We make all of our decisions this way. Our decisions are being influenced, um, whether we realize it or not, long before we have to make them. And so the objective of a marketer is to deploy something called predisposition, making people know you, like you, and prefer you before they need you, right? And so inbound does this because it, it relies on producing a bunch of content and putting it out there, um, and allowing people to find you and discover your business that way. It takes it one step further by saying, you know, before before a salesperson jumps online to give them a pitch or before you say, "Hey, become a client of ours," it invites somebody to kind of take a half step between not knowing you exist and being ready to buy your services right now, which is, "Oh, maybe I'll follow your content, like our social, subscribe to our insights." So now they can follow you a little bit more and it's a very agreeable transaction because from the business's perspective, there's more people who are paying attention to what you have to say and from the audience's perspective, You're just giving me free value and insights that are designed to help me. Right? And so inbound is a really, really excellent way to practice predisposition. Right? And one of the problems with traditional outbound sales is not that it doesn't work. Of course it can work. It does. But obviously you know it's a numbers game and you know that cold calling is less and less effective. One of the problems with traditional outbound is just because you can get the attention of a decision maker. Right, and you can get them on the phone or schedule a meeting with them, right? Just because you have something that you want to sell to them or think you could sell to them doesn't mean that they feel they're in the position to buy.
