You vibrate at a higher level. People see that and they're drawn to that. You know what I'm saying? Because inevitably with coaching, you know, they buy the transformation, but they're buying you.
Okay, so welcome back to the Aligned Coach interview series. I am so freaking excited for today's talk. This is one of my dear friends, like a friend, like literally a friend. That I have made over the past year. We have grown together, we've worked together. Like, she's a freaking coach in my mastermind. She's a client. Like, Lariah is so, so amazing. So y'all, this is Lariah Smith, sales and mindset coach. And I'm so excited for you to be here, Lariah.
Yay, I'm excited to be here too.
Yay, awesome. Okay, so I like to start these interviews out just like super casual. Super fun. Like, just tell us who you are, where you're from, what you do. I don't know, just like give us your— give us the, the down low on who Lariah is.
Okay, well, my name is Lariah Hay. Um, I'm from Indiana, um, born and raised, and I've been doing coaching for a little bit over a year now. I've changed my niche about 20 times. I'm just multi-passionate like that, so I go with the flow when it comes with it. But, you know, currently now I'm segueing into sales and mindset, and I'm super excited to get out there and really help women just own who they are and sell that. Let that be what it is instead of trying to hit the masses of what everyone else is doing. So that's what I'm doing.
That's so good. Okay, so I know that you've had tons of, like, experience in retail and in sales, like, even before you came into the coaching industry. So tell us about that and tell us how it has segued into the online industry.
Yeah, so when I started sales, I was like 18, fresh out of high school, looking to make some quick money, and retail was just a vibe back then. Um, and I always loved people, but I was afraid to talk to people. Like, I couldn't even look someone in their eyes without like Do you want to buy this? So it was one of those things where I had a store manager that just was so passionate, so loving, so nurturing. She's like, Lariah, I'm going to push you because you can do amazing things. And I moved up, like, within 6 months I became the store manager. So it was a huge turnaround, and it was just me listening to someone else and actually getting out of my own way. And I just kind of took that. I did retail for about 10 years and really love the people aspect of things. And I love training the new associates and getting them out of their comfort zone. And, you know, I just finally got to a point where I'm like, you know, I don't have the freedom that I want. You know, being in retail, it's really service-based. You don't get weekends off, you don't get a traditional schedule. You really have to live your life around it. And where I was moving at in my life, I'm like, girl, this ain't gonna work. It's just gonna work. You know, I really had that deep-seated thing in my heart, like, I need to be doing something else. Like, I know I want to do people-serving vibes. I just don't know what it is. So that's pretty much what it was when it came to retail, though. I've always just had a passion with people, sales, different things like that. But it was coming to the point where I'm like, okay, I'm done helping people find amazing-ass outfits. Yeah, what else can I do, you know? So that's how I kind of transitioned. Wow, I love that.
And that is such a skill. Like, I mean, I've worked in retail, I've worked in like restaurants, hospitality. That's a place where a lot of people can relate. So I think that sometimes people look at the coaching world, they look at running an online business, and they think there's no way I could do that, I have no idea how, like I don't know anything about online or like whatever. But I think that a lot of people can relate to working in retail and to having like a regular ass job, you know, like that it was a regular job and then you, you took what you already knew, you took that, that experience and that knowledge and now you're putting it into your online business. Um, so, so would you say that like you had to start from scratch whenever you came into the online world, or a lot of what you had already learned, um, just like flowed and it transitioned and like you're bringing it forward into your online business?
I would say I had to start from scratch.
Okay.
Originally I went into it with the attitude like, oh, I can do exactly what I did for retail into this. And soon I realized, I'm like, hold on, this is a different ball game because you're not just selling an outfit with the experience behind it, you're actually selling transformation. And I couldn't get behind that because I didn't even realize what my own transformation was. I was still stuck with my deep-seated issues from past childhood trauma and just getting over that the whole hump of being out on the internet, putting out there. So I had to relearn some things and it really didn't click that, oh my gosh, I can take aspects from retail but spin it to what's going to work for me. So yeah, it was definitely from scratch. I had to figure out a whole new way of thinking and operating where I can meet my clients where they're at instead of just jumping on in there trying to get the sale. I had to really sit back and figure out how can I connect with them where they trust me. Yep. Yeah.
You said something so profound. You said it's not just about creating the experience right then, it's about the transformation. So what do you mean by that?
So I, I am 100% believing that everyone deserves a complete transformation in their life, regardless of what background they come from. But it starts with believing in yourself. And I'm seeing, especially in the coaching industry, a lot of people don't believe. You know, you may have people who are hitting those 6-figure, 7-figure, 8-figure marks, but when you sit down with them and really look at the fine lines, it's, it's still like a mistrust there. It's something that they're not believing in, which is how they approach sales, you know. Because I've had situations where I really wanted to work with coaches and just the, the pushiness behind it, I'm like, you're not doing as well as you say you are. You can't be. I mean, it's the truth, it's the truth, you know. So I, I, I want to come guns blazing because I need people to understand, like, stop worrying about what everyone else is doing, stay in your own lane, love who you are now, and you will attract that tribe, dude. Like, you really will.
Yep, girl, there— that has been like a theme this month. Okay, so, you know, we just started an Align Coach Academy, like the first official round of it, you know. And so December was going to be like my chill month. It was going to be the month that I just like stepped back. Well, whenever I started that, that, that's how this whole interview series came about. Well, I felt like this, um, sort of like this guilt around doing that, like this guilt because I wasn't like actively marketing. I wasn't like actively pushing because I'm, I'm— and it's like we, we get drowned out, you know. We think that everyone's doing this and everyone's hitting this number and everyone's doing that. So I like literally had to just like put like my, my blockers on and just like stay in my own lane because you can get so overwhelmed by what you see everyone else doing. And then you start thinking that like what you're doing is not enough. And it's like you said, like you just have to like think about what it is that you want, what it is that you want, you know, right now, right now in this moment. And so this week, like just on a personal note, like that's, that's been what I've thought about. I'm like, you know what, I want more time with my kids. I want more time with Daniel. And like, yeah, I want some more money, sure. But it's like, what good is that if my family's not happy, if I'm not happy, if I'm spending more time like in front of my computer than I am actually like with my kids? So it's like, you have to think about what's important to you, you know, because like you said, a lot of those coaches, or not even just coaches, but like even business owners, you know, people that are like in your face, buy this, buy this, buy this. They're coming at it in like this needy way. This, I need this to be happy, even I need this to, to feel like I, I'm successful. I need this. So I think that like, it's so, it's so, so, so needed what you're doing, because what you're going to do is you're going to say like, hey, you can be successful, you can have a business that's successful, you can do what you love, but like, you don't have to be needy and you don't need the money even to make you happy. You You know?
Yeah, no, that's definitely my spin on things. Like, you know, I have a rags-to-riches story for days, but that doesn't make me, you know, my values, my morals, what I stand on is what makes me me, you know? And I feel like if people just take the time and sit with themselves, learn that your confidence is going to come. No one can come and tell you, oh, well, this isn't working, or you can't do that. You already know because you've done the work, you've done the inner work, and that happiness is just gonna shine out, you know, and it just exudes everywhere.
So yeah, yes, you're so right. Okay, so tell us about some of the inner work that has had to happen over the course of the last year since you started your own business.
Um, I would say the, the biggest thing was letting go. I, I had so much emotional blockage from just losing my mom, you know, and being suicidal at one point. I was just at a very dark place. And this year I really wanted to see what would happen if I don't give up on myself, because that was something I did. You know, I didn't have the support or the know-how, so I had to figure everything out on my own. And I'm like, this is a gift because a lot of people wouldn't be able to do the stuff that I can do. So I'm like, why not take that and figure out what needs to be out of my mind? What do I need to stop thinking about in order to bring in that abundance? And as soon as I start doing that, I feel like everything aligned. Like your coaching program with Align and Sign, that was divine timing because I'm like, this is exactly where I'm at. This is energetic match because I know you, I trust you. So I'm like, we're going to soar off together. And it just Ever since then, it's just been climbing to these different measures. And I'm like, holy shit. All I had to do was really just do the inner work, do the shadow work, really figure out what's holding me back, what's keeping me playing small. And once I figured that out, I'm like, let's go in. Let's go 100% in. Why do this if you're not going to go all the way in with it?
Oh my God. There is so much goodness right there. Um, so much goodness. Like, first of all, I am so freaking honored that like you chose to work with me. First of all, like, we're gonna get all sappy on this, but we are. Like, I have just watched you grow so freaking much, and I've grown. Like, you know, I'm thinking back to the coach that I was just 6 months ago. Like, I'm 10 times better than what I was 6 months ago, you know? So, and you, like, dude, I— you're like my freaking, like, my freaking poster child. Like, I was so freaking proud of you, girl. You came into that course like guns blazing and you're like, I got this. And like, sure enough, I think it was like less than 24 hours and you had already like signed a client. I think even like 2 clients that weekend.
Yeah.
And it was like, and it's so right. You, you felt like you were starting from scratch, right? You had been in sales for 10+ years. So you're in sales, you're connecting with people this whole time. And then, and then it like, all it took was you like really believing in yourself and saying like, okay, what happens What would happen if I didn't give up on myself? What would happen if I really went all in? And then like, you just completed your first program from start to finish, your entire program. Like, that is such a huge freaking deal. What did that feel like? Like, what did that feel like? I'm just— I love that.
Oh my God, I cried. Like, our graduation call was nothing but tears. Like, we start off with a dance party. It was a vibe. It was such a vibe. Like, I have such a closeness with those clients, and the whole experience was just learning. I started off with 5, ended with 3, and although the 2 didn't surpass the graduation, I don't have any bad blood with them, which was amazing because that was my first time dealing with things like that. But what I learned was these ladies didn't need to touch necessarily the modules. But they needed the self-realization, the awareness of just their thinking patterns. And they're so gifted on their own. I didn't have to do much. They already connected the dots on their own. They just needed someone to be like, hey, I get you're thinking that way, but what about this one? And they just took it. Just to hear their transformation, it blew me away. I cried the whole time. And I think the biggest thing that got me was one of my clients who were suffering from depression really bad. Like, when I first met her, she just felt defeated, hopeless. She felt like she wasn't a good mom. She had a whole world on her shoulders. And just working with her, helping her realize, like, who are you trying to impress? Yeah, you want to be a mother. The fact that you care, the fact that you know there are things you want to break— let's work with that. Let's start with that, you know? And She said herself, she's like, Lariah, I just feel lighter. I feel happier. I have a better relationship with my kids. And I'm like, holy smokes, I didn't think that was going to happen. I was just trying to help you with your emotional healing. I didn't know it was going to ricochet to everyone else. So the program was so lit.
Like, oh my gosh, that's priceless. Like, that's the kind of stuff that changes her life, that changes her kids' lives, you know? Like, and that's just what she's telling you. Like, we don't see like the little things that are happening, whether it's like her spending more time with them, them like making dinner together, you know, I don't know. But it's like those little things that are like a reaction from her feeling lighter, from her feeling more in control of her emotions and stuff, you know. And that comes from like working with you, from you giving her that safe space. Like, oh my God, but this is, this is literally why I'm obsessed with the work that we do, because it is just like, it's like throwing a stone in the water and you watch it just like ripple out, you know. You just watch the ripple effect from it. And it's like every single person that you touch goes and touches someone else. And then that just goes out and just spreads out as far as who knows, right? So that's why I'm obsessed with what we do. Like, it is the best job, best job, best business, best lifestyle ever. So yeah, obsessed. Okay, so now that you are getting ready to sort of pivot and if you're not in the coaching world, pivot literally means whenever you're just shifting your messaging. Sort of like what happened when I came from relationship coaching into business coaching and sales coaching. So as you're gearing up to do that, what does that look like for you? And I know that like you're literally in the mix of it right now, but for anyone else that is going through this, I know that a lot of entrepreneurs right now are just like shifting their message. Like 2020 has been a fricking like crap storm. You know what I mean? Like it's been crazy. So, so what does that look like for you to, to say, hey, like, this isn't where I'm fully aligned right now, right? The Aligned Coach Academy, Aligned Coach interview series. So that's not fully where I'm aligned. This is what I want to do. What does that process look like?
Um, well, I approached this one super different from the first launch. First launch, it was hustle and bustle. Let's get this out here. Let's get this money. Let's talk to whoever we can. Let's get on the sales calls. Let's fail 1,001 fucking times until we figure it out. Yeah. And I realized that I burnt myself out. It was becoming a pattern because even when I was in retail, I had so many mental health days. And I'm like, this isn't working. I don't want this next launch to be so just depending on whether or not I'm hitting up vanity metrics. I wanted to hit something soulfully. So what I decided to do was do a, like, a legit reflection piece. Look at the, the, um, the launch as a whole and see what worked, what didn't work, what can I do better, how do I want to approach this launch, how do I want to get my message out, do I want to work in a group, do I want to do one-on-one. Like, I asked myself all the questions And I think the biggest thing I did was figure out my why. Because I realized when I was doing the last launch that I often got a little bit overwhelmed with just all the information out there. Not to say that the information that was given was bad, it was all useful things, but I didn't realize how I worked, how my brain operates.
Oh my God.
To figure, to figure that out now and to be like, okay, you know what, this is what works, let's play with it. Now I can have fun. Like, I'm not rushing, I'm not rushing at all. It's not going anywhere, you know. The message is here, God's given me the gift, I can see it. So let's, let's, let's build, let's build the foundational pieces first, then we can get out there, then we can figure out what happens from there. Because I can tell you, like, Lindsay, doing the messy action, it works, but it's like, I cannot sustain that type of lifestyle.
It's a different phase. It's a different season.
Yeah, it's like, okay, as a new coach, I get it. Get out there, get dirty, figure it out. But as you start making moves, it's time to transition into longevity because you're sustainable. Yeah, sustain that. So that's pretty much what I'm on now. It's just getting the resources I need, talking to who I need to talk to, and really pouring into my cup. Oh my God. If I can tell you anything from this, Pour into your cup first. Please do that because you vibrate at a higher level. People see that and they're drawn to that, you know what I'm saying? Because inevitably with coaching, they buy the transformation, but they're buying you. There's a reason. Yes, you know. So, yep, filling my cup first has helped just so much, honestly, figure out like, how can I help other people? How can I serve from this higher caliber versus serving from a scarcity mindset. I'm like, oh my God, so what do I need to say to get her to say yes? You know, so it feels different.
Yeah, going into it with like attachment, like I'm attached to this one person saying yes because this one person will make or break my success, my happiness, my momentum, all of those things, you know. Like, how do you detach from that? How do you do it your way? Because it feels good to you, it's aligned, it's like from your soul, right? So I 100% agree and relate to what you said about, you know, there's a time to hustle, there's a time to get out there and to do all the things and to, you know, get that momentum going. But like, then you have to, like you said, reflect and sit back and say, okay, what feels good to me? What is going to make me show up all over in my entire life as the best possible version as me? Because some people, like, you know, some people can show up every single day and show up on their social media and be 10 out of 10 and like do all, you know, Some people, you know, can, can do the launch from start to finish. It's just different. Like, it really is. It's just different for who you are and what your personality is. And the only way to figure that out is by doing it. The only way to figure it out is by getting in there, getting messy, figuring out what works for you, because what works for you is not going to be what works for someone else, right? And vice versa. So yeah, I love what you said. It's just like the messy action. That's where you have to start. And it's always going to be a series of messy action, right? Like, I'm thinking about as we're going into the new— as, you know, going into the new year, thinking about like, I've got these crazy goals, but I'm like, okay, how can I do this? How— knowing what I know from this year, how do I make that happen without burning out, right? Because it's ridiculous goals. Like, it's crazy, you know, like stuff that I'm like, oh my God. But it's like, I can do this. I know I can. But I just have to think about, okay, like, What's my personality type? How am I going to operate best? How am I going to fill my own cup up? So, so yes. So knowing that as you go into the new year and knowing what you've learned this year, what is like the advice that you're giving to yourself or to even, you know, any other woman, coach, entrepreneur, you know, like what advice would you give them going into the new year? What advice would you give yourself?
Um, well, given myself, I would say approach the new year with flow and ease. You know, anything that's for me, it's going to happen. It always does. It always does. And the minute I start putting restrictions on how I move or putting a certain stamp on it, it just— it gets in a disarray. So approach things with flow and ease. Um, as far as like someone else who's just in this position right now, learn yourself, learn yourself, love yourself, and keep going. Understand that this is not a race, you know. This isn't like, okay, once you hit to this, once you hit the goal of getting a client, it doesn't stop there. It's just like you said, new level, new devil. You're gonna always hit a new level in your life which requires a different set of amount of challenges that you need to be able to emotionally deal with as a business owner. So I would say really get to know yourself. Know what works for you. What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? What are you willing to do to change things for yourself? Is it worth it for you to do everything you need to do? Like, yeah, you gotta do that work. You gotta sit with yourself because it is so easy to get sucked up into the idealistic world, especially as adults. You know, we want the lifestyle, we want the freedom, but at what cost? You know, you don't want to sell your damn soul just to say you're making $100K. It doesn't make any sense. And that's when you see a lot of the celebrities or the coaches being really upset and just unhappy having all this money, but you can tell they're not happy, you know. And, and I want to really preach the, the method of that inner happiness, that, that soulful move for you to really take what life has to offer, because You can't take this shit with you when you die. You can't. So why not enjoy the process now? Really embody what it means to love on yourself now, and then everything else will happen for you the way it's supposed to.
Yeah, you're 100% right. It's easy to get caught up in the shoulds. I should be doing this. I should be doing it that way. I should be here, right? And then it's like a spiral from there. So yeah, you're 100% right about that. What would you say has been like the best things to happen to you since you came into, you know, running your own business and like figuring it out? And now that like you've just undergone this total like transformation yourself, you know, like what is like, and just like lifestyle-wise, like what are the best parts of like what you do?
Well, I'm a simple, simple gal when it comes to stuff. Like, I just like the freedom of being able to hang around my house with just basketball shorts on. I like that. I like to be able to flip on Netflix at 3 o'clock in the afternoon and binge watch some stuff and nothing's about to burn down. Bills are still being paid. No one's losing their shit. I'm not getting phone calls. Hey, Lariah, someone called off. Can you come in? I love that. Um, I would say the biggest thing though is just my family and, and my significant other. Like, their mentality is changing and growing with me, and I didn't intend for that to happen. Like, in my relationship, my boyfriend is just taking off in his career endeavors. He thinks more, he's very aware, he's very intuitive, and he believes now. Because when I first met him, he was like Manifestation, meditation. What's that? I'm like, dude, watch, I'm going to show you. You're going to be a believer by the end of this. And he gets more excited for me about my sales calls than I do. He's like, oh my God, who are you talking to today? Oh my goodness, you're going to own it, babe. So it's awesome to see that support. And just with my family, my family, I'm going to be honest, it just comes from dysfunction. And they weren't taught how to love or receive love. Seeing me grow and prosper like that, I constantly get inboxes from them saying, Lariah, you're doing a good job. You motivated me to start my own business. Oh, right. Like, it's the ricochet of just me owning who I am and people knowing where I came from. And they're like, if Lariah can do it, I can do it. That shit hits different because it's like, you don't have to come from unlimited amount of resources to make something happen for yourself. Just gotta want it and, and be able to say like, hey, I'm gonna sacrifice the things that I need to to have it. And like, it's just spreading in my family and my friends, and I'm like, oh my God, this is a whole movement behind this.
So yeah, wow, it's the ripple effect, right? It's not just the clients, and it's not just with the people that you're directly working with. It, it affects the people around you. Yeah, I had a girl message me, um, It was someone that used to work with Daniel. She messaged me probably like 2 months ago and she's like, Lindsay, like, I just want you to know that from like seeing your posts and seeing what you're doing, it motivated me to like go out and start my own insurance sales business. And it had nothing to do with coaching, but it was just like the coolest freaking thing to see that like just by me showing up and just like living my life, it motivated her. And she's like, like you said, if Lariah can do it, I can do it. She's like, if Lindsay can do it, like I can do it. So I like, that's one of the best parts to me is, is like the people and the results that you don't, that you don't even like intentionally make happen. Like they happen, you know, the people that are texting you and they're like, wow, like I love seeing your stories or I love to see your videos. Like I'm so freaking happy for you. And you know, that's awesome. Like those are the things that like are just a direct result of you being you, you know, of you just showing up in your best most aligned energy, right? Um, so, so I want to know if you could go back and if you could change anything— and everyone always says I wouldn't change anything, but like seriously, like if we could change anything without taking away all the life lessons, or like do something differently, you know, whether it's like a feeling or like a belief or, um, I don't know, like an attitude or like a decision, like I don't know, what would you do differently?
That's a good one.
I know, and everyone's always like, I wouldn't change anything, but I'm like, come on now, like, let's get out.
Um, I would say for me, I, I wish— and this is back like 18-year-old Lariah when she was getting ready to get out there and get dirty— uh, yeah, I wish, I wish I, uh, would have changed my belief system on just acknowledging that it's okay to be myself. Um, because I struggle. Like, I know people meet me now and they're like, Lariah, you, you just come off naturally. Like, it's just, this is your vibe. And I'm like, yeah, but it took a long damn time to get here. And I came from a situation where I allowed family and friends to dictate how I move, how I thought, what I did. And I, because I feared being judged all the time because because that's how it was for me. The way I spoke was very different from my family, the way I carried myself, and I got bullied for that. And I took that on as an adult and didn't realize, you know, moving on in my adulthood that I'm still carrying all this, this stuff that is not me. Like, it's a mask, you know? So I would say to my 18-year-old self, like, it's okay to be yourself. It's okay to shine your light. You don't have to dim it. You know, the people who are for you, they will vibe with you. The people who aren't, don't be afraid to let them go. But that's what I would say because I had a really hard time just letting people go that wasn't for me. But I just was like, I have to keep them around. They've been here since grade school. They're my family members. No, for what cost? If I'm going to still feel like shit having this person around, No. Why?
Yeah, we can put it into like business talk. And is the return on the investment— is it making sense, right? Like, is, is the cost outweighing the benefit, you know? And if it is, like, cut it off.
Exactly.
I know it sounds so harsh, but you can love them from a distance, you know? You just, you put up those healthy boundaries and you take care of yourself and you say, I love you and I love that we had this experience together and that was a, you know, a sacred time in my life. But now I'm here and you're there, and that's okay, right?
Yeah, I had to learn that too because I took it— I took it pretty hard when I had to like do away with some of the relationships. And I'm like, they're out here being friends with this person, they don't love me. You know, it was— it was me, and I'm gonna kill— I'm gonna claim it. I definitely was just swimming on in that victim mentality for a while. But coaching really helped mature me in a way that I didn't see happening. I'm like, holy smokes, I cannot continue to keep going into this with this mentality thinking I'm going to attract these high vibe people when I'm vibrating at a low vibration right now. So it was a tenfold kind of like figuring out the beliefs and working through them. Yeah.
Wow, that's good right there. Okay, so if we could go back, we would. Step into the belief that like it's okay to be yourself. So you know what I have felt though? Like I think about— because I like, I've dealt with that too, and I have found though that it, it's taken me time to give myself permission to change who I am. So, you know, like as you stepped out of the retail role, or as you stepped away from your family and friends, you know, it wasn't always necessarily like about what, what they were going to think. It was also like this guilt that you dealt with changing. So it's like, it's okay for you to change. It's okay for you to change your mind. Like, I freaking changed college majors 7 times, you know. Like, I quit college, had a baby, got married, like, did all these things that I said that I would never do, right? Like, because that wasn't me and I had these goals. So I think that, like, you have to give yourself permission to change and to change your mind. If not, like, it's like you're fighting against yourself, you know. Mm-hmm.
And you, you hit it right in the head, like giving yourself permission to change, just giving yourself permission to do whatever you want to do. Like, I was just so used to being that kid where I do what I'm told, I, I don't question it, that's what the authority told me to do, so let's get with it. Because everyone around me was so destructive, and I just wanted to be that one kid who had it right. Yep. I wanted to be that one kid that my mom or my dad or my grandma could brag about, not realizing that I'm putting unnecessary stress on myself to be perfect. And then when I did have issues, no one believed me. They were like, oh, Lari, you're the strong girl. You got this. And it's like, but I hurt too. I'm a human too. So I had to kind of understand that I did build some bridges up that I unintentionally did. Because I was trying to be something for someone that I really wasn't. So when I give myself permission to actually fully be me, that's when things started changing in my life. And I'm like, oh, well, this is easy. I like it over here.
Absolutely. You became the glue or like the trophy child or the overachiever of the family. And it's like, yeah, they might all be dysfunctional, but like me, I'm normal.
I'm good.
Yeah. So then it's like people, they think that you always have your shit together. And so yeah, you keep this unrealistic expectation on yourself. Yeah, been there, girl. I swear we're so— we're so alike. Like, I swear every single time we talk, I'm like, girl, I know how that is. Like, I've been there. Like, I like— and we show up, we have them the same freaking color today. I swear, I swear we're like twins. So I— okay, so as we are wrapping up the year, this is a question I asked in my group, in the group today. You saw it. Um, what are you most proud of yourself for? Like, what if— what are you just like, you know what, I did that, I did this, I am this? Like, what would you, you know, just say that you're the most proud of yourself for?
I would say reversing my depression, hands down. Um, because this year was heavy for me outside of the whole C19 debt and stuff like that. Like, I really was in a dark spot. I'm like, I don't want to do this anymore. I'm tired of fighting to, to feel something. I didn't know what my purpose was. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And that all stemmed into this ball of just depression where I could not get myself out of the bed and I just wanted to give up. And between prayer and meditation and honestly having the support that I had, I pulled myself up out of that. And to me, that shit is so strong and that is so courageous and bold because I never thought I would get to that point. I've seen people around me get to that point.. But I got to that point, I'm like, oh shit, now I got to get out of this. And the biggest thing that kind of motivated me was my mom. My mom was just a strong suited woman, but one thing that she lacked was just allowing people to put their hands on her and help her out. So I had to kind of learn that it's okay to get support. It's okay to do things that you need to do. To make you feel better, um, that's not destructive. And I just carried that light. I carried that light through emotional detox, um, I carried that light through this new program, and I just carry that light now throughout my life. It's like I came from such a low low, and now I'm just feeling so heightened and so inspired to just give this message out to people. That is like, how do you not get excited about that? Like, that That is a whole 360 in under 9 months. Like, you don't get those type of results like that. And I'm just grateful. I'm just— I'm so grateful that, you know, God allowed me to push through that because honestly, it was a point where I'm like, I don't know if I can do this, but something in me was like, keep going, just keep going. Don't give up on yourself.
I would literally hug you right now if I could. If I could. And I'm so fucking glad that you did. Like, I'm so glad that you did push yourself out of that and you did listen to God and you did do the work and you kept going and you took the chance on yourself and you said, okay, what if I do just commit myself to this? What if I just give myself one more chance?
Yes, that's how I feel. Like, I was on my last straw and I'm like, let's just try everything we possibly can because I would give up, you know. I've done the therapy and just was kind of like, I'm not finding anyone that matches me. And found someone to match me off of the first try this year, and holy smokes, it was just— everything just changed in the matter of months, like so quickly. And even, even my boyfriend was like, wow, like things are happening really quickly. So I just learned to go with the flow, man, and I'm just so happy to be at this spot because it feels better. It really does feel—
yeah. And that's going to go forward in your work, you know, and in your life and in your relationships. And, and, you know, we're talking about the ripple effect. Even like, you've been a bomb-ass coach and a bomb-ass person, but like, now that you really feel that light and you feel like, holy crap, like, look what I've done this, this year, and now you even have more of that light and it's even brighter, right? Like Now that gets to go forward into the world. Oh, it's so good. Yes. So tell us, if someone wanted to speak with you, whether that was through mindset coaching, sales coaching, if they're curious about what it's like to work with you, um, what would be the next step for them? How could they, how could they look into that?
Yeah, so if you're curious about, you know, learning more about my services definitely, um, reach out to me on Instagram. My handle is Lariah Lanee, or you can reach out on Facebook too. I'm on Facebook, Lariah Smith, and, um, DM me. We can have a conversation and kind of go from there.
I love it. It's so chill. It's just like, let's just talk.
Let's just talk. Yeah, that's, that's literally how I do it. I don't— you know, sometimes you got to meet people where they're at, and even if you don't work work together, I'm going to give you tips because at the end of the day, if you're coming to me, that means you're ready and you're needing help. So why not do that? Even if you don't want to work with me, we can still figure out something where you're supported because that's how I get down. Support is my number one thing because I wish I had that when I was going into this. So if I can give it, I'm going to give it.
Yeah, I love that. Oh, it's so good. Yes. Anyone that works with you, like, this is it. This is Lariah all day. Supportive, freaking so easy to talk to. Like, I know that whoever comes to you, and especially the girls that just wrapped up in your program, but I just, I can't wait to see what you do. Like, I cannot wait to see what you do in this, like, and wrapping it all together. It's like, how do you take the emotional piece, you wrap it in with the business and the sales piece? Like, I cannot wait to watch it. Cannot wait to watch it unfold.
I can't wait to unfold, honey.
So good, so good. Okay, so Yes, if y'all want to get in touch with Lariah, reach out on Facebook or Instagram. Um, and yeah, we will see you all next time. Thank you so much for coming on, Lariah. This has been amazing.
Thank you for inviting me.
