In this YouTube video, narrator Isaac Letchford reads aloud Book 3 of the Narwhal series, titled “Narwhal, Peanut Butter & Jelly – A Sweet & Salty Story.” The reading dramatizes a playful conversation between Narwhal, who claims he only eats waffles, and his friend Jelly (Jilly). Jelly offers Narwhal a peanut‑butter cookie, prompting a humorous exchange filled with absurd taste comparisons (strawberry waffles, stir‑fried licorice, pickles) and a series of “no‑pe” food denials. The dialogue escalates with Narwhal’s stubborn refusal to try anything other than waffles, Jelly’s persuasive offers, and a brief allergy‑awareness aside referencing the “Allergic Aquatic Animals Awareness Association.” After a tentative bite, Narwhal enthusiastically declares the cookie both sweet and salty, ending with exaggerated “nom” sounds. The video blends storytelling, comedic wordplay, and a subtle safety reminder, delivering an entertaining reading for children.

G'day, I am reading book 3 of Narwhal. It's called Narwhal, which is crossed out, Peanut Butter and Jelly. Page 5, A Sweet and Salty Story. Oi, Jelly! What is that small strange waffle you're eating? No, Narwhal, this is not a waffle. It is a peanut butter cookie. As you can see, he's got one of his tentacles around Peanut butter? That sounds funny. What is it? What? You never heard of peanut butter? Does it taste like a waffle? Like strawberries? Pickles? Stir-fried licorice? No, no, it— Stir-fried licorice? I guess. Maybe it tastes like stir-fried pickle licorice on strawberry waffles. Yuck! Have you actually eaten something like that before? No, not really. Actually, I pretty much eat— only eat waffles. Phew! Wait a minute, only waffles? Yup! You only eat waffles? That can't be true! What about spaghetti? You must have had spaghetti before. But— what? Tea? Seriously? What about ice cream? Nope. That is just wrong! Pizza? Nope. Mashed potatoes? Is that anything like mashed waffles? Mashed waffles? Um, really? You must have said something other than waffles! Cake? Apples? Cheese? Pies? Artichokes? Marshmallows? Guacamole? Uh, sushi? French fries? Nopey-dee, nope. Narwhal, you can't just eat only waffles! Here, try this peanut butter cookie. Why? Have you ever heard of too much of a good thing? That's silly. How can you have too many waffles? Right, never mind. But maybe you'll like this cookie even more than waffles. Hehe, good one, Jelly. Nothing is better than a waffle. Well, how do you know unless you try it? Thanks, Jilly, but I think I'll stick with waffles. Just one little bite? I'll tell— I tell you what, I'll make you an extra large waffle if you just try this peanut butter cookie. Well, that's not very hard to really accomplish with. How big would this extra large waffle be? Even bigger than you. Well, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try a nibble. Hurt? Wait, some people allergic to peanut butter. You aren't allergic to peanut butter, are you, Narwhal? Allergic? Don't think so. But I once knew a seahorse who couldn't eat waffles. It was the saddest thing I've ever heard. Yet she swore she was happy so long as she could eat gummy bears. The allergic aquatic Animals Awareness Association advises caution when trying to eat a common allergen. Here I go, one teeny tiny taste. So, what do you think? Oh, he likes it! Look, look at his eyes. It's fantastic! So sweet! Nom nom nom. So salty! Nom nom nom nom nom. It's yummy! It's scrumptious! Nom nom. It's yumptious! It's— it's all gone. Whoops.
