A speaker uses a VR headset metaphor to explain how our 3D plus time universe might be a low-resolution version of reality. The amplituhedron, a geometric object from theoretical physics, has a parameter n that equals 4 for our space-time but can be arbitrarily large, suggesting higher-dimensional universes exist beyond what we perceive.

the 3D world that we perceive right now is one of the more trivial headsets that's available. Mm-hmm. And what the theoretical physicists are finding when they're starting to find these structures outside of space and time, there's one of them called the Amplituhedron that has several parameters about this geometry. And one of the parameters, there's this parameter that takes the value 4 for our space-time headset of, you know, 3 spatial dimensions and 1 time dimension. So n equals 4, but in their model, n could go as big as you want. So what we already are seeing is that they're thinking about space-times that are much, much larger than ours. So ours is probably one of the smaller, we probably one of the cheaper headsets, but they can go off to thousands of dimensions and even beyond the notion of dimension.
