Matt Vaadi walks through setting up performance reviews in an HR portal: configuring assessment questions with rating scales or free text, scheduling reminders 30 days and 1 week before reviews, and tracking quarterly goals. Managers view team assessments from a dedicated tab or employee profiles, while employees complete self-assessments and review past periods.

In this video, I'm going to walk you through the manager and self-assessments in the HR portal. I come to the settings logged in as an administrator. I can click on performance and make updates to our performance review process. When I click the edit button, allow me to choose the employee goal tracking, self and manager assessment components, choose when the next review is due, then the frequency of which reviews occur, then allow allow for notifications to be sent to teammates letting them know that their next review is upcoming 30 days out and then once again a week out. I can add questions for the employee to complete as their self-assessment portion. Simply click edit and add question. I can choose text-based questions which allows them to answer in text form or 1 through 5 along with this simple handy 1 through 5 rating scale right here inside the system to help you with your process. I can the manager questions and allow for the manager to review. And once I've got these questions set up and the timing set appropriately, from the manager side, I'm going to view from my team. I can view right here directly inside the assessments tab and click through and perform her assessment here, or I can access it directly from inside the employee's profile. Now let's take a quick look at what the employee sees from their side. When I'm logged logged in as an employee, I simply go to the assessments tab on the left side of my screen, click assessments, and I'll be able to answer my portion of the assessments for the existing period. I have prior periods in here, I'll be able to reference those as well and see my prior assessments. And as an added bonus, if part of my assessment includes goals that need to be tracked on a quarterly basis, I can add the goals that were a takeaway from my quarterly assessment and track those in tandem along with my assessments for the quarter. This is a very practical way to automate your performance management process and simplify it for both you and your team. I hope this was a helpful walkthrough.
