Yesterday I led a training for over 500 different freelancers talking about the best ways that they can begin to monetize AI. And if you're in that position where you maybe you are a freelancer or you're a marketer, you have some of those skills or you want to get into freelancing is kind of like a side income and you're looking around and you say, hey, obviously there's money to be made in AI, but I don't know the exact best path to follow. What I want to do in this video is keep things super, super short, super, super direct, get a little bit tactical. But more importantly, I want to give you some of the principles and mental models that I believe will assist you and most importantly give you clarity about how to think about your current position and where it is that you want to go. That's the purpose of this video. Just like I gave them on that training, now, the first mental model I want to give you is now versus then thinking. One thing that I become really, really comfortable and it took me a while to get here, but one thing I've become really comfortable saying is I don't know, right? And I lead a community with know 300+ different marketers and many, many people follow me and they, you know, they want to know what are my thoughts about a subject or, you know, what is my recommendation when it comes to marketing and copy and their careers. They want advice. And I've been hesitant to give advice because when I look around trying to be authentic and honest, there's a lot of uncertainty. And what I've become accustomed to saying is, yes, we live in an unprecedented age of uncertainty. I don't think anyone really knows what the next 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 years looks like. I think AI is a big radical technology that's going to change a lot of things. I don't know if it's going to be doom and gloom. I don't know if it's going to be utopia and rainbows and fairies. I don't really know. And I really feel a lot of conviction that anyone who says that they know with conviction is speaking from a place of ego. I don't know where they're speaking from or why they're speaking that if they got something to sell you or their ego requires them to be certain or be right. But at the end of the day, not to get distracted, I just think that knowing what exactly the future is going to look like is not clear. Okay? And I don't want to give recommendations or give Advice on something where I feel like there's uncertainty, but that's the then that's looking in the future. And even if there is uncertainty and we can learn to be comfortable with that, there is the now, right now. And what I do know is that there are many, many people, because they're in my community or in my expanded circle, who are using AI to make money and making decent amounts of money for them. I'm not promising that you're going to be able to do that. Disclaimer, disclaimer, disclaimer. Insert compliant language here. But I am saying I see the testimonials and I see the emails and the results that people are getting. People who are able to cut their, you know, triple the amount of work they're able to do, which sounds like a lot, but it actually takes them less effort to do it, and they're just able to triple their income to manage five to six clients at once, to sell AI services to businesses, to make, you know, $100,000 in a single day from webinars that are written by AI all the way to, you know, $27,000 a month writing articles written by AI or selling the bots or billing agents. There's a lot of different paths. But my point is, I hear from a lot of people who are making money right now. So even though the then is uncertain, what is certain is right now there are many opportunities to monetize AI, and I want to talk about a lot of those. Most importantly, I want to give you clarity because I know that, you know, every time you hop on YouTube, you're looking at a bunch of videos. I built an AI agent that, you know, does this. I built an AI agent that does whatever, okay? So every time you hop on, you see all of this, like, crazy shit that people are doing. You're scrolling on YouTube. There's all kinds of ads of people doing it. Long story short, there is a lot of overwhelm. Okay? So I want to give a little bit of clarity with the mental models and the thinking and the tools that I'm going to give you. Okay? So the first one is now versus then thinking. The second thing we want to talk about, I'm going to pull up on this screen here is. Let's just look super, super high level. Okay? This is from an email that I wrote earlier. If you're not on my email list, by the way, sign up below. I send all of my thoughts very, very unfiltered. And I try to give as much value as I can to you. So if you're interested, just sign up. Okay, so here's what I said on that big training, same training I'm talking to you about. I gave a high. This is a high level, 30 foot view. I don't even know if that makes sense, but that's what I decided to write. And this is specifically for freelancers. Okay. If you're a business owner watching this, there is a different path that I would recommend for you. But this is for the freelancers. There are two big opportunities for making money with AI. Help businesses get more customers using AI and help businesses use AI. The big thing that I've learned, you know, in my little career so far is that, you know, people wonder a lot about luck versus skill, I believe. So people wonder like, you know, is success a mixture of luck? Is it just hard work? And I think it's a little bit of both. I think that you can be intelligent and work your way to success, and I think you can outwork a lot of people. I genuinely, genuinely believe that. I do believe in serendipity and a little bit of destiny as well. But one thing is, I do believe in luck. Insofar as people get lucky when they choose the right vehicle and then they work really, really hard in it. I don't think you get anywhere by sheer luck alone or blind luck. There are instances, of course, but I think most people who are successful are lucky in terms of the vehicle that they're focused on. Okay. And then they work really, really hard. I'll just give an example. This is what I was thinking about today. Logan Paul is an example. Okay. Logan Paul has made a lot of money as a young man in a short amount of time. I believe Logan Paul, you know, whether you love him or hate him, is a very, very talented individual and obviously very, very hardworking. And maybe you hear talented, you're like, what does that even mean? But to be center stage and to be able to do any of the things he's done requires a level of talent and definitely hard work. I don't think what he did came by accident, but he was lucky in his vehicle. Being YouTube right at the moment when YouTube started as Vine. Right, Vine, YouTube, all of these different trends. He really surfed those trends. And do I think that he sat there and did a cost analysis and weighed all the pros and cons of what to focus on? Like, do I focus on this or that or you do whatever? No, I think he just kind of followed his impulse, was in the right place at the right time, was talented Worked really hard at it and became had the success that he had. Okay? Now, I'm not saying that success looks like what Logan Paul is. You can insert success by whatever metric or whatever you think that is. But there was an element of luck in the idea that he chose the right vehicle, which means there was timing, right? He chose a hot market. He chose something where there was a lot of energy, okay? Like a lot of psychological, spiritual, whatever, whatever vision works for you. There was a lot of energy already in the thing that he was looking at. And so I believe that you can reverse engineer luck to a degree. I don't think you can always control it, but I think you can be more lucky by being in the place where there is motion and movement. Okay? Now the reason I'm saying all this is because there's obviously motion and movement around AI, okay? Even business people who are not technical and don't understand AI. I know because I listen, right? If I go out to a bar or a restaurant, I'm always paying attention. I'm listening to things and I hear all the time. So many conversations nowadays people have casually are about AI, business people, lay people, bartenders. Like everyone is thinking about AI. It's on a lot of people's minds because it is a new, big, potentially scary technology. AI is what I would say. It's the meta. It's kind of the big overall narrative. And so when you can position yourself to sort of ride that wave, be in the midst of the motion and the activity, I believe that that's a smart thing to do. So that's why I say the two big opportunities for making money with AI is to help businesses get more customers and then help those businesses use AI. So. Cause whether they understand it or not, most of them are convinced, yeah, I probably need to do it, right? They don't even know what that means. It's. They're just like, yeah, like I'll throw money at it. Like, solve this problem for me. Okay? The second thing too, and this is not written on here, is that it's not entirely true, but I like to operate by the principle that there are no experts in AI. And what I mean by that is LLMs. Although there are many machine learning experts and AI experts from a long time ago, when it comes to LLMs specifically, there are a lot of emergent behaviors that people are figuring out, right? So the LLMs and the models are growing so much that they're kind of a black box. Even people who are creating them don't understand them. And there are Many emergent properties that people are discovering and figuring out. Right. And ChatGPT was only, you know, a few years ago. So many people are figuring these things out, which means there are no so called experts. And everything that you need to know about AI or about these LLMs, one, you can just ask the AI for help on it. Two, you have YouTube and you can search these things up. And three, if you have a little bit of critical thinking and common sense and self belief, you can position yourself as an expert and obviously work hard to develop that expertise. But don't get sidelined by like I'm not technical or I'm not an expert. Right. Because I don't believe in the formal, formal sense that there are experts. Okay. Obviously there's a nuance to what I'm saying. So let's go on. If we agree the two big opportunities for making money with AI are to help businesses get customers and help businesses use AI, then there's two paths to do this. The first one is to take advantage of what I'm going to call an arbitrage window. This is a window of time when you can sell services and at the old human rate and use AI to fulfill them. Okay. Markets will correct themselves over time. Which means, you know, in the past, and I say the past before AI, before LLMs, you know, hit what they're, you know, in the past, and I say the past before AI, before LLMs, you know, hit what they're at right now. You know, people would charge or pay 3,5 all the way up to 10k but around 5k ish to write emails for them, maybe daily emails. Right. And that's actually good value for someone who has an email list and they have a good offer and they can pay someone $5,000 to just consistently bring in customers they don't have to pay for. It's actually a pretty good deal. The thing is, now you can write an email. With the right models, you can write a month's worth of emails literally in minutes. Okay. We have many AI tools inside of our community that you hit the button. I showed it live on the training. It will write all the emails for you. Okay, yes, you can edit them and you can kind of clean them up and stuff like that. But honestly, literally, I put a link in and I said, write me a month's worth of emails. And it did it. And they're better emails than what most businesses will have. Okay, so the fact that that's so easy, do I think that that's still worth $5,000 a month. I think over time the market's going to correct that for sure. And in fact, I thought it would have corrected a long time ago. But I still know that there are many, many people in our community who are charging retainers around $5,000 a month for writing services. And they're using AI to fulfill it. And they can literally do it in minutes. Okay? And the smart ones are not just being lazy about it, they're using AI to not only increase their quantity, but also the quality, quality. So they're providing more value to the businesses outside of the writing. They're doing strategy, they're providing resource documents. They're spending more time thinking like deeply versus writing to really get the highest quality, which is what I think is the smart thing to do. But that's an arbitrage opportunity. Okay? There's an information disparity on the business owner side. They don't know how to do it or that it's possible. And so you can go and you can charge your service still using kind of the old human rates. You can fulfill it with AI. You can do way more work. Boom. Now that's a window of time because I do believe the market will ultimately correct itself. But for right now, it's very, very powerful. You can write ads for people, you can write emails for people. Anything that's going to help a business get more customers. Okay? And obviously inside our program Genesis, we have like 4050 plus tools, new tools coming out all the time. Like, we have a lot of resources. You can write any kind of copy marketing, whatever. The second thing, of course, is to install AI into businesses. Okay, Install AI into businesses. What does this look like practically? Really, it looks like creating prompts or what we call custom bots. So these are basically custom trained little chat interfaces that can perform little subtasks. I found that these are remarkably powerful. You can build them inside of po.com that's what we do. Or you can build a custom GPT. I like to build them in PO or in Claude, because I think Claude is much better at writing. You can build those for business, for specific tasks, right? To answer certain kinds of emails or to do whatever to make their workflow better. And you can sell those bots for. And there's a lot of things that you could automate using those bots. Okay. It also looks like AI agent workflows and things like that. Now, in order to do this here, I believe that you need four skills. And I think if you're missing any one of these four skills, it's going to make it a lot harder to go and actually monetize AI. So what are these skills? First is copy and marketing. This is basically just like business mechanics, but if we're talking about helping businesses get more customers, it's important to know copy and marketing. Okay, marketing is the probably the big meta skill, but it's like, what is marketing? It has many, many, many things beneath it. I do think, and I'm biased because I was a copywriter originally, I still am a copywriter, but I do think copy is like one of the core components, the DNA of marketing. I really do believe that. And so mastering basic copywriting will help you to be a better marketer overall. And if you know copy, you can do a lot. You can help people get views on Organic, right, YouTube or Instagram. You can write emails for people. You can write ads for people, can do webinars for people. You can help people get more customers by communicating. If you understand copy on the deepest, deepest, most advanced level, you know, the world is your oyster. Basically the next thing to know is to build bots and prompt. You know, underneath the hood of a bot there's different things. You can give data and things to it, but at the end of the day it's a prompt. And the quality of your prompt is really important. There's many people who say prompt engineering is dead. And I both agree and disagree with them. I agree with them in the sense that prompt engineering as this, you know, sort of like awe inspiring, amazing skill. I think that's overhyped because at the end of the day, what prompt engineering really is, I think his name is Toby or Tobias. This founder CEO of Shopify, he calls it context engineering versus prompt engineering. And I like his take on it because he basically said all it is is providing enough information, data, context to the LLM to be able to perform a task. Okay, so that's it. You're giving the right data, the right context and the right instruction. So if you know clear communication and how to provide context, that's what prompt engineering is. Believe it or not though, there is still a learning curve, a skill gap, right? Like AI can now write its own prompts. But there is a lot of thinking that goes into what is the actual information and the actual instructions to make this go right. Right? So some of the prompts that we write are 50 pages, all the way up to 100 pages long. Not for our own health or because we want them to be that long, but because that's what we found. Helps to ensure you get the best outputs okay. And there's many people in our community who would vouch and say the same thing, okay? So it's a very important skill. The other one is AI agents. So AI agents is of course are the workflows and the intelligent reasoning. This is the architecture of the entire process. So if you understand the bots and prompts, prompt engineering or context engineering, you know how to orchestrate those together, you understand business and how to actually get customers insanely powerful. And of course, the last thing you need to know is you need to know how to get clients. Okay? Because if you know all this and you don't know how to sell your own services or get clients, none of that matters. You're not able to monetize or capture any value. Okay? I believe these are the four most important skills that you can master to monetize and AI, if you leave any of these out, I believe you're severely lacking. Okay? But when you stack all of these together, a super, super powerful suite, that's actually all I want to share on this video. I know it's a very, very simple framework, but hopefully you see and understand a little bit better what skills you should be focused on doing. And if you're interested in learning those skills down below, like at least for copy and marketing, there's a product that you can purchase. It's 27 bucks. It's a crash course in copy, but it's good for beginners or advanced people. You can join my email list, you can also join the free AI newsletter that we write every single. I think it's three times a week. A lot of resources there below. And you can also send me an email once you hop on my list about the program Genesis. So what is Genesis? High level Genesis is a program that's going to teach you these four skills. And the reason I've structured Genesis that way is because I really have conviction that these four skills are the most important to understand. So we'll teach you copy and marketing at the highest level possible and give you every AI resource that you need to do. It will show you how to create bots and prompts as well as give you access to 50 plus pre built prompts that we've been building over the last few years. Really, really solid. They made people quite a bit of money. We'll also show you how to build AI agents twice a week. We have calls, we have templates, and we're focused on building agents that have real copy marketing business use cases. And the last thing of course is we'll show you how to get clients. We have an entire workshop that's coming up, coaching calls, many things like that that will show you 21 different ways to get clients. So if you're interested in that, you can just sign up to my email list and and hit me up and send me some emails on that. So hopefully that's helpful. That's all I got. Peace Clients we have an entire workshop that's coming up, coaching calls, many things like that that will show you 21 different ways to get clients. So if you're interested in that, you can just sign up to my email list and hit me up and send me some emails on that. So hopefully that's helpful. That's all I got. Peace.
