A short first-person YouTube monologue by Mary Koska describing how she stays positive during the coronavirus pandemic. She explains launching a 30-day (now extended by 10 days) weekly "Mary Koska's World Challenge", sharing daily positive quotes on her personal Facebook Live, and getting outside daily for sunshine as core habits that help her maintain a positive mindset.
Hey, Amanda. Mary Koska here, and I'm just getting ready for my karate class. And I am, if you don't know me already. I'm the owner and founder of Ohana ot, and Amanda asked me to pop on here and tell you, I don't know, what was it, how I stay positive or something like that through all this coronavirus stuff. For me, it's been pretty simple. Like, as soon as things got pretty unpredictable and kind of weird and crazy, the first thing I did was think about my kids that I'm serving and thought, well, what can I do to make life better for them and for us? And so I decided to commit to doing 30 days of coming on every Tuesday to do Mary Koska's World Challenge. So it's relaxation activity, a body challenge, a balance strength coordination challenge, and then a positive mindset activity. So what that did was it immediately put me in a routine where I had a commitment. No matter, like, what craziness is going on. I knew I was showing up for them. And I would say it probably helped me more than anybody else because I knew what I was doing for the next 30 days. And today was day 30, and I decided I'm going to do 10 bonus days. So if you want to get on there, you can do that. You can also watch the replays. And the other thing that I've done, I've been doing this since about November, is I just pop on my Facebook Live, my personal page, most every day, and just say a positive quote. And that puts me in a positive mindset because I have to think of something decent to say. So even if I'm having really tired or having a crappy day, I have to stop and think, well, what? You know, just say a positive quote, and then that helps me get in a positive mindset. I make sure I get outside every day and get some sunshine. And those are the main things I think that have helped me stay positive through all of this. Hope that helps. Have a great day. Bye.
