Big Sioux River Flooding 7/30/2010

This is a 40, 49th and 29th that's flooded. This is the big sioux river on ox. On 49th and about oxbow. This is the bike trail at 57th Street. Obviously the trail is closed. This is at western in the big sioux river. It's on 57. See between the trees would be where the bike trail would be at. Obviously not there Right now. Coming up on Yankton Trail Park. Looks like. Like it's closed. Second. There's the bike trail. Big Sioux. The road's flooded. Gonna try to make it over to the Dog Trail park. I heard that it's up to the shelter roof. So I'm trying. Going over there now. Minnesota, this is on Minnesota. One of the parks. You know the second half of Yankton show park is right here. There's the KDOT van down. Got some branches floating. There's a bike trail. You can see the little bridge thing floating up. Obviously going to stay underwater for some time. This is the dog park. You can look right in the middle there. You can see that the shelter is almost up to the roof in terms of water. Ridiculous. Probably about the worst putting I've ever seen. Over at Cuthill, not much better. But as we get over there. But unless I've got a raft for my bike, that ain't gonna happen. Just over a little bit more by Tuthill Park. See that's where the bike trail would be. We'll follow along just a little bit. Next I think I'm gonna try to bike down to Falls park and can see from there that's almost like a little bit of smoke over there. Wow. Here's some more of the bike trail. I'm on 229 on right up at Cliff. All right. Now I'm downtown by the Statue of David. You can see the river. It's over the bike trail. Not quite up on the sidewalk yet but it's definitely a lot higher than it normally is here. On a bike trail. On a bike trail kind of by 12th and then McDowell's on cliff. I'm gonna go on this as long as I can until it's butted out. I'm gonna guess that'll happen pretty quickly. It. Okay, so if this has a clearance of 7 foot 4 inches, looks like it's maybe 3 inches. So we've got about 4 foot of water over the trail right now. Slowing pretty quickly. That it's not something I'd want to get stuck in. Alright, keep going until you get down to Forest Park. Obviously not on a bike trail. All right. Here we are at upper falls park. Water's moving a lot faster than, you know, normally would. So let's keep going. Back in business. Happened twice today. It's. The road gets barricaded. See, the main falls are way higher than normally would. Normally. You can tell rocks can stand on. There's got to be some kind of record. All right, we're up on the observation deck. Kind of get a big view. The main falls right there. Our fuel power plant. Queen female. You know, I'm. The other place you can walk on is just flooded. Got it barricaded down there. Got the jsfy guy down there. It's quite the view. All right. Here's some more of the big Sioux river cross park over there. And it goes along the bike trail, which probably inaccessible right here. Much higher than it usually is. Going really quickly. It. All right. I'm at the zoo. Looks like there's some flooding a little bit. The buffalo is over there. Got some water. And here's the river. Not so bad over here, but looks like it's mostly in Lincoln county. Looks like the country club. They got some footing, too. See over there, they got some. If you've been out here before, behind this little barricade that's obviously flooded, that was completely empty. Now pumping water out of it. Obviously it went over the ledge and it's full of water now. So that'll take them a while to clean up. More of the country club. They tried to pump out some water right there into the river. It.
