In this YouTube video, Lois Letchford introduces herself as the author of Reversed: A Memoir and reads Jack Palutski's poem "I'm a Crotchety Witch" from the collection Monday's Troll Dragon Poems. She recites the whimsical, self‑deprecating verses of a solitary witch, highlighting the poem's quirky imagery and the absurd birthday celebration. Throughout the reading, Lois repeatedly asks viewers what the word “crotchety” means, inviting them to reflect on its definition. After the poem, she closes with a standard call‑to‑action, urging viewers to like, subscribe, hit the notification bell, and consider purchasing or reviewing her memoir. The video blends literary performance, a brief linguistic query, and self‑promotion.

Hello, I'm Lois Letchford, author of the book Reverse to Memoir and literacy problem solver, reading from Jack Palutski's Monday's Troll Dragon Poems. And this one is called I'm a Crotchety Witch. What's the word crotchety mean? I wonder if you can get to the end and find out and think about what it means. I'm a crotchety witch living all by myself. I haven't one crony. Not ogre nor elf, no wizard nor warlock drops by for the stay. Hobgoblins avoid me. I like it that way. My rooms are suffused with a perennial gloom. I never go out. I've retired my broom. I don't even bother to boil a few brews. So I'm not to blame if there's ooze in your shoes. Today is my birthday. I baked a stale cake. Instead of a candle, I stuck in a snake. I've turned 30,303. The snake snuck away. Happy birthday to me. Thank you. What does it mean? What does crotchety mean? Hit like, hit subscribe, hit the bell for notifications. Grab a copy of my book, Reversed: A Memoir, and please leave a review. Thank you. Stay in touch.
