Helping a Hospitality Business Get More Bookings [Case Study]
4 Jul 2021 · 9 min
This podcast episode (recorded mid-June and released in early July 2021) features Mark Simpson promoting the Boostly Content Creator (a content toolkit for busy hosts) and introducing a live case study with Casa for You (property managers Janek and Tim in Jávea/Javier, Spain). Mark offers a July promotion (first month free via coupon code "July"), outlines what the content creator provides (30–40 social posts/month, video and email templates, website headline tools), and describes plans to perform a "Boostly tune-up" audit of a hard-to-book apartment: reviewing listings, website, emails, social, and channel distribution to increase direct bookings. He also notes personal context (stepped away from running his family property business since Jan 1; the Granary was sold) and invites listeners to contact him at mark@boostly.co.uk to request a tune-up.

Before we start today's episode of the Boosted podcast, I have got some exciting news to share with you. For the month of July, I am giving away one month trial of the boostly content creator. Now, you may be asking and you may be thinking, well, what is the boostly content creator host that I have come into contact with in the five years of doing Boostly? And when I say to them, you need to be posting every single day on social media, you need to be emailing, emailing your guest and your list, they always say to me, I haven't got the time. And I can't think of a better month to promote the boostly content creator than July. Because right now everybody around the world is busy, busy, busy, busy. And they haven't got the time to think about the marketing or the social media or the emails, when in fact the best time to do marketing is when you're at your busiest because that means that you always have a pipeline coming through. So I created the boostly content creator for busy hosts. Now what do you get? Every single month you get 30 to 40 pieces of fresh social media content that you can use for your social media channels. LinkedIn, Instagram, et cetera. You also get video templates which are designed to stop the scroll on social media, which is really powerful. Email templates designed by expert copywriters that are working so well. Georgina Bearman messaged up in our Facebook group to say that she used one of the email templates and got free bookings, direct bookings instantly, which more than covered the cost. You also now get website headline generator tools. You get a money back guarantee and you can cancel anytime. The price is only five pound a month. And right now when you sign up, you go into the boostlycontentcreator.com you add to your basket in the coupon code section, you type in July and you get the first month free. Now that is only available for the month of July. After that it's five pound. If you don't want to continue, you can just cancel at any time. But please make sure that you go and you use the boostly content creator. My goal is a month in the month of July is to get 1,000 new hosts to register and sign up. This is how powerful I know this tool is because the email templates in itself are providing a massive return of investment and I would love for you to come and join. This is for new members only. Just go to boostlycontent creator.com add it to your basket, put in coupon code July and I'll see you on the other side. Right now we've got that out of the way. Let's get on with today's podcast episode. Welcome back to the Boostly podcast. And I'm going to do something a little bit different over the upcoming episodes. I have been wanting to test something for quite a while now. I've been since January 1st, no longer in the hospitality business. Now what do I mean by that? Well, our family business, the granary, was finally, after many years, sold to a young family. My parents wanted to retire and, you know, Boostly is just overtaking everything at the moment. So I've been stepping away, but I really wanted to keep fresh. I really want to make sure that the tactics and the tips that I teach are still relevant and have an impact. And I really wanted to do something new. And there's a, there's an idea that I've had for quite a while and I'm not ready to launch it just yet, but I wanted to test it to see if it works. And I reached out to a couple that I know here locally in Javier, Joneck and Tim of Casa for you in Javier, you and we've had a couple of coffee meetups. Real nice couple. Love the story and never think about them. They know some good people that I know. And it was upon the last conversation I had with them when I noticed that one of their apartments they were finding tricky to get booked out. So on one of my meditation sessions, funny enough, this idea came to my head and I reached out to him, send him a WhatsApp and I said, here's an idea, that apartment that you're finding tricky to shift, how about at no charge we do a little test and I explain what the test is and they're up for it. So today we've just met and bearing in mind I'm recording this a couple of weeks earlier, this is the 15th of June, I'm recording this. So by the time you come to see this, this is going to be around about the 4th or the 5th of July. So hopefully by the time you come to see these episodes, the apartment has been booked out. So let's see if this test we're going to do real life examples. So what am I going to do? Well, I'm going to go in and I am going to tweak the business. Now, the best way I described it to him is just like when you take your car in for a service, you get the oil change, the tires are checked, the car is checked, you're just giving A little bit of a tune up so it's ready to go and it's firing. And when you do that, more often than not, you don't do it yourself. You send it into an expert. And the thing that I'm trying to create, and the idea is the name is, keeps coming to my head, is the boostly tune up, like the boostly service. And this is what we're basically going to do. I'm going to go in and I'm going to have a total, you know, I'm not stuck in the bottle, so I'm not working on the inside out, so to speak. I'm having an overview of everything. I'm just going to go in and have a total look at the listing. We're going to look at where the best places that they need to be marketing and have a look at everything, including website and emails and, and social media and the listing sites. And I'll just give it a tune up from what I know, from what the algorithms are looking for, what potential guests are looking for, and we'll just delve into a few things. So I'm going to show you, I'm going to document to you as I do this now. Hopefully you'll be able to pick up some inspiration and you'll be able to go, okay, so I need to go in and tune and tweak this. But what I want to stress to everybody is that what I do for Janek and Tim, Casa for you isn't going to be the same thing that I would do for you. It all depends on location, your niche, who you're appealing to, you know, prices, availability. Every business is different. But I wanted to document this to just show you what I do, how I would do it if I was going to be working or if Casa for you was. Was my business and I was looking to, to market, to get more bookings. Okay. So again, please don't try and copy this word for word because it won't work for you, but just try and take inspiration. So I'm going to keep coming back to this series over these podcast episodes. It might be every day, it might be once every few days. Depends on what I've got to show you. But for now, let me just very quickly share my screen. So this is Casa for you. Casa for you. N L so Janek and Tim are from the Netherlands. Fantastic. Like, really nice idea. The property management, the management company that they have set up here in, in the Costa Blanca. They know who their niche is, they know who their target audience is. Very clearly and they've got some really nice properties on board. Thankfully, they are going to be moving away from Logify and they're going to be moving to another pms. I won't tell you who that is, just in case I don't want to tell you who that is. So we're very limited in what we can actually do on the Lodfy website right now. We've obviously spoken about Boostly websites and later on in the year we are going to help them with a Boostly website. But this is, this is what we have. So, Pat, the first thing that I did and the first thing that I recommend everybody to do if you're in this situation is I showed them a video, I gave them some homework. So those of you that have been following me for a while, you'll know that this video right here, boostly.co.uk forward/listing sites. This is something that I've done right from day one and it's a really good exercise that you can do that will help you to decide on where to list your property. Because as I've always said, you can't just put your eggs in, in one basket, so to speak. You do have to be able to make sure that you are multi channel and multi present. So this exercise, what it does and what it shows you how to do is how to make sure that you're appearing on the most popular searches in your area, your niche and your location. So that's one of the first things. So we've done that. Now what we're going to do next and what I'm going to do over the coming days is I'm going to show you me going into the listings and I'm going to show you how I tweak things X, Y and Z and some things that we're going to set up behind the scenes. So that's what we're going to be doing. Super exciting. I'm excited to share this with you and if you feel like you would like for me to do this service for you, then just send me a message. Mark@boostly.co.uk the subject headline would be Boostly Tune up. I haven't come up with the product, I haven't come up with the price, but I, if I get a lot of interest, then I will offer this service in the future. So if you feel like this is something that you would like and again, I'm not announcing this anywhere else apart from the podcast. So again, if you would like to be one of the first, then please let me know. Thank you to Janet and Tim for trusted me with the business and let's see if we can go and get some direct bookings.
