And I know for some people that might sound absolutely Insane to spend $6,000 on one day, but I'm telling you, for me it felt like an absolute no brainer. I'm going to take you behind the scenes and share with you what it was like meeting my mentor that has been coaching me throughout this entire year and getting a chance to meet her in real life. What we did, what we discussed, the insights that came out of it, the clarity I now have in my business plan, what mentorship means to me and why I think it's so valuable and why I think mentorship and coaching has changed the trajectory of my entire life. I want to talk with you a little bit about why I think betting on yourself is absolutely crucial to success. And then of course we are going to get into all things Taylor Swift. I'm going to share with you how the heck I manifested going to the ERAS tour and literally turning my vision board into reality. Honestly, it is a crazy story and what I think about Taylor Swift now after going to the ERAS tour. So let's get into it all. This is Busy Getting Better, the podcast for women who are committed to prioritizing their own personal growth. I'm your host, Madison J. A mindset and money coach, a first generation wealth builder and a woman on a mission to help you master your finances and live your best life. Money is not all we are covering though because in order to live your best life you have to become your best self. So we are diving deep into all things personal development and bringing you the mindset shifts, money, tips and inspiration. You need to go out there, be bold and build the life you can't stop daydreaming about. It's time to get busy babe. Busy getting better. All right babe, let's chat about it. $6,000 on one day. I know that might sound insane and I think, well I know honestly me years ago would have thought that it was an absolute waste and could not comprehend spending $6,000 on one freaking day. But let me tell you why. I knew it was an absolute no brainer and when the opportunity came up I jumped on it instantly because what this day meant was I was going to get an entire day with my business mentor to do a total deep dive my business on the roadmap, ask all the questions that I needed help with, go through my messaging, go through my launch strategy, literally Everything like my entire vision for my business I got to put on display in front of somebody that has built a seven figure business in the last four years, understands all of the strategies that I'm trying to implement and could give me actually personalized, individualized advice for everything that I'm trying to build and everything that I'm trying to accomplish. I that to me, crazy, crazy, crazy deal on top of that. Yes, the ERAS tour was a part of the VIP day. So I got to spend all day with my coach going through my business, going through my strategy, and then we got to end the day together going to Taylor Swift and going to the ERAS tour, which has been on my vision board all freaking year. Like I knew I was going to be there. But I'll get into more about how I manifested that later. I want to talk about specifically the power of coaching and why this was a no brainer for me. Because when you can get personalized advice from somebody who can give you an unbiased and an objective opinion on what it is that you're trying to accomplish and see your business and see your goals from a different perspective, that is so valuable. And I have a lot of stuff I'm trying to accomplish and have really big vision for this business that I'm trying to build. And it's really nice to have somebody that just gets gets it that you can talk about your, you can talk about your big goals with and not feel like you're crazy for trying to attain them and talk about your big goals with someone who has accomplished something even bigger than what you have accomplished so that you know, one, that it's possible and two, they are like, hell yeah, you could do that. Here is X, Y and Z of what you need to do to get there. So just being in the mindset and the mentality with someone that knows what you're trying to do and can help you game plan to get there and, and can help you expedite the process and can make you feel like, yes, this is absolutely attainable. We know that mindset is the biggest factor when it comes to accomplishing goals, especially in entrepreneurship, when you're trying to build a business, like it's all mindset. Entrepreneurship is you versus you. And so to have confidence and clarity in what I'm trying to build and have somebody who has done what I'm trying to do be like, yes, this is a good plan, this is gonna work. Here's what you need to do to make it work. Here's the places that you are gonna have to pour in more energy. Here's the places where maybe you shouldn't focus on yet. Like that to me is invaluable. I also think there is something to be said about being in the energy, in being connected to these people that have done what you're trying to do. There's so much power there. And so being able to just talk it all out was really valuable. I also think sometimes, obviously when we talking about money, talking about these big goals, sometimes to talk about these things with people that don't get what you're trying to do, it can sound one insane and it can also sound braggy, it can sound cocky. Like there's all these emotions that come up when we talk about monetary goals and building businesses. And so to be able to have such a safe space to talk about what I was trying to do with somebody that has already accomplished what I'm going after. After is just something that you can't put a price tag on. Being able to have those open conversations and have that support system. So getting to have that time with my coach was I have a big goal, I have a big vision, I have a big impact I want to make. But there's a lot of little itty bitty steps, a little things in the minutiae that are really important to making sure you can actually get there. And I know that for the next 18 months I'm going to be all in on my business and it's going to require a lot of my work ethic and motivation and vision and dedication. And so I think just being able to have confidence in the plan that I'm going after and be able to have someone look at it and be like, okay, this is great, you need to stretch yourself here. Hey, I think you might be being a little bit too, I don't know if ambitious is the right word, but just trying to set level, set realistic expectations. Because what I've noticed that one of the hardest things that is happening right now is not knowing like what realistic expectations are, right? Leaving corporate, leaving a sales job, it's like, here's your objective, go get it right in this world. It's really just like you're creating your own goals, you're creating your own objectives and you're creating your own standards. And so being able to have somebody look at what I'm trying to go after and just give me the perspective that they have from being in the industry longer than I have and accomplishing the goals already that I'm going after is just a peace of mind. It's really what it is. It's a peace of mind and it's a good solid roadmap now that I have to follow. And this is why I think mentorship is so cool to me, it's so important and there's so much value. There's literally endless information on the Internet. You can go find whatever information you want to find via the Google, via ChatGPT. Like the information is endless, but what you can't find on there is personalized advice, guidance, support, competence, mindset, work. All of the things to make sure that the plan that you're going after is is one that actually is supportive of you and your goals and the vision that you are trying to create. And that is why I think mentorship and coaching is one of the most invaluable things that you can invest. I have been in and out of different coaching containers and mentorships for the last 18 months now. And the way that my entire life has changed, the entire trajectory of my goals has changed in the last 18 months. Like, I It's crazy because when you start to work with people that have an outside perspective and can help you see gaps and can also help you show the way to get to your goals, there's just not enough positive things I could say about that. And I think that is the most impactful thing I've done for myself, for my own personal development, my own personal growth, for the visions of the life I wanna live. Like, I feel like I owe it to myself. I owe it to this vision of this future that I see, of this life that I wanna live. I of these experiences that I want to have, of this impact I want to make, of this legacy I want to leave, of the life I want to live. Like I owe it to myself to go after that stuff and to do everything in my power to make it a reality. And what coaching has done and what mentorship has done over the last 18 months has made me feel so confident that as long as I don't get in my own way, I know I can make it happen. Because I've watched and learned from people that have made it happen for themselves. And. And that is what is so powerful. Our brain is so much more likely to be able to find solutions if we believe that it is possible, if our brain does not believe it's possible, if our brain hasn't seen proof that what we're trying to build or the life that we want to live, or the goal that we want to accomplish, if we don't know that it's possible our brain is not going to problem solve as hard to get there. And so the more that you can put yourself into rooms and into environments and get exposed, exposed and learned from people that have done what you want to do, the more powerful it's gonna be because your brain is like, okay, well, what the heck? If that person built that life, if that person accomplished that goal, then I know it's possible. So now it's not. Is this possible? It's gonna be, how do I build the steps? How do I get the mindset? How do I get the strategy and the habits to get to where I want to go? And so mentorship has changed so much for me. And obviously that's why I'm now creating this space for other people. Because it was like, okay, now let me go help other people. The way that people have poured into me all that to say mentorship and coaching has changed so much for me and I believe in it so much. And so being able to invest in myself again in this capacity to go spend a day with my coach, to get true guidance and support on my roadmap for the next 12 to 18 months. Invaluable. Invaluable. Worth every freaking dollar. And then some of what I spent. So, yeah, that's my thoughts on mentorship and the power of coaching. If you are somebody who feels called to building your next level life, if you are somebody who hears what I have to say about coaching and mentorship and wonders what that could look like for you and what that impact could be like for your life and your goals. I want to help you on that journey. I want to get a chance to be a part of that for you and be able to pour into you the way that so many others have poured into me. So. So I am going to link a super quick application in the show notes of this show. Check it out, see if it's something that makes sense for you. I am currently booking into Q1 of 2025 so we could start the year together on all of your goals. So if that's something that you're interested in, I definitely would love to talk more about what that could look like. Now let me tell you what it was like to actually go meet this mentor that I had been working with online since March. I'm not gonna lie, I was kind of nervous at first. I was like, wow, I can show up. Well, I hope that we get along. I hope that this is valuable for both of us and a really great day. I don't think we could have Had a bad time, but there was definitely a little bit of nerves heading into it. But as soon as I got the chance to meet Sam, it was like everything just was. We are just so similar. We are a similar age. We are both obviously have big goals, big vision, big impact that we want to make. And so it was honestly just like getting to sit down with a girlfriend who understood what I was trying to do and could just talk so freely and open about all of the concerns I was having, the roadblocks I was feeling coming up, the things I just didn't know how to navigate. It felt like such a safe space to be able to talk about all those things. So it was great. So we met up at a hotel in Hollywood, Florida, a super cute bougie hotel. We grabbed breakfast at the hotel and then what we did for majority of the day is we got to go sit at a cabana out by the pool. You could see the beach off to one side, you could see the pool on the other side. And it was the most beautiful, beautiful day in Florida. I had been down there for a couple days already, and the weather the other two days, not that great, gray, gloomy, rainy. So I was kind of nervous that we were going to be sitting by the pool and it was going to be really shitty weather. But thankfully it was not. It was the most beautiful day. So we were just literally sitting by the beach in our bikinis with our laptops, talking business. It was like a dream freaking day. It was so fun. We eventually took a little break and ran out on the beach, enjoyed jumping around in the ocean, got some B roll, took some photos. It was just a lovely, perfect day, working on my business and brainstorming everything that I had coming up and everything that I wanted to work on. So what I will say is I am proud of the way that I prepared for this day because I knew for a couple months I was going to have this day. And I had so many ideas for my business. But what I really wanted to do was bring as much tangible proof of what I was trying to accomplish. So before heading into this day with her, I did a lot of road mapping of what I wanted my business to look like for the next 18 months, really through 2025, and kind of worked backwards, breaking it down into more digestible goals. That's what I do with my clients. It's also what I do with myself. So I really practice what I preach here. And I broke it down into a way that was like, hey, you know, here's my main focus for the rest of the year. Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4. So I had a good idea of kind of what I wanted to go in with so I could get her perspective. What I also did was get even more clear on the products in my product suite so that I could get a lot of actual feedback on, hey, here is what this product is, here's the transformation it's going to provide. Here's the problem that I want it to solve. Here is the messaging for it. Here is the ideal client for it. So a lot of that foundational work for a course I'm creating, my one on one coaching and a group coaching program. So I've got three products in my product suite. It's going to take time to get everything out into the world, but I have a vision for it and so I wanted to get really clear on all of that stuff and just get feedback. She helped me get really clear on like, okay, if this is your strategy and this is your revenue goal, here is what you're gonna have to do over the next 12 to 18 months. Like, are you ready? Next year is a lot of groundwork. We got a lot of groundwork to put in, but I'm excited. And again, now that I have the clarity and the conf and the game plan, it makes it so much easier to take the next step because I know that it will work as long as I continue to move forward and do the things that need to get done. It's just me versus me right now. The only thing standing in the way between me and accomplishing my goals is me. And if you know me by now, you know I'm not going to let myself be the reason that I don't get to bring this vision to life. A big way to get around that is to have confidence in the plan, which is what I gained out of this day with her and this experience. So I prepared a lot for it, which felt really good. She helped me elevate some messaging in some certain areas and just helped me think of different ways to just elevate the experience for my one on one clients. Because my one on one coaching is really the foundation of my business right now and what is bringing me a lot of joy in how I work with people. So that is what I'm focused on heavily for the next 12 to 18 months is that one on one coaching. And so we got to get really clear on different components of that and how I can really elevate the experience for my clients and make it a really awesome experience for them. So that was really a lot of the stuff that we went through. My biggest takeaways from this day and really if I'm looking back and reflecting on all of the mentorships and the coaching containers that I have been in, whether they've been one on one, whether they've been group is just knowing when to bet on yourself. And I think betting on yourself is so, so, so crucial to success. You have to see your vision before anybody else is going to see it. You have to believe in yourself before anybody else is going to believe in you. And you have to take risks and you have to take leaps before there is proof that it's going to work. That is just part of the game. No matter what it is that you are trying to accomplish, whether you are trying to get your finances in order, whether you are trying to go after a new job, if you are trying to get a raise in your current job, if you are trying to start a business, if you are trying to write a book, if you want to start a podcast, the list goes on. You need to see the vision, you need to bet on yourself and you've got to jump before you feel ready. It's always going to feel scary, it's always going to feel stretchy. But if you don't have the vision and the confidence to bet on yourself and first, how can you expect other people to bet on you too? You have to believe in yourself first in order for other people to believe in you too. We all have gaps, we all have work that needs to be done. No one's going to see the vision the way that you see it. So you got to get clear on that and you've got to be willing to make risks and you've got to be willing to bet on yourself. And if you're not at a point where you feel like you can bet on yourself, figure out why that is. Most of the times if we're not willing to bet on ourselves, it's because we don't have the self confidence in ourselves. If you do the work and you know that you're not going to be the person that stops you from accomplishing your goals, then you're going to bet on yourself. Because that is the thing that you're betting on essentially your mindset, your determination, your work ethic, everything else you can figure out. Everything else you can pay to get guidance on, you can pay to outsource, you can get the support to close the skills gaps. As long as you have the self confidence and the self trust in yourself. So getting to the point that you can bet on yourself is so crucial for success. And then once you get to the point, you gotta go do it, and it's not like a one and done type of thing. You're gonna continue to have to bet on yourself. Every single day, you have to bet on yourself. Every roadblock you come against, every mindset, hurdle that you need to get over, you are constantly going to have to bet on yourself and know that the vision that you hold in your mind for the goal that you're trying to accomplish is worth you taking steps in that direction. And you have to trust that every single day, you taking a step in that direction is getting you closer to that goal. So I think that is one of the biggest things that you got to get comfortable with when it comes to going after big goals and building a different life than the one that you're living right now is learning how to trust yourself and feeling confident, putting your money where your mouth is, and betting on yourself. All right, let's get to talking about my girl T. Swift now. Because this was the cherry on top of, like, hell, yeah. Sign me up for this VIP day. I get to spend a whole day with you going through my business and then go jam out to Taylor Swift. Oh, my God. Done. Done. Say less. Where's the payment processor? Take my money. Let's go. Because I have been a fan of Taylor Swift since day one. Like, I have been following her for, I don't, 18 years now. Whenever she started this journey, I've always loved her, always respected her, always been a Swifty, huge fan of her. And I wanted to go to this concert so bad. When she released the new leg of the tour to go back to the U.S. like, this final tour that she's on right now, I was like, okay, don't know how, don't know where, don't know when I will be there, though. I'm in a group chat with girls, trying to figure out who wants to go. We are all signing up, us and our boyfriends and our dogs and any extra email that we can possibly get to get into the ticket queue to finally get ticket to go see Taylor Swift. And I'm like, guys, let's go to Miami. I'm trying to get tickets to the Miami concert. That's the one I'm signed up for. Never been to Miami before. Don't know anybody that lives in Miami at this point, but I'm like, that's the one. I think that sounds like a really good time. Like, Miami Taylor Swift. Girls weekend. Say less. That was my vision for the weekend. And finally, one person in this group of girls I am with ends up getting tickets to the concert. She gets four tickets. I think there's eight of us in the group. We're like, whatever. We have a well over a year to figure it out. We'll find the rest of the tickets. And so I'm like, hell, yeah, I'm going. I'm going to Taylor Swift. Well, it turns out no, we were not going to be going to Taylor Swift together. The girl who ended up getting those tickets ended up needing to sell the tickets. And so she sold the tickets. Now we were back down to zero tickets. And now the prices for these tickets are similar, skyrocketing on the Internet, and nobody I know now is willing to spend the money. Now I'm on the hunt for more girls that would be down to go do this weekend. I'm asking all my friends, I'm asking anybody who mentions anything about Taylor Swift. I'm like, hey, you know, she's gonna be out in Miami at the end of the year. We should totally go to the concert. No bites. Nobody wants to go spend the money. So I'm like, whatever. I build my vision board in January, and you best believe I got a picture of the Taylor Swift concert on there. Like, at this point, there's no proof as to me being able to go to this concert. I got no friends that are taking the bite that want to spend the money on this concert. No tickets, but it's on the vision board. And I never lose faith that I'm gonna go see this girl. It is probably summer now, so we're halfway through the year, still just like aggressively getting rejected by anybody that I asked to go to go out to fly to Miami to go see Taylor Swift. But not losing faith, knowing I am going to be in that concert at some point, singing my little heart out to all of these songs. And eventually, this is when pop in my coach Sam post about wanting to do a VIP day. And she dms me. And she's like, girl, I know you're a Swiftie. Like, are you in? Let's spend a whole day going through your business plan and go to Taylor Swift. And I was like, done in Miami. Done. Like, let's go. But let me tell you a couple things that I think really like the whole manifestation component of it. One, it's been on the vision board all year. I never lost faith that I was going to go. I look at it and I just, like, start singing and Bopping around like, I'm singing those songs, like, I am going to be in that concert. I also put on my Google calendar that I was going to be in Miami for this concert forever ago. I was like, nope, I'm going to be in Miami that weekend. Like, I had it blocked off. Like, I wasn't allowed to make plans that weekend because I just knew I was going to be in Miami that weekend. And so now Sam is putting together our day, the week I'm going down there. She sends me the itinerary for the VIP day of just like, a cute little canva PDF of like, here's the agenda. Here's all the stuff we're gonna cover. Here's the timeline. And the very first page, the COVID of this itinerary is the freaking photo that I have on my vision board. Like, what are the odds that the photo I put on my vision board when I'm making my New Year's vision board ends up being the exact photo that she puts together for this really cute itinerary? And for the week that I'm going to Taylor Swift. That is crazy. I manifested the ability to be able to go to Taylor Swift. I think about how much we talk about in manifestation, just trusting the process and trusting that everything is working out, even if it doesn't feel like it. And I feel like this is such a perfect example. My dreams and visions of going to see Taylor Swift in Miami had been shut down countless times. We kind of had tickets, lost the tickets, had some friends that were down to go, didn't have some friends that were down to go, asking everybody I could possibly ask if they want to go. Everybody's saying no. And when you look back at this experience, it's like, hey, everybody said no. All those tickets fell through. I didn't get a chance to go with all of those other people to have a girls weekend in Miami to see Taylor Swift, because this opportunity, that was the perfect opportunity for me and what I need and what is a good fit for where I'm at right now in life hadn't popped up yet. Because if I would have committed to going with anybody else, then I would not have been available for this opportunity to go spend a day with Sam, get the insights in my business that I needed, and then still get a chance to go to Taylor Swift. So such a perfect example of just trusting that everything's always working out for you, even if it doesn't feel like it, and even if you're like, oh, my gosh, look at all these reasons I'm not going to go to Taylor Swift. Like that could have very easily been my mindset. Like I'm never going to get to go see her. Nobody wants to to go with me. Look at all of the reasons that I'm not going to be able to go. Look at all the proof of why it's not going to work out. Like that was never my mentality. My mentality was don't know how, don't know with who, don't know when. But I will be there. So I think that's just such a powerful reminder and a lesson to always trust that everything is always working out for you, even if it doesn't feel like it. You have to focus on the what, relinquish the power of the how and just let the universe do its thing. That is how all of the most powerful manifestations come to be. Now let's talk about what I think about Taylor Swift after going to the ERAS Tour. Because I had seen her one other time live. I went to the Red Tour to see her live back in. I don't even know Was that like 2013? I think was when I went to go see the Red tour. I rocked the red lipstick like I was so on brand and it was a good time. My experience at the ERAS Tour was unlike anything else I have ever experienced in my entire life. This was the show of shows. I do not know if any performer will ever put on a show that could equate to the energy, the vibes, just the outright excitement that the ERAS tour was able to produce. Taylor Swift is a frickin monster. She is a business genius. She is such a kind soul. Like she is just always so humble and so respectful of her fans and of the industry and I just have so much respect for her as a businesswoman. But this girl is a performer. She is an artist. I have just never seen so many people so wildly captivated for such a long period of time. She just never missed a beat. The energy in this stadium was crazy. Keep in mind when we were waiting in line to get merch, we were getting poured on. We got super cute for the night ruined within a first hour. We looked like wet dogs just stuck in the rain. But guess what? Didn't care because we were finally getting a chance to see her. And it was just so cool to be able to see someone who has poured so much energy into their passion and made it a reality. I get goosebumps when I think about people that have a vision and have a passion and have a purpose and they don't let anything stand in their way of making it a reality. And I think Taylor Swift is such an incredible example of that. Her tenacity and her mindset of being able to know I have a gift, and I'm not going to let anything stand in the way of me being able to share that gift with the world. I just think that's. That's so beautiful. Like, the second the show lit up and started, I'm in instant tears because I just love people that pour into their gifts and don't let things stand in the way. I think it's such an inspiration. I think she is just a force to be reckoned with, and I think she's such a wonderful example. It's like she's had so many excuses and so many reasons that she could have copped out of being who she is and building the business that she has, and she hasn't. When you get a chance to look back at her growth, her journey, and everything that she's been able to build, I just think it's so commendable. So I was a swifty going into the show. I don't even know what I am now. I am so much respect for her. I hope she just continues to let us hear all of her best hits until she literally can't walk on stage anymore. That is my hope. And yeah, I just think we have so much to learn from Taylor and how she just doesn't let things get in the way of going after her dreams. I think it just. Just such a message that we can all lean into and I will just love her for forever. I'll end the rant now because I feel like I could just keep on keeping on on this topic of people going after their dreams and the badassness of Taylor Swift. And if you want to keep talking about that, send me a DM because I can continue to talk about that. But I'll stop for now and I will see you so soon, babe. Bye. Hey, before you go, I just want to go ahead and say thank you for spending a little bit of your time with me today. And also congratulations for finding a chunk of time to carve out and focus on you and moving the needle and becoming a better version of yourself. If there is anybody that you think could benefit from this podcast, please share it with a friend, share it with a family member, share it on your socials, and help me spread the word about busy getting better. Thank you so much and I will see you on the next episode.
