.
The crew. That's right. So all these little people running around control now the ship. And for the metaphor is your conscious mind is the captain, but the crew is all the unconscious parts inside your mind.
Mm-hmm.
That are running around telling your heart to beat, to telling you to, you know, have a good immune system, to tell you, you know, to do this or that, right? So that is the unconscious. And when you deal with anyone, that's who is making all the decisions, is that unconscious parts, the crew, right? So unless you have good rapport yourself with yourself, meaning the conscious mind and the unconscious mind, means you are gonna procrastinate. You're not— you're going to have things where you go, I really want to do this on one hand, but then there's a part of me that says no, you shouldn't do that because you might fail and then you'll look silly, so I won't do it. So people often have parts in conflict at the unconscious level, so that holds them back from being successful in whatever it is that they're trying to achieve. And that's because of an internal conflict with themselves. And so whenever you're dealing with anyone, you want to be dealing directly with their unconscious mind. So you need to look through past the conscious card that people have that you're talking to and build relationships with the unconscious part. And that's what keeps that deep rapport. Well, one of the ways of doing that is using the visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. So you're matching their style because now you're matching them unconsciously.
And even the mirroring of the body, right?
Like, yeah, exactly.
Yeah, extra little things that you can do when people go, that person just gets me.
Yeah, I really know.
Manipulation. Are we manipulating?
No, because if you went to another country and let's say you went to, uh, Italy, yeah, would you not learn a little bit of like hello, thank you in their language to build a rapport with them, to be able to be courteous and respectful?
Yeah.
So you're just being respectful to that person.
I like that because I, I kind of, you know, 20 years ago, you know, NLP was all the rage and I was like, oh, and people like, you should come along to these You know, talks and seminars. And I, I felt it was a little manipulative at the time, but the way that you've explained that now, I probably missed out the last 20 years of being able to connect with people consciously. I've been doing it unconsciously.
Yeah, but you know, it's no different if you pay someone a compliment about their hair or their makeup or their dress or their clothing. You're, you're wanting them to feel good. Yeah. And you're connecting with them. Is that manipulative or is that Yeah. Respectful. So this is just the same thing. You're using language to be able to build that connection and be respectful. And so that you've got a deeper connection where they will open up and share and they'll open up and perhaps share, oh, look, these are my fears or my concerns about your product or course or whatever it is. And now you've got a chance to overcome them or help them through that process.
So how do you use this on yourself?
Well, firstly, you want to have rapport with yourself. So you, you do an internal process, and I have some of these in the Success Library, where you go in and you build that relationship with your own unconscious mind, all right, first, so that they're all working together. Because at the moment, they could be all doing their own, own things, right? They all have an agenda, which is to You know, keep you safe, protect you.
Protect you.
But, you know, one part might be saying, well, I'm going to keep Jane safe by saying she can't go out and do these, you know, adventurous things because she might get hurt. And there's another part saying, well, I want Jane to be happy and experience life to the fullest and have these adventures. So now those 2 parts are going to conflict, and whoever's the strongest one is going to win out. And, okay, stop Jane from going out and doing that, you know, thing she wanted to do. So one part, you know, but if they're aligned, then they do what's best for Jane as a whole, because now all those parts are aligned. So they'll say, well, how can we give her that experience that she wants and keep her safe at the same time? Because we've got the same aligned goals.
So really, basically, What you're doing when you're making this conscious decision is you're saying, I'm the captain, I'm going to go in and have a chat to the crew because now I'm recognizing the crew and I'm bringing them on board with the direction that we're going.
Yeah. So for me, like if I was doing an event or something or talking with a client, I would say to my, my conscious mind would talk to my unconscious and say, okay, we're going to have this meeting. I want you to You know, look for ways that we can build a great rapport with this client. How can we solve their problem and how can we add value to them? That'd be another part. And there might be another part saying, well, let's leave a lasting impression so that they're blown away by the, you know, the content we deliver, whatever it may be. So I'm going to get all those parts working on all different elements for that meeting. So when I go to that meeting, I know that It's going to run really smoothly because I've got my whole crew there going, oh, I'm going to do this, I'm going to do that.
And so is that where hypnosis comes in, is actually talking to the crew?
Yeah, because that's just a form of hypnosis, self-hypnosis.
Okay, so tell us what's hypnosis now.
Well, hypnosis is just an altered state, right, of consciousness. So You know, everyone goes into hypnosis before they fall asleep at nighttime, right? It's just a natural rhythm that you go into. So it's a, you know, just before you go into a deep sleep, you're in the hypnotic sleep part, right? So we have all these different, um, patterns like brain waves that we have. There was alpha, beta, delta, and they're just different layers. So if you were meditating When you go into that sort of more relaxed and meditated state, that's effectively the hypnotic state. So you're just going into that where your brain is able to focus on things and get to the core parts of the unconscious and communicate with it. So that's all you're doing is you're putting yourself into that altered state.
I have so many questions just based on what you've been saying, so I'm gonna, I'm gonna go Rewind back for a moment because there's a couple of things that I've been sitting with recently and two comments that I've been processing, which I think you have alluded to. And right in the beginning, we're like, what's the definition of success? What's the definition of abundance? Everyone has a different definition, but there seems to be this similarity where people go, I want to do what I want. want, when I want, with whom I want. I want freedom.
Hmm.
And I was challenged with this concept recently because I was listening to Dan Coe and he was saying the only reason that people say they want freedom is that they have been sold into a storyline that they never created. You know, get it, go to school, go to university, get the job, get the wife and husband, get the house, get the mortgage. 40 years later, you can retire on 40% what you earned. And they're like, I want freedom from that because it's a constraint that society set that they didn't set for themselves. But then they get money and retire and they're like, well, too much freedom. I need purpose.
Exactly.
So I just want to explore that, that sense of— because you've worked with some of the most elite athletes, politicians, royalty in the world. Is this— is the— is it almost like the childish notion that we want success and abundance, where in actual fact what we're after is a life by design, by ourselves, on purpose for our mission? Like, I just want to understand that a bit more.
Yeah, I think, yeah, I think, yeah, real success is not about monetary things or whatever. It's about being, you know, happy with who you are internally and doing the things that you love doing, you know. And so what that looks like for each individual is different. And so I think people, yeah, buy into that whole false thing about, oh, well, you've got to earn this much and then I've got to have these sorts of cars or I've got to have this sort of flashy lifestyle or whatever. That doesn't I mean, you're successful. I mean, I've met some really wealthy billionaires that were absolutely miserable, had more money than anything, but they were absolutely miserable. And, you know, they weren't fun to be around, you know.
So it's like sometimes I drive through the suburbs and I think there's people in these houses who, you know, went to school, got a trade, fell in love with their childhood sweetheart, married them, and they're just getting on with life, and they're so happy and successful. Like, you know, it's— I don't understand that personally. And I look at it going, gosh, you know, we, we are almost, uh, educated to want more. You know, we want the excess of what we don't have. But it rarely, in, in my experience of people I've seen, Does that satisfy them? It's like, oh, there must be another level now.
Well, I think also it's looking at, well, okay, what's behind it? Some people say, well, I want more money. Well, why do you want more money? Money is just a bit of paper. You want what money can perhaps give you, you know, and whether that's freedom or it's, you know, trips or it's something else, it's the emotional benefit that they're really looking for.
Yeah.
And so you really I remember, I think the first time I really truly— I mean, I got caught up with that when I was younger. I was striving and making money when I was young. And I had Mercedes when I was really young and things like that. And the day I realized I'd really made it or been successful was when I didn't need any of those things to be happy with who I was.
Yeah.
Right? That I didn't need that car to prove that I was successful. I was happy to drive any car. And, and I think I had that experience when I went to India. I remember sleeping on a concrete floor and eating rice off an old newspaper in my hands at this ashram that I was at, um, with learning all the spiritual stuff. And I went, wow, that was amazing. And the week later, then I was with John Gray and we were doing these talks for the India Times and we were in these 5-star hotels super flash and things like that. And I went, well, you know, I was just as happy sleeping on the concrete floor, eating rice out of, you know, out of a newspaper than what it was at these 5-star restaurants. And then I realized, okay, now I feel like I'm successful because I don't need all those things because I'm happy with who I am and what I've done. And, you know, That, I think, is one of the keys, is if you're happy on the inside, then what happens is you attract even more into your life. But you need to actually go inside internally.
Inner game first.
Yeah, inner game first. Once you've got that, then all the outer wealth and success and all these other things happen. You know, like I got to work with royalty and all these sorts of things because I was already comfortable in who I was, and I don't need to go and brag or put out all that I've done, all these things. Half the people wouldn't know it. Like, you know, you've told people, but I don't go and talk about those things. But I don't need to, where some people have to because they're still trying to be successful or trying to prove themselves because they're not actually successful on the inside.
And I guess that's because they are comparing themselves to the success of others rather than being self-referential and going, how do I feel? Like, this is— I think that's the distinction. When you're, I've got the car, I've got the house, people are going to look at me now because I emulated someone that I admired and they had that and here I am. Whereas people who would get to a certain stage just sit there and go, well, I'm pretty happy and, you know, the car's 5 years old and whatever. And I know, true, I know, you know, you're in property as well and Goodness, you know, in your business coaching and the wealth courses that you've run around the world, etc., my experience has been when I ask people what's their goal, like in property investing, what's the goal? And they're like, I want to have $1 million. I want to be a millionaire, which is basically the asset value minus what you owe is the $1 million. And what struck me was that a lot of the clients I worked with who became millionaires, there's not a bell that dings and goes, okay, you've won. Your properties have gone up in value, your loans have gone down, therefore you're a millionaire. Like a lot of people get way past that point of what their goal is and they still try striving and working and working and they missed it.
Yeah.
And even to the second point that you made way back in the beginning and you said something like, We limit ourselves to what the possibilities, because all we can do is compare ourselves to the people that we know.
Mm-hmm.
And so, you know, we're like, if I can have $1 million in the bank, you know, I'm gonna be happy. Whereas if we were unlimited and, and, you know, going to the spiritual side, stepping into the unconscious of everything, We are actually then limitless in going, yeah, why constrain ourselves to $1 million?
Yeah, that is exactly right. I mean, it's, you know, your current situation is basically a true reflection of your inner worth. And so if you haven't got the lifestyle or the money or whatever it is that you want, then that's a direct reflection of you. And what you're being held back by, which is internal. So you change that internal picture, then you have, you know, infinite possibilities, you know, to create whatever it is you want.
Okay. So there's another, another thing I've been sitting with. I was listening to a neuroscientist on, um, there's a podcast called The Telepathy Tapes. And, um, and he was talking about consciousness. And he was saying, you know, we talk about trying to be the observer of the observed, but so it's the, the knower of the, of the known, and there's the knowing process in between. And, you know, there's this greater collective of consciousness, and, you know, you talk to people about the Kabbalah or whatever, there's consciousness. At some stage, all the souls decided they want to have an individual individual human experience. And we are having this human experience, but through meditation, hypnosis, we can actually access past the human experience to this collective of knowing, tapping into much more. Is, is hypnosis— hypnosis is a path to that? Like, we're going beyond just the subconscious, aren't we? We're stepping into the spiritual—
Yeah.
side of the work that you've done in India and everywhere, but it goes further.
Yeah, hypnosis really opens up those pathways, and, and it opens you up to channel in different thoughts and processes. And, you know, it's one of the things that, um, when you, when you get into hypnosis and you get into those altered states, it allows you to tap into universal thoughts and energy that flows in. And like that infinite, you know, possibilities of what's out there in the world, where that's really what clairvoyants do. So, you know, people that go to a clairvoyant or whatever, and they sort of tell you about things about yourself or whatever, and some people are blown away by that. Well, really, all they are is really accessing a different higher energy frequency that they're tuning into, like a radio frequency. They've just tuned their their intuition into that, and they're picking up on things that really are thoughts or processes that are coming into you. And so by going into hypnotic sort of states, you can tune that frequency yourself to now to attract more, or to, to, you know, discover new things about yourself or others, or the, the universal thought process, you know, that's out in the world. for ideas. You know, the more you open yourself up to that, the more creative you become as well.
And I think the— you mentioned Wayne Dyer and this energy flow. And I know you did a lot of work in India and you've talked about saints. Like you've seen some pretty crazy stuff that goes beyond what humans think. Do you want to just talk to that for the moment?
Well, yeah, I guess one of the things that I when I was working with John Gray, he, he went on a search for somebody that could help heal his eye because he went blind in one eye. And the doctors, medical doctors in America, and he had the very best that he could afford, and they all said, no, we can't do anything with your eye, one eye, you're blind. And he didn't like that process, so he went on this journey, um, around the world. Literally, he went to the pyramids, he went to all these ancient cultures was looking for healers, somebody that, you know, would work at a different level than normal doctors to help heal his eye. And he experienced all these weird and wonderful things, but one thing he found out about was an Indian saint in India called Swami Kaliwasa. And anyway, he had been shown to be a young saint that was showing the Western world or showing the people how miracles were created. And he would perform miracles in front of people. And so John flew to India and spent time there learning from him and had him heal him and got his sight back with his eye. And so he was obviously hooked then from—
So this guy taught you how to do your own miracles?
Yeah. Yes, that's what he does.
Okay, fill us in. What's the process, Darren? Like, is this like a 3-point trip?
No, you got to do a lot of meditation. Okay, so, so, um, so there's like— so the whole process with this, but, uh, it was all about actually understanding energy, and energy flows into the body. And so he was showing you how you can manipulate that energy to, you know, actually to heal things. And you know, roses, for example, have one of the highest frequencies on the planet as far as energy. Even Tony Robbins talks about this now in his seminars, and they've measured this, right? So it's scientifically based. And so when you understand energy flow, then you can bring it into your body. And, and you know yourself, if you've gone into a room and you're with a whole heap of negative people, you come out feeling drained and negative, or because of their negativity, right? They've But if you go into a room where it's all upbeat and positive and people are positive, then you feel better. It lifts your energy. So it's something you can't see, but you can feel it or experience it. And so when you learn some of these techniques where you're bringing energy in, and one of the ways to do that is through using hypnosis because you're tapping into it a lot faster, then you can start meditation. Yes. Even though meditation, uh, is really good, hypnosis just takes you there much faster and deeper. So you can make then changes and see them, you know, happen really quickly, you know, in your life. So we've had that, you know, at our events and things like that. People have, you know, gone into hypnosis, made some changes, and then all of a sudden, you know, they've ended up with— I had one gentleman ended up a client out of the rang him up and said, oh, I'll partner you in this new business venture, I'll give you $600,000. And, you know, before that, he was bankrupt, you know, and he just made those changes unconsciously. And a week later, this person came into his life and gave him $600,000. So there's stories, we've got lots of stories like that. So really changing the internal just accelerates everything on the external.
Yeah. So there's a Where's this intersection between science and spirituality? Like, how, how—
I think science is still trying to catch up.
Hi, it's Jane here, and I'm just breaking in for a moment. Now, if you're enjoying this conversation, and why wouldn't you, it's amazing, you are going to love the Exit the Matrix community. Now, this is where all the thought leaders I've interviewed come together. There's tools, AI courses, teachings, Things that go along to support your journey as you exit the matrix. Just go to exitthematrix.today/ETMwithme. Right, back to the conversation. It does seem that way, doesn't it? Most people are trying to out— how to think their way into abundance and success and fulfillment. And really, it, it sounds to me like the more people I speak to, there's this gratitude and enlightenment is actually the ultimate goal. And, you know, this awareness of their spiritual self. How does God— does God play a way— the definition of kind of God or creator source play?
Well, I think that, yeah, I think, well, I think you, whatever people's beliefs are, whether it's God or a higher power or universal, whatever, it doesn't really matter. I think that there is something— I believe certainly there's something bigger out there universally wise than all of us, and tapping into that. And one of the things I learned when I went to India was that this Indian saint, he, he had all these different statues around his ashram. He had Jesus there, he had Buddha statues, he had all the Indian sort of statues. And he said, oh, he said, there's different types of gods or deities, you know, that, that people worship. He said that they're all, they're all coming from the same place. So it doesn't matter whether you worship Allah or you worship, you know, the Christian side of things. They're all just different entities that have this energetic power to help, you know. And if you call on that, or whether it's just you're calling on the universe and and the stars to bring in that energy, you will bring that into your life and in the flow of what you're trying to achieve and tap into that.
And yeah, so that kind of, that makes sense to me in the sense that, um, it's kind of like, are you, are you auditory or are you kinesthetic or are you visual? It's like, Well, choose your own adventure. You don't have to go down the path that doesn't fit you. If, you know, the tradition of God or Christianity or Allah or whatever fits into your flow, Wicca, you know, go with it. So just choose the way that works for you and you're going to get to the same place.
Yeah, that's exactly right. And so I used to get confused myself with starting out, well, was there a religious side of things, you know, and there's There's the spiritual side and there's religion, and they're 2 totally different things, right? So it really has nothing to do with religion. If you're on the spiritual side, that's really about, you know, you connecting with a greater source and energy fields and changing you. That doesn't have to have anything to do with religion at all.
Okay, so let's go, let's go back to hypnosis, because if this is going to be the fastest way in Mm-hmm. I'm incredibly excited about this. So, um, it sounds to me there's a conscious fail of ego experiences, expectations, you know, goals. Am I keeping up with the next person? And hypnosis seems to be the path through to go direct to the source, chat to the source, and go in your mind and go, This is what you really want. How's that process work? How do you do that with someone? And how do you do it so fast?
Right. The, um, the, there's, uh, I guess different techniques to, to do it fast. If I'm doing it with somebody, you know, uh, I'm looking for certain things to be able to make them, to, to put them into trance. However, we all go in and out of trance all the time. I mean, if you pulled up at a set of traffic lights and the lights change green and you're still sitting there because you're sort of daydreaming. Well, while you're daydreaming and you miss the light change, you're in a light trance, right? So you're in an altered state.
Yeah.
Or if you go to a seminar and one speaker is really boring and you start thinking about, oh, I should be off doing this, or I could be doing all these other things, and you're not paying attention, again, you've altered your own state because that person's been boring and put you into a different state. So we go in and out of it all the time. What hypnosis does, it takes you through a process to basically put you into trance and into a more focused space. Because what people think, what they see from stage hypnotists, and I can do that as well, they see people really floppy or doing weird and wonderful things, and they're totally out of it. Well, the reality is they do look like that, but their mind is not. Their mind is super sharp and they actually are paying attention to every single thing. So—
It gives you a heightened awareness of everything that's going on rather than just seeing the room. You're actually seeing all the elements because there's, there's a lot of numbers, but it's like you can only consciously process, you know, a billionth of what the information is that's being bombarded to you at the moment. So this just gives you a bigger awareness of everything.
Yeah, so like, I'll do a little demonstration with you. So I'll get you to put your hands together like this, or anyone that's watching, if they're watching, can do this. Put your hands together. I want you to rub them together like this. All right, and then stop. Put your palms together and pull your fingers all together. And now just pull 2 fingers apart like that. Now I want you to look, Jane, just look at the gap Those— the gap. And it's like 2 magnets in your fingers, and they're pulling your fingers, getting tighter and tighter and tighter as they're coming together. And they're pulling together like 2 powerful magnets pulling your fingers together. All right, so that's— all right, you can stop now. But so that is your imagination pulling those fingers together.
And I was watching that.
So the more More people can actually focus their attention on, on whatever it is, their goal, or whatever it is that they want, uh, in a, in a relaxed state, which is just like a meditated state in an altered state. Then they're tapping into their unconscious mind where they can now see what resources they need or whatever things need to be changed, or if there's something holding them back. Then obviously through guided hypnosis, then they're getting those things asked of them so that their unconscious will give them the answer.
Mm-hmm.
You can do it yourself under, you know, self-hypnosis. You can say, okay, well, I want this. What's, you know, can I, you know, is there anything holding me back? If it is holding me back, what is it? You know, give me a sign or a signal to let me know what that is, or what do I need to do to change that. And because you're getting focused on what it is you want, you can then see what it is that's perhaps holding you back. And sometimes, you know, there's things that have held us back that's happened when we're in our childhood or whatever, and they've affected us to the present time. Um, I remember a lady, uh, who wanted to be really successful in her business. Every time she started to be really successful, she would then self-sabotage the business and it would start to go down again. She came to me and I coached her around what was the issue. What happened was when she was only maybe about 12 years old as a little girl, her father was at their beach house that they had down in Rosebud in Melbourne. A friend of his had bought a brand new car and it happened to be a Ferrari, so a sports car. He brought it around to show her father. And as he came round, her being a little impressionable girl, she said, oh, can I go for a ride in the bright red sports car? And the owner of the car said, no, I can't take you, unfortunately, because it was only a 2-seater. So he was taking her dad, so he couldn't take her on that trip anyway. Well, she got really upset by it as a little girl and seen her dad drive off with him. And she then, inside her own head at 13, said, Rich people are mean, right? So she took on the belief then that rich people are mean. Now, of course, when she's now she was in about 35 years old, built a great business and become really successful, and all of a sudden she started to sabotage the business because she started to make a lot of money. And of course, rich people are mean, and she doesn't want to be a rich person because then that. would mean she was mean. So she sabotaged the business and it would collapse again, and then she'd have to build it all the way back up, and then it would do it again. And this had happened 3 or 4 times. So it was that internal belief that she had taken on as a little girl that rich people are mean.
Yeah, it's interesting. I had a similar experience, um, in the course Renovate Yourself, Renovate Your Wealth that I was running, and I was talking about the stories or the songs we listened to as kids or our parents' conversations around the table of what it meant to be wealthy or whatever the sayings, you know, it's easy to get a rich man through, you know, the eye of a needle than into heaven. Like, you know, all of these stories. And all of a sudden, one of these ladies just started crying. And I said to her, what's going on? She said, On Sundays, we used to get in the car and go on family, you know, drives, and we'd go to all these rich suburbs, and my parents would go, they must have done something evil. I wonder who they ripped off to get their money. And she said, and I had this incredible business. I got this money. I bought this house in this amazing place and went into a deep depression and couldn't leave the house for 3 months and never knew why. And now I understand. I was one of those evil people.
Yeah. Yeah, that's amazing. And we're in control of changing that, you know. But unless we actually have those conversations with our unconscious, you've still got a little 5-year-old running around inside your head making all those decisions.
So this makes me— I want to bring this back to the 5-year-old because there is a kind of premise, working premise, that between the ages of 0, 4, 5, we as children are in a hypnotic state. Just taking in information. Can you talk to that? Is that true?
Sure. Yeah, that's true. It's actually the first 7 years. So up until the age of 7, everything is unconscious and just going to your unconscious mind. And it's not until about—
We're filling up the library basically for information for the rest of our lives.
Yeah, it's not until you're around 7 years old that you develop a conscious mind, right? And so now that's more of the gatekeeper that's sort questioning things and, and seeing if that's true or not, but you're still controlled ultimately by the unconscious. All right, so that's the ultimate decision-making, because you can consciously say, oh, I want to lose weight, I'm not going to eat that chocolate bar, but if your unconscious says screw that, you're having that chocolate, you're going to have it, right? Doesn't matter how much willpower you think you've got, the unconscious will decide what it's going to do. But it's the same as the, you know, and we are a impressionable, you know, in those early years. And even as adults, we're impressionable. Because if, you know, you have somebody who's a doctor who's seen as an authority figure, sort of say to you, oh, look, you've got cancer, and you've perhaps only got 2 months to live. Often those people die within 2 months, because they've taken on the belief of that person in authority, what they've said, as opposed to going, well, that's just your opinion, that doesn't mean that that's what I'm going to believe. Right. And so many people have beaten cancer or overcome it and not fallen for that. But, you know, so it happens all the time. We still have things even as adults.
So we can affect our physical body by our mental story.
Absolutely. Yeah. My dad, he got cancer in his 70s. And the doctors Well, we said, oh, we've got to cut things off and do all sorts of horrible things. And, um, because he had it in the urine tract. And, uh, I said, no way. And I pulled him out of the hospital and said, I'm going to do some hypnosis with him. So I worked with him for 3 months using hypnosis, and within that 3 months, the whole cancer disappeared.
That is—
So we, we totally reprogrammed his mind I got his immune system to not work as a 70-year-old, because that's how old he was at the time, but to go back and start acting as a 15-year-old, right? So your immune system, that's sort of when it was at its prime or peak, when you're in your teens. And so of course it worked twice as hard and it was able to overcome the cancer and totally cancer-free. So, you know, there's so many things that, you know, my wife, she had a bad back and from a school accident and had a perforated disc and things. And so the doctors have told her, oh, you're going to have a bad back your whole life, right? And when she was young, as a 16-year-old girl, um, being told that, she just figured, well, I'm going to be living with bad back pain for the rest of my life. And it wasn't until we did all the hypnosis work and we hypnotized her and said Well, the doctor that told you that back then, you know, that was like 20 years ago, and medical research has come a long way since then. So you don't need to believe that anymore because things have all changed. The moment we changed that whole belief around that I was going to have back pain all my life, she no longer had back pain.
It's amazing, isn't it? I, um, I can remember an experience I had. My parent— my mum went off to a parent-teacher interview for my maths and came home and said, darling, Mr. Singh said you're not that good at maths. And I was like, no, but I am. And he's like— she's like, no, you're not. And I was like, dang, like, you know, I thought I was doing pretty well. And I, I sat with— and I was only a child— and I sat with it in primary school and I thought, no, damn it, I am good at maths. And it wasn't until 6 months later that Mr. Singh went, oh, I got Jane confused with the other other redhead in the class. And I like, that could have— and I see that happening with children. Like, I know with my son, you know, he was always writing these amazing stories. And then a teacher said, your handwriting's really bad. So he just stopped writing.
Yeah.
And, you know, as children, we take this information. And what's insane about this is essentially we've got a, as you said, a 5-year-old ruling our lives as a 50-year-old because we've got We've been programmed and this is allowing us to get into it and go, nah, that's not the case.
Yeah. And so you have that control when you go back and using hypnosis to go back and go, okay, well, hang on, I'm now in control. And the captain, you know, can say to all the other unconscious parts, listen, I want to make some changes and this is what I want for my future. So I want you all on board and You know, do whatever's needed to make that a reality and get them working for you.
With all these people that you've worked with, is there like a, a theme of what are the major limitations or stories that they tell that hold themselves back from getting what they really want?
Yeah, it comes back to those 2 things I said at the start, really, was fear and self-sabotage, or not thinking, you know, big enough or creative enough for themselves.
Right.
Yeah, because, because if there's a limit, it's like, um, you know, if I had a, uh, a plank of wood and we put it across on the floor and maybe it's 2 feet wide, I said, could you walk across it? Well, most people can, right? And then if we raise it up in the air and we put it 10 feet in the air, how many can still walk across it? Some people are going to go, oh, maybe not. And we raise it even higher, and some people are going to say, no, absolutely not. Well, it's the same piece of wood, right? Same width, so you can walk across it on the ground. The only thing that changed was the height. And then what changed was your internal belief around, well, okay, now I'm 15 feet in the air. If I fall, I'm going to break something or die.
So, um, I love that analogy because I did that at a workshop I was running, but I had the VR goggles and we did Hank's Plank.
Yeah, you walk out.
Yeah, you're on a plank and in theory, you know, 10 floors up or above the cityscape and people were physically shaking and crying and it was just like, it's okay, take it off, you're on the ground and you, it's a beautiful way to demonstrate very quickly how your brain is telling you stories that aren't true.
Yeah. And I think the other thing is a bit like, because you're in property as well, is that I use a house metaphor sometimes where I'll say, well, listen, would you, you know, build a, you know, have your dream home built? You know, let's say it's a million-dollar dream home. Would you get that built by a builder? without a set of architectural plans? And most people will say no. And I say, well, why not? And they'll say, because I don't know how it's going to turn out. And he's not going to know what I really want because there's not a plan around how that should be built. And I go, well, how many of you have got an architectural plan designed for what your life should look like?
Hmm.
And most people don't have one going, oh, well, this is what I really want. So you're leaving it up to chance or your unconscious mind to do whatever it likes, you know, because you haven't designed it the way you want it. And, you know, you don't know how it's going to turn out unless you've actually physically taken the time to go, well, hang on, this is what I really want.
It's like driving from Melbourne to Darwin going, I want to get to Darwin, but you don't have a map and a GPS. You're like, it's going to work if I just follow the sun until That's a no sign.
Yeah. So, yeah, so actually thinking about what it is that's holding me back, what is it that I really want, you know, because you want to get the reticular activating system working in your brain as well, you know, the RAS, which is the compass for the brain. So, you know, being able to plan out, this is what I really want. And, you know, the things— and it doesn't have to be perfect, but you have to have a Otherwise, you know, you could leave it up to chance and you could get something totally different.
What you want, exactly. But so this is, um, yeah, so you have to be just picking up on that definitiveness, know exactly what you want, rather than I just want to be happy and successful or rich. You know, you want to be rich and happy and healthy and be able to enjoy it and, you know, not in a coma, all those kind of things. But this concept of— so from a neuroscience point of view, if you have an intention, the goal, and you're very clear on the intention and you're not working out how it's going to be, you go straight into the fact that you can create your own reality. You go into your mind. You're putting aside your limitations. There's an extra step. step in there that a lot of, you know, even self-development and, and from neuroscience they talk about is having the emotional connection to that that really elevates it. Even, you know, Joe Dispenza, everyone talks about this emotion bit. How does emotion come into hypnosis?
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, yeah, one of the key things for setting goals and, and getting what you want is seeing the very last step As well. And so if I was to say to you, for example, how would you know you're going on an overseas holiday?
I have a ticket.
Yeah, for you, you have a ticket. For somebody else, it might be, well, I'm sitting on the plane. Somebody else, it might be, well, when I've landed at the destination and I'm sitting by the pool in Hawaii, or whatever it is. It's going to be different for each person. So when you're doing your mindset work as far as hypnosis or setting goals, you need to see what is the last step that your unconscious needs to see to know that you've truly achieved that goal. So is it when I've got the ticket in my hand, I can see myself holding the ticket? Okay, great. Well, now I know I'm really going, you know, or—
And have an emotion to that, like, this is what it feels like.
Yeah. And how that How does it look, sound, and feel? Yeah, so the VAK. So the more of the senses that you have involved, the more impactful that will be, right? So, and the more vivid you can make that image, you know, the, the better as well.
So in the Success Library, I've been in there, played around a little bit.
You've got—
you say you'll be adding more hypnosis every month. Like there's hundreds of things that, that can be quite specific, right? We're talking about no pain during childbirth to, you know, creating a million dollars. Like how specific do you have to be and how different is it to get to that thing? Is it just like the same process and you just substitute the end result or is it, you know, you have, it's all different parts?
Yeah, well, different topics or different things can have slightly different, obviously, I guess, structures behind them or words or things to achieve a certain result. Because also, I remember a time where I was going, oh, I wanted to be successful now. And I was running these Mars-Venus events and we were being really successful. We're getting 150 people to an event. everyone's raving about them getting huge results and everything else. And when I look at my bank accounts, I was losing money running them, right? Because our marketing costs and our cost to run the venue and all those things was actually costing me money. I felt great and I was actually being successful, but I wasn't financially successful. I was being— and then I realized, well, hang on, there's a difference between what success means and what financial means. Successful man. I blurred the two. I went, well, success equaled wealth, but it didn't, right? And so I had to get then clear around, oh, hang on, no, I want the emotional success of the rewards of making a difference to people, but I also want the financial success. And it wasn't until after I switched that unconsciously that I then started making money and not losing money doing something that I was passionate about.
Right.
So, and so, so I think getting really clear and specific is important. You know, it's like when you're setting a SMART goal, you know, get specific, you know, measurable, make it attainable and, uh, in results and timely. So it's all of those things, but getting that very last step and then adding the emotion. How's this gonna feel? Seeing yourself in the future already having that goal, having achieved it, and also then feeling the gratitude of how grateful you feel to actually have achieved that. So you go out into the future, you know, and that's something you can do easily in hypnosis— go into the future, seeing yourself looking back going, well, you know, 12 months ago I was here, and now I'm here, and I've achieved that, and that feels wonderful, and I'm so grateful. But the other thing is you need to be giving gratitude and thanks to your unconscious parts. Because remember, the ones you have to have rapport with is the unconscious mind. So having regular conversations with your unconscious parts, saying, hey, great job, you got me that information, you helped me achieve that, you know, I've lost a kilo or whatever, keep it going, you know, blah blah blah. Actually, coaching yourself internally is just as important because they work on gratitude and that achievement, right? So your unconscious is lazy as well. So if you say, hey, listen, I want to make more money, if you make 1 cent more tomorrow than what you did today, it's done. It's going to stop working. It's now not going to look for those opportunities to make you more money. So you have to get really specific saying, well, I want this amount of money each day or this year. Or whatever, so that it keeps working to find those opportunities.
So many things, Darren. Okay, so, um, some people more susceptible to hypnosis than others. So my experience as a child being very, very scared of a dentist was that the dentist in Dubbo, God bless him, went off to Sydney, learned how to do hypnosis, came back and as a young— and like, I tried to jump out the second-story building of this dentist surgery. So, you know, I wasn't the only one who was scared, but I took it to extreme. And he used to do things like he'd say— like, I was scared of the drill, scared of the injections, and he'd say, I'm putting a balloon around your arm and, you know, it's tugging up and now I'm letting the air—
Yeah.
And you open your eye, my hand's up here, and he'd say, open your eyes. And have a look. And then he'd say, close your eyes now. I'm just letting the air out of the balloon. And he'd start the drill. And I'd go, oh, it's just the air coming out of the balloon. And then he'd say, your finger's tingly, touch your tooth. And my whole tooth would go numb. So I didn't need to have an injection. And he did that from the age I was like 6 to 16. And I turned up one day and he started the drill. I'm like, no, no, do the other thing. And he's like, I don't do that anymore. I lost my accreditation. I can get my CPD points. I was like, oh my God, I don't— I went straight into fear. But I'm obviously a visual person. Does that— is there people who can be hypnotized better than others? Is it because you're visual or is it—
Well, no, not because you're visual. Um, um, the— I mean, that probably helps because, you know, you can make a picture and get more detail, right? So that is a, a thing that is an advantage for some somebody that does process visually. Everyone can be hypnotized, and they all go into it naturally before they fall asleep, right? So it's a natural occurring thing, right? But some people will go in faster, some will go in deeper, um, and some just go in lightly, right? So yeah, so the more perhaps left brain you are, so a bit more logical, um, you may not go in as deep To start with, right? Because you're still trying to analyze everything, right? Because the logic part of the brain. So people that are really creative go in really easily, right? Um, but there's a couple of tests we can do to be able to see how someone's going to go in, how quick. One of those tests is that book and balloon, or the one that your dentist used to do. That's one. The other one is that one that we did before, like this.
The magnets?
Yeah, the magnets. So there's a couple that we can do, and that tells us fairly quickly how deep that person will go or how fast and things like that. So, but everyone can ultimately go into hypnosis.
So I wanted to talk about some of the famous people that you've worked with. So I saw Russell Brunson, who's like, you know, Mr. Digital Marketing, saying, 90 minutes with Darren made me a million, $1.3 million, came up with a strategy. I mean, you've worked with some extraordinary people. Go on, don't be humble. Tell us some of the stories of some of the transformations or, you know, the breakthroughs that some of these people have had. Like what's been, obviously not through confidentiality, but what have been the kind of things that you've gone, someone's just gone, oh my God, this just changed my life, this thing.
Well, okay. So you mentioned Russell. I mean, Russell, I helped show him how to build rapport with an audience so that he could sell his high-ticket items. And I think the first time I took him through that process and showed him how to do that, and he then used it on podcasts and not podcasts on webinars and things like that, taught him some techniques of how to build rapport unconsciously with people. And to get their unconscious mind aligned. And so by doing that, he was able to get a much higher sales result.
We'll be having talks later, Darren.
Okay. So the first time he did that, I think we did $1.6 million US. That was the highest he'd ever sold from stage. And I basically choreographed the process for him and then stepped him through it and had him do it. do it. All right. And so I supported him doing that. And then he's been able to go on and replicate that now multiple times and done exceptionally well. So that's from a business point of view. So being able to negotiate and get better results in seminars and business meetings and things like that, I've done a lot with people. But I've worked with Hollywood actresses that, you know, was in the Iron Man movie and in lots of different movies where she had you know, some fears around certain things. Because on one of her film sets or film shoots that she was doing, she was riding a motorbike and she came off and she actually hurt her back and she actually fractured her back. And then they fixed that. So that was okay. But then she had to go and finish the movie and had to get back on a motorbike. So she had fears around that whole, you know, going back on a motorbike and then the whole acting, you know, world as well. you know, some of that's a bit false. So, you know, just how to deal with that and the emotions and things. So I worked with her, massive transformations for her, and she went on and won then, uh, Best Film Award and all sorts of things from that. Um, to, uh, working with royalty over in the Middle East, you know, and helping them learn skills of communication to be able to communicate to the masses, you know, a government point of view to be able to, you know, and things like in their case, it was, okay, how do I communicate to the public, we want to spend so many billion dollars on a fighter jet instead of spending that money on hospitals?
Right.
So, because, you know, they sort of both are valid things that they need for the country. And obviously, they needed a fighter jet to protect themselves because they'd been been invaded by Iraq at one stage. So, but they have to be able to communicate that in a way that gets everyone on board, you know, because the public are going to vote on that.
So, okay. Last piece of advice I want from you. This is, this is just for me, but you're a father of 7 children, right? You and your wife have 7 children. I have 1 child. You have all of these incredible processes, the Success Library, you know, business, property, you know, all of these incredible tools. Do they ignore your advice? Or do they lap it up? Because I sit here with my son going, oh my gosh, let me tell you about this. He's like, are you going to tell me about Exit the Matrix again, Mum? Because I'm over it. Like, do kids get to a stage where they start listening to their parents?
Yeah. Well, mine do.
From a very young age.
I hypnotized them from a very young age. Well, uh, so yeah, so we, um, uh, we did that from a very young age. And the thing is, what we did also, we do still do it today. It doesn't matter even if we have visitors come around, uh, for dinner, we do it with them as well. We have a thing where we go around the table and we say, what was your highlight for the day? So they have to have a highlight. highlight. Then what was your lowlight? You don't have to have a lowlight, but if you did, what was it? All right, and they share that. Then what did you learn? What are you grateful for? And what are you good at? And they've got to do all those because one, we're installing constantly, okay, well, they're good at things. So we're building their confidence, their self-love, their, you know, that, you know, and we're getting them to share. And so we do that with All our kids, and still to this day we do it.
And okay, I, I have to say, I, I get to the table and I think I'm doing well. I'm like, how was your day? Never gets me anything. But if I, as a child when I was having these conversations, I'd do something like, tell me something about something that happened today with the color red. And I tried, I tried to like try to get the But what I've found now, you know, and you know, you talked about going to the future and being grateful for something. If people are listening to this, in the group I've created a 4-dimensional gratitude practice so you can call in the future and it's on the dashboard, etc. But I just find that journaling of, you know, writing down in the beginning of the day things you're grateful for, and I've given this journal to my son, 3 things I'm grateful for now, one from the future I want to call forward and an intention and then some self-reflection, you know, every week or so of, you know, what am I doing well? And, and, you know, I think that, um, for me and even, you know, that end of day journaling, getting the things out of your head, you know, what went well, what went wrong, what do I not have to think about and process during the night so I can sleep better? You know, just these, these little practices, I guess they're really just talking to your subconscious, aren't they? And they're just giving—
Yeah.
them the stories that you want to tell them.
Yeah, I mean, for me, every day I meditate. Well, I do a meditation or hypnosis sort of process on myself. And, you know, I'll say, well, what I want, you know, to happen for the day. And, you know, or if I want something worked on, like, you know, this morning I was saying, oh, I've got a torn tendon in my shoulder. And, um, so the, uh, I said, well, keep, you know, sending healing energy my shoulder, you know, let's say that it heals, then, you know, set my day up whereas I want these things to happen, you know, like, you know, and setting your day up with a practice like that gives your unconscious a focus to go and work on, uh, and, you know, then tomorrow I'll say, okay, well, I'm super grateful for the fact that you did this or I achieved that, and then this is what I want for today, and you set it up doing those little practices like that will make a huge difference.
