Welcome back to the podcast. You are in for a treat today because this is probably one of my favorite interviews that we have done so far. In today's episode, we are diving deep into intuition, money and spiritual alignment with Caroline, who is a psychic medium and an intuitive coach. Caroline takes us through her journey from being broke in her early 20s, embarrassed to ask her sister for a hundred dollars, to realizing that her struggles with money were actually the doorway to her spiritual awakening that unlocked her psychic gifts. She spills the tea on how listening to her intuition before making financial moves has completely changed her life in business and how you can start tapping into your own inner knowing and make aligned money decisions. We are getting into it, you guys. We talk about how to tell the difference between fear and intuition. How to use your intuition to know if you should quit your job, make an investment or change directions in life. We talk about if there is a right or a wrong way to ask the universe for for a sign. And then she takes us through a step by step process to asking the universe for a sign, even if you have never done it before. We talk the difference between spirit guides and angels and how to start connecting with both. And then Caroline tells us how to identify our own intuitive gifts because as you will hear in this episode, she believes that everybody is intuitive. She even shares with us her process for making investment decisions so that you do not end up with buying buyer's remorse. And then we end the episode with a super fun rapid fire game of habits that are either going to help strengthen or block your intuition. This episode is juicy, eye opening and full of practical tools to help you step into your highest, wealthiest and most aligned self. Going to get a lot of really.
Juicy tea from this episode. So I'm so excited for the conversation.
Oh, my gosh, me too. Thank you so much for having me. And thank you for that sweet intro. How nice of you. I mean, you are like my online money queen, so I'm excited to be here. I love it. Yay.
I'm so excited. I feel like this is a perfect place to start because you talked about how your desire to be better with money was actually the start of your spiritual awakening and led you to unlocking your psychic gifts at the age of 25, which I'm like, I need to know more. So please kick us off with this. Yes.
Oh, my gosh. I remember this time of my life so vividly. I was in my early 20s, just graduated from college, living in Los Angeles, and I wanted to work in entertainment. You make no money in entertainment, especially when you start out. People make millions in the end. But at this time, I was very far from that. My first job offer ever, I was making, like, $30,000. This was, like, 2018. But, yeah, it was not a lot of money. I was out on my own. I had to pay my rent, partying, and I was just, like, broke all the time. And it got to a point where I had gotten, like, a raise or two and moved around jobs, and I was making more money, but I still felt broke. And I was so frustrated. I was like, why do I never have savings? And I would always feel embarrass, embarrassed, because I couldn't go on trips or vacations. And not that many people in my life were doing that at that age. But I was just like, I feel like I shouldn't have negative dollars. Like, that's not great. I'll never forget this one day, I went to brunch with my friends, and my card got declined, and I had no money in my bank account, so my friend paid for me. And I remember texting my younger sister for a hundred dollars, and I was just so embarrassed. It was that day that I was like, I need to make a change. I think I was just, like, on Instagram at the time, researching around, and I came across Natalia Benson's profile. If people don't know her, she's an astrologer, money coach, and now she does mediumship. But at that time, she was blending astrology and money for the first time. I was like, okay, something about money that doesn't look scary. And so I decided to sign up for this cheap monthly offer that she had. And that was when I started to realize how much the way I was interacting with money and my beliefs about money were tied to the beliefs about myself. And so I started going through this dual path. Spiritual awakening and then also a financial awakening. At the same time, I was buying books about self development and Joe Dispenza because she was opening my eyes to meditation and astrology and all of that. And then on the flip side, I was learning about money. I was buying, like, I will teach you to be rich and all of those types of books. So I was really starting to get into it. Eventually, I worked with my money stuff. I got my finances organized, which, thank God, but the. The other positive benefit of that was through doing all of that personal development work, I was realizing how much I was lacking in my purpose. And I really felt this struggle of, okay, now I have my money organized, but I still feel lost. What is the thing I'm supposed to actually be doing to make money? Right? I want to create a lot of abundance, and I feel like the way to do that is to really have a career that feels purpose and fulfilling. I was really in this struggle of trying to define my purpose for quite a few years. And then finally I went to go see a psychic medium. I was at my breaking point in my entertainment industry career. I was working in this really toxic job, like working in music festivals. And it was just a really crazy time. And I was truly at my breaking point. So I finally went to go see her, and she was the first person who told me that I had intuitive and psychic gifts, and if I didn't start using them, I was never going to be happy. I had to figure out how to start tuning in and start listening. And I left that reading having no. I'm like, how does someone become a psychic? Like, this is crazy. But honestly, the universe dropped some kismet. Synchronistic classes, teachers, mentors, books along my path. I never felt like I had to, like, really dig that deep. Like, the universe always presented me the next step. That isn't to say I didn't have to practice. I put in so much work, time, and energy to open up my intuition. Because before this, I had no idea. Like I said, I was lost in my early 20s. I thought I was going to be some huge mo. I had no idea this was not on my radar at all. So I really took the time, the energy to work on opening up my psychic gifts, my senses. And then ultimately I started giving readings for other people. And now here we are.
I did not realize how similar of a journey we had. And I think it's so interesting how we ended up in a similar space, but almost on opposite spectrums, because I also went down a rabbit hole of what the fuck should I be doing with my money? And like, how are people actually building wealth and building a path to get out of working in this rat race that I felt trapped in? And at the same time, I went down the rabbit hole of the power of your subconscious mind and how impactful our belief systems are, and started going on a personal development journey, learning about intuition, our mind beliefs and manifestation, and realizing how interconnected it was with money. So I love that we had the same epiphany. We went down two different rabbit holes. That seems unconnected, but in reality, they're actually so connected. When you can start to merge both of them, I think that's when you can really step into your power. So I love that we had a similar journey there. I'm curious, when you were in these programs and you're talking about, okay, I had to really work on your own money mindset and figure out what to do, Is there anything that really sticks out to you? Is there a money belief that you really had to unlearn in order to step into this next level of financial abundance that you've been in?
Oh, my gosh, yes. I feel like my biggest money wound was overspending. So I feel like, I think growing up, my parents were incredibly frugal. I don't want to say cheap, but they were cheap in a lot of ways. And I remember being like, but we have money. Why are we always shopping clearance? Why are we dropping the sale? I think that put a belief in me that if I am cheaper, if I don't spend on the nicest tier package or the highest end product or this luxury thing, then I am cheap. And that was a really interesting thing to untangle because I know a lot of people deal with the opposite, where they feel, like, really afraid to spring for the luxury thing. And so I felt almost A little bit isolated because I felt like not that many people were talking about this overspending as a result of this fear of this cheap shadow that I had. And so that was something that I really had to unplug from.
Yeah, I love that you bring that up. I feel like I also fall into the bucket of overspending. When I was starting to make pretty good money in corporate, I had this voice that was popping up and it was like, you better spend it while you have it. It was this fear that it wasn't going to be there, so I might as well go buy myself all of the things that I didn't have as a child or all of the things that I felt like I had lack from. And it was like proving to myself, no, I can have this. But if I really were to go deeper, it's this fear of it's not going to always be there, so I better take advantage of it now. And that trust, or lack of trust, I should say, in the money being there was obviously not healthy. So being able to work through that is something I've definitely had to work on, too. But I still find myself. I'm like, yeah, I can spend money on this. I can afford this, and it's okay just because I can't afford it. Do I really need it? What is. How is this going to help me on my journey? Is this something I should be putting money into right now, or are there better places for me to allocate my finances? I think that's so real. I think so many people relate to that.
Oh, my God. Yeah. I feel like, especially in the world that we're in, where there's coaches and there's always the next program and things like that, it's so easy to fall into some of those sales things where it's spend the money, get in the room, which in. In a lot of instances, a hundred percent, yes. But I've definitely gotten in some rooms just to almost approve to myself that I could spend the money and be there. And it ended up not being a great investment, which, of course, is not very intu of me. But it can be really hard to listen to your intuition when you have these beliefs about money that almost override it. It's like the ego and that loop in your mind overrides your inner knowing, and you can end up in some really interesting positions.
Yeah, 100%. And I think. I don't know about you, but it's so much easier for me to rationalize spending money on personal development because I'm like, listen, I'm getting better. This is for my business. Right? We're busy getting better. We're. I just love being able to learn new skills and have that personal development journey. And I think that if you're in this world, you could probably relate to that too, where it's just, yeah, but look at this new skill I'm going to get. Or look at the new connection I'm going to make. Or, yeah, networking. Got to be in the room. So I'm curious, do you have any thoughts on that? Or, like, how to listen to your intuition to better understand when you should be taking action versus when maybe it's your ego that's leading? Do you have any stories of taking the wrong path or listening or not listening to your intuition that got you. It sounds like you have some spicy tea there. Or maybe an interesting story I want to hear.
Oh, my gosh, Yes. I feel like you said it's the. It's probably the easiest thing for me to justify to myself. Especially when you have your own business that you're so passionate about and you're really willing to do anything to see it grow, it can be really hard. This is my process now for making investments. What I do is when I find a person or a program, I really take my time. I integrate myself into that person's world. I follow them on Instagram, if they have a podcast or a YouTube, I begin consuming their content. I begin hearing their voice. I begin really understanding, like, the nuances of their story, the way they present themselves. And I really take that time to listen because it's like meeting a friend in real life. You wouldn't just meet someone on the street and then invite them on your family vacation. That would be so crazy. And so I feel like that was a big mistake I was making. I would see one post from somebody or one email, and I'd be like, wow, okay, I'm in. Let's do it. And I wouldn't have even heard them talk, really. So now that is my thing. Because when you're making it less of a business decision and more of a personal connection that you're going to share with someone, it's almost a lot easier to tune into your intuition radar because your gut is going to send you a message of, oh, I like their vibe, how they're explaining these things and these concepts. That resonates with me, resonates with my brain, versus it can be really hard when you just see the sales pitch and the money and the button to press buy. It all becomes A bit convoluted. So I really take the time to learn. And then what I do is I'll actually go into my bank account, I'll sit with my money, I'll see do I have the funds right now? Yes or no? If it's a no. But I'm like, this is feeling like a strong yes. If I was to potentially put this on a credit card or do a payment plan, do I have a plan for that? Do I have a projected amount of income to cover that and pay that out over time? I also am fortunate that I have a partner who helps me with some of my expenses. So I'll go to them and it's actually been really nice to going to them because I make my case and then I'm like, wait, okay, I'm being crazy. You don't need that. I'm like, yes. And I think that's another thing too. Yes, we're all intuitive and it's really important to be in touch with your intuition. But sometimes when your ego and your identity is so wrapped up in something, especially when it's something that you're investing in for your business, which, like I said, you'll do anything to better, sometimes you need a mirror. So imagine telling your mom, your partner, your best friend, would you be embarrassed to tell them that you're spending money on this program? Would they be like, you already know how to do that, you're just not taking the action. Do you really need another training? And if the answer is no, then go for it. And if the answer is yes, then probably you shouldn't do it. So those are my tips around listening to your intuition and learning how to discern a really good investment, especially in the personal growth or business development space. Over the summer. I had just come out of the mastermind that you and I were both in with our queen, Samantha Daly. And I was like feeling like, okay, I, my business is off the ground, like I'm doing the thing. But I was like, I need more. I didn't trust myself yet to walk forward in my business without someone holding my hand. Which was a bit silly because I had just spent six months working with somebody, getting all of the tools, laying the groundwork. In all honesty, my intuition was basically yelling at me, slow down, integrate, digest, put things into practice and see how they go. But of course, I'm scrolling the Internet, scroll through Instagram, something catches my eye and it's like a little three month mastermind and it's launch your thing in three months. I sign up for a consultation call with this woman. I had never heard her speak before. I had only seen her stuff online. And we got on the call and immediately my first thought that I was surprised. I was like, oh, she's not what I expected. She presented herself a different way online. And immediately the alarm bells were going. But I'm like, okay, this is interesting. We had a nice conversation. She did really sell me in that call. She sold me on everything we could do, like this personalized treatment. I was like, oh my God, it's a smaller group than the last group I was in. I'm going to get all this one on one attention. I sign up, even though I didn't have the money for it. I put it on a credit card. I was also at a point where I was trying to save money because I was trying to move apartments. And I get into the room and I'm just like, this is not. I had just come out of such an amazing, like 5 star, 10 out of 10 investment experience with Sam. Honestly, this room was just not the same. The vibes, the women, the people. I wasn't getting what I was promised. That was a really tough $3,000 pill to swallow. I didn't tell my partner about it, and eventually I did and had to come clean. Ever since then, I really stick with the process that I just laid out for you. There's no shame in making mistakes because I learned so much from. As I grow as a person in my business, the stakes do get higher. When I was younger, sure, $50 on a class or training or something like that, but when you're playing with higher stakes, you're gonna make some mistakes along the way. I've learned a lot from that experience.
Okay, wow. That was all so good. One, I totally agree on immersing yourself in the world of the person that you're looking to invest in. I think for me, I love listening to other people's podcast. One of the reasons I started my podcast was so that I could really start to get comfortable in my own voice, but also share this side of me. Let other people understand who I am so that when they do feel the pull and they want to invest in some of the stuff that I offer, they know me. Like, they know what they're getting into. Like they. They've seen behind the curtains, they hear how I talk, they know my vibe, they know I'm going to be sassy and cuss and also just motivate them and all the things I love to talk about because I saw that was something that was really Helpful for me. That guided me to make really good investments, which obviously that was a major thing that led me to Sam's world as well, where you and I met, because you just get to know the person. So I think that's such a good piece of advice. And I think that if you are a business owner and you're listening to that, take that yourself and really think about how you can start to connect with your audience and let them understand who you are. I think it takes a lot of pressure off of you when you're like, listen, this is me. Do you want in? Am I your vibe or am I not? Also, I love the soundboard of the partner. I do the same thing. I'll talk to my husband and obviously, like, the initial excitement is so high and he's okay. Is this not just like the thing that you talked about or like, like, I feel like you already learned this skill sometimes though, he's, that sounds like such a smart, strategic investment and I love that for you. And I'm like, okay, all gas, no breaks. I'm like, let's fucking go. Because if he has been watching my whole journey and also understands the gaps in my skills in the areas that I'm trying to improve in, and then he just can help motivate me. But sometimes he's, slow down. You just made this investment. Do you really need to sit with it for a little bit longer? So I think having somebody to be a sounding board so important. And what I'll say about your perspective, I think you and I share the same exact perspective around making an investment and not getting out of it what you were anticipating. There's so much to be learned there. Any decision you make with your money, if it doesn't lead to the result you're trying to have, the only way in life that it can really be a true failure is if you let it stop you, if you let it mean something, if you let it define you. If you are now like labeling yourself as somebody who makes bad choices or bad investments and you don't trust yourself to invest in that next person who is a really great fit for you or has the solution or can help you solve that next problem, that's the ultimate loss, right? I think that you learn so much about making investments in yourself and it's about listening to your intuition. You got to look back and be like, if I would have just paid attention to that, I probably wouldn't have pulled the trigger. But now you're so grounded and so confident in your decision making process and you probably wouldn't feel that confident in it if you didn't have an experience that led you to needing to create something like that. So I think that's such a good reminder that not everything's going to be a home run. And you learn almost as much, if not more from those failures because you learned a lot of ways you don't want to run a program in comparison to how you do want to run a program and how you want to make people feel inside of that. There's so many lessons with the wins and the losses when it comes to our money. So I love that you highlighted that.
I loved what you said about. Because I did not let that stop me. After that, I proceeded to make another investment that. That's was one of the best investments I ever made. It's. Yeah, you can't let it keep you down because there are really genuine tools and people and mentors that want to see you grow and succeed. Not to say that person I invested in wasn't great for the people that needed her, but it just wasn't a fit for me.
Now you know that, and you can stand even stronger in that decision. I want to talk about a part of your journey that I resonate with a lot, and I think other people will, too, and something that I'm just like. I think it's. It's so cool to see this from you. But let's talk about your career pivots, because you have pivoted a lot. You have gone from working in a law office, the marketing industry, the music industry, a makeup company, and now you just left corporate America a few months ago to run your business full time. Congratulations on the big jump. Having been there last year, it's scary as shit. I think a lot of people stay stuck in jobs. They stay stuck in careers that they don't love, that aren't helping them reach their fullest potential. Because they're afraid of what's on the other side. They're afraid of making the wrong choice. They're afraid that the grass is not going to be greener. They are really comfortable in their known. And I want to hear from you, like, how did you know it was time to make all these jumps? How can somebody use their intuition to really tap into trusting that maybe it is time to leave something behind and to just know that it's going to be okay?
I've had a lot of jobs. One thing about me is I am a quitter. I will quit if something is not right for me. I won't stay. I Think it's hard because a lot of the jargon, at least I grew up with, and probably a lot of people in our age group grew up with, was stay at a job as long as possible, build that longevity, get promoted, climb the ladder. Especially in the corporate world, that's just like, you get in at a company and that's what you do. And for me, that just. It just didn't resonate. The beginning of my career, the pivots were, in a way easier because I was trying so hard to get into my desired industry. I graduated from school, I applied to every talent agency in Los Angeles. None of them would have me. And so I was like, I need money. Let me just work at a law office. Knowing that that wasn't my final destination, I kept applying until I found this marketing agency that was like entertainment adjacent. I was like, great, that's a little closer. Let me leave and let me land there. I could have stayed, I could have gotten comfortable, I could have settled in. Luckily, it was a pretty intense place to work. My bosses weren't super nice. So while there, I was looking for positions closer or in the music industry until I eventually did. And I made that leap. Once I made it into my quote unquote dream job. I was working for this music festival company. It was literally my dream. And that's probably the longest job I've ever had. It took me a while to admit to myself that job wasn't right. That was probably the hardest thing I ever had to walk away from. Early on, it was magical. Like, I'm traveling the world, going to some of the biggest music festivals for free, working backstage with the biggest DJs, biggest names ever, and I'm with my friends, and it was so fun. But it really started to wear on me. It started to wear on the relationships in my life. I was traveling so much. I was dealing with some really difficult personalities. The situation just started to become more and more toxic, but I just didn't want to let go. I was like, I can just climb the ladder here and I can just figure it out. I'll make it work. But my body started breaking down. I started having really bad physical symptoms. I got really sick with these weird, random illnesses. I was experiencing anxiety and depression for the first time since high school. I was just feeling really off balance and off center. And it was around that time that I started to open up my intuitive gifts because I was at that breaking point. I knew I needed to walk away because I just simply felt like I wasn't myself anymore. I Was like, wow, I am just not the version of me that I know myself to be. And when I sit and meditate and connect with my soul, there's this essence of me, my true self, that I am not embodying at all. I feel like that is weirdly also a common thread between every job I've left. Once I started to get irrationally angry about really little things, I was like, wow, okay, this is just not the right fit. There's something deeper here. And it's a signal to my body that this is just not right for you, you anymore. So I walked away from that job into a really scary pivot of going to another production agency. I think I wrapped up so much of my identity in that job that even after I left, I followed my intuition. I knew I was making the right choice. And this is something that people don't talk about a lot when you follow your intuition is the doubt that comes after, did I make the right choice? You know, inside, but you're like, this isn't amazing, this isn't magical. But my intuition was leading me to a bridge. It led me to the perfect space for me to heal. This new company was a lot smaller. Everybody was nice. It was like a slower pace and I was quite honestly recovering. It was like job rehab. And I was able to move and transition into my next few jobs after that. And it's funny, I think you know, when it's time to walk away, when you're just not you, when you're really angry, when you feel like the work you're doing isn't fulfilling or aligned. My confidence to leap was just this innate knowing that if this is what I was meant to be doing, it wouldn't feel like this. And so there must be something better out there for me. I've relentlessly pursued that until it led me here to starting my own thing. I don't think working in a 9 to 5 office corporate setting was ever for me. The universe was always leading me here. But I am grateful that I got to try a lot of different things. And I think some people would look at my resume or look at my life and be like, wow, yeah, you've had a lot of different jobs, like in a passive aggressive way. But it's girl, I've seen some stuff. I've met a lot of people. I have developed and gained so many life skills by being in all of the different situations that I've been in that I could have never gotten if I just stopped when I was at that marketing agency because it was good enough.
Oh, my gosh, like, mic drop moment there. Because I feel like that's. It's so real. This thought of us just having to follow this path of climbing the corporate ladder, it's so ingrained, right? Go to college, get a good job, climb the corporate ladder, stay there, get the promotions, get locked into everything. And it just doesn't need to be your path. And I feel like our generation is getting a lot more tapped into the ability to make those jumps. But I look at what you did, and I think that's awesome. I feel like that's a skill that we all need to cultivate and really work on is trusting. If something's not for me, then you have the permission to go do something else. Like, you don't have to stay stuck in something. And I think what you said about if it was for you, it wouldn't feel so hard and it wouldn't feel so frustrating is so real because I remember that was a sign for me. I was at the end of my job, I was like, everything is just so irritating to me. Everybody's so annoying. Every little email I get, you see those memes where it's like when someone emails me to ask me to do something about my job and I just am, like, pissed about it. I was just so frustrated about everything. I would come home and I would cry and I was just so angry. And I'm just like, it shouldn't feel like this. This is what I thought I wanted and I'm here and this just is not it. And I remember when I finally made the decision to walk away, it was this knowing of. I know this isn't what's meant for me, and I don't know what's going to happen next on paper. Logically, I should definitely not leave. This doesn't make any logical sense. It certainly doesn't make any financial sense to walk away from this. But I just know there's something else for me. And I think what's really important for people to recognize is that whatever that next step is doesn't necessarily need to be your forever. Like you said, it could just be a stepping stone. It's just guiding you to a place where you can slow down, where you can come out of fight or flight maybe where you can really start to tap into what could be next for you. And sometimes we just need that middle ground to be able to look up and take a fresh breath and see what could be next for us. So I love that you highlighted that.
That I feel like it's Something that I see so much in my readings, too. People come to me and they're like, what if I make the wrong choice? Or what if I do this and it's wrong? Something that I'm always reminded by my guides and other people's guides when I'm in a reading is that all roads really do lead to our highest expression. There is no wrong choice. But I think it can be a lot more dangerous to not make a move at all than it is to make a move and have it feel uncomfortable or hard.
I want to talk about the concept of fear versus intuition because we have these gut checks of what could be next for me. And then fear will start to creep in, right? And you and I both know that fear is a sneaky little bitch. Fear can sound so rational. It starts to come up with all of the real reasons that you should probably not make that next step. And they sound great. They're like, oh, no, you're right, I probably shouldn't do that because of whatever the reason is, right? And then fear starts to get so loud that it sometimes can be hard to listen to your intuition. Or sometimes people will think, maybe this is my intuition saying, I shouldn't take that risk. I shouldn't do that next step. I. It's not the right time for me to launch this thing in my business or not that right time for me to do whatever. And it's, oh, that's my intuition. And I think it can probably get very mixed in there of what is what. So let's talk about it. What is the difference between fear and intuition? And how can you tell if it's an intuitive thing that's guiding you or if it's fear trying to keep you stuck where you're at?
One of my mentors says a really good way to distinguish between intuition and fear is if there's a should, a could, a would, or a need in the thought pattern or the statement that's running through your head that is fear or your ego and not intuition. Intuition has no conditions around it. And all of those words create or are part of a condition. And so your intuition is unconditional. It doesn't really. It comes from your soul, which is unconditional. It's really not trying to get or attain anything other than bringing you into alignment with your highest self or your soul. That's always the place that your intuition is leading you. And so your intuition always comes through really quiet, gentle loving is guiding you towards the bigger picture. Like it's not really getting caught up in the details. It's like when people are like when you manifest. Don't get caught up in the how. That's a little bit of how your intuition communicates with you. It almost sends you this little whisper, this little hit. It can be something like, if we're talking about texting an ex, your fear will be like, yes, text them. You have to do that and your intuition will say something like, do for you that which is most loving. Like, connect into your heart and feel into the choice you want to make. Intuition is so, so much more loving and soft than we give it credit for. The reason that the fear is so present for us is one we basically have been handing at the mic our entire life. Because we never were taught how to tap into that quiet part of us. We're often not slowing down. We're not getting still, we're not getting present, we're not getting quiet. I think when we're in spaces where we really need to listen to our intuition, there's a lot of self imposed avoidance where we're like, yeah, I'm going to take this walk and I'm going to blast music the whole time. Where I'm just going to calm my friend or I don't need to meditate, let me clean my house. That is part of the reason we're like, how do I know the difference? But have you ever stopped and tried to listen? Because the second that you stop and get quiet, it becomes extremely obvious. The fear versus the intuition that's living within you. Fear is just very results based, it's very action based. And we can also use anxiety as another word for fear. It'll be like, make that investment. If you don't make that investment, then you'll never be successful. Whereas your intuition will say, this feels expansive. This mentor is someone who can open your portal of creative energy. The feeling is so different.
I'm obsessed with the way that you describe that. And actually putting the tangible words is so helpful. It does show up as a, this is probably what I should do or it could. And it's just because you should or you could doesn't necessarily mean that's what's next for you or, or the path that your soul is taking you down. So I think that's really tangible. I'm gonna go back, listen to that and write those words down. And I might put those things on a post it note and leave it somewhere where I'm like, hold on, who is controlling the show right now? Because we do not want fear to be in the driver's seat. We know that. One of the things I'm obsessed with, that you talk about is the fact that everybody has these intuitive gifts. Everybody can tap into these psychic abilities because it is so commonly thought that it's rare and that you are just a chosen one if you are a psychic. But you talk about how everybody has these gifts. And so. So I would love to hear you talk about the different senses. Is that the right way to talk about, like clairvoyance, Clairaudience? If you could run through these and help us understand what the different ones are and how they might be showing up for us so we can start to figure out what our intuitive gifts are. Yes.
This is my favorite topic to talk about because I was one of those people too. I was like, psychics are just born with a superpower. Like, you just have this thing. And don't get me wrong, some people are more tapped in than other people. We've got like the Tyler Henry's and whatnot of the world. And they were just born. That was their very clear path and indicator. And I think something that a lot of us forget is how deeply intuitive and open we are as children. Then eventually we shut down those gifts and we move into the normal world. So if you're looking for proof to yourself, think about the ways that you used to play as a child. You would make up games, you would make up names. For a lot of people. Your spirit guides are like a character or, or a name that you used to play with an imaginary friend. That's the name of your spirit guide. Like you, it's all so accessible to you when you're a little kid. And then we shut it down. I think for people who don't have this shutting down moment, they either. That just wasn't part of their spiritual contact. They could be a very old soul or they were an environment that nurtured that. I was not one of those people. I had no idea. Then I went through the awakening as we talked about and I. I actively and intentionally opened up my gifts. That's why I say, if I can do it, you can do it. Because I wasn't seeing visions, I wasn't seeing ghosts. There was like no weird, crazy experiences happening to me. I wasn't like channeling angels. I just was living my life. The thing that kind of changed things for me was learning what my strongest psychic sense was. These are also known as the clairsenses. And so these are the ways that we receive intuition. And so there's, there's four main ones. There's Clairvoyance, clear seeing, clairaudience, clear hearing, clairsentience, clear feeling, and clair. Cognizance, clear knowing. And so we have all four. All four are available to all of us, but usually we have one that is the strongest. For me, my clairvoyance was the strongest sense that I had. So I'm an incredibly vivid dreamer. I. I'm like a visual learner. I need to see something presented to me when I close my eyes. I can play decisions or scenarios out like a movie in my head. So if you do those things, clairvoyance is likely your strongest psychic sense, too. Clairaudience was a close second for me. This one's a little confusing because you think clear hearing. So what you just hear God, like, blast your ears or something like that. And it's a bit sneaky. It's like you almost. When you're in. When you're going to connect, it's like you're hearing your voice. Voice, but it's like outside of you slightly. It's almost like a thought, but the feeling is different. So that's how you'll know. The feeling will feel like a bit higher than a thought, the frequency of it. And you are likely clairaudient. If you feel really attached to music. Like music really affects you. Like, it makes you feel types of things. If you ask for a sign, it'll come in the form of a song or a phrase. You're really affected by people's words. You could be a really strong writer. Just words and phrases often hold special meaning for you. If you're clairsentient. That's like a lot of people. You're like a vibes person. Like, you go into the room, you just are like, something is weird here. I feel off. Maybe you feel warmth washing over you. If you're connecting with an angel, you'll get, like, chills or tingles. You can be really sensitive to touch and highly empathetic, feeling other people's pain and emotions as if it was your own. And so that is a really fascinating one and something that you do have to be careful with, with boundaries. Then there's Claire cognizance. I think this is what people think psychics are. You just know something. And so if you are somebody and this can this. I actually talk to a lot of clients who have this and they're like, yeah, I was in that meeting and I just knew that boss, my boss was gonna flip and fire someone. Even though it was a normal day, I knew that he cheated on her. It's stuff like that where you're like, I just knew it. And it's almost like you get really strong feelings in your gut. I feel like if you're someone who talks about their gut a lot or you're att to that way of describing your intuition, you can be claircognizant and so you can develop these things. Honestly, ChatGPT is a fabulous resource. If you're like, hi, I think I am clairvoyant. What are a few games I can play to do on a day to day basis to strengthen my gifts? Sometimes I just do it to mess around and it's actually super effective. Sitting in silence and meditating is always going to be the quickest way to discover your gifts. I also have have a free resource if anybody wants to check it out, a little quiz that you can take and a meditation to practice.
We'll definitely pop that in the show notes. I am the visual one for sure. And then almost like the knowing one. Sometimes I'll just I don't know why I know this. I don't know why I know this fact. I don't know why I know that something's going to happen. And speaking of games, I just recently got fed a bunch of videos on my Instagram algorithm of the guess what color is going to be on the back of this card when I flip it over or guess what number and I'm like scrolling and I got five right in a row and I'm like like what is happening? I don't know how I know these things. And so that's so funny that you mentioned that because I was just like, am I being pranked right now? I did not know how I was going to know all of those, but we just kept getting them right.
Wow. So intuitive.
I know. Okay, so you talk about spirit team, our spirit guides. I want to talk about this because I feel like we hear about this, our spirit guides, signs from the universe, all of this stuff. So let's deep dive into this because I have so many questions here. When we think about our spirit guides, who is our spirit guide? Is it a person? Is it a thing? Is it like us? Talk to me a little bit about what we talk about when we mention our spirit guides.
Yes. Oh my gosh. I see so much weird information about who and what spirit guides are and I love talking about this because this is my experience and sure. Am I like the end all, be all? No. But this was how I was taught and this is what I have seen and been told by spirit guides in My readings. And so spirit guides are essentially, are like ethereal cosmic tutorial. They are with us every second of every day, 24, 7, 365, from the moment our soul is created by the universe, right? We're like spit out into the world. We're like a little baby soul. And we get this tutor who just is with us for every single one of our lifetimes until we are ready to graduate and potentially become a spirit guide ourselves. It is for this reason the fact that they are with us across Every single lifetime. 247365. That spirit guides are not a human that you have known or an animal, because if they were having a human karmic experience, they would not be accessible to you. They would not be able to be studying the charts and the graphs of the moves that you're making and the choices that you're doing. They wouldn't be accessible. They'd be in their own human experience. This isn't to say that your past loved ones, your pets, your animals are not on the other side and part of your team. They totally are. They're just not necessarily your spirit guides. And spirit guides, the way I like to describe them, really are like our tutors and our mentors. They sit with you, help you pick out a life, design it, who your parents are, your friends are, some of the big chapters and some of the lessons, like going to college and picking the classes and the curriculum, the subject matter in the classes, that's up to you. And the choices that you make, like that very like those little details, those get all filled in later. You guys are like doing the outline because you come into a life with a purpose or an intention of, I want to learn this. I want to get better at this. And all of the experiences that you have are organized perfectly to facilitate that. And so your guide helps you with that. The thing about spirit guides is, is I go to them when I need advice. I'm asking them to help me see how is this hard thing here for me. Whenever I want like a perspective shift or a. I'm kind of asking them for their advice on that. Spirit guides don't do a lot of magical healing. They don't have the capability to interfere. And it's not really in their best interest to interfere. So if I'm looking for a miracle or someone to help me out, that's when I'll call on my angels. We all have personal angels, and then we have archangels who are available to all of us. I'm sure you guys have heard of Archangel Michael or Archangel Metatron. Those angels are the ones who will keep you safe in a scary situation. Or they'll be the people who can help pull you out of a near death experience. Or if you're just going through a hard time, it needs some healing, or you have this block in your way. Angels can do more interference on the timeline, but spirit guides are fantastic because they probably have the most comprehensive view of your nature and your life and how you act and the thing that you need to learn from something. And I go to my guides with investments too, because they're the ones that know, yes, this is good, no, this is bad. Because they know your patterning, they know where you need to go, and they'll always give really sound advice. They can present in a lot of different ways. For some clients, they look like a human. Some clients, they can look like a Disney character or a character from their past. Sometimes it can be an animal, sometimes it can just be like a blob or a color. They present to me the way that my client is going to recognize them. Like, I had a client the other day and I'm getting the details of her guides and I was like, yeah, it's funny. Like your guide, she's presenting like Tinkerbell and she's saying that her name is Phoebe. I opened my eyes and she's, oh, my God, like, I was obsessed with Tinkerbell and I've always said that Phoebe, I want that to be the name. Love my kid, kid. And I was like, wow. So they really do present to me and the way that you will recognize them.
Okay, wow. So interesting. Okay, so when we're thinking about signs, is there a right way and a wrong way to ask the universe for a sign?
Signs are so funny. I love asking for signs and I've always asked for signs, but I think the wrong way to ask for a sign is if you're trying to basically strong arm the universe into a choice. Like, I know, like, I'm sure a lot of us can know. Like, we've been there. We're like, send me a sign. But we already know we want to do. And then like, you see the sign and you're like, that wasn't it.
That's not the sign I wanted.
Ignore, ignore, try again. And then you're like, trying to get it to do the choice that you want. And it's. That's not that. Like, it's never going to work like that. So I always say, ask for signs and make sure you're open to whatever the Outcome is be in complete and total surrender. And really try not to put the universe on a timeline. Don't be like, I need to see this by the end of today or by the end of the week or whatever. And I know it can be hard when we're asking about career stuff or stuff like that. Can you just trust that the universe will send it to you the way it's meant to? I would also go for asking for signs that are less obvious. I think angel numbers are amazing, but they're not something that I necessarily use for super specific signs from the universe, just because a lot of times angel numbers are, to me, just an indicator from our team that we're in flow or out of flow. They're more of just like, hey, you're seeing 333, you're living in alignment. Or it's like you're going through a hard time and they're like, we see you and we love you, and we're sending you this affirmation. I always ask for something that I love to ask for is double butterflies. I love asking for double rainbows, like doubles of stuff. So, yeah, there's no wrong way. If you're at the beginning of your journey of spirituality and asking for signs, start small, start silly. The more attached you are to something, the harder it is to receive the information clearly without that ego mind in and wanting to control the answer from the universe. So it could be like, should I get a pedicure this week? Should I order this for dinner? Just play with silly stuff that you don't really care about, and you'll start to build up that muscle of, whoa, okay, When I ask, the universe does communicate. When I'm just surrendered and completely open to whatever that answer is, I always receive something. And so that way, when you do get to the big decision of, should I break up with him? Should I quit my job? Should I do XYZ thing? You have that level of trust established and you don't have to move in to control the outcome.
On that note, if we get signs, what happens if we don't listen to them? And are our spirit guides ever just so frustrated with us? I'm like, are they mad at me for not listening to the sign or wanting to go a different direction? What's going on in their head?
Oh, my gosh. This is so funny, because obviously I know I could connect guides all day, every day. They have no. They exist on a plane where anger and frustration does not exist. They're living in this frequency where love is maybe the Lowest frequency, and then above that, it's joy, bliss, whatever. We can't even imagine. They're never angry. They're just in observance and in reverence for our path. The thing about guides is they were once humans who graduated. They get it. They know how hard it can be. They're like, look, I've been there. We come here to forget on purpose. Purpose so we can learn. If we already knew, we would never learn. So it's just. Imagine like the most patient kindergarten teacher ever. That's their energy because that's how they see us. We're like little kindergartners running around like we have no idea what we're doing. Exactly. Exactly. So they're never mad, and they're always creating opportunity. And them and the universe are always creating opportunities for us to learn and to align to our highest path. And so they're never mad at us. The thing about out if we make the wrong move or if we don't move or if we don't listen to the sign, they and the universe are always presenting us with an opportunity to learn that lesson or move into our highest path. Let's say we keep ignoring the signs to quit our job. They're gonna send more and more situations to make that place impossible to work. Maybe you get a change in leadership or they cut your pay or something weird happens. And until you're literally at your breaking point, I am forced to le that's what's gonna happen. And eventually you will leave because it will get so bad. And so that's always the thing with signs and intuition. They're a whisper. They're so minute and subtle until they have to become loud enough to shake you out of the place that you're in. They're never mad at us. But I think sometimes I'm sure they do find it funny how long it could take us to learn a lesson because they're like, wow, she's really attached to that condition or that negative feeling. We become addicted to negative feelings and beliefs. We really. And I think they are just like, wow, it's just taken her a minute. Even with my job stuff, I think that's a big thing. I felt like there were so many times I just did not jump. I did not listen. And the universe really sent me some pretty crazy things to show me. You are not in alignment, and it's time for you to pick a new path.
Yeah, they're just up there. Literally. How obnoxious can we make this situation for her before she realizes she needs to get the fuck out.
Yep, exactly.
Okay, this leads me to my next question, which is is, can we make the wrong choice? And is it possible for us to miss our destiny?
Oh, my gosh, no, we. You can never miss your destiny. I truly believe that. And there's no wrong choices. I think even, like, we even touched on this episode with money. It's just every quote, unquote, wrong choice is a lesson. It's something that you learn from, and then you go and you make a new choice. Having that information from that quote, unquote, wrong choice, and that new choice catapults you tenfold. Sometimes we think of a wrong choice as a setback, when actually it's the thing that can help us. Quantum leap. And so it's all about perspective. It's all about perception. And how I think about it is that everything is neutral. There's no right, there's no wrong. It's just, where is my growth in this? Is this leading me into more alignment with my true essence? We think of our destiny potentially as a job or a career. Sure, maybe. If you're thinking my destiny was to be like Britney Spears, you're probably going to miss your destiny. But your destiny is so much bigger than some sort of career or level of fame or follower count on Instagram. Your destiny is becoming the truest version of you. The person that's so authentically herself, that recognizes and remembers her true power and creative essence, and remembers that you can create, be, and do anything you want. And I think when you think of that as your destiny, how could you ever miss it?
It love that. So good. Is there anything else people need to know about utilizing their intuition to guide their financial decisions?
Let's see. I think really notice how something makes you feel. I think a lot of times when I go to make a financial decision that's not aligned by. Adrenaline is so high, and I'm extremely dysregulated. I have a pit in my stomach, stomach, and I'm sweating. Really notice what your body is trying to tell you. That's the quickest way to hear your intuition. Because our intuition communicates with us more through our body than through our mind. Right. Our mind is almost like this separate entity from our intuition. So when you're looking at your finances, when you're looking at an investment you want to make, really notice the feeling in your body and trust that whatever is the right thing for you to do is always going to feel calm and neutral. It might feel. Feel a bit scary, it might feel a bit stretchy, but you don't feel like you're in this hyperactive mode and it doesn't make you feel super depressed or lethargic. Even after it should be like, there shouldn't be like this big rise and fall. It should just be like I press pay and then I let go about my day. And I think other ways to work with your intuition when it comes to organizing your finances is knowing that an organized bank account can actually make you more intuitive. When I know my finances are an organization order, my nervous system is regulated. And when your nervous system is regulated, that is the only way you can actually hear your intuition over fear. Right. You're so much more calm, you're more peaceful. Your fear and anxiety are not the loudest voice in the room. Quite honestly, having an organized bank account, having savings, making smart investments is a spiritual practice.
My God. Say it again. Rewind play. Say it louder for the people in the back. It really is a spiritual practice and it is a self care modality when you really think about it. Because when we are stressed about our money, we are stressed about everything because it is such a stressor and it. You're so spot on with the nervous system regulation. When you understand your money, you understand how it's supporting your life and you can actually move out of fight or flight. That is when you get to really start making some great decisions for your life, for your money, for everything. So that was such a good little money note. I have just a few questions for you selfishly of like, I wanna know more about. About what do you do as a psychic medium to stay grounded and protect your energy? And what do you do to recharge when your energy feels off or drained or when you get in a funk? How do you quickly pull yourself out of that and stay at this level that I'm sure you have to stay at to operate?
Yeah. This is something that is a continuing practice for me. I'm really fortunate in the way I was taught to do psychic work. It came with the foundation of having really strong, what I like to call psychic boundaries. When I connect, connect, I'm in the same space every time. I always have an area of my home where I do this work. So it feels separate from the rest of my house. And when I go into connect, I'm always making sure I'm grounding my energy into the earth, connecting up, asking for protection from my angels, my guides, my team. And I'm being incredibly specific about who and what I'm connecting with. I think for anybody who's I want to Try this at home. If you do want to try this at home and you're just starting out and you, like, go into meditate, always ground, connect up to God, source, universe, whatever. Ask your angels for protection and say, I want to connect to this thing today. Maybe that's your soul, your spirit guide, your spirit animal, your grandma who passed over one at a time. That way you can know exactly what energy is coming in, and it just will help you discern between the different people and the vibes, and it helps keep you safe. It can be incredibly draining. I do a lot of mediumship, and so connecting with past loved ones can be a lot. I love it, but it can definitely be draining. And so I spend a lot of time taking walks, moving my body. I consciously clear my energy every morning and every night when I wake up, I just cleanse from my dreams. Because you could do a lot of.
Work in a dream state.
I cleanse from my dreams. I put a protective bubble of energy around myself, and then as I'm getting into bed, I. I pop that bubble, cleanse anything that was on it, and then do the same thing again. I honestly spend a lot of time meditating, doing breath work. I drink a lot of grounding herbs like cacao and teas. I spend energy doing this. But that's not to say I'm only doing blue spiritual stuff. For me, sometimes the best way to disconnect from all of that is just having a glass of wine and watching Bravo. And that can be incredibly regulating for me as well. I think if you're someone who is in a funk right now or you've been in a funk and you want to get out. I always offer gentle movement and going outside into nature, practicing, being in awe of life and seeing the magic. Like, I love that trend that was going around, like pretending like I died and today was my first day back or my second chance, because it helps shift your perspective. When we're in that funk, it means the mind is winning. The mind is telling you these stories, and it's, like, keeping you down, like, under its thumb. And all of those stories, those beliefs, like, they're just louder than your true self. And knowing that your true self is in there. And I feel like walking and being outside and connecting with nature, it just really helps clear that veil off of you and see the truth of what's going on.
I think that was such a good little nugget in there that if you feel like you're in a funk, it just means your mind is winning. That's a Good perspective shift. And something that's going to help pull me out of my future funk. I understand how important mindset is, but sometimes you it. This is all that's happening right now. It's okay. We're gonna work through this. Okay. I have a little game. I've never done this before, but I thought it would be really fun to play with you. It's a little rapid fire. I'm just gonna throw out some habits, some beliefs, some actions, and I want you to tell us if they are helping us get more in tune with our energy or less in tune. You can just say in or out, yes or no, Whatever feels better. Feel free to. You can add in any explanation if you want to, or we can just. Yes. No. Roll through them. Okay. Ready? Okay. Scrolling on your phone. First thing in the morning.
Oh my God. No, don't do that.
Don't do that. Waiting for a sign before making a decision.
Yes. But as long as you're doing it in the way that we talked about and if the sign never comes, trusting that you have everything you need to make the right choice or quote, unquote.
Right choice, love it. Because there is no wrong choice.
Yes.
Okay. 3. Cutting off friends or family because they have bad energy.
I think that's important. I think doing it from a place of love for yourself versus a place of judgment to them is important. Understanding your intention is important.
That is good. Okay. Drinking caffeine every day.
Yes, but don't overdo it. And if you are experiencing anxiety, that is the first thing that has to do with go.
What about drinking alcohol?
Yes, it's fine. What? It's fine.
It's fine.
I drink, period. And. And I think it's fine. Obviously I don't party like I used to. Being hungover. Can I never give or would never give a reading? And I just trust that day I'm probably going to not be my most intuitive highest self. But that's okay.
It's all about balance.
It's all about balance.
Exactly. But if you're really wanting to tap into it that day, don't.
No, absolutely. Absolutely not.
Okay. Following astrology to make major life decisions.
No, that might be a hot take, but I think that understanding the energy is important. But also your intuition, you'll know. You'll know if it's a yes or a no. And the astrology is secondary.
Okay. Living by this idea. Everything happens for a reason.
Yeah, that's a good one, I'd say. True.
Unfortunately, that's how I live my life. Following gut feelings Even when they don't make logical sense.
Yes. That's the only way you're going to get where you're meant to go. That's why we don't know how we're supposed to get to our dream life is because we go from A to G when we follow our gut, when we go with our mind, we go A, B, C, D, E, F, G. You want the shortcut? Follow your gut.
Love that total. You should trademark that. That's good.
I know.
Manifesting money but not managing it well.
Oh, yeah, that's not good. Like we said, caring for your money is a spiritual practice. And so if you're calling in money and you can't manage it, one, you're not going to get any money, and two, it's just. It doesn't make any sense. It's going to be gone in a second and you'll actually end up with nothing.
Yeah, we got to treat our money well, ladies. Exactly. All right, last one. Listening to Tarot readers on TikTok for Life of advice.
No, don't do it.
They're fun. Don't get me wrong. Oh, that message really spoke to me. But yeah, let's not do anything major with that stuff.
If you're feeling called to a reading, just go and do it. Because being like one on one with person, they. The message is one specifically tailored to you and your situation. They have an understanding of your energy. Those messages, sure, they're tapping into the collective energy, but we all have our own unique signatures and experiences. And also, you never know how in integrity those people are. So just be careful.
Yeah. So if you want a reading, you're gonna go book with Caroline because we're gonna link all of her stuff in the show notes and you can actually get a good reading from the spirit team. All right, last two questions for you. If there is one book you could recommend to me and to the listeners if they wanna learn more about this, what should we read? Yes.
Journey of Souls is the book that started it all. I think it's by Michael Newton. And while it doesn't directly touch on developing your psychic gifts, it gives you a strong foundation of the landscape of who or what you are connecting with on the other side, what your soul is, what a soul is, and what they feel like and sounds like. I just feel like it offers incredible perspective. I feel like that was the book that really blew my mind and informs everything I do today.
Amazing. Adding to my list. We'll read read next and then please tell us what is one thing that you are busy getting better at right now.
Ooh. Right now. I am busy getting better at working with tarot. I had never used tarot. I was a little bit on my spiritual high horse. I was like, I don't use cards. It's all from my mind or whatever. But then I started having dreams about doing tarot readings, and I felt really called to the cards. I'm learning those and working with a mentor who's done it for 30 years. I love her and I'm having the best time. I feel like a spiritual novice again, and it's fun.
Oh, my God, I love that. Caroline, thank you so much. This has been one of my favorite conversations I've had on the podcast. I absolutely love the topic. You have so much insight to share and you are so tuned into this. You gave me so many good mic drop moments and perspective shifts, which I think is so cool. So please tell everybody where they can find you if they want to work with you. What does that look like? We'll link everything in the show notes, but go ahead and and lay it on the people.
Thank you for saying that. I absolutely loved this and talking about spirituality from the perspective of money and your finances. If you're curious about meeting your spirit team, getting messages from your guides or past loved ones, book a reading with me. I offer 60 minute psychic readings called Soul Sessions. You can book at my website, WW Peace in chaosny.com or hang with me on Instagram @peaceandchaosny and see a little bit about my life in New York City being a psychic, and lots of videos of my dog.
