Hosts Mark Simpson and Emanuele Pani discuss Emanuele’s short-term rental business history and the technology he now relies on. Emanuele describes inheriting an Excel-based operation when he took over the business in 2012 (manual reservation forms, faxing), then shifting to modern systems: Smartbnb, a property management software to sync OTAs, and dynamic pricing tools (mentions "Andrew Price Labs Wheelhouse"). The clip is an excerpt from a longer 24-hour Clubhouse session republished on the Boostly podcast.

Welcome everybody to the audio version of the Boostly podcast. So today I am going into the vault and I am finding some of the best clips from a 24 hour clubhouse room that we ran this year. It was an, it was an amazing experience to be part of, to host it, to admin it, and to grab friends and peers from the industry into one room on the the leading audio app and help hosts all over the world. We had a lot of fun. We touched every single corner of the globe and what I wanted to do is be able to put it together, find the best bits and put it into the daily Boost podcast. So I hope you enjoy. The section is not going more than 10 minutes, but it's going to feature a part of the 24 hour room that resonated the most with me. So thank you for tuning in and I will be back tomorrow with another POD podcast episode. Right now though, let's jump into that clubhouse room.
So E moving down to yourself, obviously somebody that has built up a business and again I know your buddy Mike is very keen on automations and systems and processes in place. But what about you as a tools that, that you use that you literally can live without and it can be literally anything doesn't have to be hospitality related.
Yeah. So as of late lately and one of the big difference. So I've been doing this for the last 10 years. When I took over the business in 2012, I inherited it from a older gentleman, but he did everything on Excel. So we had a direct booking website where people would submit a request and then we would call them, send them a reservation form, they'll have to print it out, sign it, fax it back to us. And I kind of inherited that business and ran it that way. I'm not a very system forward person for years and then since I started doing the short term rental secret podcast with Mike and my friendship with Mike and meeting all of these awesome people here, I really decided to invest in the technology that is now everywhere. So I would say Life Changer Smart bnb, a good property management software that allows you to push out to as many OTAs as possible while syncing everything. Those two things, if you have already a unit or a couple of units and you just want to feel like what it's like to go to the next level, those would be the first two things and then a good pricing like we talked about. Either you can go with Andrew Price Labs Wheelhouse, they're all, they're all great but that all makes it really much into a business. So I would say those three things that I think pretty much everybody has.
