STILL POSSIBLE TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL IN AMERICA?

A self-made millionaire from a poor third-world background argues that America's abundance of capital, markets, education, and books makes success possible for anyone willing to take responsibility. He says blaming taxes, inflation, or politics is a false excuse; real failure comes from flawed personal philosophy.

I was born in a poor third world country to poor parents, and I became a self-made millionaire in my 20s. If you live in the United States of America and you don't have your life put together, you don't make the amount of money you want, you don't have the job you want, you don't have to live in the house you want, you don't wear the clothes you want, you don't— you can't give your family a comfortable life, you're living paycheck to paycheck, there's only one simple explanation for that, and the answer is you've messed up. Well, somebody says, well, the country is messed up, taxes are messed up, inflation is messed up, the Democrats are messing everything up, Republicans are messing everything up, the whole country's messed up. Well, that's one attitude to have. Now, another attitude might be, my own philosophy is what's messed up. You can't blame— you can't curse your own soil, because then what else is there to blame? When some people get through with their blame list, there isn't nothing left. So you can't blame everything you've got. You've never seen anybody for the last 200 years say, oh, if we could just get to Russia, everything will be all right. If we can just get to China, my life will be put in order. No, everybody wants to come to America. Why? Because everything's available here. Everything's available in America. All the capitalism you need, all the market you need, all the money you need, all the books you need, all the teachers you need, all the seminars you need, all the courses you need. Everything's available in America. So don't tell me that you're not where you want to be because of this and that, because of the country, because of the taxes, because of inflation. No, it's on you. It's on your own personal philosophy. If I was born in a poor third world country to poor parents and I made it, you can do it, man. If you live in America, you can do it. You have no excuse. Absolutely no excuse.
