#61: Akashic Records, Energy fields, and Plant Medicine
23 Feb 2022 · 32 min
Energy practitioner Jillian Rifkind explains how unprocessed emotions create chronic illness and describes the Akashic Records as a multidimensional field storing every soul's information. She covers body-based healing like craniosacral work, accessing the Records in a grounded state, and using plant medicine as a shortcut to expanded consciousness.

So many chronic illnesses involve this unprocessed emotion, often childhood trauma or things that don't even feel like trauma to us because when we were a child, we are very resilient.

Thank you so much.
Yeah, yeah, I'm so excited for our chat today. So everyone listening, I have Jillian Rifkind on, and we will be diving into all things, um, energy work, body work, acupuncture. Uh, we're gonna actually dive into your Akashic Records, which I'm very excited to chat about. Um, so yeah, welcome on, Jillian.
Thank you. Yeah, thanks for having me here.
Awesome, awesome. All right, Jillian, so tell us a little bit about what you do in your realm of energy work and we were just chatting before we hit record on what it really means to dive into your unprocessed emotions and how that impacts our lives.
Yeah, exactly. So when we go to the doctor, and often a lot of my clients are people who have experienced Western medicine and it hasn't aligned with them, they haven't been able to feel connected. One thing is a lot of doctors, they see the body as separate. Specialize in different parts of the body. So that allows them to just kind of separate themselves. Oh, here's my mind and here's my body. So my emotions are in this other place that sometimes people categorize as kind of woo-woo that isn't really significant in their life. But what I find is that so many chronic illnesses involve this unprocessed emotion, often childhood trauma or things that don't even feel like trauma to us because when we're a child, we're very resilient and all we know is what we know, what we've experienced. But some of those experiences, we, for whatever reason, we don't process it. There's even things that come up in my sessions for people where they didn't process something that was actually great. You know, it was emotionally positive. So it's not always a negative emotional trauma that we're working with, but finding those patterns and those blockages in somebody's energy field I feel is super important as a combination of doing the work with the physical body. So sometimes the physical body, there will be just a stuckness. I use osteopathic manual therapy to help release things, which most people understand, craniosacral, working with the cerebral spinal fluids and allowing blood flow and pain to resolve through reducing the restriction in the function. But that also goes deeper as to working with the nerves, the nervous system, the organs, the lymphatic flow, and the blood circulation to get the body just moving in an optimal way. So there is that just bridge between the mind and body that I find very interesting.
Oh, I love it. So can you repeat— you cut out for just a moment whenever you were saying the name of what that was where you're like moving the things around your lymphatic and your cerebral?
So osteopathic manual therapy, which some people understand as craniosacral is one part of that, one modality of the osteopathic field.
Yeah, yeah, okay, so that sounds super juicy. Okay, so what would that look like? Like, I think I resonated with the part that you said about it's not necessarily all negative emotions that we suppress or that like we don't process, right? What would it look like to have like a positive event or like a positive experience that we don't necessarily process, right? Maybe as an entrepreneur or maybe like as women, as adults, you know, what are some events or things like that that you typically see in your clients that they don't process and how does that affect them?
It could be a major life change, like getting into the school of your dreams or transitioning your career. And it could be something that it's, it's not necessarily negative, but it's just hanging out in your energetic field and processing it will help you just really align with your goals better and move forward.

So thank you so much for listening to today's episode. Let's jump back in. Yeah. Yeah. What would that look like to process it? Like, what do you mean process it? Like, should I like journal on it? Should I like meditate? Like, what do you mean by process it? Yeah.
So usually when I have clients, I experience a little intuitive hit of when you were 18, you had to make a choice. And maybe that's all I really know without diving a little bit deeper. But I'll mention that to the person and I'll say there is something going on there. Something that your system hasn't really processed. And I'll use— I use tuning forks. And so there's a frequency in the energetic field. It responds to sound because our body, all of our cells, has the ability to listen. They have like little antennas on them, and it's almost like they have little tuning forks on them. They can pick up all that information. The body doesn't like to hear itself out of tune. So when the body hears that there's a little bit of a blip in the resonance, it will shift and it will transition. And so by processing those unprocessed emotions, we can kind of bring that frequency into the center of the body, into the body's chakras. So the body can— the chakra is the body's wheel, right? So the body is able to keep the wheels turning and spinning and and move through that feeling, that thought, that emotion, that pattern. And yes, journaling and all of those things are really good. Often I tell people when they leave a session to take a salt bath or to soak their feet in Epsom salt or to walk barefoot on the beach, to have that visual experience with the body connecting with the negative ions, which help us to process any negative emotions that come up or any thoughts or feelings. It's just that I don't know if you've ever experienced this, It's just a feeling of, you know, maybe you're, you're, you're getting better, things are changing. And so in the process of getting better, sometimes you feel a little worse first because you are feeling those, like the Herxheimer reaction. You're feeling those things and you're feeling them really strongly because you are releasing them.
Wow. It's like the spiritual flu. Like I feel like I've had the spiritual flu before.
I love that.
Yeah. I was working with a, um, gosh, she calls herself a mindset coach, but I feel like she was so much more than that. Earlier this year, we did a lot of like subconscious like visualizations and like a lot of like breathwork and stuff, just like really rewiring some stuff. And I remember after like one of like a really, really deep session, I like literally felt sick, like literally like got a head cold, like my stomach was upset. And it was like, I remember like voicing her, I'm like, what's going on? She's like, yeah, you just have a spiritual flu. Like, it's fine, it'll pass. It's because we're like rewiring all this stuff. Yeah. And it was true, you know, my body was like processing a lot of emotions. There was some grief that I had yet to like really process or even verbalize. And so I definitely can attest to what you're saying about sometimes you have to like go through this, you know, your body's way of like ridding itself of those things before you fully— Yeah.
And I love that too, because physically getting sick, like getting chickenpox or getting some whatever cold's going around is actually an upgrade for us. We get rid of toxins, we go through, especially for chickenpox because kids, they get it all at the same time, and it's as if they're going through this maturation process where they all, you know, they all download this information from each other and they're able to move through whatever is going on at that point in their life.
Yeah, isn't it weird how like you were talking about Western medicine and how it separates the things and how it really looks at the body as like different parts and like I think I feel like it really treats the symptoms, right? But isn't it weird? I've always thought this was weird, how they'll say, okay, well take Tylenol to make your fever go down, right? Or take this to suppress your cough. But wait a minute, like isn't our body actually like doing its job whenever it has the fever? Right? By like fighting off the infection and, you know, by us coughing, like that's our lungs working. Like that's—
Your body is so intelligent and it's amazing. And there's even, even natural doctors, they'll treat the thyroid and they might treat the thyroid naturally. But the thing with the thyroid is it is our, our body's regulation system. It's regulating our temperature. And when the body has some kind of, they call it like a cell danger response. Or let's say it's just a toxic reaction. The body knows what it's doing and it's like, you know, we can't do all this thyroid stuff. We need to slow that down right now so we can take care of what's going on that's deeper. And so I find it so funny that these people are being treated for the symptoms and the branches of what's going on when really like, but why? You know, isn't that more important to ask? What— why is the body doing this?
But why? Yeah, why is it doing that? Like, why is it doing that in the first place?
Yeah, let's help it do that instead of, you know, just turning this— the symptoms off.
Yep, 100%. Yes, that's the million— that's the billion-dollar question, right? Billion-dollar question, I would say.
Um, yeah, what is the root?
Yeah, exactly. Um, okay, so Jillian, tell us— I, I'm super interested in Akashic Records. I, I have never done my own study. Of course, I've heard, um, a few other mentors speak on it and, um, and, and sort of research some of their work, but I, I don't really know what it is. Can you explain that to me and to our listeners?
Yeah, so the Akashic Records are a record of anything that's ever happened, past, present, future, um, and we have our own records, um, plants, animals, objects like crystals, um, houses, they all have their own records too. And when we tap into this, it's just an energy field. It's just a frequency that we tap into when we read the records, and we're able to connect with the, what we call the masters, teachers, and loved ones, or the guardians of these records. And they are just our own personal guides that we have that support us. And of course, we have free will, so they're not going to tell us like, you're going to, this is going to happen to you, and that's that. There could be something that you could do to shift it. So, but as far as past lives, present things in your journey, it can be really helpful for entrepreneurs to kind of dig deeper into what their, what direction they're going, things, you know, just little nuances and things that could help support them. And they, they speak to us in different ways. Some people have more of a clairaudience, they hear. I actually hear some voices when I'm in the records. They have— people see pictures. I see some pictures. Some people see only pictures. And then there's also the sentience or the cognizance where you either feel or you just know something to be true. So whatever, I always explain when people are getting really into their intuitiveness that if you don't speak Spanish, Spanish isn't your primary language, your guides are not gonna speak to you in Spanish. And so they're gonna pay attention to what is the most fluent language for you. 'Cause some people, they go into experiences with plant medicine and different experiences and they say like, oh, it wasn't very visual for me, I didn't see very much. And it's like, well, are you a very visual person Or are there other things that, you know, you should be paying more attention to?
Hmm, yeah, that's good. So Akashic Records are actually showing you your future lives, is that right? Like it's kind of showing you like the progression of yourself in your life, is that right?
It's showing you your soul's journey, and I want to, you know, as a caveat to this, time is an illusion and it's a construct that we've created to fit into this physical world. However, it's not linear. And so you could say that past, present, future lives aren't necessarily true. Like they could be actually happening at the same time, everything at the same time. But in order for us to like exist within this three-dimensional reality, we have to create this construct of past, present, and future. And so that's where it gets a little hairy and a little tricky.
How do you visualize that? Like, I guess I am like a visual person. I'm like trying to like make my logical brain wrap up.
Do you dream?
Yeah, I dream.
So I, when I dream, I, I meet people in my dreams that I know who they are, but they don't necessarily look like who they are, or there's like, it feels like different versions of this reality. And so dreaming, it very much feels like that parallel future-present lives that are going on outside of our own cognitive spaces.
Yes, yes, my dreams are very much like an entirely different reality, like about people, right? But just doing things that we've never done in like quote-unquote real life, right? Like it's an entirely different like universe over there.
Yeah, I love it.
So is that kind of how we can like think about this? Like it's not linear, like it's all kind of like happening in like a duality? Like, is that sort of like a good way to think about it? Like, it's all—
there's the duality. The duality is like too two-dimensional, right?
It would be like a triality.
So when you have people who think of like good and evil, like think of the medieval times, there was like more of a duality going on. And then things just kept branching off and branching off until I can't remember which dimension it is. The Akashic Records, I think, are like 6th or 7th dimension, maybe, maybe just 5th dimension. But yeah, as we, as we progress, we understand there are multiple dimensions and there's multiple versions of reality that we're seeing this right now. People all have this different version of what's going on. And that's totally okay.
What? What? This is crazy. Okay, so how do you— so you said like whenever someone is like, you said when they're in the record, like how did you say that? Like what does that mean? Like they don't necessarily— they may see something or they may hear something, like what do you mean by that? Like they're like, like what does it mean to be looking at your records? Like what does that mean?
So if you were tapping into the cache and reading the records, you would be accessing information, but it's not like a book where you just, you know, start flipping pages because obviously it's, you know, multidimensional. So you experience, you can ask questions, and you may experience the answers in different ways. You may feel the answer in your body, you may know the answer, or you may hear or see the answer in the form of like a picture or audio.
So do you do this like alone, or do you like do this under like plant therapy, or like do you— or like medicine, or like, like how does one access the Akashic Records?
Yeah, so my instructor that I worked with, she said, you know, avoiding alcohol, cannabis, and really most substances. There are, you know, I don't know if there's exceptions where if you're needing to take a medicine or something like that for your body, or something, you know, like a mild plant therapy that you're using that you're used to, you can tap into the records. But, you know, you definitely wouldn't want to be in an extremely altered state and then try to access the Akashic Records. I think it's more of a respect thing, respecting the virtuousness of being able to work in that way. But you can be alone. Like, I, I'll go into my records sometimes at night and ask questions and just explore what's going on in my system. And then, you know, when with sessions, I would do them either in person or via Zoom. And sometimes I would be working with the tuning forks at the same time to figure out what is going on in the energetic field and then, you know, be able to ask more questions about where this thing is coming from and how to shift.
Okay, so you're just like chilling at night and you're like, hey, I think I'm gonna like tap into my records, and then you just like do that? Yeah, yeah. I love it. That's awesome. Thank you for sharing that with us. Like, thank you for, um, just explaining that in a way that, uh, we understand without having to go and like do our own research, which, which I, I understand this is a very sacred thing and like we should definitely do our own research and educate ourselves before we go and like try to tap into that, right?
Right, well I think with any practice, any spiritual practice, it's really important that you are, that you feel safe, that you're not going into, I have a story from a friend that somebody, you're not supposed to, at least according to people that I've talked to, you don't want to access somebody's records before they can legally consent or if they're not there. And so I had a friend that I guess for somehow all kinds of crazy stuff in past lives that somebody accessed the records for him while he wasn't there and he's not 18. And so I was like, that seems really questionable. But it's just like, you don't want to throw yourself in the fire before you're ready. And so a lot of these practices, they just involve taking some time to ground, to clear your energy, to, to work with your intuitive gifts. Just naturally before kind of going into a space that could be potentially triggering for you.
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. What has been like the biggest— and this may be like a super broad question— but in what ways, or I guess like what's been like the biggest download, like one of the biggest pieces of guidance that you've gotten from tapping into that version or tapping into that energetic field of yourself? What's, what's been one of your biggest like aha moment?
Definitely like discovering some soul contracts that I've had in my life and being able to shift that for me. And like, you know, those relationships that you have that you keep doing the same thing and you don't know why. And so just becoming more conscious of those patterns and being able to shift that, that has been the biggest thing that I could think of.
Yeah, like like relationships, like right now, like in your quote-unquote life, right?
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Yeah, that's super interesting.
Yeah, because often we all, we, we circle around, you know. We have, I'm sure we have new souls that we meet in our life, but often people that we're gravitated towards are people that we have known in the past lives.
Yeah, why else would we have like that pull to them, right? Like why else would you just like, do you ever just like meet people and you're like I just have like this weird like pull to them, you know, you're in your life. I don't know why, I just feel like I'm connected to you, you know. I've definitely—
for sure.
Yeah. And there's a person that I knew like years back and we had only hung out, like been around each other like a few times. And I remember saying like, that person's like my soulmate, like not like a romantic way, but just like— and it was just like this weird like knowing, you know, like just like this weird like like connection. I don't even know how to explain it. So, so yeah, it's beautiful.
We're very complex, right?
Yeah, super cool. Okay, Jillian. So tell us if we're interested in like tapping into this. Hello, it's Lindsey. So I want to share a really, really juicy client win from a beautiful student who came through Aligned Coach Academy. So this is our 12-week signature program to learn how to sign high-ticket paying clients for your online coaching business. So before this student came through, she was all over the place, right? And we also have daily Q&A coaching inside of the course itself. So if you know that this is what you want, go to the link in our show notes. Join us there, and I would be so honored to support you in our next coaching call. All right, let's hop back to today's episode. Just like these, these energetic fields of ourselves and exploring these unprocessed emotions and, um, and, and learning more about ourselves, right? And learning more of the other, you know, spiritual sides of ourselves. Where would you say for someone to start? Like, where would like a beginner really start?
I would say listening is so important. So these things that we have in our pockets, these computer crazy virtual reality devices, those aren't that helpful for getting into our intuition when we have like the ability to just like, or it's almost like we're actually projecting or time traveling with like a device in our hand. Not even to mention that EMFs, they actually suppress our melatonin and remove our melatonin or remove the melatonin that can come into our cellular level, and that has influence on the pineal gland and on sleep and intuition. So I would say it's really important to just get out in nature and just spend some time with yourself, and that will help you connect a little bit better to your intuition. The other thing I would say is just tap into your, your body, your heart center. Feel and listen from that space as opposed to listening and feeling from your head, because then we can start to separate what's coming from my head and what's coming from my intuition, what's coming from my body, what's coming from my gut.
That was so powerful. Like, That was so, so spot on. Like, it's not about researching something. It's not about going to find the next course or something outside of yourself. It's tapping inward, right? Like putting your phone up, going on a walk or whatever, right? And just tapping in and listening to your body and to your heart, right?
Yeah. And it's amazing how it really is within us. Like, you hear about people that can access information from halfway around the world, and they don't really even need to, to be in that space to, you know, tell you like things about your house and what, you know, entities might be in this house or what history it might have had that have caused the issues that you're seeing today. So it really is amazing what we have the power to do, and people say that you can only use 10% of your brain or something like that. And I think that's really something that we should just like think about, not necessarily our brain, but our consciousness. We can only access so much of our consciousness, which is why I think people do gravitate towards plant medicine because it's kind of like a shortcut to allow us to access different energy fields. Because if we could access all that information all the time, right, most of us would go crazy. Like, we do need to have a certain degree of filters up to narrow our perceptions.
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, 100%. Do you be— I mean, it feels like you're very close to like that intuitive side of yourself. And with others, do you ever get like intuitive hits off of people like just randomly and you're like, oh, Oh, I feel this. Like, do you ever get that?
You know, I do, but it's more— it tends to be more around working with clients because you don't want to— like, like I said, you don't want to turn that on all the time. Like, I was in a class recently with like— it was a listening class with like, you know, I don't know, maybe 25 people or something like that. There's a lot of people to go to be around. And so my— I wasn't like picking up on something on each and every person. Like, it just, it doesn't really work that way. Yeah. So I was, I was trying to, I don't know if I was consciously like trying to filter that information that I got, but it was more directed. We're in a learning context and we're kind of focusing on what we want to, what we want to accomplish in that way.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I like it. I think it would be like a very like, like you have to be super centered to not project like your own biases or like your own judgments on someone, like masked as intuition, you know what I mean? Like, like, especially I guess whenever you're first like trying to learn your intuition or trying to learn that discernment. And like you wouldn't want to just like make— and just being careful, right? And being like, like you said, like filtered and when and where and how you use that. Because you wouldn't want to just like say, oh, well, I think that you're dealing with this, or like, oh, you had this happen, right? And it actually be like a projection or like a judgment, right?
And that's like a huge reason that you have to take care of yourself when you're working with energy, you know, on any level. I found, you know, when I first started practicing and I was working with osteopathic listening And there's one day where I was like, everybody's got something going on with their liver. You know, I would actually feel in the body and I would feel that there's something going on there. And maybe there was, like, there's a lot of weird planetary things that happen where I'm like, everybody's got something similar going on. But, you know, it could have been me, right? I was the one that I was projecting onto. So if I come into the space without really doing the work outside to take care of myself and to keep things in better alignment, then I am going to pick up on things that aren't helpful.
Yes, such a huge note there. Yes, thank you for sharing that. This has been such a juicy conversation, Jillian. Thank you so much for this.
So much fun.
Yeah, yeah. Okay, so where can our listeners come and connect with you if they want to soak up some more of this goodness, or if they want to explore working with you and exploring their own energetic fields and, um, and really processing their own emotions, whether that be through Akashic Records or through their own intuitive work. So where, where can they find you?
Um, so my website is joypointclinic.com. If you go to that website, you can sign up for my newsletter, um, and my newsletter will have a little link to work with me if you're interested in working with me. Um, I also send out— I usually send out like about a weekly, so you won't get too harassed by me. I usually send about like a weekly like kind of channeled message with a link to attend a Qigong class that I do every Tuesday, 11 Pacific Standard Time. And Qigong is like an ancient Chinese form of energy work. And what it really feels like is clearing energy, cultivating energy and movement. And so it is movement exercises, but also just with the emphasis on aligned energy movement and energy healing. So that might be interesting to some of your listeners if they want to check it out. I am on social media, Facebook, Instagram, as Joy Point Clinic if people want to look at it that, that way.
So, oh cool, yeah, awesome. We will link those in the episode notes so y'all can go and check that out there. Thank you so much for coming on, Jillian. I have enjoyed this conversation and yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to, um, going and creeping your, your pages and keeping up with all that. Thanks.
Yeah, me too. It's so much fun.
Awesome. Thank you, Jillian, and we will see you all in the next episode of the Aligned Coach Podcast.
