Lewis Howes argues that failure isn't permanent. He cites Michael Jordan's quote about failing repeatedly before winning, and compares learning to walk: babies fall countless times but keep going. Setbacks mean you're on the right track.

Just because you failed in the past, it doesn't mean you are a failure. I love the quote by Michael Jordan where he says, "I failed over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed." You know, failure is actually the buy-in for success. It's mandatory. It's a requirement. You can't succeed or accomplish your dreams without failing over and over again. I love this meme that I've seen online so many times. Of a baby. And it says, when a baby is trying to walk, it falls and hits itself thousands of times. And it never thinks to himself, maybe this walking thing isn't for me. The bumps, the bruises, you know, hitting your head, all these different things is part of the process of learning how to walk. And so is failure part of the process of you accomplishing your dreams in your life. So just because you failed a lot, it doesn't mean you are a failure and you're going to fail again in the future. It just means you're exactly where you need to be. You're just almost there. Don't stop now. Don't let the fear of failure, the fear of embarrassment, or people making fun of you failing hold you back from finishing what you started. You're worthy of accomplishing what you want, but you have to be willing to embrace failure.
