Welcome everyone to another podcast, women to women, adrenals, trauma, weight and hormones and much more. Today I have the pleasure of introducing someone I actually don't know. I've heard a lot about him and I'm very excited to introduce you to Dr. Eric Liszynski. Is that how you pronounce your name? Is that correct?
That's. See, exactly. That's why I go by Dr. Z. What's this Dr. Z, Mama Z stuff? No, it's Zelensky, but yes. Thank you so much, Marcel. It's so exciting and I can't wait. We're going to have a fun talk. I guess. We're going to talk about some fun things. Yep, Yep.
Yes, we are. So let's begin with kind of learning a little bit about you.
Yeah.
National best selling author, the Healing power of essential Oils, as well as the essential oils apothecary, which I see on your desk right now. Congratulations.
Trained as an aromatherapist, which is fantastic. Folks, it's going to be really important for you to learn a little bit more about this because we can use them in all walks of our life.
A public health researcher, chiropractor, Dr. Z started naturalliving family.com in 2014. So he was way ahead of the curve with his wife to help people learn how to use essential remedies like essential oil, safely and effectively. Great for families as well. Naturallivingfamily.com has rapidly become the number one online resource for biblical health, a non branded essential oils education visited by more than 3 million. Yes, natural health secrets every year. Congratulations on that. That's fantastic.
Yeah, thank you. And to me, that is a number that has changed. It fluctuates based off of really what's happening out there. And out there what's happening is more and more people are looking for solutions to their health problems that they're not getting from their medical doctor, that they're not getting from their natural path. They're not getting from. People are searching, I mean, and you know, blew my mind kind of off the wall, but interesting because we're, we're about to host a skin masterclass on how to look at eczema, psoriasis and skin disease. I was doing my little ninja Google search, Google trends, SEO, search engine optimization. You know that there are percent more people again, there are millions of people that search for the word cancer online, which obviously they make sense because people are looking for solutions about cancer. But you know, there are more people that search for the word eczema. That hit me because we know what people are, we know what interests people, we know what people want to learn about. And on my website, like, who would have thought that essential oils for sex is the number one search term about how to use essential oils? And that's really.
Yeah, I had no idea. Yeah.
That's why I included a libido and erectile dysfunction chapter in the book. Because I'll tell you, I'll tell you. Admittedly, very few people ask us email or chat or on Facebook about sexual dysfunction. Obviously that's a sensitive topic for people. But you know how I know and what people do is they're searching and they're letting us know they're interested through their typing and through their basically search data is the tell all for what we really do in our private time, by the way. Way. And everything's data mined. So it's like, what is this about essential oils for sex? What is this about essential oils for pain? Why are so many people coming to us over and over to look at this stuff? And ultimately there's a lot of just emotional, there's a lot of mental, physical pain anguish that people are looking to alleviate. And quite frankly there's this subtle distrust now. And now it's become political. But now there's a subtle distrust on anything you say. Hi, my name's Eric. It's sunny outside. People are fact checking it. No, they're not. I'm looking at it. No joke. It's gotten to the point where we've swung the pendulum to the other place where now people are just like, they're just craving for someone that they could trust. And I hope that my background as a public health researcher and a bestselling author and a communicator, doing a lot of different interviews, documentaries, summits, all this stuff, I hope that my wife and I have proven to people that we're here to share with you legitimate evidence based tips on how to use natural therapies like essential oils. And, and if you find us a soft place to land like we say at my house, like we got to be a soft place to land. Right. Especially talk about, you know, sex in the bedroom. You got to be a soft place to land. Right? Ladies, men, right. That's something where I am hoping more and more people find in your work. My work, because we are really here to help people because we know what it's like to be sick. We also know what it's like to recover and that's why we do what we do.
So what motivated you to get into essential oils? I Mean, I love the concept really, because I see lots of people from around the world actually. Yeah, so many health problems and they're wanting to be better and they don't know the answers. So fill me in. Why essential oils and how did you get started?
I'll tell you, it was not on my vision board, it was not on my 10 year plan. It was quite frankly, one of those things that just happened and I heard the call and I answered it. I don't know what else to say other than opportunities come, doors open and sometimes you walk through them and you take them, other times you don't. And the long and the short of it is I was a public health researcher at the time and one of my clients commissioned me to write a series of public health reports about the therapeutic efficacy of essential oils. And this isn't like smelly dovey, lovey stuff like, I mean, we're talking hypertension, we're talking diabetes, we're talking cancer, autoimmunity, chronic root inflammation. And that was my job, to read hundreds of trials. And all the dots started to connect. And at that point, though my wife has been using essential oils for at that point, roughly 20 some years. So she was well versed. She's been trained in essential oils and aromatherapy. She has her own skin healing story where she literally burned the first two and a half, three layers of her skin from below her nose to her neck because there was a hard water chemical interaction with the facial cleanser she was using in Minnesota when she was visiting her family. By the way, hard water is horrible for people with eczema and it very much indicated for skin disease. And so I know that now. But anyway, my wife has always used essential oils but I kind of marginalized them as smelly stuff, right? And I was like, well, I'm not going to like walk around smelling like Ylang Lang all the time. But admittedly though, I didn't have a medicine cabinet. I mean, I had my natural health conversion through nutrition, prayer, meditation. I had a radical transformation when I became a Christian and my whole life changed. But I didn't have a remedy for a boo boo, a histamine reaction, a nausea, a gas, an acne, whatever, athlete's foot, whatever that that condition was, I literally had a medicine cabinet that was empty. And so when things came, like a backache, a headache, the rare headache I would ever have, I would grin and bear it, not wanting to take medicine, just very distrustful. I was, and still am to a large degree of the side effects related to medicine that I didn't want to take unless I needed it. And so I just suffered. I seriously suffered through a lot of little things over the course of like 10 years. And then essential oils came in my life. I'm like, oh, like this is what I've been praying for. Like, this is literally my medicine cabinet. And that opened up everything. And here we are. It's been roughly seven and a half, eight years to when I really started researching and professionally getting involved. And it wasn't until my buddy Dr. Josh Axe and Jill Winger from the Prairie Homestead and I collaborated to host the first non branded essential oil summit in 2015. That was when everything took off. That was really the supply and demand because I had no idea that all if not vast majority of the information online at the time related to essential oils was financially biased. Meaning everything that I read, I'm talking hundreds of blogs and bloggers had an association with a multi level marketing company or they were an aromatherapist that sold their private label or whatever, or they simply just linked out to their favorite brand on Amazon. Well, bless your heart, I love commerce, I love capitalism. Good for you. But as a researcher, we need unbiased resources. Like that's Research 101. Public Health Research 101. And so that's where the idea came to host this non branded event where everyone leaves their favorite brands aside and we just talk oils, we talk chemistry, we talk health, and then we bring in some names that no one's ever heard of. And from that event, Marcel, there were seven. I'm sorry, 45. I'll never forget. I read them all. 4,500 comments from that one summit. 165,000 people were in attendance. I read every, every comment. And one thing that kept on coming up was people were like, because I was the interviewer, you know, I wasn't the expert, I didn't go to aromatherapy school yet I was the interviewer. And one thing that they said was, you know, we trust you. We like the fact that you're not biased, you're not financially labeled or tied to a brand. We want teach us more. Like you have research on oils, you have books. Basically people asked me to write a book, I'm like, wow, this is cool. Let's see. That's what took me to write my first book, instant international bestseller. Like, whoa. And lo and behold, here we are today in this newest installment, the Essential oils Apothecary is really the culmination of everything that I've learned, not only since I've been involved in the aromatherapy industry the last seven, eight years. But really since I had my health transformation in 2003. And so what I'm trying to do with this new piece is to tackle chronic conditions at the root cause and give people the palliative, the. The band aid, so to speak, to help them through the symptoms so they can get through the day by day. And that way they feel better, to hopefully do the things that they need to do to really get well. So this next book's a little ambitious because we're talking about everything from we mentioned erectile dysfunction, libido to Parkinson's and epilepsy and copd. And we're covering the primary causes of death in America and also around the world, which are chronic conditions, heart disease, stroke, these things are preventable. Obesity, diabetes. There are things that you could do, and I believe that essential oils can play a part of it with this truly holistic lifestyle.
So what I love about what you're saying is that using that I practice functional medicine. And, you know, so I'm always going to be talking about what's going on with the gut, what's going on with the hormones, what's going on with your emotions, what about the trauma in your life. But what an amazing adjunct then to have this be a foundation for everybody's cabinet instead of lots of medications, we use this instead. I mean, it sounds wonderful. So let's go kind of the pieces that we're talking about, essential oils in the bedroom. I really, as of this moment today, did not know that there was something that we could talk about. So let's talk about it.
I mean, just think about ancient literature. You can go to the Bhagavad Gita, you can go to the Bible. You could go through just antiquity. And you see over and over again the writers of these great books and prose. Homer, right? The. The Greek odyssey, using very descriptive sexual language in the context of strong aroma. And ever since the beginning of time, we have known that certain aromas produce an aphrodisiac, libido, boosting and enhancing effect on men and women. And Rose oftentimes comes up, and that's, I don't want to say cliche, but Rose is exceptionally healing. I mean, on multiple levels. Rose oil has been shown clinically to help children with autism. There was actually a Netflix documentary about that tracking neuroma therapist and her work with helping children with significant learning disabilities and autism. And Rose has a wonderful anxiolytics, anti anxiety effects, stress relieving. But it's. It's the oil for sex. It's the oil to help boost that, that mood. And there are a number of other ones, though. And so when you start really typing and going through the research tomes and the search terms, you see there are dozens of different aromas. And how you use essential oils in the bedroom really depends on your comfort level of aromatherapy and also what you want to do. Like, for example, I'm actually pulling, I pulled up my book. This is page 141 of my book. I want pull this up because I want you all to hear, like an actual recipe that's, that's, that's supported from the literature. You know, one concern that a lot of women have specifically is low estrogen and vaginal dryness. Now, what causes dysfunction in the bedroom? Now, this is a conversation that will take weeks to uncover. Class after class, talk after talk, interview after interview, right? Not barring the emotional, like you mentioned, psychotrauma, traumatic aspects of it. What about the physical aspects of my body's just changing. That's what I want to touch on just for a moment here, like a woman going through menopause. My body now just changed. And painful sex is directly related to vaginal dryness. Right? Any woman understands that, right? Who has experienced that? Well, one thing you could do is use essential oils to help balance your estrogen levels, to naturally produce those secretants, to help you give, to give you that natural lubricant. But as women age, it's just a good idea always to use a natural lubricant. What can you use? You can use KY jelly, petroleum jelly, what your favorite flavor is. But you know what? Simple coconut oil is a great lubricant. And when you add essential oils to it, it's highly safe and effective. And the nice thing is when you're using essential oils, even as a lubricant, again, we're talking highly diluted, just a couple drops with a large amount of carrier oil. I'll give you the recipe in just a second. These oils are antifungal, antiviral, antibacterial. They help prevent infection. So women have a tendency for UTIs or even yeast infection. Guys too. It could help with that. It could help also with just that hormone balanc effect that essential oils have been shown to really bring women to that place. And men, where testosterone levels, estrogen levels, other hormones just balance out. And so using that is safe. It's safe for a variety of different mechanisms. And this is a recipe that we recommend people to start with is go with 2 ounces of your favorite coconut oil. You can also use a good quality sesame seed oil or also olive oil. I like coconut oil because of its viscosity, Especially when it gets colder, it gets thicker, so you have more of a viscosity to it. But it's extremely, extremely potent as an antifungal in the fatty oil world, right?
So when you're using coconut oil, that's my oil of choice. And a lot of people enjoy the flavor, the aroma. Think between the lines here, like we're having sex, right? So think about whatever it is, your definition of sex and how you want to enjoy sex. Coconut oil is a good all around multipurpose. So with 2 ounces of coconut oil, you can add 3 drops of geranium. Again, this is straight from my book. Three drops of lavender, three drops of Roman chamomile and three drops of ylang ylang. One thing they mentioned about Ylang ylang is, you know, these oils are oils, the geranium, the lavender and the Roman chamomile. I didn't mention rose. If you met. When I'm. These oils are very calming, they're very soothing. But what they do is they help stimulate the parasympathetic response. I mean, we're talking shut off the light or flip the switch and the light goes out. Like these oils have that direct effect, putting people into a sympathetic or parasympathetic state. And ultimately, one of the big issues in the bedroom is people are too wired emotionally and mentally. And we see this with men, specifically with erectile dysfunction. This is a lubricant, right? It works both ways. And this is very beneficial for men because it helps them calm down. This blend is also, is a great for foot rubs, neck rubs, enjoy your lover. And a lot of men battling erectile dysfunction because they're stuck. They're stuck in that sympathetic fight or flight. And going back to neuroendocrinology, going back to physiology and anatomy class, we were taught that the parasympathetic system is the system that stimulates the erection, that you have to be in the parasympathetic state. They have the erection and that brief moment when a man ejaculates, that's the sympathetic state. So pns, right? Point and shoot. Just think of it. It's kind of a fun little thing. That's how we passed our test. Great teachers always giving us little acronyms. But if you want to point, right, if you want to have an erection, you can't be chronically stressed. You can't be in that fight or flight. You can't go from having a horrible experience at work to having road rage, to getting at home, yelling at your spous house, to just expecting to crack open a beer and get an erection and have sex and have enjoyable love life. Like, why do we think so many men struggle with this? Well, if it's a psychogenic, there are psychogenic aspects to this. Men statistically are much more less likely, much less likely to get help for emotional disorders, for stress, for anxiety, to get the help that they need. Maybe this will help you do that. So anyway, this is multipurpose. It's very soothing, very comforting. Ylang ylang is interesting. This will help especially with women and men too, who deal with erectile dysfunction. But Ylang ylang has not been shown to help with sex drive, so to speak. What Ylang ylang has been shown to do is reduce the stress related to having sex. Again, why would someone be stressful about having sex? Well, you name it. I mean, maybe you're having your struggles, performance struggles, or maybe you have vaginal dryness and it hurts, or maybe there's conflict between you and your lover, or maybe fill in the blank. There are a million reasons why someone would be hesitant. Ylang Ylang is an extremely potent anxiolytic oil. And because of the chemical properties in the essential oil, it could help reduce anxiety and panic. All these things. What am I talking about? Stress and anxiety and panic? We're having a sex class. Shouldn't I just have a shot of whiskey and tequila and lose my inhibitions? No, that's not how you. That's not sustainable, that's not healthy, and that's not truly giving your body what your body needs. So this again, very practical. But this is a two for one benefit for men and women, psychogenically, emotionally, mentally to help. And we just barely touched the tip of the iceberg here just on the lubricant.
Now what about rose rose oil? You mentioned that earlier on. It's phenomenal effect physiologically. Where did that come into this equation?
Yeah, I mean, we have a number of different sensual blends between the sheet sprays. Rose again is a known aphrodisiac and it's been shown with men, especially even a study back in 2015 to help with sexual dysfunction with men. This is interesting with men on antidepressant medication. Now, antidepressants have a direct effect on libido and we see that with men over and over again. Rose oil has been shown to help you kind of break through that. And so what we do Is we have a blend that helps people just really spice up. And this is something where you put in your diffuser, you can, like, see behind me again. I called it my batista. Between the sheet spray, there's roll ons, there's several different ways. Body oils, massage oils, depending on how you want to use this. But rose oil, there's. You can add a variety of different oils that go with it. Jasmine is another oil that works really well with rose. Neroli is something that's sensual. Let me go through the blend. Actually, let me find it. There's like 15 different oils in this special blend. Whenever you go.
For some people, I'll tell you, some people, the bottom line is they're just beginning in this space. And they have a starter kit, right? They got three oils, and they're like, when I give a list of 15 oils to make a certain recipe during the headlights, sometimes I don't want you to experience that. So what you could do, nine times out of 10, is go to your favorite essential oil supplier and they will have their love blend. I mean, they'll call it a million things, but it's usually love. You know, something sensual. Just look up and you'll find one that's specifically made for this. And you'll find oils like bergamot neroli and sandalwood, and jasmine patchouli. When you mix them together, they produce this cornucopia effect that helps. So, yeah, we have our version of it. And it's something that I personally put together, inspired, based off of all the different research about essential oils in the bedroom. And then I blended them together. And I'll just tell you, admittedly, I'm not someone that creates blends. I'm someone that my job is to go through. My specialty is to comb through the research and report what the scientists are finding. And that's it. Like my book, I have 150 recipes in it. Everything from how to help chemo patients with stress, anxiety, and pain related to chemo or radiation burns, to panic attacks or libido. It's what the researchers are finding. And every once in a while, I get inspired to like, okay, let's try this. And I got a couple blends up my sleeve, but that's definitely a skill that I admire with the perfumers and the aromatherapists who are trained to do that.
So, Eric, what I love about what you're talking about, though, is that we're doing the blend of both worlds, which is we know that science has some information, and we can kind of look at what the data is telling us, but also blending it into more of the natural world and also, you know, adding to that good nutrition, you know, good lifestyle, exercise, walking, kind of all the things about the blue zones around the world that we know that really are beneficial for our health. What is it that kind of inspired you to go in all the areas? Because I think people need to hear this. This is not just for sex in the bedroom. It's not just for chronic problems. It's for everything. It's for skin. It's for many different things that we in functional medicine have been doing for a while now. Essential oils are kind of available to people everywhere.
Well, the thing about chronic disease, and that's really where this all starts. It's something that you just don't wake up with now. You might wake up and feel the lump. You might wake up and go to the doctor for the test and they find something. But by definition, a chronic condition is chronic. I mean, I don't want to sound stupid, like I'm being cheeky, but it's not acute. It's not like you just got infected with tuberculosis. You have been developing something in your body for years. And by definition, again, all the world health organizations and all the different government institutions, they have their own version and list of what constitutes chronic disease. America, interestingly, is very myopic in that only has like six or seven conditions that are actually considered chronic conditions. Where Canada has like 15, 20, Australia has more so. So is depression a chronic disease? Well, not according to the cdc, but according to Canada it is. So you choose. Right. So all them, though, the reason I'm mentioning this is by definition, a chronic condition is something that lasts six to 12 months. So it's long standing, it's not going away, and it takes years to develop. And this is the key, typically, and some organizations actually state this in writing, starts in childhood again, cancer starts when you're born. It doesn't start. Maybe again, if there's a Chernobyl attack or some sort of accident, a spill or radiation exposure, well, that's different. But ultimately what we're dealing with is this onslaught. We're dealing with pandemics. Heart disease is a pandemic. Cancer is a pandemic. Like global. This is not just an American issue anymore like it used to be, because our way of life in America has gone global. People are eating. The standard American diet is now the standard Earth diet. You got to change that. It's not sad anymore. It's. It's said standard Earth diet right so the SED needs to change. And so the reality is.
Why is it important to look at everything that we do is that we are multifaceted in every way. So you can have just a rock star, killer, supermodel body, as some people say that, but inside you're like hurting and you're depressed. Why do you think so many athletes and so many celebrities take their lives by suicide? Why do you think so many of them are addicted to narcotics and they suffer through substance abuse? Some of them are just rotting inside. They're emotionally distraught. Or other people, they could be super wealthy, have the best job or business in the world, but their marriage is on the rocks. And that causes them to have significant mental or health emotions or maybe prevents them from exercising or. You see where I'm going here? It's like, how do we focus on it all? And for me, there's seven areas of life that we got to focus on. And it starts with our walk with God, and it starts with our spiritual relationship and who we are as spiritual beings. And there's this mental health aspect, emotional physical health, how we manage our money and the fact that we have money to pay our bills and live. And then the social component to it and our work would have to have meaning. And so in the context of this discussion, if you take that holistic. Yeah. Wow. I am a spiritual being. I am. I have. A big part of my life is work. A big part of my life is family. A big part of my life is this. Well, look at my body now. A huge part of it is when I'm breathing. A huge part of it is when I'm drinking. Significant part of what I'm eating, what am I putting on my skin, what am I allowing to really control my mind? What am I allowing to dictate my behavior? Because no essential oil, no drug, no supplement, no nothing is, can reverse and stop the damage that you might be doing by doing something harmful.
You're going to waste your breath telling an asthmatic to get healed and eat well and use essential oils if they're smoking a pack of cigarettes. Still, I mean, it sounds crazy, but a friend of ours, family member, just got lung cancer. Pack a day smoker for 40 years. That's what happens. Oftentimes if you eat the said standard earth diet, you're gonna get overweight. I mean, it's guaranteed you will deal with some sort of prediabetes or blood sugar or diabetes. You will deal with maybe pre or straight up obesity. This will lead to potentially cancer, autoimmune Conditions, dementia. And so when you're looking at your body holistically, you start to see, oh, wow, I am made to function a certain way. And then I hope the light bulb hits, would hit me. This is what made me change 19 years ago, is that I saw all of it together. And so now it's not like I don't go on my water, healthy water kick and leave it. I don't go on my healthy essential oil kick and then leave it. I don't go on my healthy food regimen and leave it. I add things and then I feel better. And literally, literally everything plays into one another. And I'm always looking at other ways to up my game because especially as I get older and I'm only 41. But you know, midlife, maybe to some, as I get older, I start to recognize how important my health is in my body. And I really, really have more control over this thing than I thought in a previous time with a different, maybe immature, not as wise mindset as maybe I have now, knowing that I do have more of an effect of how I feel physically, emotionally, mentally. And I'm not a victim of my circumstances. I'm not a victim of my insurance policy. I'm not a victim of my government says or what my wife says or what my doctor says. It's me. And so now, wow. Okay, that's a cool, interesting thought. What does that mean? I deal with pain, I deal with sleep. Well, how about we try a couple things first? Right? You mentioned the blue zones. How about we try adopting more of a plant based diet? Because that's what all the blue zones do. Just see, see what life is like going vegetarian for a week. I'm not a vegan. I'm not preaching that. But try it. See if you feel better. Try maybe using a little bit of lavender in your diffuser before you go to bed. That might help you sleep. Try not staring at it a screen for like five minutes. Right? Try putting away, and I hate to say this because we're on Facebook, try shutting off. Did you know there was a study a few years ago that evaluated court proceedings? And like I Forget the number. 75 or 80% of all court. Divorce. Court proceedings had the word divorce in it. I'm sorry, I had the word on Facebook in it. 75 to 80% of all divorces. In that conversation, the word Facebook came up. I'm not saying it caused it, but that's how, just how much Facebook has infiltrated our way of life. That someone is in the middle of getting A divorce and the word Facebook comes up. I'll bet you the word apple or broccoli didn't come up in their divorce proceedings. You know what I'm talking about. Give yourself a social media break. I talk about emotional detoxification. I call out forgiveness therapy. Women and men who are battling with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, they've done extensive research on forgiveness therapy, and they have found that those things. Chronic fatigue and fibro. Right. Chronic pain all over your body. Forgive. Next thing you know, this huge burden. Let's go. Well, I thought we're supposed to talk about essential oils. Well, maybe some essential oils can help you. What if I could show you some essential oils? I'll drop some here that are rich in limonene. Let's go to orange, grapefruit, lemon. I've already mentioned neroli and bergamot in the context of sex because I was anxiety. But what if I could show you how to use some of these oils? What about this one study that just blew my mind? I mean, I love. This is one thing. I love writing these books because I like. Wow, this is a cool study. There was one study that evaluated two groups of people that had a hopeless, helpless task assigned to them. All right? Now, it's very interesting and almost prophetic that this happened, like, three years ago. And their task was to solve, essentially, racism, social discrimination. So imagine you're in a group of people. You just volunteered for your $50 blimpy or subway card. Bless your heart. If you're a research subject, by the way, these people volunteering their life to be with 15, 20 other people in this sterile clinical environment, and they're given a task. Solve racism right now. You got an hour. How am I going to do that? I mean, seriously. Impossible, right? The point was to create hopelessness in them. Helplessness. One group had nothing but a piece of paper and pencil. The other group, piece of paper and pencil, but a diffuser emitting orange and vanilla oil. Well, what's that? That's a dreamsicle, A creamsicle, An Orange Julius. Everyone loves that smell. Maybe not you. Most people do. I mean, statistically speaking, it's an aroma that a lot of people find enjoyable after evaluating their experience. The people that have the aromatherapy therapy weren't as helpless. They weren't as hopeless. They didn't hate the experience as much. Yeah, it sucked. They couldn't solve the problem, but it was okay. They dealt with it. The other people were just miserable. I mean, it was horrible. It was. You know, so if I Could again, context of forgiveness therapy. Let's go back to what I was saying. If I could show you. Hey, simply, this is the recipe. Just put three drops of orange, three drops of vanilla absolute, or vanilla oil resin in your diffuser and walk through some forgiveness therapy. Neurologically, your brain will start to emit some neurotransmitters that will produce happiness that will help you not be so stressed. And maybe you might be at that place where you can allow yourself to be vulnerable, to literally let go and forgive. Like, that's the power of smell, that's the power of olfaction that directly impacts your brain, which is known as the limbic system. Your mood, your memory, your emotions, your autonomic function, your heart rate, your breathing rate, all this stuff is connected by your brain or by your sense of smell. So if we could tap into that, why not? And so when you take it to another level, now you're looking at body care. Now you're looking at reducing the toxins that are on our skin. And then you're looking at, okay, what can I ingest? Is there something I could do? It's wonderfully overwhelming at first, and that's why I'm hoping someone picks up the book to kind of get that step by step, step. Because I don't want you to be overwhelmed. You know, I burned myself with oils. I hurt myself. I messed up. I've learned through my mistakes. I went through aromatherapy school. I get it. I understand. So if we could walk you through and fast track so that maybe now I could help you maybe reduce or get off your blood pressure meds under the guidance of your medical professional, of course, to help balance your hypertension. Well, good. Let me do that with you. Right. The sky's the limit.
So what I love about what you're saying, quite honestly, Eric, is this. And that is something that I talk about in my practice all the time. So it has to be the composite of everything. The spiritual life that we have, the food that we eat, the thoughts that we think, the toxic people that we might be around, the planting, your feet on the earth, being really sure that you have a connection with nature, that you are aware of the foods, the substances you put on your skin, if you need detoxification, but then adding essential oils to really help with that. And I love the notion of forgiveness. A lot of people have a lot of grievances, and they really always talk about tomorrow with respect to yesterday in their back pocket, which never allows you to really walk freely. So I love this combination of what you're talking about. It's really putting everything together. So if people want more from you, how do they get more from you? And how do they get your book?
Oh, it's available everywhere. Books are sold. Just look up essential oils. Apothecary and we actually created a cool little thank you gift for people that are pre ordering. The book comes out September 7th and my wife and I filmed 17 videos on how to make a lot of the recipes, including our sensual blend hypertension bone and joint cream. There's several that we did. You can go to eopothecary.com again that's eoapothecary.com and we have dozens of recipe cards and things really just to help you get the most out of the book.
Fabulous. Thank you so much. I think people are really going to get a lot of benefit out of this and it's really the composite of everything many speakers have talked about. But adding the essential oils, which is great.
Yeah, thanks for having me. It was awesome.
Absolutely. Thanks so much.
