OhanaOT.com Welcome Video

Mary Kostka introduces Ohana Occupational Therapy, explaining their treatment approach and how family involvement works in therapy. The video covers what services they offer and how to schedule appointments.
Welcome to Ohana Occupational Therapy. We provide a variety of revolutionary treatments and wellness programs including customized therapeutic activities to progress milestones, sensory integration, QRI laser for reflex integration, feeding therapy, social skills groups, therapeutic brushing, integrated listening systems and much more. We are able to specialize the therapy services depending on the complexity of your child's condition. You'll see results and feel more conf after the first session. Most see dramatic changes within 16 visits. Parents and kids love it. During the Discovery Evaluation, an occupational therapist will complete a series of tests, observations and ask questions. The evaluation can be paid out of pocket or by insurance. It's your responsibility to understand what your insurance policy covers and pay at the time of service. Our staff will be able to assist you with the many payment options that are available. At least one parent or guardian is required to be present during the Discovery Evaluation. It is best if both parents are present. If possible. We run on time, so be sure to come 15 minutes early for your appointment so we can complete paperwork, signatures and copy insurance cards. We do things Hawaiian style here, so before entering the clinic we will have you take off your shoes in the lobby. It helps keep our therapy gym clean. However, if this is uncomfortable for you or your child, please let us know and we can accommodate you. No shows are bad. We have many children waiting to be seen, so it is critical that you remember your appointment. We don't do reminder calls, so it is important to take responsibility for using your best strategy for remembering the appointment yourself. Be sure to let us know 48 hours in advance if you are unable to come to your appointment. That way we are able to let someone else have it that needs it. A pattern of arriving late can cause you to be removed from the schedule. Therapy will be provided by one of our highly qualified occupational therapists or certified occupational therapy assistants. During the first therapy session, you will receive the evaluation and we will go over it with you to make sure you understand the findings. We will confirm that the goals specified are the ones you want us to focus on. At least one parent or guardian is required to be present during therapy. We provide a lot of education and ideas and strategies to benefit you at home, school and in the community. With the information you receive from the Ohana Occupational Therapy, you will be the secret ingredient to your child's success. Occupational Therapy is fun. It's hard to leave when you're having so much fun, so we use a visual timer to help. The time beeps when it's time to clean up and put your shoes back on. Be sure to have your next appointment scheduled at the front desk before you go. Thank you for watching. We look forward to seeing you soon. And remember, ohana means family and family means no one gets left behind. We look forward to helping your family thrive.
