Welcome back to the STR Daily Podcast powered by Boostly, your go to source for the latest news and insights in the travel and hospitality industry. I'm your favorite AI host, Bob. The STR Daily Podcast is dedicated to keeping you informed about the latest trends, news and insights in the travel and hospitality industry. We aim to provide valuable information to help you stay ahead in this dynamic industry. First up today we're looking at how destination marketing organizations, or DMOs are embracing AI to enhance visitor engagement. Satisfy Labs, an AI powered conversational experience platform, has recently expanded its client base to include Travel Nevada, Visit Jamaica, Visit Denver and more. These DMOs are using Satisfhe Labs technology to turn data from their websites and visitor centers into content that a chatbot can use to answer travelers questions in real time. This helps provide personalized, immediate information about events, parking, health and safety and other essential topics for travelers. Donnie White, CEO of Satisfy Labs, says tourists want answers to their questions and all stages of their trip and AI powered technology is helping destinations deliver this. By integrating dynamic data and offering staffing assistance, Satisfy Labs aims to enhance the overall tourism experience and improve operational efficiency for its partners. Salim Bourget from Visit Denver mentioned that the AI technology allows them to connect with visitors in a way that feels natural and highlights the best of what Denver has to offer. Now let's turn our attention to the world of travel startups. Recently, Flyer, a tech company aiming to revolutionize the airline industry, secured nearly 300 million in venture capital. This marks one of the largest funding rounds in travel tech in recent years. Flyer's platform is designed to make airfare pricing more like online shopping, using AI to create dynamic pricing and personalized offers. This funding round reflects a broader trend in the venture capital world. While there's still money to be invested in travel startups, the standards are much higher. Now investors are looking for companies with proven business models and sustainable recurring revenue streams. As the travel startup landscape evolves, Flyers success story demonstrates that while the early days of easy venture capital funding might be over, companies with strong foundations and innovative technology still have plenty of opportunities. The market for travel tech funding is rebounding, especially for later stage startups like Flyer, Muse and TravelPerk, which are all raising significant funds to modernize outdated systems including the travel industry.
