Matthew Hussey here with Love Life. I am super excited about today's show because we have a great topic to discuss. But first, I have a question for you. If I told you there were five things you could say to get a man positively addicted to you, would you try them? If the answer is yes, then be sure to listen until the end of today's show because I'm gonna tell you how you can get your hands on those five magic phrases. Now let's get to the episode. Me and Jameson were recently auditioning people for a stupid video we were doing. We did a 50 Shades of Grey spoof where we cast women for the role of, is it Anastasia? I think that's her name. We cast women for the role of this. And I wrote down some of the things that I noticed were really important. And some of them are gonna be so obvious to you, and some of them might not be so obvious. so let's race through them. Firstly, handshake. It was amazing to me that when the awful handshakes came along, I immediately didn't want to work with that person because somewhere in my mind, I said, if this person can't give me a firm handshake, I don't know how they can do anything in life. So. So as harsh as that sounds, it was absurd. It's. It's still absurd to me that someone can't give a firm handshake. I don't get it. Obvious, but true. The second one, energy. What was the energy of the person when they walked into the room? There was one person in particular who came in kind of low energy, didn't smile, and almost came in with this look of, I don't like you. and immediately from that place, it felt very difficult to imagine working with that person. You always have to, I'm asking myself the question in that situation, do I want to work alongside this person? Is this going to be easy or fun or enjoyable? And if the answer is no, it almost doesn't matter how good they are. You're still predisposed to say no to them in that moment because of their energy. The next thing, that came across. We were asking them at the end of the audition, do you have any questions? Now, I have in the past been guilty of being on that side of the table. And when someone asks me, do you have any questions about this project or whatever it is? I say, no. I now realize that that was an error because when I was sat auditioning people and Jameson would ask someone, Jameson, for those of you that don't know, is my infamous cameraman and director. he would ask people, do you have any questions? And when they said no, I was immediately turned off because either I thought they're not interested or they haven't really read anything about us and what we're trying to do, or they're, they're just arrogant. But it immediately, I was frustrated. I wanted them. They didn't even have to have a question. At least if they just had an opinion, I would have loved it if they just said, you know what? I've thought about that line you put. And that was really interesting because blah, blah, blah. Even if they just had an opinion. It would have helped me want to choose them. The next thing, this is an obvious one, bad breath. Just fix it. You know, we have the technology these days. We have chewing gum, we have toothpaste. It's amazing how someone who's so lovely and sweet and wonderful, have you ever developed like an irrational hatred for someone close to you just because they have bad breath? I don't want that to happen to you or to me or to anyone else. So, Fix that one. The last thing was, do they show enthusiasm for the project? I think people sometimes forget that when they're being interviewed, either for a job or for a part or for whatever it may be, the person on the other side of the table has an ego. And their feelings can get hurt just as badly as yours can by rejecting the offer. Their feelings can get hurt if they think that you're not really into what they're offering. So there was one person who read the script and at the end of the audition, she said to me and Jameson, she said, I just want to let you know I loved the script. I was reading it with my friend and we were both crying, laughing. It's so funny. You guys did such a great job. And in that moment, she was the only person all day who had actually given us a compliment on it. So don't be so worried about doing a good job yourself that you forget to make the other person on the other side of the table feel great. So that's it. We have those were five, I just counted, five techniques for making an impact when you immediately go into the room to get an audition or an offer for a job or anything of that nature. Thank you for participating. Go use them. By the way, you can just use them on a date and it will make a difference or use them when you go and meet someone in a bar or anywhere else. these things will make a difference. Well, I made you a promise at the top of the show that I would reveal five things you could say to get a man addicted to you, and it's time to deliver.
