First up, Agoda has unveiled a new AI powered vacation planner designed specifically for Indian travelers and it's anything but basic. Built with Google's Gemini and Imagen models, the tool allows users to generate customized itineraries and destination suggestions through natural language prompts and interactive visuals. Available through agodavacationplanner.com until June 30, this experimental platform reflects a broader push by Booking holdings and to tap into India's rapidly growing outbound travel market using immersive AI. Bollywood actor Ayushman Khurana lends a familiar face and voice to the campaign, narrating the itineraries as Agoda's virtual Chief Wellness Officer, Mr. Vakwala. The goal to take the stress out of planning by combining AI's personalization power with engaging various visual storytelling. Agoda's co founder Robert Rosenstein has long been vocal about AI solving real problems in travel, and this initiative certainly points to a future where the trip planning process is equal parts automation and inspiration. That blend of tech and human touch was also a central theme at this year's Incentive Research Foundation Invitational in Cancun, where over 500 professionals gathered to discuss the future of incentive travel. IRF President Stephanie Harris emphasized that AI is here to enhance, not replace, the planning process, citing research that shows 63% of planners already use or plan to use AI for tasks like content creation, forecasting and personalization. Yet she reminded the audience that the true value of incentive travel remains rooted in hi human interaction. As the industry prepares for generational shifts and a landscape shaped by Gen Z's tech fluency, leaders urged a flexible mindset. Geopolitical instability and shifting economic conditions may cause hesitation, but the emotional ROI of face to face reward experiences remains strong. The message was Incentive travel is evolving rapidly, but relationships, empathy and creativity remain its cornerstone, even in an AI augmented world.
