Why did you decide to come for this Mastermind experience? And what was the biggest lesson for you or biggest takeaway from getting away and surrounding yourself with really, you know, successful people growing in the industry? In 60 seconds or less, what was the biggest thing you learned from this weekend? Believe in yourself. Trust your heart. What's the biggest thing you learned from this weekend?
Think bigger and leap heart. I reckon. It's really like leaping into what feels right and not letting myself get in my own way.
Oh my goodness. Okay, let's go around the whole place.
My one tip is clarity is king. No matter what you're passionate about and how great it feels inside your head and your heart, you can't plant it in somebody else's heart and head with your word, whatever you create. It holds no ground. So you'll find that you'll end up stressing out and feeling like you're not worthy enough. I always tell people, do not let your progress deter you from your purpose. so you haven't made progress because you can't clarify it. Don't think it's not for you. Clarify it. But in somebody's hard head, make more progress.
Yeah.
I just want to reiterate the power of the Mastermind. When you get brilliant people together, there's no comparison of how much power you can get from putting all the minds in the room. And it doesn't take a jet like this or being able to put a lot of money into it. When I was first starting out, we used to do marketing Mondays, and every night we'd gather at one person's house, we'd order Thai food, everyone would split the bill, and then two people would talk about things that were working for them well in their marketing businesses.
And other people would just sit around.
And take notes every Monday night. Marketing money Mondays. Yeah, I did it 2009. And it was fantastic because you find out what's working for other people. You can go that apply it to your own business, costs you nothing. And it's just a proof that teamwork.
Makes a dream work. Okay. And we'll go over to his lovely wife. You've been a lot of group mastermind, right? You've done a lot of different things. What did you learn in this one? How is it different than others?
One of the biggest things I realized. When we were sitting around the table masterminding was that everyone had a movement bigger than themselves. And so when you're creating a brand or having a vision for even a product and starting your business, you really have to think about what is the purpose bigger than yourself that you want to bring people into? More than what people want, like financial success, more than even their health and well-being. They want to be part of something. And so I just realized that like everyone around the table was building that movement.
And it's so important to think about.
That when you're building a brand or creating a business because that's ideally what people want inherently. and that they want to be part of something bigger than the community.
Okay, let's go to the old cabin, walking through.
My biggest takeaway from this weekend, so.
I wasn't involved as much, but one.
Thing I have realized is that when you come into a community of people.
Who all share the same values, it's.
Really easy for everybody to connect and to give and share to each other because they're coming in with, well, this.
Group especially was coming in with no.
Ego and with the intention to share and give out. And so whatever people are receiving has just been an extra add-on but people have come here to really give to other people and I think that intentionally made such a difference to the mood of the event.
So, Jay told us to close our eyes and said, when you are on.
Your deathbed, what are you gonna regret?
Now, I usually go straight to business. It's usually like, oh yeah, like, oh, I should have taken that opportunity, which allows me to say yes to things. But for some reason, the way he phrased it, immediately I went to, I don't hug my husband enough.
No, it's one of those, because we.
Work together, we try to respect each other the business and like our employees and stuff and over time in building Quest once you get 3000 employees and HR involved they tell you hey you.
Shouldn'T hug in front of people so.
We just learned to not hug and I'm always the person that's like what's good for the business and so when it was like well of course I don't want to hurt the business so I'm hugging my husband I just told myself like okay that's what you should do not realizing that my emotion was affected by it until that very moment.
That was this weekend.
That was this weekend.
Really? Wow. So you're gonna hug him more?
So I'm gonna hug him more. because we've been together for 19 years. But when you get together, when you've.
Been together with someone for that long.
You just assume they're gonna be there. And the truth is, sadly, I mean, look, if we haven't learned anything from this, hope is dead. It's that we're not going to be here forever. So from now on, I'm gonna have my husband watch this.
So the past couple of years have just been crazy for the business. And I've really moved from being the creative, writing a ton, creating content, being CEO, and, like, figuring out how to manage people and all the fun things that come with it, which I love, but I think I've let that slip me away a little bit and I haven't spent time doing what I actually love and what helps me get here. It's writing, it's creating content, it's being creative, it's not being a mute thing. And it's just such a good reminder to be in your own genius and I'm grateful to just be ready to have the boundary conversation, do what I.
Need to do to be in my.
Creative zone and to have the time to do that.
I'm gonna interrupt. That's what I do my whole life.
And I, no. Oh, sorry.
I was just interrupting you. how did you decide to come for this Mastermind experience? And what was the biggest lesson for you or biggest takeaway from getting away and surrounding yourself with really, you know, successful people growing in the industry?
Yeah, I decided to come because I think that collaboration is the best form of growth. Like, I genuinely believe that people who want to give share their secrets, open their hearts, like, that's rare in today's world. I think we live in a very competitive world, and I want to live in a more collaborative world. And so when I know that there are 30 people around the table that are willing share all their secrets. I'm willing to share mine. Everyone's learning from everyone. Everyone is an expert in their field. Like, that's amazing. And then the best thing that happened is you become friends over it, too. And you actually build real friendships. And me and Lewis have done that for ages, like, for each other. Like, Lewis has always shared insights with me. Before I launched my podcast, I remember sitting and talking to Lewis over dinner, and Lewis was telling me what to think about. And when Lewis has been working on videos, I've shared some insights, and it's like, that's the world I want to live in. I want to live in a collaborative world, not a competitive world, because I think competition makes us lonely, and I think competition drives brings us away from each other, whereas collaboration brings us closer and it makes us happier when we win and everyone can win in different ways. And so anyway, it's just been amazing.
Jay helped me launch my first viral.
Video like a year and a half ago.
It was an amazing video.
He was there filming it, directing it, like doing all that. And it was sick and I wanted.
To do more of them. I know.
So now press like if you want more of Lewis's.
So we're gonna get back on. I just got to find the right team. Yeah, yeah. You need to get back on the sports story because This is the thing that everyone want a for when whoist tells sport stories, you need a for's a vil that people connecting with sport. It different every want be a worldl for a different, so I'm excited for that.
I wonder. and the quQueen who brought us here. You brought us here on the flight, the trip, you brought us all together so thank you cuz it gave us an opportunity to all reconnect. Brandon invited us, what was your biggest lesson on the weekend?
The biggest takeaways?
I think the power of who you surround yourself with and who you turn the volume up on in your life.
You know what I mean?
I think that I love so many of my lifelong friends and family and all that but sometimes you might have a dream but maybe someone around you in your your life doesn't really get it. And then you sort of like keep telling them about it and all of a sudden it just starts to like lower your vibration or like how much you dream. And the biggest thing I just like I was in tears so many days this last three days just sitting there thinking about I'm surrounded by support.
Yeah.
People that just like you get what you give and everyone like showed up with like to serve and I feel like collectively like everyone's whole vibration is up and everyone is sort of like helping each other multiply their ability of course for good. And it's just a reminder, like, you know, I think all of us have people we love in our lives, but maybe, maybe add other people in your.
Circle too, where you can, you know.
The things on your heart or your.
Dreams or your, you know, everything, you.
Know, people you want to turn the volume up on when they're speaking into your heart. We're all so different, but like share this like passion to be a force for good. So I am like so high.
Yes, literally high.
Literally high.
Appreciate you.
Jamie, Jamie.
