A short YouTube tutorial by Mary Kostka demonstrating a quick, adaptable cutting technique for children who are in an early "snipping" stage: cut around a basic shape so that pieces fall away and less-skilled children can participate. The video closes with a second speaker offering encouragement to parents, praising effort and urging small, manageable changes.
Aloha, magnificent moms and dads. Mary Koska here with Ohana ot and I am going to show you one of my favorite quick tips for teaching cutting. So you take your basic shape and then you go around. And as you can see, I've already done most of it. You go around and you cut all the way around. And so now all they have to do is if they're just in the snipping stage and they're not quite ready to turn, they can just snip and the pieces just fall away. And that way you can adapt a craft that is that they're at a more basic level. Other kids are cutting out shapes and they're just snipping and then they can participate in the craft and be successful. This is one of my favorite quick cutting tips. See you in the next video.
Hi again. I am so glad that you took the time to watch this video and I'm really proud of you because I know you're busy and it takes time to sit down and focus and learn something new and just really proud of you. Give yourself a pat on the back. You're going to see this after each video because I just want to reinforce you and just let you know I'm proud of you. And change isn't easy. Some of these things. You hear the idea and then implementing it. We're all habitual, so it's not always easy to do. So just do your best to make little baby steps forward and make little changes that are positive and keep watching. So see you in the next video. Aloha.
