Surprise medical bills are a massive, massive problem for patients. What is a surprise medical bill? That's when you go to a hospital and you end up going to a doctor or someone who's not in your insurance company's network, meaning they don't have any negotiated prices. And so then you get hit with a bill after the fact for some exorbitant price that is completely unfair and the patient gets stuck with it. The Thankfully, Congress passed the no Surprises Act. And there's something I love about the no Surprises Act. It actually has a hotline, the no Surprise act hotline, with a real live person who will answer your questions seven days a week. I'm going to post an article I wrote about this where I showed a patient I helped a patient save about $1,200 by calling the hotline and then using a template that I wrote that lays out to the hospital, hey, I think that you're in violation of the no Surprises Act. And I called the hotline. They told me this is the kind of case where I could file a complaint. And if you don't correct my bill, I'm going to file a complaint with you. That gives you a lot of leverage as a patient because the hospital does not want the federal government to come in and investigate them for violating the no Surprises Act. So check it out. Check out the link and let me know if you have any questions. Good luck out there.
