For me, when I was getting and started dating Martha, one of the things people always ask me, like, when did you know, like, she was the one for you, like she was going to be your wife. And there was never like a moment. It was more of a feeling over time where I felt emotionally safe. And she never asked for expensive things.
Yeah.
And she was always grateful and appreciative. This is a woman who's done, again, 40 movies. She's a mat. We can't walk in Mexico without people stopping her constantly. And she's had, you know, she's got lots of money herself and hotels and condos and, you know, she's got. She's got it all. But she was never demanding me to, like, give to her more in terms of financial stuff. She wasn't like, buy me a car and buy me jewelry and buy me back. She never said that stuff. She was grateful with my spirit and my energy and my love, and she appreciated that. And whenever I'd buy her things, she was grateful for that as well, which her not demanding has made me want to give her more and more and more.
Dude, you know, Right.
I give her more than I've ever given, you know, all the people in my life before.
You know, when you're grateful. Yeah, you. You deserve more. Like, I tell her this all the time. I go, I just want to go run and grab you. The best things versus somebody who is expecting.
No, it's the worst.
It is the worst, but also it makes you reflect us with God. I know I always bring it back, but it's kind of like, how do you expect to get more from God when you're treating what he already gave you like crap? So it really puts a. A huge perspective on it. I remember when I was in LA and I was complaining about an apartment that I had and my mom and dad were paying for it. I was 21 years old. They're paying for this small apartment. And I was like, man, this is crap. This place looks ugly as hell. And she looked at me, she goes, dude, what happened to you? She goes, do you not thank God that you're even there?
Wow.
And I changed my mind. And I every day would clean the floors and thank God for it.
Wow.
Not even a few months later, I was able to go and afford another apartment.
Wow.
So it taught me, it's like, don't disrespect what God already gave you now. And that comes with your relationships. A lot of people walk on people they love because they're comfortable. That's so bad, you should really, really cherish them even more.
Yeah. I think, again, gratitude and generosity is the gateway to abundance and the gateway to a rich life.
Amen.
And it doesn't mean you have to invest money in certain things to feel rich. But we invest in each other. And again, I'm talking about investing. It's like you can invest words, time, attention, resources, presence, your generosity in terms of your acts of service, but by that type of investment, it flourishes the relationship and makes it richer.
Yeah, it's the foundation.
