Lewis Howes shares lessons from working in a CEO's office and later coaching successful people. He argues that proximity to high performers teaches you their habits and mindset, and that surrounding yourself with success accelerates your own growth.
I go to the CEO's office, which I had to clean up and everything else, and I read all his documents. Totally inappropriate, but I want to know how he thought what he was doing was going on. And when I was there, he had pictures on the wall, he had this boat, and he had different things there. It was like, wow, that's an interesting life. That's an interesting way of being. And then gradually, I got the chance to coach some people that were just unbelievably successful in terms of movies, business, life, and they're much older than me. Proximity is power. Yes, it is. You have to get yourself in the environment.
