Hey, everybody, it's Matthew Huss with the Love Life Podcast. I am excited to share this clip with you today. Let's get into it. I don't believe in settling for, I believe in settling on. When you settle on something, you resign yourself to making that thing great. Now, we can't settle on anything in life. We can't settle on anyone in life. I certainly wouldn't be telling you to settle on someone who's abusive, and I certainly wouldn't be telling you to settle on someone with whom you have absolutely zero sexual chemistry, or with whom you have nothing in common, with whom you have completely opposing life outlooks. that aren't compatible. I don't believe that you can settle on any profession in a company that has a culture of assholes or in work that is completely devoid of meaning to you or doesn't cater to a single aspect of your personality or strengths or what you might be interested in. But do I think you can settle on many more careers than you ever truly acknowledged. I absolutely do. So the antidote to that feeling of, oh my God, there's not enough time and there's so much to do, and if I truly understand that there isn't time, then I have to start making real choices. instead of just trying to mindlessly cram it all in, I need to start making real decisions. The good news, the antidote to that, is that those decisions aren't the end of the world. Because when we settle on something, which by the way can change, but when we settle on something, as long as that thing, and this is where I bring the retreat back to you, as long as that thing has the potential to meet enough of our criteria.
We.
Can be happy sculpting that thing. But great relationships are sculpted and great careers are sculpted and they don't start perfect and the expectation that I'm supposed to walk into it and it's supposed to feel like that instantly in every way, that's the part that makes us incredibly unhappy. That's the part that makes us endlessly search for a feeling instead of bringing bringing a certain feeling, bringing a certain intensity to our lives. Hey everyone, before you leave this episode, don't forget we have the virtual retreat date set for November. It's the last one of the year.
