So today's session is how to use ChatGPT to create a winning website. So there are lots of different approaches you can take to using ChatGPT. I'm going to cover a couple of different kind of avenues and show you how you can use it in conjunction with other software or with a web designer or however you want to approach this to get you really jump started on creating a quick website or, or improving the website that you already have. If you have a website and you want to improve the, the wording on there or the design or something like that, then this is something that you can use CHAT GBT to get some critique and feedback and improve what you already have. So that's what we're going to look at today. But the first thing that I want to talk to you about, which I always like to say first when we do anything that's related to marketing strategy, is you need to have a really clear idea of who your IDE client profile is. So what this means is you need to know exactly who you like to work with in your business. Now you can go really in depth on this and you can kind of identify all of the different criteria that, that might look like. You know, what kind of revenue do they have, what industry do they work in? Are they a startup or are they exiting their business? Are they well established, you know, what's the age of the business, how many employees do they have?
What's the attitude of the person that you're working with? Loads of different things that you, you can think of and anything that is important to you, that can become whatever your criteria is for your ideal client profile. And we do have a lot of other sessions where we go into this in more detail, which you can definitely check out. But you definitely need to know who your ideal client profile is first so that when you do this process and you make your website and you get the wording and you get the design and you do all of this, it's, it's really targeted and nuanced and defined to specifically speak to that kind of client that you want to draw to your business. You don't want to just draw anybody to your business. You want to attract clients that you are going to enjoy working with, that are going to value the work that you do and that are willing to pay you that high price to work with you because you are the best and the expert and you are a standout and you're different from the rest. Okay? So knowing that ideal client profile is really important as a starting point. Now the Next thing that we're going to talk about is what kind of things would you want to put on your website to make it a great website? Now, of course, we're going to go into ChatGPT later, and if you ask ChatGPT this question, what can I do to make my website stand out? It will give you 20 different items and there are lots and lots of different things that you can do. I'm going to summarize for five key things that you can do to make your website great. This is something that we go into a lot more detail on our academy, but I'm going to give you a quick overview before we head into ChatGPT so that you can get a sense of what kind of things you want to be including on the website. So, number one is your authority positioning. Now, what this means is you want to position yourself as the authority in your particular area or service that you specialize in. Or if you have a niche, you want to present yourself as the expert and the authority you need to give yourself credibility on your website, whether that's through case studies or testimonials, whether it's through your qualifications that you have. You want to put these sorts of things on your website so that people can see that you know what you're doing and you're well equipped and qualified to help them with the work that they do and, and that you are more desirable to work with because of the results that you can get for your client. So making yourself positioning yourself as this authority figure in the area or the niche that you work in is going to really kind of make you stand out and help to build this what we call know like and trust factor, where the client warms to you to a point where they're ready to buy from you. When they first land on your website, they might not know anything about you and they might not be ready to buy. So this is what we do to start growing this trust and this relationship with them. Okay, so having authority positioning is really important. The second thing that you want to have on your website is some form of lead capture. So what that means is something on your website where somebody can go and put their name and email address in in order to access some sort of freebie or piece of content from you. So a lot of people, you might have seen this on somebody's website where it says, join, join our newsletter. And whilst I wouldn't say that that's necessarily the best example, it is a way of capturing somebody's name and email address. Now, what this allows you to do is continue to build a relationship with that person even after they've left your website. So they could land on your website, they could scout around for a couple of minutes or maybe not even that long, not really like what they see, or maybe they get busy with something else and you lose their interest and you lose their engagement. So, so you want to have something on your website that they can engage with and they can give you your contact details in order for you to be able to maintain that contact with them and market further to them and grow a relationship with them. So having a form of lead capture is really powerful and there's lots of ways that you can do that. But particularly giving away a great piece of valuable content for free in exchange for their name and email address is a really powerful way of doing that. So, number three, what makes a great website is differentiation. So again, if you were to ask ChatGPT this question, how do I differentiate? There are lots of different things that you can do. Later on I'm going to talk to you about three different ones of how you can differentiate. But there are lots of things that you can do to make yourself stand out from the crowd, to make yourself seem more appealing than the other accountant down the street or the other accountant that has the exact same thing on their website. There are phrases and certain things that we want to avoid, things like common phrases putting your prices on the website. You just want to differentiate yourself from that and make yourself stand out from the rest. So we're going to look at a couple of ways you can do that. Number four then is you want to start a journey. So we kind of talked about this a little bit with the lead capture element. But when somebody lands on your website, that could be their very first impression of you. But you want to be able to find some way of moving them along a journey with you where you build a relationship with them and you start to build this, what we call the KLT factor, so that they need to know who you are, they need to like what you do, and they need to trust that you are capable and you know that you're not scammy or weird or anything like that. So they need to know like and trust you in order to be confident enough to buy from you or book an appointment or whatever that buying action is. Okay, so you starting a journey with them. And then the fifth element that you want to consider when you're making a great website is what is the user's experience? So this is considering things like how quickly does the site load? Are there videos on there that play really slowly? Are there animations that are a bit clunky? You know, does things load quickly? And these sorts of things, is it laid out in a way that's easy for them to consume? Is the button to go back to the homepage really obvious? Does it navigate really well? Okay, so lots of different things you want to consider about making sure that that user's experience is really smooth and easy and everything is accessible and just easy to use. Okay, so that's a really quick overview of the kind of different things that you want to include on your website. Now what we're going to do is we're going to go into ChatGPT and have a look at how we can get ChatGPT to do various different things. So we're going to kind of start from the very beginning of the process as if you were.
As if you were creating a website from scratch. So the very first thing that we're going to look at now, what we're looking at here is the free version. And most of the things that I'm going to show you today are the free version of ChatGPT. And if I do show you a paid feature, I will tell you that that is a paid feature, because I'm going to show you some stuff as well, just so you can see the differ. But in the free version here, the first thing that I'm going to look at doing is using ChatGPT to research where I can host my website or what tool I use to build my website. So this is just one example and what I'm showing you here is how to find the best tool available to build your website. But you could do this for anything else. You could research a web designer if you want. You could research which domain you need to host your website on. Okay, lots of different things, but the idea here is that you can use it for research. So we're using the free version here and I'm going to show you as well a little bit about how the different, different prompts and being a bit more complicated with your prompts can get you a better solution as well. So here's the prompt that I've given it. I need to create a new website for my bookkeeping business. I am a solo entrepreneur, so I'm going to build it myself. Can you do some research and suggest to me the best tools available? The criteria I need to know is the price and the ease of use. If you have any other criteria that you desperately need to know, put those in there. As well, can you display the information you find in a table for comparison? So that's a relatively simple prompt and we're on the free version here. So you need to be aware that what it's doing here is it's researching from its data banks of information, which is.
In the free version. The 3.5 GPT that cut off of information that it has is January 2022. So all of the prices that it pulls up, all of the information. If you're using the free version to do this, you need to be aware that the prices and stuff might not be entirely accurate, but it might be a great starting point for you to say I have absolutely no idea where I can build my website. Here are a couple of great examples. I can go and do a little bit more research on this in another way. Okay, so, so you can, it's a great starting point really for your research, but you can see here that it's made me a table and we've got Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, Weebly and Shopify. So these are five different website building tools that you might like to look into. You can see that it's put this into a table for me. And in the price section. So with wix for example, it says a free plan is available with limited features and the premium plan starts at 14amonth. So again you're going to want to double ch that if you're using the free version here because it might not have the most up to date prices but the ease of use as well. It says it's very user friendly, it's drag and drop interface and it's suitable for beginners. So if you're building your own website, if you're a solo business owner and you don't have the, maybe the, the budget or you don't want to outsource this work, you want to do it yourself or you want to hand it to somebody within your team to do, then this might be a great starting point for you to work out what kind of tool is great to use. Okay. And that's an example of showing you a website builder. But you could do same with where should I host my domain and you know, anything else that you can think of that's to do with research, it's great to do on here. So that's the free version. Now if you use the paid version of chat GPT, which is the version 4, then what it's going to do is access the Internet to do that research for you. So I've put the exact same prompt in here, but Now I'm using GPT4. And what you'll notice the difference here is that on the table there's a little blue kind of speech mark button and this, if I click this, that will take me to the website that it has used to do that research. So it's given me the source for its research and it does this very, very quickly, it does this within seconds. But it's now given me this kind of table where those prices are probably more reliably up to date because it's used the Internet to access that information, given me a rating for each one as well. And then it's told me what it's best for. So WIX is best for overall use, design and versatility. WordPress is best for budget conscious users and customization features. Wix E Commerce, which is another one that it's found here, is good for online stores with extensive catalogs. So this is something that if you're building your own website, it's really useful. But even, you know, extending that, if you're building a website or trying to give business advice to your clients and your clients have a business that is E commerce based, then you can do this research for them on their behalf and give that research over to them as well. So different ways that you can use that, it doesn't have to necessarily be for your own website. Okay, so research is where we're starting here. If you're looking for a tool now let's say you already know that tool. What you want to do next is look at the wording. So this is where ChatGPT really excels is it's really great at wording and particularly marketing copy, which is any wording to do with marketing we call copy. So I'm going to start off by giving it a very basic prompt to see what it comes up with for the wording for my website. So this prompt is really, really simple. I'm using the free version here. I'm using 3.5. I'm designing a new website for my bookkeeping business. Write me some copy, including a headline and body text and a description of my top services. That's very, very basic. There's no context there for who I am and my business. It's just I'm a bookkeeping business. Write me a website copy. It's very, very simple prompt and even with that very basic level, it's given me a pretty decent response. So we've got the headline here says streamline your finances with expert bookkeeping solutions. Which is great because it Leads with a benefit streamline your finances. Okay. Body text it's come up with is welcome to insert business name where we specialize in simplifying your financial management so you can focus on what truly matters. Growing your business. With our comprehensive bookkeeping services, we take the stress out of maintaining accurate records and navigating complex financial landscapes. Okay, a great start to the body text. And then a little bit further down it's done the services for us as well. So it's outlined, the services would be bookkeeping and accounting, payroll tax preparation and planning and financial analysis reporting and business advisory services. And for each one of those is given a little bit of a description of what that would include. Now, because of the very limited amount of information I gave it in the prompt, I said that I was a bookkeeping business. Now, as a bookkeeping business, maybe you don't do tax preparation and planning, maybe you don't do business advisory services. Maybe that doesn't fall within what you do. So the more nuanced we can get with that prompt, the better the response is going to be and the more tailored it's going to be for our website.
So the next example, what I've actually done is so right at the start we talked about having an ideal client profile and I've done sessions on this before where I've shown you how to build that ideal client profile with ChatGPT. So what I've done is I've built an ideal client profile using ChatGPT and I've taken that kind of summary of the profile and I've added it to my custom instructions. So you can do this on the free version. And what I'm going to do is go to where my name is in the bottom left corner and click on custom instructions. Now I currently have this switched off, but what I can do is enable this for new chats. And this means that every time I now ask a question, so even if I ask that really basic prompt, it's now got extra information to draw on. So it knows who my ideal client profile is. Because I've added this to my customer instructions. So the example that I've gone with here is now I won't read through all of it quite long, but here is my ideal client profile. I am a small to medium business pet owner. So this is in the first person of the ideal client profile. The ideal client profile is a small business, small to medium sized business owner in the pet industry located in the uk. My business, whether it's a pet store, veterinary clinic, groomer or pet Product manufacturer has an annual turnover of around $250,000 to 5 million. Now it's put it in dollars. I did say that it was uk, so that's something that I've just not spotted. I would need to change that factor over. But I am proud of my business profitability and I'm always looking for ways to optimize my tax strategy and invest back into my growth. So the client that I like to work with here is pet industries with that kind of revenue amount and that they are focused on growing and optimizing for their tax. So that's the service that I provide. I work within that niche of the pet industry. That's my ideal client profile and there's more information in there that just gives it a lot more information. But now even if I use a really basic prompt, so I'm going to just turn that off whilst I show you this, because I've already got it prepared, even if I use that exact same prompt that I used previously. I'm designing a new website for my bookkeeping business. Write me some copy, including a headliner, body text and description of my top services. Now that I have that ideal client profile information saved into the custom instructions and I turn it on and I enable it, even with that really simple prompt, I'm now going to get a much more nuanced and defined set of copy because it knows who that client is and it's going to target and tailor that wording to, to suit that ideal client profile and to draw that person in and speak directly to them so that they feel understood and heard and called out. So the headline this time, tailored solutions for your pet business. Unlock financial success with our expert bookkeeping services. So it's called out the pet business and we still got the benefit is financial success and the bookkeeping services is what we provide. So we've got a headline that now calls out that industry that we like to work with. So somebody that lands on this website and sees that headline and said, tailored solutions for your pet business and they own a pet business, they're going to see that and they're going to think, yes, this is the accountant for me, because they, they specialize in the pet business and that's what I need. I need somebody who, who has a tailored solution specifically for me and my business and my circumstances. So that copy is much more effective on your website for attracting that ideal client and getting that ideal client to engage with you and with your business because it's much more tailored, because it's much more specific. And it speaks directly to that person that you want to work with and you want to serve. Okay, so the body text is welcome to our business where we specialize in providing comprehensive bookkeeping services tailored to meet the unique needs of businesses in the pet industry across the uk. With our dedication to accuracy, efficiency and understanding of your specific challenges, we're here to support your journey towards financial success. So it's similar, but we now have a little bit more information. You know, that we're working with the pet industry.
The services down here, I think they are pretty similar, but we've got bookkeeping, tax optimization, financial reporting, technology integration as well. That was a new one. And business advisory. So it's come up with these different services for me, even from that very, very simple prompt. And some of those do have a bit of information about the pet business. Here, financial reporting gain valuable insights into the financial health of your pet business with our comprehensive reporting strategies. So it's just added that little bit of extra information drawing from the ideal client profile that you already have. So if you do that and you're using the free version and the first thing you do is you create your ideal client profile and add that to your custom instructions, then all of the other things that you create around your website, the other copy that you do, and the other things that I'm going to show you, it's now all going to be tailored to your audience. So you don't need to add that context to every single prompt. Your prompts can be a lot more simple or don't need to include all of that context in there because it's already there in your custom instructions. So it's just going to save you a little bit of time and make sure that everything is always geared and focused towards idle client profile, because that's what we want to be doing.
So let's look then at something that, let's look at how, how changing that prompt and making that prompt a little bit more complex, a little bit more specific can really give you a much better outcome. So we do teach in the academy in a lot more detail how to do go about prompt engineering. And this is kind of just scratching the surface here, but the first sort of thing you do is split it into these areas and I've outlined it on the prompt so that we can see where that, where these different elements come in. But here's the prompt. So first of all, what I'm going to do is I'm going to include a Persona, I'm going to give you chat GPT, a Role to play. Now, normally in the background and the coding of Chat GPT, it's originally set up to be a personal assistant. That is its kind of default role. So if you wanted to do something slightly different than that, then you give it the role. So I now want it to be an expert copywriter and a website designer. I want it to draw on that kind of expertise and think in the mind frame of it being that thing. What would you say to me if you were an expert copywriter, if you were an expert designer rather than a personal assistant? Okay, so give it a Persona. Next, you want to give it a task. So the task here, and I've given it quite a substantial task here, your task is to create wording for my website, including a headline that calls out my ideal client. And the big benefit we deliver a sub headline that expands on that point and explains in one sentence who we are and how we help, followed by body copy of the website that speaks to our ideal clients pain points and challenges and offers specific solutions and results to that client. I will also need a series of frequently asked questions that my ideal client might ask. And I will also need a short phrase to include in the buttons on my website. Give me three options for those. So I've given it quite a lot in that task and this is something that, because I am a marketer, I know how to ask for these things and I know that these are things that I'm going to need. So you, it's always really useful to have that extra training and to have that extra knowledge yourself of what kind of things to ask for. And even if you don't go to ChatGPT, have an extra prompt in there and ask something first in a different conversation that say, what is the best layout for my website? How do I find what that is? And then you can incorporate that into other conversations or get that research first. And then you can nuance and define your prompt a lot more so that the text it comes out with follows that standard order and whatever it is you want to do. So make sure you have that knowledge in some way before you do that. And then you can make these prompts a lot more specific and nuanced. Okay, so that's the task we've got Persona, we've got task. Next, I'm going to give it some context. Now, if you already added that ideal client profile behind the scenes and the custom instructions, that context doesn't need to be very deep because it already has the context to draw on behind the scenes. Okay, so but you Might like to give it a little bit more instruction. You might like to say this is specifically going to this kind of segment of my niche. Whatever it is you want to do, if you need to give it more context here, that's what you can do. So I've put here, I'm a bookkeeper who works with small solo business owners, owners in the pet industry in the uk, England. So it's already got my ideal client profile to draw on. But I've just put that in there for the demonstrations of this. So even if you're not using the ideal client profile in your customer instructions, this prompt on its own now has enough information to get started on something that will be appropriate for you. So the next is the audience. I want to call out what my audience is and this is my ideal client profile. Again, if you already have the ideal client profile in your customer instructions, it's not really necessary to add this to your prompt. But if you don't have that in there yet, you don't have the customer instructions in there, then you'll want to add this audience to your prompt so that it knows who you're speaking to and who to target that writing towards. So the ideal client I like to work with is solo business owners in the pet industry that are recently starting up. So just an example, they're recent startup businesses. They should be growth oriented and ambitious. They should have a strong online presence. That's just an example I've come up with. And then the last kind of element of this is to give it a response format. So in the first prompt that I showed you, I added the response format that I want this to be displayed in a table. So this is how I want that response to be laid out. Okay, so it might be that I want this in the form of an email with a subject line. I might be. I want this to be in a table. I want this to be an essay with no paragraph breaks. However you want it formatted, that's how you write it out. So in here I've put that I would like you to respond with markdown, which is just a series of really basic coding that allows it to add bold and bolden things, or italicize things, or make the words a different kind of size and stuff. So that's just something that it will use to make it visually look a little bit better. And then I've also added that I want it to use a fun and friendly tone throughout, so you can see how the tone changes things as well.
So those are the five elements that I've used in this prompt. Now let's take a look and see what the wording looks like for my website now. So the headline is unleash your pet business's potential with stress free finances. So we're calling out that we work with the pet industry. So unleash your pet business's potential. We're calling out who we work with. We're speaking to the benefit which is stress free finances. You don't have to stress about this anymore. Okay, so that's a, a powerful headline that talks about the big benefit and calls out who we like to work with. So somebody landing on that website is going to see that and think, yes, that's me. That is the service I need. I want to work with this person because they know what I need. They are the expert in this area. That's your authority positioning coming through there. So the sub headline is now I asked it to be in a fun and friendly tone here. So it's put some kind of puns and stuff in here, but if you don't like that, you just change the tone of it. You just remove that line and say, I want this to be professional, but I've asked it to be fun and friendly. So what we have here on the subject, the sub headline is we are the positively perfect partner for petpreneurs. Try saying that five times faster. Providing tail wagging bookkeeping solutions for your growing business. So it's a little bit quirky, it's a little bit fun, but it still is talking to who we are and who we serve and how we serve you. So who we are, we are the perfect partner for pet entrepreneurs. That's who we work with. So you're still actually talking about who you serve. You'd like to talk about more about them than about you. A lot of websites, they get on there and say, we are a friendly firm of accountants. We were established in 1897 and stuff. People don't care. They don't. They don't care about when your business was established. They don't really care about you and how that came about. What they care about is how they can benefit from working with you. What result can you get them. So the more you talk about them, the better and, and the less you kind of talk about you. So that is saying who we are and who we work with by actually still talking about them. We're the positively perfect partner for petpreneurs. Still talking about working with you. Providing tail wagging bookkeeping solutions for your growing business. So a little Bit of a pun there, tail wagging. But great bookkeeping solutions for your growing business as well because we like to work with people who are growth orientated. So the body copy we have here, hey there, ambitious petpreneur. And it's got an emoji in here. Now if you like that or not, you don't have to include that on your website, but you can add that to the prompt and say in the response format. I don't want emojis to be included. You just go back, refine your prompt and find something that works or just remove them when you go and use this copy. So hey there, ambitious petpreneur. Are you tired of chasing your tail trying to manage your business finances on your own? We feel you running a pet business is no walk in the park, but fret not, we're here to lend you a helping poor. Okay, lots of puns in there. But what, what they are drawing on here, what it's drawing on here is the pain point. So I asked it to draw on the pain point. Are you tired of chasing your tail trying to manage the business finances on your own? So it knows that my ideal client profile is solo business owners in the pet industry. So it knows that they're working on their own. And one of those potential pain points is, you know, trying to manage the finances when maybe they're overwhelmed or stressed or worried and it's something that they, they don't know they're not confident in. It's not why they got into business to manage the books. It's not why they got into business. They wanted to work with the animals and whatever else it is. So it's, it's speaking to that pain point. Okay. And then it's going to go on to talk about solution. At our business, we specialize in taking the stress out of your finances so you can focus on what you love, pampering those furry friends and growing your business from managing your accounts to keeping track of your expenses. We've got your back. So we're talking about the solution that we provide and what that enables them to go and do. We're reducing your stress. You can go back and focus on the work that you like to do because we're going to take over the stress of that. So some great wording here that it's come out with. So that's the body copy. Now I also asked it to write a series of FAQs, so frequently asked questions. Now the reason I did this, I'm going to talk a little bit about SEO In a moment. But the wording on your website can really impact on how well it ranks when, when it's searched for on a search engine or Google or Bing or where wherever it is, the wording on the website is really. So if people have common questions that they ask, they have pain points, they have obstacles or challenges and they ask those questions and you know from your market research or you know from your ideal client profile what those pain points are and those challenges and struggles, that might be something that they are searching for online. So if your website has a section on it, whether it's a blog or an FAQ section that uses that wording, that is the.
So I mean, the examples that it's pulled through here, maybe I wouldn't use. But question three there is how do I know if I need bookkeeping services for my pet business, somebody might be going to Google and typing that in because it's something that they worry about. If you, if you know more pain points that they have, add those to your FAQs. And therefore when people search for that phrase, your website's more likely to pop up because it's addressing that point and it's got that wording there on their website and it's relevant to what they're searching for. So I hope that makes sense. Basically, the wording on your website, if you can get it to be speaking to what they are searching for, those pain points, it's going to help it rank higher in search engine optimization, it's going to rank higher on Google and Bing, wherever else is you're searching for. So having FAQs on the, on there is really, really important now. And then the last section here we've got the button phrases. I asked it to give me three different button phrases. So it's put getting started today. Get started today. So there would be a button on the website somewhere that says get started to click here. Get started today. Let's talk furtunate finances. Not quite sure what that's supposed to be. Fortunate finances and fetch your financial freedom. So always take this with a grain of salt. It may not be the best prompt ever. I probably wouldn't use that second one. Let's talk fortunate finances. I don't even know what that means. I would not use that one. But it's giving you a starting point, it's giving you some information. And what you might like to do is I asked for all of this stuff in one prompt. You might like to break it down and give it to it in a series of prompts and say Right. First, make me the headline and give me 10 options, and we can play around with the headline and spend some time on that, because it's saving you a lot of time doing this anyway. So if you want to kind of reinvest that time to use ChatGPT to go into a little bit more detail, then you can do that instead. So rather than in that task saying all of those things, now that you've started the conversation and you've given it the context, and the audience is going to remember that, and you could then split that task down and do what we call prompt chaining.
Where you give it the first prompt and say, I, I need you to help me with my website. Here's the context, here's the audience, here's the. The response format. Here's step one. Let's do step one. First, create me a series of 20 headlines, and then you take the best bits that you like from those. Okay, we've done that. Now let's do step two, and let's create the body copy. And you go through that and you give it more information and you add to those prompt to make it more specific and defined. Okay, now we've done that. Let's do the FAQs. Here are a couple of examples of the pain points that I know my clients have. Let's focus it around that. So you can give it a series of prompts that go into each one individually. Gives it a little bit more context and a little bit more information of what you want it to generate. And then you can take what it gives you, and you can nuance that and define that yourself. And you can, you know, tweak it so that it fits your kind of tone and style of writing. You can add prompts in there that change the tone of the writing, or you can take what it's given you as a great starting point and then go and just tweak it so that you're happy and comfortable with the way it sounds and the way it comes across. Okay, so I did that in just one prompt, but you might like to break that down and give it in a series of prompts and work through each kind of segment more methodically in that way, if you will. Okay, so that's an example of a more complex prompt. Now, what I'm going to show you next is so, so far, this is kind of if you're coming from a point of view where you don't have a website at all or you're coming from scratch. Now, let's say you already have A website, and you just want it to improve the writing that you have. So I went to our website and I just copied some of the text from the top section. So the first kind of bit of text on our website says, hi, I'm Mark Wisham. I teach accountants and bookkeepers how to make the transition to value pricing, win better clients and increase their firm's profits. If you're ready to make more money, then let's get started. And then, so in the prompt, I've just kind of sandwiched that by saying, first of all, here is the headline and the subhead for my website. And then I've just pasted that text in there. And then at the end, I said, critique this and suggest improvements. So again, that's a very basic prompt. I could add more context if I wanted. I could say, this is my niche, this is yada yada. I could add the client profile to the customer instructions. I can add a lot more information there, but just with this very simple prompt. It's given me some feedback on that. So your headline and your subhead are clear and informative, providing a snapshot of what visitors can expect from your website. However, here are some suggestions questions to enhance them. So the headline that it's suggested is unlock your firm's potential with Mark Wickersham, Transition to value pricing and boost profits. Then the subhead is empowering accountants and bookkeepers to win premium clients and maximize revenue streams. So that's good. It's, you know, we're leading with, we're calling people out, we're calling out the ideal clients so that they feel spoken to accountants and bookkeepers, and then giving them some, some of the key benefits. Your win premium clients and maximize your revenue stream. So that's something that we work on with with our members. So that's a great thing to have. And then the call to action here it said, ready to elevate your firm's profitability. Let's embark on this transformative journey together. So. And he's given me a little bit of reasoning there as well. By refining the headline to emphasize unlocking potential and transitioning to value pricing, it highlights the benefits immediately. The subhead adds a layer of empowerment and specifies the target audience's goals succinctly. Finally, a strong call to action motivates visitors to take action, inviting them to embark on the journey towards increased profitability. Okay, so on our website, we do have that, you know, the lead capture that we talked about and also that process of starting a journey right up at the top. You might Have a button that does something similar. You have your headline and your subhead and then you have a series of buttons or just one button that says click here to get started working with us or click here to find out more information. So that's just something that you might kind of, you might copy and paste the wording you already have from your website and ask it to critique it or ask it to improve the wording. So maybe you wrote it and you're not really happy with it, or it just needs a refresh, it needs a, you know, a, a redo, you know, a modernization. Maybe you made it 10 years ago and it just needs a bit of a reboot. Copy and paste it, add it to here and you can see how well it improves that. You can give it a much more complicated prompt and say, I need you to improve it in this specific way. Okay, but that's something that you can do. So we looked at research, we've looked at creating copy. So we've looked at, you know, how to make your headlines, your sub heads and all that sort of stuff. We looked a little bit about prompt engineering, how to get better prompts to improve the wording that it comes out with. So we talked earlier about differentiating your website and the three kind of things that I'm going to point out now. If you ask chat GPT for different ways to differentiate your website, it might churn out 20 different things for you and not necessarily all of those you might want to implement. You might want to try some of it and, and just work out and prioritize which ones are right for you. The three that we're going to talk about, we've already really talked about them. Number one is niching. So the way to differentiate yourself is to have a niche you, you can attract. And people have this kind of oblique objection to niching where they think it's going to shrink the pool of people that they could potentially work with because they're delivering a very specific service and less people it's going to be relevant to. But it actually in a way has the opposite effect because what it does is when you can niche and position yourself as the expert in that very specific area, you can draw more people in from further, from further afield. People want to work with you because you have specific knowledge of their specific industry and their situation and their scenarios. They know that, that if they're in the pet industry and you are a specialist in the pet industry, you're going to have the best information to save them the most tax to to, to help them grow their business. Because it's what you do and you work with hundreds of businesses in that area so they want to work with you. They're much, they're going to value you much more and they're going to be willing to pay a higher price to work with you. So niching is a great way of differentiating yourself as well. When somebody lands on your website and in the website is just very vague. So that very first prompt that we gave it, which one was it? The very first prompt that we, that we gave ChatGPT, the headline that it came up with was streamline your finances with expert bookkeeping solutions. So that's very vague. It, it talks about the benefit and it says that we do bookkeeping, but it's still very vague. It's not drawing out any particular person I could land on that and say, well clearly they do bookkeeping solutions. And that's about as much as I know from that quick glance because people scan and, and skim read. They just scan things very quickly. So sometimes you have very, very little time to grab their attention. And the very first thing the headline should be grabbing their attention. So that was the basic one, was streamline your finances with x expert bookkeeping solutions. And then when we added more information, we now have unleash your pet business's potential with stress free finances. So that title, when somebody lands on that website, they're much more likely to convert, they're much more likely to book an appointment. They want to work with you because they can see that you are appropriate for them and their business. You are the best fit for you for their business because you have the expert knowledge and you work in that industry or whatever it is. It might not be industry, it might be you work with startups or whatever it might be, but they can immediately see that that's somebody that they want to work with. Okay? So niching is really, really important and it helps differentiate your website from other people's. The next thing, which we've already talked about a little bit, I'm going to come off of this for a minute, is lead generation. So.
We want to have something on your website where you can capture people's information and also provide them with value at the same time. So your website might talk a lot about who you are, who you serve, the results you can get. You might have an about me section, you might have a section about the services you know that you provide and all of this really useful information about your business. But going a step further is actually when they Land on your website, you're giving them information that they can take away and do great things with. So you're giving them a free piece of content that is really, really powerful. So having a lead generation system on there, maybe you have like an ebook. So we're looking at the pet industry. You have an ebook that is the top 10 tax saving strategies for pet businesses. And that's something that they can take away and they can look at and it's valuable and they got that from you. So they now associate you with that high value information. So having that, the next thing, the third thing then is having videos on your website. So video is really powerful. We're in the relationship industry and having videos on your website shows who you are and it shows your personality and your enthusiasm and your, your passion for, for whatever it is you're talking about. It gets your personality across as well. So having video on there is really, really powerful. And we can get ChatGPT to help us with that. So.
I've asked it here again, we're in the free version here to create me a script. Now you might notice I, I asked it to not include any cut scenes or kind of stage directions. Whatever else it is, it tends to put that kind of stuff in there. And if you need that direction for your video, that's great, you can leave that in there. But I gave it a prompt to kind of help cut those things out. So the prompt here, and we're following that same formula of the Persona. The what was the order? The. The Persona, the task, the context, the audience and the response format. I've just not put the word next to it. Now it's all encompassed in one prompt. You are an expert salesperson and script. Script writer. Your task is to create a script for a video to add to my website homepage for context. I am a bookkeeper who specializes in working with solo business owners within the pet industry. The video needs to talk about who we help, why we help them and how to help them and what results we can get them. Your response should only include the wording for the video. Do not include stage directions or ideas around the visuals of the video. I simply need the voiceover from you. So I, I just added that bit at the end because it kept giving me some age directions. And then it's come up with a bit of a script for you. So welcome to our company where we specialize in keeping your pet business finances in perfect harmony. Are you, are you a passionate solo business owner within the pet industry striving to make A difference in the lives of our furry companions. We understand the unique challenges you face, from managing expenses to staying on top of taxes, all while providing exceptional care for your client. Okay, so it's given me a full script here. That's something that you might take. Go away and film that really quickly. Just put the camera on yourself and then you can, you know, edit it a little bit, add some music in the background, whatever it is, or send that to a professional to edit that for you and then have that on your website and that will help differentiate you and help you stand out as well. So that's really, really powerful. So next up, let's talk a little bit about SEO, which is search engine optimization. This is how to get your website to rank higher. So we talked earlier about if you have FAQs on your website, the wording on that website is what when people go to type into Google, wherever it is, the wording on your website is what it draws from to see how relevant your webpage is to that question they're asking and bumps you up the order if you are more relevant. So let's say you're coming to this, you're building your own website. You don't really understand SEO. You need to ask it a few questions first. So the first thing I've asked it here on a free version is what things can I do at a basic level to improve my website SEO? So if this is something you're working on yourself, you're a small business, you don't have the team, you can't outsource this, you need to know how to do it yourself. What are the things that I can improve myself? And it's given me a couple of options here. So we can do keyword research to make sure we've got keywords all over the website and within the tags and stuff on the page optimization. So the title tags, the meta descriptions, behind the scenes heading tags, the structure of the URL, so the URL is important as well. And optimizing the content that you have on there. So again, that could be like the FAQs or a blog or something. Optimizing the content that you have on there, making sure it's high quality and it's relevant to what your target audience is asking for so you can optimize the images. Make sure it's friendly for mobile versions, because a lot of people visit your website on a mobile version. Make sure the, the page speed optimizes properly. So we talked earlier about right at the start, the great thing to do for your website is to make sure the user experience is nice and smooth and easy. So make sure it's the page speed optimizes quickly and that's going to boost your SEO. Have internal links within so that that sends them to different places on your website. Quality backlinks as well. So I think this is where somebody clicks on something and then it takes them back to a certain area and it and it all is smooth. Focus on earning natural backlinks through high quality content and outreach efforts. Social media integration as well. So you want to bring your social media into there regularly. All update your content and monitor and analyze your performance as well. So it's given a range of things that you can do there. Now what I would then ask it I've then asked it to say can you give me what keywords might be good to test for a bookkeeping business that specializes in business growth and tax planning within the pet industry? So it's given me a couple of keywords that I can get started with. I've got pet industry bookkeeping, pet business tax planning, pet industry financial management. And what you'll want to do is take these keywords as your starting point and then go and use a different tool like Semrush or Google Keyword Planner or and one of these other SEO tools, but use this as your starting point and then go and see how effective those keywords are and do more research in that way. So Chat GBT on its own is not going to be able to initially help you boost the search SEO, but you can see that it can give you advice on how to go about doing that. It can give you keywords to get started on doing your research. And also if you think to yourself, well I'm using wix, how do I go about changing the metadata behind the scenes? I'm not sure how to do that. You can ask ChatGPT and say I'm using Wix, I need to update my meta tags. How do I do that? And again, if you're using the free version, bear in mind that it's got a January 2022 cut off. But if you're using the paid version and it's using the Internet or either one, it will give you a step by step guide. Go here, click on this button, add your thing here. It will give you a step by step guide on how to do that as well. So if that's something you're struggling with, you can find ways of getting it to help you with that. So let's have a quick look then as well at Design. So I'm just gonna have a quick look. I don't have any questions, so let's keep going. We have a quick look at design. So the, the prompt that I have given it, give me a rough guideline for the layout of my website in terms of design and structure. Give me the top tips for what to do and the order of the different sections. So this is on the free version. I just wanted to give me some design advice. Okay, so it said the layout of your website involves a combination of creativity, user experience considerations and best practices in web design. Here's a rough guideline. So define your purpose and your audience. The homepage design should be clean and uncluttered. Use clear and visually appealing imagery or graphics. Include a concise headline or tagline. Provide easy navigation. So you should have a navigation menu. You should have content sections. So you might have about us. You might have products or services. You might have testimonials and reviews or a blog. You might have a Contact Us page. You have clear call to actions strategically placed throughout your website to encourage user interaction. Make them stand out with contrasting colors, probably using your brand colors if you have those, and clearly communicate you the action you want people to take. We have make sure that the design is responsive if you've got animation and things on there, visual consistency so that it looks the same on all the different pages. Accessibility and obviously optimizing for your SEO and testing things as well. So it's giving me some great information but something that's the next level of powerful that I want to show you how to do this. Now this is on the paid version, but what I've actually done is I've taken a full length screenshot of one of our landing pages. So I've, I've, I've added that entire image in there and asked it for, for a critique on the design that I have. So by the way, just in case you're interested in, in how I did that and got that screenshot, there's a chrome extension which is called Go Full Page. So it's free. You just grab that and then all I have to do is it'll go onto the page I want, want to use it and I just, I click that button and it will grab a screenshot of the entire page I'm on. So if you have a website that's quite long and you can't just grab it all on one, on one kind of screen, you can do so use this extension to grab that big long screenshot which is just a handy little tip. And then I've asked it for. So attached is a screenshot of the registration page for an event we are running. Please assess and critique the design and layout. Suggest any improvements. So it's started by saying visual hierarchy. So you've got a header at the top that clearly states the event's value proposition, which is good. But the text over the image might be a bit difficult to read because we have a busy background. So it's. It seems to think that maybe I should add something behind that to make that a little bit clearer. The call to action. The button stands out, but due to its. Due to its contrast in color, which is effective. However, you might want to move it so that it's located in the center. So I have it here on the right, top right hand corner. Maybe I want to move that to the center. So it's all suggestions. You don't have to do this, but it's all great suggestions. Information segmentation. So the sections are well defined with different backgrounds, but some of the text appears a bit cramped, so maybe you could add more white space. So it's suggesting that maybe I space things out a little bit more. So it's giving me a lot of information. And all I've done is add that screen. Took a screenshot off my website and added it, and it's giving me all this. On this information, you know, about the content that's in there, the color scheme. Make sure you've optimized for mobile. And it's noticed each of these sections and it can read as well what's on that screenshot. So, you know, it's not just kind of looking at shapes and colors, it's reading the wording on there as well and giving me information about the wording that's on there. So rather than going and copy and pasting all the wording, you can just grab a screenshot like that and do it in that way. So that's really, really cool. Really, really powerful.
So that's all the content I've got time to show you for today. I wanted to make sure I fit as much of that in there as possible.
In case you are interested. I'm gonna. I'm gonna actually, I'm gonna have a quick look to see if there are any questions. I haven't really seen any. Come in. Somebody. Oh, Gwendolyn said my stream froze. Can you share the prompt that was used for SEO? Okay, Gwendolyn, let me bring that back up on the screen for you.
So there we go. So the. The prompt I just used for SEO was a really basic one. What things can I do at a basic level to improve my website SEO? And of course, using that structure that we, we talked about earlier, where it's Persona, task context, audience response format, you can improve on that. You can make that a much more complex prompt. But that's just for kind of research purposes. You might think, well, I need to have a look at this. I need to make sure that that makes sense.
But you can make that much more nuanced to find, make it more sense. So hopefully that, hopefully that helps and you can see that now I don't see any more questions. So I just want to end by telling you about an opportunity. If you are interested in learning more about ChatGPT, then we do have an event coming up. So this is, you might, you might recognize this page is the one that I, I used in the chat GBT prompt. I took a screenshot of this page and it gave me all this information.
But you might want to join our AI Virtual summit that we are running for accountants and bookkeepers. We run this a couple of times a year and the last time we ran it was just a couple of weeks ago. And the amount of information that has been updated and changed since then is crazy. Like it was only three or four weeks ago we ran it, but it's going to be all new, fresh content. So if you're interested, you can go and grab a ticket now. If Sarah's here, I think she's going to put the link in the chat for me. If not, actually I do have.
Here, there's the QR code, so you can grab your phone and have a look at that and, and go and grab your ticket. It's on March 27th. If you are a member of our academy, do not buy a ticket. You get one for free. You don't need to do that. If you're a member of the academy, you don't need to do that. So just, you will get an email nearer the time. But if you're interested, you want to learn more about ChatGPT, we're going to be running that. It's over about three hours of content. We're going to be looking at things like this, marketing, but also pricing, also things like data analysis, business advice, you know, more accounting. Specific areas we're going to be looking into in a lot more detail. So if you're interested, you can go check that out. You can go and grab a ticket. So I hope that's been good for everybody. Thank you for all the comments and everything I'M gonna play a bit of music to see you out, and I'll hopefully see you on a live stream soon in the future. Thanks everybody and have a great week.
Sa.
