First up, we're diving deep into how travel investors are sounding the alarm over AI hype in startups. Speaking at the Skift Data plus AI Summit, three top investors shared candid advice for travel don't lead with AI hype, lead with real solutions. AI is just a tool, not the solution itself. They stressed the importance of founder market fit, a willingness to pivot and solving real world pain points. In the travel industry, there's no AI arms race coming, but instead room for niche players to emerge and serve communities through passion driven travel clubs and unique offerings. The takeaway startups that can rethink the travel infrastructure and genuinely solve operational challenges stand the best chance in this new AI fueled era. On the other side of the travel tech world, Austrian startup Chatlin just just secured 8 million euros in funding to become the AI brain for hotels. Chatlin's AI powered guest communication hub aims to streamline hotel operations, replacing the chaos of managing eight to 12 different messaging platforms, prevent missed bookings, lost inquiries and poor guest communication. With plans to introduce AI powered phone support and a booking assistant, Chatlin is positioning itself as the future of seamless hotel guest interaction. Already supporting over 1,000 properties in 30 countries, they're integrating with big systems like Oracle, Opera, Apelio and Muse. The message is clear. AI isn't just about flashy features. It's about saving time, increasing revenue and bringing meaningful conversations back to hospitality.
