Thank you so much. I'm so excited to be here. I'm always the one doing the podcast interviews. This will be a really fun, unique experience for me to be actually answering some questions. And it's great that we have so much in common. I love that you have this side of, like, the subconscious mind to all your money stuff. It's so amazing.
Yay. Okay, cool. We're flipping the script a little bit. You get to be in the hot seat today.
I'm excited too. I need more practice with this.
Perfect. Best place to get it. We got a nice friendly audience here. I love your bio and your Instagram. So your bio is habits, besties. Stop doom scrolling, bedrotting and impulse shopping. You're not lazy or undisciplined. It's your habits.
Yeah. I am doing a little bit of a rebrand this year and I focused a lot on the subconscious mind and manifestation for my clients in the past. I realized my real main focus and passion is habits and addiction. So I started to do this master's program in addiction counseling. And I'm transitioning my business into the problems that Gen Z is currently experiencing. So I'm a gen zer. Previous generations have gone through like alcoholism, maybe drug use from pharmaceutical stuff. And those kinds of addictions are prevalent for a lot of people. But we're not really talking about the addictions and the bad habits that younger people are dealing with based on the new things that are popping up in our lives. We have these cell phone addictions. Everybody's scrolling at the end of their day to regulate their nervous system. We've got Amazon prime and impulse shopping and all these ads that we're constantly being bombarded with. We get home at the end of a busy day and all we want to do is lay in bed. We don't have the motivation to go outside in the sun and take a walk and work out. No one is really addressing and talking about these new things that we're currently dealing with. And we don' know the long term side effects of having a phone constantly near us, scrolling every single day. So I really wanted to examine the current issues that younger people are going through.
I talk about this all the time, about the dopamine hits from all of these apps and how they have rewired our brain to install the need for instant gratification. We know that the importance of delayed gratification, like is so important when we think about focusing on personal growth, when we focus on going after long term goals, building good financial habits and investing everything there is focused on long term growth. And you need to step away from the instant gratification. But to your point, the way that we are just needing technology so much because of how it's been ingrained in our life, it's kind of taking away our ability to focus on that. So I would love to hear more of your thoughts on what is something that we could focus on or start to realize, like how is this showing up for us? Because I think we know that this is a problem, but do we really know how it's showing up in our life and some of the downsides that we're not realizing?
Yeah. And to your point, I think the dopamine hits are huge because if we are constantly being stimulated throughout our day, that's artificial stimulation from things that are not really natural. And when you put the phone away, when you stop the online shopping, when you take a moment for silence and for reconnecting to self, you realize that without that, you're kind of searching for more dopamine. And that's the really hard part about this, is it's more so an addiction to that feeling and that dopamine. So what I'll have clients do is understand who are you? If you were to really sit down and be honest with yourself about what it is that you do every single day, how do you spend your time? You know, you can do a time audit where you don't judge yourself. So this is what I call baseline. We observe our behaviors in baseline simply as they are. We don't try to change anything yet, but we just want to know what's actually going on. And then once we're honest with ourselves about that, then we can start to change it. The way that people fail by doing this is they're not changing it in a way that's sustainable. This is why New Year's resolutions don't really work. If you set a goal in the new year to walk 10,000 steps a day, and right now you're only walking 2,000 steps a day, you're living a very sedentary life, you are not going to instantly achieve that 10k goal because your subconscious is working against you. If you try to introduce this new unfamiliar thing to your subconscious mind, it is registered as Danger. People don't realize that the subconscious mind is processing this new thing as something dangerous. So starting in those small chunks and Atomic Habits by James Clear is a really great book for this. It's a great resource because it teaches you how to slowly implement things into your life. When you take a new supplement, for example, you're supposed to start on a low dosage, a fourth and then a half, and then a third. Oh, and then two. And that's called titrating up. And you want to think of it in the same way. When it comes to your habits, you really want to titrate up to what you should be doing and what that main goal is.
And you talk about, like, the reason that these new habits, the New Year's resolutions don't stick. And I think a big part of that, and I know that you talk about this too, is trying to build new habits based on a different identity. And I think you really have to go through the work to upgrade your identity to be able to shift who you think you are. If you are not somebody who sees yourself as someone who goes to the gym, then you're trying to force all these habits, right? Trying to be like, okay, I'm just gonna go to the gym every single day. Now, you don't identify with that yet. You haven't really stepped into that version of you. And you need to start small, otherwise you're gonna set yourself up for failure. Then you kind of just reinforce this belief that that's not for you. Because we try and do an all or nothing approach so often when we try and build new habits and change.
What our reality looks like 100%. I agree. Another thing people do when they're struggling in this area is they'll set goals and say, okay, this is what I want my life to look like. There's nothing wrong with that. But if you are in a place of comfort, in a habitual daily routine, and you set these goals that are different for you, you need more than just goal setting. You need more than just inspiration. I listen to a lot of Jordan Peterson and one of his concepts that I love is as far as creating that heaven for yourself, anyone can do that, you know, Anyone can decide, oh, I want my life to look like this. But if you also create what hell looks like for you, then you not only have something to run to, but you have something to run from as well. And having both of those elements in your life, asking yourself, if I never changed, what would my life look like? And you write that out in detail and you say, okay, if I never changed, I would probably get out of shape. I would let myself go. Maybe my boyfriend would break up with me. I don't show up to work, so maybe I'll lose my job. I never start my business, so I'll never feel passionate in my life and I'll just remain depressed. And then if I get too depressed, then I won't have money. And you, you let yourself spiral. There's. And this is the only time we'll, I'll recommend for people to spiral is when you are creating that vision of your own personal hell and what that looks like.
I think that's so good. I've had this conversation before where I've encouraged people to sit down and journal or reflect on something similar. And I get the feedback of like, aren't you supposed to write what's positive? And it's like, yes, but also sometimes that negative thought pattern really does show us what we're trying to get away from and what we're afraid of. And to your point, when we understand what we don't want, we're able to start to craft what we do want. And sometimes it's really easy. I feel like I'm a forward thinker. It's easy for me to visualize the life that I'm creating. I'm not somebody who ruminates on the past, but for some people, it's an effective exercise to go down that path. Jealousy and negative emotions help us realize what we don't want. If we flip that around, it'll suck. It'll really start to help us paint that picture of what it is that we do want. And when you can see how your habits show up and what your daily routines are like, it can spark a fire under you to help you change direction for sure.
And this is actually coined the term law of polarity. I like to do law of polarity journaling or exercises where you take something negative in your life and then ask yourself, what is the opposite of this? And that's where that law of polarity comes in. And when you focus on the opposite of that, you're able to create a better vision for what you want to be feeling instead.
I'm curious. You are focused on working with Gen Z, the younger generation. Is there a big desire for this younger age group to change what their future looks like at such a young age? Are you noticing the desire to focus on long term habits and what their life is going to look like in the future? There's a belief or a story out there that you Know, younger people, they're not really thinking that far ahead. They're not really focused on it. And I know from like a human and a brain perspective, sometimes it's really hard for us to think about our life 20, 30, 40, 50 years in the future. And that's why it's really hard to focus on things that aren't instant gratification. So I'm just curious, are you seeing a lot of people that are really receptive in this younger age group to focus on changing the habits and seeing the impact on their life?
I think changing habits has a bad marketing team. When you talk about changing habits and working on 20 to 30 years in the future, you might get yawns and disinterest. But when you see the amount of men struggling with pornography issues, the amount of people impulse shopping, that's what they care about. So marketing it in that way and drawing people in by more. So these like catchy phrases and catchy words, pornography addiction, all of that, that's really how you draw people in and how you show them that there is value in change. But you need to be able to market in a. Market it in a way to where, you know, because people are selfish, ultimately they care a lot about themselves, their ego. So if you can really sit down with someone and figure out what it is that they want, then you can market it in a specific way so that people will actually listen to you for what you're saying.
The people don't want to be rotting in bed. Doom scrolling people can recognize the fact that they don't want to be doing that.
Oh yeah, definitely. I've had a lot of people that have come to me about that. There's this other woman on Instagram called the Workout Witch and she is absolutely blown up this year because she talks a lot about nervous system regulation and all of these things that we're talking about are a result of your nervous system being in functional freeze or whatever it is. So it's definitely a huge issue for Gen Z right now whether or not they want to fully admit it. But a lot of people are resonating with this stuff for sure.
I personally have the belief that there is a need. I feel like there's this spiritual awakening happening in this younger generation. I'm technically the last year of a millennial, but I feel like I can relate to both based on what was going on in the world when I grew up. I feel like the younger generation is having more of a spiritual awakening. I feel like there are way more conversations about dysregulated. Nervous systems and the impact that has on our overall happiness. That excites me that we're starting to pay attention to some of this stuff. I don't. It's science. So it's weird to me that it gets kind of looped into this like, woo category of meditating and journaling and the ways that that can really show up for us. But I feel like there's a lot more reception to it, which excites me personally.
Yeah, there definitely is a lot more reception to it. And I think that comes largely as a result of the amount of freedoms that we have to choose whatever religion we would like to have, say whatever we want on social media because of free speech and freedom of choice and things like that. So I think it's a result of that.
Yeah. Okay, so doom scrolling bed rotting, you mentioned porn addiction. What are some of the other core habits or addictions that you focus on or that you like to help your clients shift through changes with?
I would say those are definitely the main ones, but I think it also shows up in partnerships.
So.
So there's a lot of women who come to me saying, you know, I really don't like the guy that I'm with. I don't feel like he's treating me right, but I feel like I have this attachment to him and I want to make it work. And that is probably one of the more difficult things to deal with. Because when people are in love, it's a very strong connection, especially if they've had some sort of physical connection as well. People being attached to, whether that's a boyfriend or a girlfriend or even a friend that they've had for many years, even if that friend is not serving their life. It's hard for people to let go of relationships as well.
So what are some telltale signs if somebody's listening to this and they're trying to figure out, do they have an issue with dupe scrolling or bed rotting or addiction to toxic relationships or porn? What are some symptoms or signs to keep an eye out for?
I think if it's interfering in your ability to live your daily life and have all of your responsibilities done. So if you are stopping to drink alcohol every day after work as a means to unwind, if you are feeling really tired and you're going to pornography to reset and feel better, if you're using it in connection to your emotion, that's one thing. And then also if it's getting in the way of your responsibilities, choosing this bad habit over the homework assignment that you need to finish or maybe doing the dishes or doing this chore, running this errand. So those would be two big signs. I would say, love that.
Okay, and then what are maybe three small steps? Like, I'm thinking, okay, now I'm like, yeah, that's probably me. Like, what do I start to do to make movement and be able to work through this and start to change my habits? Like, where does someone start?
I think it's very corny to say this, but there's truth in that statement of, like, the first step is admitting that you have a problem. Because a lot of people, and especially, like, men who don't want to admit fault to things, they'll say, like, oh, it's not really a problem. Like, no, it's fine. Because they don't want to face the emotional work that it takes in order to relieve themselves of this bad habit. So firstly, admitting that you have a problem. Secondly, having some sort of accountability person, partner, group, whatever it may be. You can get in a group of people who are also dealing with this, and then you have actual accountability. So you have someone to show up to every week and say, actually, I didn't do this. Well, actually, I failed at this. I have a personal trainer where I have to check in with him every single week, show him pictures of my physique, tell him if I went off of diet, tell him if I didn't do the cardio. And having that really does keep you in line. So second would be accountability. And then third, I would say is to do that exercise. Exercise of what would my life look like if I continued down the path that I was going? And what kind of life would I like to create for myself instead? So this is vision casting. This is really important. But you have to make sure that the vision you're casting for yourself is something you would be happy with and something you would actually do. So setting realistic standards for yourself. Maybe I'm going to titrate down on alcohol. I'm not gonna have it every single day, but I'm gonna have it maybe five times a week, and then maybe only on the weekends, and then maybe every other weekend. Creating that realistic plan for yourself to cut down on that thing.
I think that's good. Just starting small. I know we already mentioned it, but I feel like all or nothing mentality is so easy to slip into. And then you're just like, well, screw it, I didn't do it today. It's not gonna work. Right. You've gotta start small and just take those baby habits and Realize that major change takes time, right? You don't just wake up a new version tomorrow. You have to focus on those daily habits.
There's this guy that I love, his name is Paul Saladino and he basically follows like an animal based diet and adds in fruit. He's always making videos about oh, this thing is toxic or this is bad for your health. The one phrase that he tells people so that they don't feel absolutely miserable and lost is don't let perfect be the enemy of good. That's really important to keep in mind is when you're changing something, don't let perfect be the enemy of good.
I love that. That is such a good, simple statement. I might steal that one. Okay, I want to talk about the business that you run. So you're a CEO of a company called Paragon of the Mind and this is all about helping women step into their dream life. I know you do a lot of subconscious work in this business of helping women move into their dream life, which I absolutely love. So I'm curious, from your perspective, is there one major thing that you see in your business and in your coaching with your clients that holds women back from going after their dream life?
I would say absolutely. Self confidence. Our childhood is integral to the type of person we are as an adult. When you hear that statement, it can sometimes hold you back because it puts you in a disempowering place. If you don't know that, you can change it. When we are ages 0 to 7, our subconscious mind is fully awake. It's taking in everything that we are hearing from our peers, from our parents, from the news. I'm sure you know all about this with your subconscious work. And we can actually access that state again as 20 year olds, 30 year olds, 40 year olds, 50 year olds, and we can do that during sleep. So theta brainwave state, essentially your subconscious mind is fully open, it's permeable again, it's malleable again, it's able to take in all of that information again. So my favorite modality of subconscious reprogramming for women that are going through self consciousness issues is to reprogram their mind through sleep, through eight hour affirmation tracks. What I will do with my clients is whatever specifically that they're going through. I will create a eight hour affirmation track that helps them address every single issue that they have and gives them those affirmations that are going to help them rewire and heal themselves. And doing this at night when you're sleeping, it's passive all you do is turn it on. So it's not something that requires a lot of work for people, which I think is why it has been so successful.
Yeah, I love that. Okay, this is a hack. I use myself. I'm curious, what's your strategy to listen? Because I know people just play it out loud. If you sleep with a spouse, it can be kind of like they're not trying to dial in here. My husband bought me an eye mask type thing. A band around your head with little speakers in it, and you can hook it up via Bluetooth. I'm not gonna lie, it's kind of faulty. Not working the best. So I need a better strategy. How do you implement that or encourage your clients? Are they playing it out loud? Do they sleep with headphones on? What does that actually look like? If somebody wants to start doing something like this?
Okay, so first thing I recommend is to do like three minutes of breath work before sleep so that you're kind of getting your body activated and you're clearing your mind a little bit. And then you can go to your personalized affirmation track or you can even go on YouTube. They have all sorts of ones, like everything you could possibly imagine. I love Dylan James. He has very niche ones like how to grow your booty and how to get engaged this year. Like very niche, fun affirmation tracks like that. Love that you put it on, like one volume, put it, you know, a little bit away from your bed where you can hear the noise, but you don't necessarily have to understand every word. So it's at a pretty low volume. And you just play that eight hour video on YouTube or whatever it is, and you wake up in the morning. If you sleep more than eight hours, it'll be finished and you are set. And I usually recommend people do it for at least 66 days, because 66 days is kind of that golden number where things are fully solidified.
Love it. Okay, cool. I'm gonna have to check out Dylan James and see what he's got. The grow your booty one got me excited. I'm in the gym working on that right now.
I totally understand if you're sleeping with a partner or something. I had an affirmation track about long, beautiful hair, and my boyfriend was like, I don't really want to listen to this right now. At night, I don't really care about the hair.
He's like, I'm good with my short hair. Thank you so much. I feel like sometimes I get this question often, and I'm curious what your Perspective is someone's like, listen, I do the affirmations, I do the journaling, I do the gratitudes, I do typical activities and habits that are supposed to help me feel better. And nothing works. Like, what is your perspective on someone coming to you and saying something like that?
Yeah, I would say you're probably not living your passion. The direction that you're going in life is probably incorrect. A lot of people will hear what their parents tell them to do or what some trendy person on Instagram is telling them to do, and they're like, yeah, well, I'm, I'm saying that I'm making 10k a month and I'm doing all the things, okay, maybe you're not working the right job. Maybe you haven't found your passion, that's why it's not working. Your passion is what you're predestined to do on this earth and it is going to work out for you. There's no way that you can fail when you are doing what is predestined for you. The only way that you are going to fail is if you're not on the right track, not doing the right things for yourself.
Yeah. And I think this probably plays a lot into that self confidence thing. Right. If we grow up and we aren't feeling confident or worthy of the path that we're going down, that probably is something that comes up often hindering people from wanting to take that step. Like, that dream feels too big or I can't be the person that does that. I don't have enough experience. Imposter syndrome is probably something that pops up often for most people. So what do you say to that person who isn't letting themselves believe that their desire is actually what they're supposed to be doing?
I would say first things first is get off of social media and stop comparing your own unique journey to the journey of someone else. When we are comparing ourselves, we're actually robbing ourselves of the good qualities that we currently possess because we are looking at what we don't have. I saw this great video earlier today from Mina Irfan, who is a feminine energy lifestyle coach. She said, when you are comparing yourself to others, you think everyone in the world has a Chanel bag because that's what you're seeing on Instagram. But if you take the phone away and ask yourself, in my real life, in my actual circle, who has a Chanel bag? Maybe no one. Right? So reminder that social media is not real life and we can't use that comparison to make ourselves Feel bad about our own unique journey. So many of the most successful people did not discover their passion and truly make it in life until they were in their 40s or 50s. Having patience for your own journey and trying to enjoy the process as it comes. Nothing has to be perfect all the time, but it's more about finding a routine that you can wake up every day and feel happy with. Maybe you're not at that goal that you want yet, but you're still enjoying the journey. And you know in the back of your head, this thing is going to come. This helps. When people have some sort of North Star, maybe they're religious, maybe they believe in the universe, but they believe in something, and they believe in a higher power that is not going to let their life go downhill. Having that just extra foundation of, oh, God's got me, you know, God's not gonna let my life go this way or this direction. Like, I can have trust that something amazing is gonna happen to me.
Yeah, I love that. I think one of the biggest mindset shifts that changed my life was adopting the belief that everything has happened for me and will continue to happen for me. Not to me. Looking at every struggle or tough situation I've been in, just believing that it was an opportunity for me to learn a specific lesson, to grow a certain way, to develop thick skin, to have the mindset that I have now in order to step into this role of a leader, Being someone that can help other women on their journey. I think when you believe that everything's happening for you and not to you, and I think that is a really powerful belief to install in yourself because it allows you to take action and trust that even if stuff happened, there must be an opportunity to learn and grow from this. There must be a reason, even if you can't see it now, even if you can't see it for years. Like, when I think about my journey with personal finance at the age of 17, I felt like the world was ending because that's when I had to really step up and start to take care of stuff. And now here I am, however many years later, and I'm like, oh, well, it all makes sense. So it's just like now I have that belief of the things I go through now. It might not be easy for me to see what the benefit is, but I trust that there's a purpose there.
Yeah, your pain is your purpose. Oftentimes the hard things that we go through in life are actually what we can use to help other people grow and heal. A lot of the stuff I talk about in my program, in my YouTube videos, is personal things that I've gone through. And I've just switched my mindset to use it as my passion to help other people instead of feeling victimized or disempowered by that.
Yeah, I love that. Looking at it through the lens of whatever I'm going through, maybe like, this is why this is my purpose. And I think back to what you said at the beginning about the law of polarity. Right. You can't experience the goods without the bads. When we think about the pain we go through, it's a reminder that there must be something equally as good waiting on the other side. It's always important to remember that 100%.
And it's also having the strength and the courage to admit what may have happened to you because a lot of people don't realize that other people have the same issues. You know, we are all going through X, Y and Z. It's not just you. You're not the only one who has a bunch of credit card debt. So keeping that in mind is like a lot of people are also going through that.
Unfortunately, our experiences are likely not very unique. As big as the world is, it's also quite small. And a lot of us go through a lot of similar experiences and journey. I want to talk about. So you mentioned a lot of people not finding their passion until later in life. And so obviously you're someone who found a passion pretty young. I talk about all the time how much gratitude I have for finding something that I am so passionate about at a young age. But what would you say to somebody who hasn't quite found that yet or feels like they don't know what their passion is and they don't know what their purpose is and they feel like they're kind of just on this rock, floating through space, going through life. Like, how do they start to lean into figuring that? I know you mentioned the pain, but outside of that, how could someone start to view their pain differently or start to figure out out maybe what their purpose could be to start to live a little bit more of a fulfilled life.
So there's two things that you can do. One is, what do other people tell you that you're good at when you're going through your daily life? What are things that people always come to you for advice on? People probably were coming to you for advice on money before you started your business. So when I was younger, my mom would always observe me reading psychology books for fun. And at the time, I Was a business major. She was like, you should totally switch your major because this is what you're doing for fun. Like, imagine how much impact you could create there. So what do other people say that you're good at? And then if you could wake up and have the day that you wanted to have, if money wasn't an issue, if time wasn't an issue, if no one was going to judge you, what would you be doing with your time? And when you ask yourself that question, because there are no things in your way, you get the real honest answer. And that would be my advice is really like, what would you be doing with your day if you had no restrictions?
Yeah, I love that those two questions alone are what guided me to go down this path. That was. Those are the two questions my life coach gave me. And I carried around a notebook at work, but also I was putting it in my notes app on my phone, and I would just pay attention anytime I got a compliment for like, a month. And every time someone said something about me helping them with something, you start to see trends, you start to see patterns, and you have to pay attention to the smallest of things. And then you can really start to piece that together. And then the day in the life thing, I think, is so important too. If someone's been through trauma or they continue to find themselves in cycles that they can't escape, it can be really hard for them to dream about what their life could look like. We know that the subconscious keeps us blocked sometimes from thinking about that. So if someone's really struggling with an exercise like that or struggling to figure out what their desires could be, is there anything they could start to do? Do to figure out what their limiting beliefs are that are holding them back from being able to start dreaming bigger than what their current life is.
So there's this exercise called seven layers of why. And what you're gonna do is ask yourself why seven times until you get to the real core belief that is out of alignment. If someone were to say, okay, why do you get your hair done every six months? Well, because I want to look good. Well, why do you want to look good? Well, I want to look good because I want my partner to find me attractive. Why do I want my partner to find me attractive? Because I want them to stay with me. Why do I want them to stay with me? Because I don't want to be left. And once you get down to, like, okay, the real reason that I'm actually doing this is because I don't want to be left like, that that's exactly what you should do. Really. Go down deep and ask your why am I doing these things?
Yeah, I'm sure you can even dig well, why? Do you not want to be left right? Do you not trust yourself to be on your own? Do you not want to live, you know, whatever? So there is a lot of. A lot of clarity you can get from that.
A hundred percent.
What are some of the coolest results that you've seen of this work? What are some of your favorite transformations you've been able to help your clients through?
Oh, my gosh. One of my clients wanted a boyfriend. She manifested the exact guy that she wanted. One of my clients wanted to move to Florida. She manifested moving to Florida. One of my clients had a chronic neck injury that was keeping her depressed, stuck in bed, unable to actually function and live her life. And by the time we were done, she was backpacking in Europe with her besties and had the absolute time of her life. One of my clients wanted to make UGC her career, and after having no experience with it, we got her monetized on TikTok. She got her first UGC package. She started to do it as a career. Now she's focusing on that as her main job. Those are a few examples. But the sky is the limit. Anything that you want for yourself, you can have. And it's just a matter of focusing your attention on it, knowing that it's going to occur, taking the physical steps every day to make it happen, and remaining positive and completely focused on the end goal.
Those are some fire transformations. That's incredible. What's something you think people get wrong about the work that you do or the hot take that you have about this, this industry?
People think that manifestation is not real. And you don't realize you're always manifesting whether or not you're consciously aware of it. So if you are thinking bad thoughts that manifest, you can just at the same time decide to think positive thoughts. It's not like this thing that just happens to you. You're actually in control of the kind of life you want to create. It puts the power back in the hands of people to not be a victim to what's happening to them, but to understand that it's happening through you. You need to be the change that you seek to experience in the world by focusing your attention moment to moment, on the things that you can control.
Yeah, I love that. I think that's such an important thing to remember. You're always manifesting your reality, every thought you have, the way you move through the world, the decisions you make and the choices you make are creating and shaping the world that you're living in. And it might feel really hard. I feel like we're wired to kind of identify the negative.
Right.
Our brains are always looking out for the threat, so it's always going to go negative. There's nothing wrong with you if your brain goes negative. But know that you can train it just like, like any other muscle to seek the positive, to switch from being a glass half empty to a glass half full kind of person. You gotta call yourself out. When you start to catch yourself thinking those negative thoughts, be like, whoa, no, this is not serving me. Delete, block, stop, rewind. I'm gonna choose to install a more positive thought here. And the more that you do that, the more that you can utilize our brain function neuroplasticity. Right. To start to really adopt those positive beliefs. And those belief systems change the way that you show up in the world. And so they're really important to focus on.
Yeah, for sure. And there's this graph that I really like to show people from Bob Proctor, and it's a picture of a stick figure. And the top half of the head is conscious mind and the bottom half is subconscious mind. And then the body is obviously body. So when people are having a certain thought, what I tell them to do is picture that thought going into the conscious mind and then just immediately bouncing back off. So if you just bounce that thought back off of the conscious, instead of letting it continue down into the subconscious, which then continues down into the body, which then causes the actions that you're doing and taking, just let it bounce off visually. Picture bouncing off of the conscious mind so that none of the thoughts that you're having actually create real action in your life. If they're negative thoughts.
That's a good tip. And again, with the visualization of that, it's really easy to start picturing that. And visualizations are so important when we're talking about making changes. So that's a good tip.
Yeah, for sure.
Okay. Is there anything else people need to know about your business or some of the work that you do that's really exciting you?
Right now I have a big focus on self, love and confidence because I experienced something very interesting in my life where in high school I was extremely confident. That's kind of backwards because usually people are not confident in high school and then they get more confident. But for me, I had a really great childhood. My subconscious beliefs were there. I was like, I am the hottest person in the room. I'm the smartest, I'm the most well traveled. Like, I just had all these really, really cocky beliefs about myself. And the way that people reacted to me was always positive. I could make a friend, I could go here, I could do this. Life was just great. And then as life started to happen to me, as people started to be mean, as I started to mess up, as unfortunate circumstances started to happen to me, it completely changed those beliefs and I was no longer that confident, secure person. Relearn all of that. So what I really like to focus on with women specifically is relearning all of that confidence and all of that self love that maybe life has taken from you due to unfortunate circumstances or experiences, and teaching yourself to feel that naivete as you were when you were younger. Like, if nothing bad happened to you, how would you feel? And going back to that and remembering how that felt is something I really like to focus on with people.
I love that. I feel like there's so much conversation around, like kind of tapping into your younger self, your childlike self. And like we said, like, what are the things that you love doing? What are the things you love to do when you were a kid are probably a good indicator too, of some stuff to focus on in adulthood. So that's awesome.
That's another great one for sure.
And also just a good reminder, if you feel like your confidence is shot right now, maybe you feel like you used to have it and you're just like, what the heck? How do I get it back now? You know, you call Meg and she's gonna help you reignite the fire in you.
Yes, let's do it. I love it.
I always asking the same two questions, partly because I'm nosy and I just want to get to know some stuff about you. One of them is what is something that you are busy getting better at right now?
Wow, I love this. That's a great way to end this. Okay, what am I busy getting better at right now? I think something I've really been focusing on a lot recently is the diet and the lifestyle and the health stuff. I think your health is just a huge part of your mood and your energy. And I used to have really bad pmdd, which is basically an exacerbated version of pms. I took deep dive into understanding my own health. The foods that I'm eating, the things that are in my environment that may be toxic, the beauty products. That is something I have been really, really laser focused on recently.
Yeah, I think that's something Else that we're all kind of waking up to right now is literally what the is in all of our products. What is going on with our food system? Why are we so toxic? And why is America so sick? And how do we start to see some changes with that? I know. I'm personally pretty excited to see how some of these initiatives pan out over the next couple years in regards to going after big food and big Pharma, because I think there's just so much coming to light, especially as a female, all the products that we utilize, and you just realize what's in it, and you're like, what is going on in my body? This is not good anymore. We got to do something about this.
I'm sure you've seen that study. Women put an average of, like, 200 chemicals on their body every single day. Like, are you kidding me? That's insane.
Concerning. Is there one thing, one switch that you've made that you're like, this is incredible. More people need to know about this.
Oh, my gosh. We could do a whole podcast on this. Because when I get really focused on something, I'm a very extreme person. So I found out about all this stuff. I went into my pantry. I got rid of everything that was processed, everything that was bad for me. I went to the grocery store and I bought a ton of steak, and I just completely changed the diet. And then I also did the same thing with my beauty products, because I'm extreme. One day I. And I have a lot of beauty products. I have a lot of hair products. I have a lot of that stuff because I'm very into that. I took all of my stuff and I put it in these bags, and I allowed, like, friends and my mom to look through and pick what they wanted. And then I just threw it all away and I replaced everything. And it was very. In a very expensive endeavor. Probably not like, the best use of my money don't come for me, but I think that extreme change was helpful for me. I'm not saying people need to do an extreme change like that, but maybe some titrating in of the good products and titrating out of the bad products.
Yeah, like, choose your battle on what's important to you, but definitely start to look at some of that stuff. You might have to share with me some of your favorite clean beauty products. I feel like I've tried to venture down that path and have not had any luck. So we haven't made any traction on the beauty products. But the food all there. Me. Whole Foods, No Seed oils, all on that. So beauty's kind of my next arena. Last question for you is what is a book that I need to read next?
My favorite book I recommend to everyone is called Psycho Cybernetics by Maxwell Mo. Have you heard of it?
I have heard of this. This book has come up multiple times. I have not bought it, but I feel like this might be a sign.
Oh, my gosh. It's literally sitting right there on my counter. Four books that are my favorite, but we'll just talk about Psycho Cybernetics. The main takeaway from this book is there was a plastic surgeon, Maxwell Moltz, and he dealt with people who had facial deformities. He said that these people always experienced a lack of confidence and a lack of security in their lives because of their facial deformities. Once he did the surgeries on, he found that they still had this lack of confidence. It didn't have anything to do with their facial deformity. It had to do with what was in their subconscious mind. When you act and behave the same way for a certain amount of time, repetition and emotional intensity creates a certain result for you. And that is who you become and that is who you're wired to be. These people were wired to be people who had facial deformities, and that came with ostracism. People judging them, laughing at them. They were still that person even after they got the surgeries. Recognizing the importance of changing the subconscious mind instead of changing the outside. Because when you change the inside, the outside just immediately changes as a result of the new energy and the new mind and the new feelings.
Such a good reminder that it's like, yeah, you've got to focus on the in if you want the results. Because just, just, you know, changing your clothes, changing your hair, focusing on external things aren't going to change who you are on the inside.
Yes, 100%.
They could give you some confidence. Like, when I get a new haircut, I do feel a little bit more confident, you know, but it's definitely a band aid. You got to still do the inner work.
Right? Right. You can do both. Yeah, we'll do both.
We'll keep doing both. Amazing. Okay, where can people find you if they want to work with you? What does that look like? Share all of your information with us.
