AI Agents: Same Tech, New Frontier? #shorts

Building AI agents today is like earlier automation work: wiring components and passing data between services. The impact is bigger, but the workflow is the same. Most organizations just use GPT outputs while a small group builds and customizes agents, repeating the pattern seen with Zapier.

I was talking to somebody earlier today who I've coached over the years, and I was telling them like the person that was doing Zapier 10 years ago and maybe NNs like 5 years ago is the person who's building an AI agent with Cloud Code today. All right. It's like we're still wrangling like bricks of technology and like babysitting them and like monitoring them and like passing data from one place to the other. Sure, you have more impact, but when you look at the work we do, the way we do it, and what kind of work we apply it to, it is surprisingly similar. We're still like trying to build better outbound campaigns and better ad campaigns and like better websites and like all that marketing surface area, need less people, you're more effective, probably better output, but also the expectations have risen over the years, right? And so like everyone's doing better, same person, right? And surprisingly though, everybody's using AI, you could also say no one's using AI at the same time because like I keep talking to a lot of like prospects and portfolio companies and teams where they haven't touched like AI agents Really, like sure, they've used GPT, that's about it, right? They haven't done anything meaningful there. And you, I build stuff for them. I show them the output. And you know what's surprising? They're happy with the output. And you would wonder like, don't they want to learn how to do it? No, they're happy with the output. The output's good enough. And it is the same thing that I saw years ago with Zapier or things like that where people were like, look at us, built all those workflows and they were like, this is great. Thank you for building it. Moving on. Right? And so that's the telltale for me that you still have the same very small population that are technologists, technology lovers that are willing to invest, spend time, learn and build, and the rest of the population who isn't.
