Mary Kostka leads a warm-up song that gets kids' hands ready to write through playful movements: reaching, touching the floor, bouncing, pressing, and moving a pencil from palm to tip. Quick motor prep before handwriting practice.
Aloha, Mary Koska here with Ohana Ot with our how to Improve Handwriting course. And I'm going to show you my favorite little warm up song called Get Ready to Write.
And this is how it goes. Are your hands up high? Can you reach them to the sky? Can you touch him to the floor and do it once more? Can you bounce in your chair with your hands up on your hair? Are your hands up high? Can you press your hands together till you count 2, 4? 1, 2, 3, 4. Press even harder and get ready. 4 more. Put the pencil in the palm of our hands, move it to the tips and do it again. Inch up to the eraser and down to the lead. Do it once more exactly how I said. Tap three times on the table. Flip it if you're able. Now you're ready to write. That's it.
