Marcel Fernandes explains how curating what you consume changed his life. He went from poverty to millionaire by studying Jim Rohn and Tai Lopez, then shows you how to audit your YouTube algorithm by marking videos "not interested" and unsubscribing from channels that drain you.

Stand guard at the door of your mind. You know, this is one of those things that I learned from my mentor Jim Rohn back in 2019, helped change my life. Stand guard at the door of your mind. Now, what does that mean, Marcel? Well, what are you listening to? Who are you listening to? You know, the Bible says that it's the blind leading the blind, and that's how we live most days today in 2025, 2026, is the blind leading the blind. People that don't know what they're talking about leading other people that don't know what they're talking about. Be very careful who you listen to. Be very careful who you watch. If you open your YouTube, right? In fact, let's do that right now, right? Let me, let me open my iPhone here and let me open up my YouTube. Let's do that literally right now. No cuts. Okay. What shows up in your algorithm here? Okay. Literally, what are the first few videos that show up on my algorithm? Personal development. Religion, business. Does your YouTube algorithm reflect your results? Does your YouTube algorithm reflect your results? The answer is of course, of course it does. Your YouTube algorithm definitely reflects your results. And if you open up your YouTube algorithm right now, what are you consuming? What is it showing you? It's only showing you what you click and what you watch and what you consume and what you engage with and what you watch the most. One day, there's this guy that works for me, Ed. He has an extremely open heart and humble heart and coachable heart. Somebody that wanted to learn, wanted to grow. He started working for me as a customer service rep, right? And now he's, you know, my COO. He runs my entire business. And he's grown immensely with me, right? And one of the things I told him one day is open your YouTube, show me what your algorithm shows. And you know, it would show like music videos or video game videos, streamers and stuff like that. And I told him, literally go into your YouTube algorithm. You know, you can click on not interested. You know, you can, you can click on this, this little 3, these little 3 dots here. And you can say not interested or don't recommend channel. Right. And I said, do that for every single one of the videos and start watching business videos. Start watching personal development videos. I showed him the video that changed my life. In fact, it's on my channel. If you guys want to see it, it's the video that changed my life by Jim Rohn called Best Life Ever. It's a 4-hour-and-a-half-long seminar that Jim Rohn did in the 1990s, and that video changed my life completely. I first saw that video in 2019. I consider Jim Rohn to be my mentor, and, um, 5 years later after watching that video, I became a millionaire. Why? I started learning everything that Jim Rohn was teaching me, right? And I started applying. I was an obsessed student, and I started doing every single thing he told me to do. The books to read, the time to wake up, the time to work, you know, what to do, what not to do, how to think, how to walk, how to act. And one of the things that I learned from Jim Rohn that changed my life is stand guard at the door of your mind. Reflect upon what you're watching, reflect upon what the content you're consuming, the music you're listening to. Are you listening to these degenerate songs, you know, nowadays, rap music, hip-hop? And don't get me wrong, there's a bunch of good rap and hip-hop lyrics, but most of them are just degenerate stuff, you know, talking about drugs, hookers, sex, and whatever. And that's not something that's going to edify your something that's gonna edify your soul is, say, you know, worship music, classical music. So really stand guard at the door of your mind. Standing guard at the door of your mind means careful what you consume. Be careful what you consume. Is what you're consuming edifying you or destroying you? So pay attention to who you follow on social media. Pay attention to who you're subscribed to on YouTube. Pay attention to the, you know, podcasts you, you listen to. Pay attention to the videos you watch, to the TV shows you watch, to the music you listen to. To the people you listen to. Very, very important. Pay attention to the people you listen to. Most of the times, people don't want your best interest at heart. Most of the people, even if they do want your best interest at heart, they don't know what they're doing, right? So they're gonna give you bad advice. It's the blind leading the blind, like the Bible says, right? So stand guard at the door of your mind. Don't let anything get into your mind. Really stand guard at it and, you know, filter out what you consume. So what I want you to do right now, this is your task for the day. You know, you don't need to wait till tomorrow, till next week, till next month, till next year to start changing your life. You can start today, right? What I want you to do as soon as today is I want you to open up your YouTube, right? Open up your YouTube, figure out what your algorithm is showing you. If it's games, if it's music, if it's stuff that doesn't edify you and doesn't teach you anything, doesn't make you grow, doesn't teach you any skills, doesn't teach you personal development, Just say, not interested, not interested, not interested in every single one of them. Then start watching personal development channels. Search for Jim Rohn, search for Tony Robbins, search for, um, this guy that changed my life, uh, Gary Vaynerchuk. Tai Lopez talks about business. He was one of the first, um, gurus that I found that helped change my life. You know, I saw this video one time of Tai Lopez in his garage, that famous, uh, here in my garage advertising, right? He was like, here in my garage, just got this new Lamborghini. And I was a broke kid, you know, living in a poor third world country, born to poor parents. You know, my dad was a Domino's Pizza delivery boy, my mom was a maid, and I saw that video and I had no way out. I had no opportunity. I had no college degree or anything. I saw that video and I didn't have money to buy his course at the time, but I started following him, watching his live streams. He used to do a bunch of live streams back in the day, right? Tai Lopez. I just started following him, following his live streams and stuff, learning from him, right? Always be learning, always be learning. And I started learning from him what he was teaching, what he was doing, and I started developing myself, learning personal personal development. Then Tai recommended a video by Jim Rohn called Best Life Ever, 4-hour-and-a-half-long seminar he did in the '90s. And I watched that video in 2019, and my life was never the same after then. So Tai Lopez was the first seed that was planted in my mind that it's possible to change, even if coming from a poor third-world country, born to poor parents, you can, you can change your life, right? Tai Lopez planted that seed in my mind. Then came Jim Rohn. I learned from him. All the things that I needed to do, the books to read, the, you know, things to study, how to change my life. And that's what I did. How to set goals, how to set plans to achieve those goals. And I set the goals, I set the plans, and I did it again and again and again every single day. I didn't give up. There were ups and downs. You know, sometimes I was up here, sometimes I was down here, but that's just the process, right? And you got to learn to enjoy the process. But anyways, the point I'm trying to make is Stand guard at the door of your mind. Okay, go over your YouTube subscriptions. Who do you subscribe to? You know what, you can even start a brand new YouTube account. Start searching Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins, Tai Lopez, Gary Vaynerchuk, person— these personal development guys, right? Guys that are really going to edify your soul and teach you something. Alex Hormozi, very good guy to follow for, um, business content. Dan Henry, friend of mine, very good guy to follow for marketing and branding content. Yeah, there's just so much good content nowadays. You know, Charlie Kirk, you can start watching his stuff on Christianity, on politics, how to become a better man, how to become a better woman. There's this guy, what's his name, Frank something, talks about Christianity and stuff. Let me find this guy real quick. Yeah, this guy, Cross Examined. I would encourage you to follow him, you know, if you're a believer. And even if you're not a believer, you know, whatever religion you are, if you're Muslim, if you're a Jew, I would encourage you to Follow him and start analyzing your beliefs and analyze if they are, you know, the correct beliefs. Because sometimes, again, goes back to standing guard at the door of your mind. Most people go through the motion and don't question what they believe in and why they believe in. And so, you know, I went through this whole journey of studying most major religions in the world, and I landed on Christianity being the religion with the most historical evidence for being the true, the one and true religion. And so Anyways, that's a guy that helped open my, my mind to that. Cliff Knechtel is also another guy that helped open my mind to Christianity and understand that it's the actual truth. Anyways, I ramble, right? I'm talking about a bunch of things, but I'm just trying to get you to understand that you need to stand guard at the door of your mind and you need to pick and choose who you're going to follow, who you're going to listen to, who you're going to watch, right? So go on your YouTube channel, unfollow a bunch of people. Follow good people. Say, you know, don't recommend channel, don't recommend channel, not interested, not interested in a bunch of things that you're watching right now. Same thing on Instagram. Go to your Instagram, say not interested, not interested, not interested in most things that you're following. Follow things that are going to edify you, or better yet, just delete the Instagram app from your phone. Right? I only have it on my phone still because unfortunately it's part of my business. I need to post, I need to post content and stuff. I'm trying to figure out a way that I don't need to have Instagram on my phone, to be honest. But yeah, I still need it. Unfortunately. Anyway, so do that. That's your task for the day. Stand guard at the door of your mind. Love you. Bye.
