Everyone carries an inner child with basic needs: connection, food, rest, care. Modern life teaches us to hide these feelings, but they don't go away. Recognizing them in yourself and others, even people you disagree with, changes how you relate.
Look for the inner child in everyone. I do that with everyone. Even the people I argue with, I look for that. And I don't mean that in a condescending way. We all just want the same we wanted when we were babies. We wanted. We were lonely. We are hungry. We are tired. We're disgruntled. We're not getting what we need. And before, we used to cry and we used to talk about it. But now we're not allowed to. But we still feel all those feelings. So how do we look after the child in all of us? Preach it.
