why pain points are dead in 2026 (use insight-first ads instead)

YouTube ad-breakdown by Mario Castelli analyzing a dating ad (Wing Girl/Wing Woman) to demonstrate why ‘‘pain-point-first’’ creative is losing effectiveness and why insight-first ads perform better. The speaker walks through the ad script, highlights copy techniques (pattern interrupt, externalization, identity constraints, proof, scarcity, calls-to-action), introduces the idea of "insight" versus standard pain/promise framing, shows metrics (copy-velocity, CTAs) and reveals a reusable template that thrives when two groups consistently misunderstand each other. The video promises a swipe file/Miro board and additional templates/resources.

All right, so I am going to break down another ad today. I want to say thank you to everyone who subscribed. Got a bunch of new people who just hopped on and I'm going to be doing these ad breakdown. I've done two so far and I would love for you guys to know before I break this down, you can pop it in the comments. Just let me know if these are interesting and useful. I know that some people in my community requested more ad breakdowns because there were not a ton that are out there. And historically those videos that I do don't get a ton of views. I don't frankly care about that as much as. But I want to know for those who are interested and watch it, if it's useful and if there's another way or something that you would like me to see. One thing I am doing is putting together a huge winning spreadsheet that I'm just will continually update week to week on winning ads as well as giving you the breakthroughs and ways to tag them and organize them together. The reason why I think this is powerful is that the more that you watch, like copy and getting it broken down, even if it's kind of a pain in the ass or annoying, you just do it quick reps over and over and over again, you're going to start to get it. Let the stuff seem into your bones and the stuff will come way more automatic. So that's the purpose of this. Let me know if that's interesting and what you guys think. And without further ado, let's break this one down. This is for a dating ad, which I've seen a lot about. I don't know what that says about my algorithm, but I've seen a lot of this one. I don't know, I think it's called Wing Woman or yeah, Wing Girl Method. I haven't seen the ad recently, but I've seen it a bunch all the time. So we're going to watch the video first, then we're gonna look through the script. I'll do some metrics and then I'll kind of talk about how to get access to a template where you can basically use this one and maybe we'll test it out as well. So let's watch it. First of all.
Wanna know the most common mistake men make when approaching women, but most have no clue that they're making it. See, every time a guy approaches me, one of three scenarios plays out. Scenario number one. He talks to me without ever making a move or escalating. And in that case, he'll always be doomed to the friend zone. I'm not going to see him sexually. Scenario number two, we talk for a while, but when he tries to take it to the next level, he gets rejected immediately and comes off as a creep. Scenario number three, he ignites instant chemistry. Then when he makes a move, the only thing us girls can think of is yes please. So what differentiates that third scenario from the first two? Instead of not looks, promise, status, height or money. And definitely not luck. Even male dating coaches sometimes chalk it up to a numbers game when it's totally not. I can't blame them though. Girls brains are wired to understand this stuff, while guys brains are just not. The truth is, every girl knows there's one thing that makes all the difference after the approach, your flirting skills. And if you're not experiencing number three regularly, then you're not flirting in the specific way ways women are hardwired to respond to. Guys who understand this about women are incredibly rare. Which is why the few who do get it also have way more sexual options than they can handle. If you're interested in having the power to quickly create these kind of emotional connections with women that are sexual in nature, here's what I suggest. Go take a look at my top rated program, the F Formula. The F Formula is a complete formula foolproof system for flirting that works on any woman regardless of her beauty, her career or her past experience with men. All you have to do is click the link in the video now to learn the F formula. You may or may not know this, but good flirting bypasses the logical brain and goes straight to our emotional core. It triggers a gut reaction that fires up our emotions. Unlike the typical conversations we have with most men which fall flat, the F formula shows you a simple flow framework that'll make flirting feel like second nature. Including some word for word examples to help you get the hang of it and get started. This is the fastest way I know of to create the gut level attraction and sexual tension that we women find irresistible. To discover how to quickly and easily ignite feelings of emotional connection.
Okay, I think that's enough. Pretty interesting ad. You know, one thing I'm going to say is like obviously this is like a dating ad and you may be watching this and be like oh my God, like this is like super cringy or how does this even work? Or I'm not the target demographic or this is way too aggressive or I wouldn't be able to apply this to my client or to my customer. The one thing I'VE learned is like if you want to be a great advertiser marketer and honestly just understanding human psychology and how to get attention, do all this stuff, study everything. Like study like I want to read tabloids, I want to watch the most like black hat direct response stuff. I want to look at the most high level branded stuff. I want to look at brain rot. I want to look at anything that, that humans are responding to and there is attention because I think that's one of the best skills you can have as a marketer is just being aware of these different things. So we're looking at all kinds of ads. I'm going to try to mix it up with the styles but don't let that be a turn off if it is and for everyone else I think let's go here, we can go and read this. So it's pretty good ad. Let me try to read through and highlight some of the things that I see. So has a woman ever lied to you, played games with you, burned you, cheated on you, ghosted you, made you feel in love? I want to show you how to guarantee that never happens again. Is this actually even the right ad.
Hocommon mistake men make when approaching Interesting.
So for some reason this one is not the right link, huh? Okay, so let's respond. Let's fuck it. Let's go through this one and let's go through the other one. So let's start here. Has a woman ever lied to you, played games with you, burned you, cheated on you, ghosted you, made you feel unloved, unwanted, like absolute garbage? I want to show you how to guarantee that never happens again. Pretty good. I mean right off the bat, pretty, pretty aggressive, lots of pain points, things like this. So let's, for those who know copyblocks, I'm going to use some of the stuff from there. There's a video on the page if you want to see that again. I want to show you how to guarantee that never happens again. Sad thing about women is that when we meet a man and since he's not stronger than us or masculine, meaning he's not afraid of us, can take the lead. Okay, so this is interesting here. One of the most important things, we just had a call, a training call today and we went through ads and one of the best like type of feedback that we gave is your ads. Need to have an insight. There has to be a reason why you're making this ad so much of like AI ads, which I love AI, I use it, but it's not perfect in Perfect handler's hands. But regardless if it's AI or just a human, one thing they do is they just go with the pain points. And if you're in a marketplace, all the pain points are almost the same. The pain points and the benefits. There's really no meta, there's no alpha in writing. Better pain points or better whatever, like your pain points and your benefits should be as good as possible and accurate as possible. But honestly, markets are mature, like, we know what the pain points are. People are honest and open about them and you can go deeper or whatever, but you're not going to get a huge lift by being better at pain or being better at promising yet. People start their ads all the time. Here's the pain point, here's the promise. And that shit just does not work. You have to go and find something that's different, differentiated. Okay? You need a new insight, a new idea. It is hard. That is a hard skill, but it's one of the most powerful skills. We talk about mechanisms, unique mechanisms, big ideas. There's an art and a science of understanding where culture and human attention is at and then crafting an idea that creates a new epiphany and insight for people. And there's ways to not cheat, but there's ways to kind of skirt around this because it's hard to find things that are genuinely new, right? And there's not that many products that are genuinely innovative. So if you're working with a product that's a little more on the commodity side or whatever, there's different strategies and techniques you can do. And maybe I'll do a video on that, on how to find that insight, but you need to make sure you have it okay. And a lot of, a lot of it's just like how you frame it. If you just say this is insightful, more people are going to respond to it being insightful. But let's look at this. So I think about women. We meet a man, we sense he's not stronger than us or more masculine, means he's not afraid of us, can't take the lead, something happens to us, maybe it's biological or whatever, I don't know, but we can't help ourselves from beginning to see this man is weaker, etc. Okay, so one thing I like about this, which makes this. I don't know if this is going to be a good analog for other markets, but what I like about this is, you know, men, especially men maybe who are older or struggling with, with women, the kind of the hook and angle Is that she's a girl giving advice. If you saw in the other video here, she kind of dismissed all the other men dating coaches being like, well, they just don't understand what we're doing, right? And men could in turn reverse her. Like, how does a. What's a fish going to teach you about fishing? Right? So there's always a kind of a counter argument and way to make this happen. But there's sort of this element almost like. I don't know how to say it. It's almost like a. Like a. It's gonna sound weird, but it's almost like a masochistic dominatrix type thing, right? Just she's on your side, but at the same time, she's really, really stimulating this emotion as a woman. Never lied. You played games with you kind of poked you. And here she's really just calling them out as being weak. So the insight in this case is not even that insightful. I think a lot of men would kind of know that. But it's. It's the emotional weight of this insight. I think that she's kind of directly being like, yo, we think you're weak. Now the flip right here is like, I know, yes. You know, I would put this in constraints. We're awful. We could be horrible. I apologize on behalf of all women, but bear with me for a minute. And this is more insight. We do not want to be this way. We don't want to treat anyone horribly. We're caregivers, we're nurturers and mingle and life has lift up those around the student levels, hoping every day for the next man we interact with to get behind and do that for. Okay, this is pretty interesting here. Some of the stuff that's going on, you know, a lot of guys, especially if they're kind of in this market, they're afraid of women. Like, frankly, they're afraid to talk to women. They're afraid to get to know women. There's a lot of fear that's around it. And so kind of being able to talk about, like, we don't want to treat anyone horribly. We're caregivers, we're nurturers. You're sort of externalizing it, right? Almost like, this is a woman and she's saying, help me. Like, I want to be seduced, I want to be flirted with, I want to be in a relationship. But there's this some part of me that's outside of myself, okay? And so you'll see a lot of this in copy. I call it sort of, like, externalization, where you're externalizing the problem. So. So it's not about the girl in this case, it's not about the guy. It's about something that's external, that's more controllable. I'm not saying that's true. Most things are internal. But that is what people a lot of times respond to. So what if I told you I could show you how to be that kind of guy? The kind of guy women want to lift up and not tear down? I've shown over 100,000 men how to become the man that women want without changing a single thing about his core. So we have promise here. We have proof here. Okay, These are the copy blocks again. There's a video on the page. Guys who understand this kind of stuff about women are incredibly rare, which is why the few who do get it have way more sexual options than they can handle. Okay, this is pretty interesting here. This is what I would call. I need a better name for it, but it's what I call intensification. Okay. So a lot of times what people do is they'll lead with an immediate pain or they'll lead with an immediate promise, and they'll skip out on sort of talking about either the compounding effects of that promise or the negative feedback loop of the negative ones, which are really psychologically quite powerful. So, for example, you know, we were talking to somebody who has, like a. It's like a spinal decompression device, right? And what we were trying to say was almost something like, when you use this device, you're like, freezing time. That allows the. Which is true. Like, when you decompress it, it allows the discs to actually, in their studies that they can actually, like, shrink or they can kind of come back in place. And so what I was saying is, like, you don't want to position this as. This is just treating the symptom, okay? You don't want to say it's treating the root cause because that's not either accurate and also not compliant. But you want to kind of imply or suggest that when you use this thing, you're freezing time and you're creating this cumulative effect. Another one we did was for plants, right? He has an organic plant fertilizer. And the whole insight that I told him was, like, most fertilizers just feed the plant, which is cool, but they kill the soil. And experienced gardeners know you need to actually feed the soil, which has all of these microbes. That's what this fertilizer does instead. Okay, that's the kind of insight that you want to have. It doesn't even need to be logical. It shouldn't be logical because logic and life and truth is very complex and messy. And when you're in an ad that people don't want to watch in the first place and are not expending mental energy to do it, you want to be quick and to the point. You have to use shorthand. So you got to say things like, it's not the plant, it's the fertilizer. Get rid of the nuance, okay? You can do the nuance later in the funnel. And as people kind of get to know you, okay? So, and what we said there was like, when you use his product, plant juice, when you use it, it's actually feeding the soil and making the soil stronger and stronger. So every time you use it, it's actually an investment, okay? In reverse, you could talk about the fact that like, let's say you're not sleeping well, okay? And it's like, well, you're not sleeping well. And over time that leads to this and heart problems and this and this. And the problem just gets worse and worse over time. It's a compounding effect in the negative direction. Okay? Hopefully you see what I mean by intensification. Talk about the positive compounding effect or suggest or imply it and the negative compounding effect to get people away. So look at this. Guys who understand this kind of stuff about women are incredibly rare. Which is why the few who do get it have way more sexual options than they can handle. And they just came on here to figure out how to not get ghosted and cheated. But now we're painting this picture very subtly of this guy who has way more sexual options than he can handle. Okay? I put together a free 45 minute video that I know is going to put a smile on your face because in that 45 minutes it will all become crystal clear. And the frustrations are lack of confidence, I will all disappear. So that's a mixture of constraints, right? Talking about that's free, there's the time, things like that. Again, hitting the promise. You will discover what women secretly want. The kind of thing only a few fellow woman could ever know. This is a nice little piece of differentiation. I don't know. I'm going to put this just pink as sort of like extra shit. Okay? I know it's blinding, but the kind of thing only a fellow woman could ever know. Nice little psychological jab about creating differentiation. You will see exactly how to communicate with us in a way that Builds the kind of sexual tension that women fantasize about every single day. So fair warning though, once your guy friends see the way women respond to. Once you discover this may not let you anywhere near their girlfriends, their wives, or people they're interested in. Right. That's sort of like the old Viagra trick. Like, be careful, it's going to work too well. And again, you know, humans, especially men, Men are pretty easy, I guess, right? That's what they want to know. So it's kind of a funny way to put that. Even if they don't believe it, which frankly, a lot of guys might look at that and roll their eyes or not believe it, but they want to believe that is true. So it's kind of interesting. You also see exactly how to communicate with us in a way that builds kind of sexual tension we women fantasize about every single day. That's cool. Interesting. Click the button. This video is free. It will not be available forever. So as an example of what we would call qualifications. Right. Scarcity. Click the button and you can watch the video now. Again, one thing. People are compliant. Tell them what to do. Click the button. We already have three calls to action. Actually, I'll highlight the call to action with this yellow so we can see it. Whatever. Just whenever it says click the button, I know there's another one here. I missed it put together, I guess. Not a call to action, just something. Remember, finding the right girl doesn't have to be hard when you understand what women really want. Let me be your wing girl. Okay. It's easy to go. So that's pretty interesting. I like that. Let's go to this board here where I have some of the breakdowns. All right, so this is some things. Quick metrics here. Copy velocity score is basically how many copy blocks there are for every word. So that's pretty interesting. We have sort of a pattern interrupt as well. I'm going to never lie to you. Solution Aware. Acknowledging common pain points by introducing unique mechanism of masculine frame.
Cool.
Mostly away versus towards. We have our avatar. Yep. Fear changing who they are. This is an example of an identity constraint which is operative here. Right. They don't want to change who they are. Cool. We have all that. And then what you'll see right here is you will see a template. Okay. I mean, you can just take a screenshot and steal it if you want, but this is a template that you can use in different markets. And I'll have a bot that will be on this page that you can just play around with it. Itself. But this template thrives in markets where two groups consistently misunderstand each other, creating repeated and painful interactions, etc. Okay, so this is not going to apply in every context, but it's a nice little template that you can, you can try out and I'll be providing more templates. Let's just quickly watch this one. And I don't have this script, so it's going to be a little tricky, but let me do this actually. Okay. There's not even a transcript, so let's just watch a couple minutes of it and I'll comment as we go through.
Want to know the most common mistake men make when approaching women? But most have no clue that they're making it. See, every time a guy approaches me, one of three scenarios plays out. Scenario number one, he talks to me without ever making a move or escalating. And in that case, he'll always be doomed to the friend zone. I'm not going to see him sexually. Scenario number two, we talk for a while, but when he tries to take it to the next level, he gets rejected immediately and comes off as a creepy. Scenario number three, he ignites.
So it's pretty interesting. You know, a big factor of this is just the fact that she's a woman going through this and she's. She's really good on camera. You know, people might think otherwise, but I think she's. She's pretty good on camera. Good at being emotive and kind of, you know, nailing a lot of. I think she's been doing it a while, so she knows now they're talking about the most common mistake, which is cool. I mean, that's a classic frame. Like, you could always use this in anything. What's the most common mistake? Number one? Mistake. Biggest thing that people make. That's pretty fair. Most have no clue that they're making it. I like these three different scenarios. I mean, one, it opens up a loop. Like, people like Listicles especially are in the 3 to 5 range because it's a natural open loop. You want to kind of just. You at least want to get the information. Doesn't seem like I need to wait that long. I'm going to get the information now. What's cool is she's painting the scenario. Scenario number one is like. It's like, fuck. That's what most guys are in, right? They're. If they talk to a woman, they're not trying to escalate it, so they're kind of. And then scenario two, they do in their creep, which is sort of confirming their deepest fears. So you're creating these two impossible scenarios and then number three is obviously crazy where he ignites this instant chemistry makes a move.
The only thing us girls can think of is yes, please. So what differentiates that third scenario from the first two? It's not looks, promise, status, height or money. And definitely not luck. Even male dating coach.
So pretty interesting. It's not this, it's not that. And then again, kind of creating her differentiator, which is the insight, but it's also her ability to be kind of candid and sort of like an insider itself. So you know, good lesson that spokesperson, spokespeople, matter obviously hitting these main objections. I can't blame those girls brains are wired to understand this stuff while guys brains aren't. So that's kind of her basic argument. Again, the logic falls falls apart, but it sounds plausible enough. There's one thing that makes all the difference. Okay, one thing that makes all the difference. That's just classic. Look at the, you know, Wall street, the billion dollar Wall Street Journal one, right? The one thing that makes the difference. Like we even have a template that's around that the what makes the difference? If you're not experiencing regular. So then she goes to say it's.
Flirting, your flirting skills. And if you're not experiencing number three, regular.
Now the only thing that I would possibly say, and again, markets are not logical. So just because I think it would make sense and I would argue that it would help, doesn't mean that it ultimately will. And this thing is doing well.
So it's number three, regularly difference after the approach.
Your flirting skill is right here. Flirting skills. So typically, like I said, there's not many new things under the sun, so it's not that many innovations. So typically a really good copywriter need to be doing be good at two things. You need to take something that's ordinary or common or a commodity or at least close to it. And obviously if you're a business owner or product, whatever, you try to create differentiated products. I always try to create new things and differentiated products. I just think that's the way to win ultimately. But in the game of marketing and products, a lot of times you're just taking what you exist and how can I position this in the best light possible? And considering that most things are not genuine innovations and many things are sort of commoditized, you want a way to paint them and make them as premium or make them seem as premium as possible. So typically that's what we do with like an Insight. So the structure is like, you hype this thing up. This thing is awesome. This thing is awesome. This thing is unlike anything you've ever seen. And then when you make the reveal, a lot of times it's like, like flirting. It's like, okay, wow. Like, that's. Thank you for changing my life. Right? Like, number one, you. You don't do anything. Number two, you're a creep. Number three is flirting. So whenever you have this moment, it's a moment that people might bounce because they're like, oh, I kind of know what this is. I've heard this before. I don't need to listen to this. So you can save again. It's worked fine, but you can save a lot of things. Often the feedback I would give is to provide a little bit of clarity, right? So I'd be like, literally one line is all you need. You just literally need to say, and it's not what you think, right? And stay with me because it's very different, right? Something like that. So if she says, oh, it's your flirting skills, I immediately would be like. And no, it's not the flirting that you're typically used to. It's a very different type of flirting, which I'm gonna explain in just one second. Okay. Like, that literally just buys you more time. So whenever you're sort of revealing the thing and it's like a letdown, Ish, I would say.
And if you're not experiencing number three regularly, then you're not flirting in specific ways. Women are hardwired to respond to guys who understand this about women are incredibly rare, which is why the few who do get it also have way more sexual options than they can handle. If you're interested in having the power to quickly create these kind of emotional connections with women that are sexual in nature, here's what I suggest. Go take a look at my top rated program, the F Formula. The F formula is a complete. Her beauty, her career, or may not know this, but good flirting. Bipac fires up, our emotions fall flat. The F formula shows you it's cool.
The rest of it's pretty, pretty standard. The only interesting thing is, like, her reminder like this bypassed the logical system. So if they have logical constraints about themselves, I'm not handsome, I'm not tall, I'm this race, I don't have money, etc. Etc. You know, it's kind of providing that hope to go through it. So that's everything for this ad. I will share this Miro board if you want access to this in future. Ones as well as the new swipe file that I'll be putting together. There's a place to sign up to my email list. That's it. You just sign in, you opt in and you get a whole bunch of stuff basically from my entire channel. It's like a ton of materials. It's more than a full course at this point and we'll continue to get more. And then if you don't want to get my emails after that, just opt out. Okay. But I try to send nice, good regular emails down below Also, there's some other sort of products if you want sort of like a fast start. They're $27. Each one is about kind of launching an AI marketing services business. Launching or scaling it. So if you're sort of in the beginner and intermediate stage, you want to know how to use AI to launch your marketing services business. There's a lot of people in our community who do that. That's a great product for you. If you want to go deeper into the psychology and understanding of things, I highly recommend the Copyblocks training. That's also down below. There is a free video on my YouTube that will give you a bulk of it and that one just goes a lot deeper. So those are two that I would recommend. And we put some other links on there AI marketing newsletter, which is awesome, 100% free and some other resources as well. So that's all I have. Like I said, please let me know what it is you want to see more of. I have some videos coming that are going to be on Sora too, which would be pretty awesome and how to make ads with them. And I have about another four or five videos lined up after that that I'll be making. But I want to know from you guys if you have something that you want me to make, just suggest it, put it in the comments or you have feedback on anything else. I am here to serve you guys and make you guys better. So that's all I got. Thank you so much for the love, support and appreciation. That's it. Peace.
