This is Love Life. I am your host, Matthew Hussey, and I am so glad you're here that I wanted to do something special for you today. Since I get asked so many questions about texting, I've decided to put together a free guide for you called the Nine Magic Texts no Man Can Resist. One of the things that I have had a mild obsession with for as long as I can remember is understanding how people have impact. And I focus so much on this because I'm a big believer in the idea that if you know more about people and if you know more about how to influence people, the world can be your oyster. And for me, that's everything. Life is hard work plus influence. If you don't have influence, you can work as hard as you want and you'll never get what you deserve. So I've been focusing on this for a long time. And the reason I'm saying this today is because I was recently on the Elvis Duran show and I actually went on in sweatpants. It really looked like this morning when I went on, it looked like I'd given up. Like, I went on in a T shirt and sweatpants and I sat down and the first thing that Elvis Duran and the other presenters said to me as I walked in, they were like, whoa, look at these sweatpants today. Like, remember when Matt first came in and he was all done up and he was wearing a shirt and now he's just. He's just come in in sweatpants. He really doesn't care anymore. And we. There was this joke to begin with that I then led straight into a story about the plane journey I'd just been on, because I'd just been on a red eye plane to New York in order to do the show. And I launched into this story using the Segway of my sweatpants and spent the next three minutes telling a story that, if I don't say so myself, had everyone laughing uncontrollably. I was extraordinarily funny and charming and charismatic. And my brother, of all people, called me up while I was in New York. He called me up after listening to the interview and he was like, I see you. I know what you were doing there. That's not. This was not something that you just went on and spontaneously did. I know you. I know, like, because he's seen me mastering Impact for years, he knows that I do this stuff consciously. And he said, you didn't just go on and spontaneously talk about it on the Elvis Duran show? I said, no. He said, so what did you do? I said, well, as soon as the story happened, I started writing about it on my iPad. I took out my iPad and I started writing the details of the story. And he goes, send me that picture. So I sent him a screenshot of my iPad, and it had all of these disjointed thoughts about the story that had just happened. In other words, I had predetermined already that I was going to talk about this, and I already had it constructed in my mind in a way that I knew would trigger laughter and trigger fun and create an energy as soon as it happened. Happened. In other words, what my brother picked up on that no one else did is that I was always going to tell that story in the first three minutes, no matter what happened. And this is something that's incredibly important for people to recognize about impact. Because when people think about influence, when people think about charisma, when they think about how to create what you want in situations, they often think that people are either naturally charismatic, who. Or that they're spontaneous in their funny stories and their jokes, or that it somehow just comes naturally to them. They don't have to work on it. And I'm here to tell you, and I'm only saying this right now because my brother wrote something of an expose on me that he showed me out of respect to my brother. He showed me it, and he said, I want to release this to people because I want them to stop talking about how talented you are and start recognizing that what you're doing is something that is predetermined and premeditated. And if they understand that about you, then not only will I stop having to read these bloody comments, but at the same time, they'll see that they can do it for themselves. And I read what he wrote, and it was incredible. It literally broke down step by step. What I was doing and what I told him on the phone, I was doing during that interview. And the reason I'm telling you about it now is because I want you to see these steps that he broke down, because I've just given you the first one, the first big one is preparation. All right? And by the way, in the piece that he's written. There's actually the screenshot, the real screenshot of everything that I wrote. So you'll be able to compare that with the interview when you listen to it, because I'm releasing them both together. But you'll also see a series of other things that I did that he pointed out. And it is going to be fascinating for you because it's going to dispel those myths about those people that you see who you think just have this charm and charisma. You're actually going to see what it is they're doing so that you can break it down for yourself and start using it today and stop thinking that other people have something else that you don't. Trust me, I'm not a very funny guy, but having this stuff enabled me to be humorous, to be funny, to tell a great story, to be charismatic, to take an interview like that with, you know, Elvis Dran is an exceptional presenter and someone who's been in the business for many, many years. But I can still go on there and hold my own with that person and hold court because of the techniques that I'm about to teach you.
