"SEASON 2" Episode 80: INTEGRATION VS. ACCELERATION
5 Apr 2024 · 8 min
In this solo episode, Lindsay Baddio announces the relaunch of her podcast under the new name "Unreasonable" after an 18‑month hiatus. She explains that the rebrand reflects both a personal transformation and a shift in focus toward audacious, "unreasonable" goals. Central to the episode is her "integration vs. acceleration" framework: integration is the phase of learning, experimenting, and internalizing new ideas, while acceleration is the phase of applying that knowledge to generate tangible results—whether financial, spiritual, or physical. Lindsay reflects on spending the past year in the integration phase and now feeling poised on the cusp of acceleration. She outlines the new season’s format: short, actionable solo episodes with occasional expert interviews, designed to deliver quick, applicable insights. The episode also recounts the podcast’s origins as the "Aligned Coach Interview Series" launched during the COVID‑19 pandemic, highlighting her love for interviewing coaches and mentors. Listeners are invited to engage via her social media handles (Facebook and Instagram @Lindsay.Baddio) and are challenged with the mantra "Why not?" to pursue their own unreasonable visions.

Hello to Unreasonable with Lindsay Baddio. That's me. Hello. Hi everyone. Welcome back to the podcast. So it has been a long time since we've released a new episode. It's been about 18 months. And what has happened? A lot has happened since then. Uh, let's see, I think our last episode was released in October of 2022, uh, which feels like a lifetime ago. So it is now April of 2024, and I am so excited to be releasing new episodes. And not only am I releasing new episodes, but we have really a rebrand. A rebrand not just in the name of the podcast, going from Aligned and Wealthy but moving into this new brand of Unreasonable, uh, but a rebrand in so much. I, I feel like it's like a personal and like this emotional, like this, this internal rebrand that has also occurred in the last 18 months. So much, uh, growth, so much immersion. And really, I, I would even— I would say, you know, life and business and entrepreneurship and growth, it's— you're either going through one of two phases. You're in one of two phases in life at all times. You're either in a place of integration— so I am integrating what I'm learning, I am learning, I am in the thick of the things right now, and I'm not even sure what I'm learning, you know, and I'm going through it. And you're just moving through it, you know, whatever that looks like. It looks different for all of us and in different seasons of our life. Um, and you're integrating those things, and you're in this place of figuring it out and exploring, and you're really just moving through it. Or you're in a place of acceleration. So you're either in an integration or acceleration. And acceleration is where you take all that integration and you're able to put it to work for you. You're able to monetize on it, either in a literal format, in a literal sense of making money from it, or in a spiritual or mental or physical sense where you're able to monetize from all that integration that you've done, all the hard work, all the long days or long nights or headaches or whatever it is. You know, you just, you just been putting in the work. Like, it's working out. It's like going to the gym and you're integrating all the workout plans and the meal planning and the meal prep. And then the acceleration is like, wow, I see results now. So every time I go to the gym, I feel like I'm on fire. I got my workout plan set. Like, it's like routine now. I know this like the back of my hand. And that's whenever you're in the place of acceleration. So for me personally, the last 18 months have been the integration. Has it been the integration? I remember probably 9 months ago. Yeah, I would say 12 to 9, like 9 to 12 months ago, being in this place of, I know that I am on the verge. Like, I am just sitting right here right now. I've been in the thick of it for about a year, and I just know that I'm sitting on the cusp. I'm sitting on the edge, on the cliff of this just greatness. I just knew that, like, I didn't know what it was. I couldn't put my hand on it. I couldn't put my finger on it. I couldn't even tell you where that feeling came from, but I just knew that there was a shift that was occurring. And that's because I was literally in the middle of integration. I was in the middle of, of this reformulation of how I thought and how I operated and the expectations, not the expectations that I had for myself, but the expectation or the standard at which I knew I was capable of. Uh, which really kind of brings us to what this podcast is all about. And it's about having unreasonable, crazy, audacious goals and vision for your life. It's having this vision for your life, your business, your family, um, your legacy, this unreasonable legacy or business, and, and going after it, you know, going straight forward with it and failing forward. So yeah, welcome, welcome to, to this new season. Welcome to this new season of acceleration. Welcome to this new season of where I am so excited to just be sharing all of these takeaways in real time, in the moment, uh, lessons and, um, just, just things that I am learning every single day. I actually just told, um, my friend and mentor a few days ago, I said I wish that I had a, like, a camera or a voice recorder that I could just like follow around with me every day and it would just record the things that I say, and then someone else could come along and like turn that into content, or they could like get it out to the world or whatever. Because I just amaze myself sometimes with some of the things that I share with my clients, or, um, you know, like in just in coaching calls and in client calls and, and live streams and all these things that I do on a daily basis. I just— yeah, I share a lot of really cool stuff that I want to get out there. So this podcast is me welcoming you to my side of the world and what it is that I'm doing over here. 'cause we do a lot and we move really, really fast. And I hope that I can share those takeaways with you. So you can expect going forward lots of solo episodes from me, short, sweet, simple, to the point that you can go and apply, take some golden nuggets from it, take some things from it, go and apply, share with a friend, share with a peer, coworker, someone with you, share with a teammate, and they can apply to their life with a couple of guest or expert interviews in between. That's actually how I launched this podcast. So funny story, I launched this podcast back in 2020, I believe, or maybe it was 2021. No, it was the big— it was the end. It was like December of 2020 of COVID I remember, um, it was called the Aligned Coach Interview Series, and I talked to business coaches, consultants, wellness coaches, practitioners, just these really awesome coaches and mentors from all over the world. And we did this series and I fell in love with interviewing and with being— and I'm so curious just by nature. I'm very curious. Um, and just really fell in love with interviewing and hearing from others. So that's how this podcast actually started. And yeah, I'm definitely going to have some of that, but you're mostly going to have some short bite-sized episodes along the way. Okay. So if there's ever anything that you want to hear specifically, if you ever have specific questions, reach out to me on Facebook, Lindsay Baddio. You can just search me, or on Instagram at Lindsay.Baddio, and I would be happy to hear from you, hear what your takeaways are. And if there's ever anything that you want me to cover in the podcast, I would love to hear from you and, uh, what could support you the most. So I will sign off by asking you this question: why not? Why not? Why not you? Why not the goal? Why not the crazy thing that you want? Why not the thing that's on your vision board? Why not the podcast that you've been wanting to launch? Why not say the thing that you've been wanting to say? Why not? Because I think that that is the precursor to everything, um, that comes after that. So for any unreasonable goal or any unreasonable vision that you have, what, what one would deem as unreasonable, the very first question that you have to ask yourself is why not? Okay, so I will see you all in the next episode. Thanks for hanging out with me, and I look forward to growing and learning and, uh, and yeah, just and keeping on keeping on. All right, see you in the next episode.
