Commanding our body to change habits, mindset and emotional state

In this instructional video, success coach Mayur Bardolia explains how the mind’s verbal commands direct the body, and how precise language can reshape habits, mindset, and emotional states. He demonstrates the "law of concentrated attention" with a simple pencil‑holding exercise: repeatedly saying "I can drop the pencil" prevents the drop, whereas saying "I am dropping the pencil" makes it fall instantly. The core insight is that phrasing intentions as "I am" (identity‑based) rather than "I can" (possibility‑based) creates a stronger, automatic response. Bardolia provides four scripted affirmation sets—confidence, energy/vitality, social skills, and creativity—each presented in both "I can" and "I am" forms, inviting viewers to notice the differing emotional impact. He encourages self‑observation after each script, recommends applying the technique to any desired life area, and offers personal coaching, workshops, and speaking engagements through North Star Angel Coaching, providing contact information for further assistance.

Commanding our body to change habits, mindset, and emotional state. Your body follows the order of your mind. When you say something to your body, it follows it. But you need to know what to say and also how to say it. People want to change their habits, mindset, and emotional states by using positive affirmations and self-talk. It works, but only if you do it correctly. So I teach many techniques on how your words Can impact your mind, and how the mind then directs your body using those words. In this video, I'm sharing one of the exercises or techniques so that you can do what you want more effortlessly and confidently. If you do what you learn from this video, you will learn how our body follows the command. Of our mind, and as I said, your body follows the order of your mind. There are several ways you can easily demonstrate this for yourself. So I encourage you to do the following exercise that I'm going to share with you and observe what happens. You will need a pencil. Or any other object of similar size and shape. Hold it between your thumb and first finger as shown here. Okay? Catch the pencil just like this. Stare at the pencil intently and say, I can drop it. I can drop it. I can drop it. Say these words repeatedly with no interruption. During the time you are repeating the sentence over and over in this manner, you can try to drop the pencil, but you will find that you cannot. In fact, the harder you try to drop it, The tighter your fingers will grasp it. It is impossible for you to drop the pencil if you are thinking the phrase as instructed over and over without interruption. I cannot, I can, I can, I can drop this pencil. This is of course a demonstration of the law of concentrated attention. You are saying I can, not I am. Change the words to I am dropping the pencil. I am dropping this pencil. And it drops at once. So when you say I can do this or I can do that, you're choosing to take action. Or not taking an action. It may work sometimes, but there is a powerful and even better way to do what you intend to do. When you say, I can do this, you are focusing on trying to do it or creating a possibility to do it. So you have the option. Of doing it as well as not doing it. You will try to do it, but that does not have much power in it. Instead, if you say, I'm doing it, you're most probably going to do it. Because when you say, I am, you're shifting your identity. You're shifting from action into identity. When you do something by identifying yourself doing it, you will effortlessly do it. Let me give you an example. I would like you to do something with me, and I'm going to show you different scenarios and how a shift from I can or I can try to I am And it will change the way you feel dramatically. So both scenarios are positive, but the impact of each— I can or I will try versus I am— is very different. Especially when you use a commanding tone, an enthusiastic tone, it makes a huge difference. At the end of each example and scenario, I would ask you to take your time and notice how you feel. You can pause if you want to after each scenario so you can feel the power and impact of each scenario. So do this exercise with me the way I say and I do. Let's say you want to feel confident. Notice how you feel when you say, I can be more assured and more confident in every situation. I can be increasingly aware of my abilities and my potential. I can see myself as a worthy and capable person. My self-esteem can grow every day, and I can feel the rise of inner power. Take your time and notice how you feel. Take a moment to notice how you feel. Now, how do you feel when you say something like this? I am more self-assured and I am more self-confident in every situation. I am increasingly aware of my abilities and my potential. I see myself as a worthy and capable person. My self-esteem grows every day. I feel the surge of inner power. Take a moment to notice how you feel. Another example of the situation is if you're feeling tired, fatigued, or not having energy to do anything. Say with me, I can feel more energy and vitality each and every day. Even at the end of the day, I can remain fresh and full of enthusiasm for life. I can take care of my body. I can produce more work now with less consumption of energy than ever before. I can have a supply of physical and mental resources that is seemingly limitless. Take a moment to notice how you feel. I produce more work now with less consumption of energy than ever before. I am having a supply of physical and mental resources is seemingly limitless. Take a moment to notice how you feel. Another example is if you want to have improved social skills, if you want to have confidence to meet people comfortably, say this with me. I can see myself meeting with other people. I can notice that I am more relaxed and friendly, listening to their names and making it a point to repeat their names several times as I talk with them. When I have opportunities to participate in activities with others, or even when I am asked to share responsibility in a group, I can accept with pleasure, and when time permits, I can participate with enthusiasm. I can grow my social confidence every day, or day by day. I can feel more and more comfortable with others. In times of stress or conflict, I can try to remain inwardly calm and seek ways to neutralize negative influences so that I will be effective in promoting constructive relationships. I can be proud of my ability to relate myself and my ideas to the interests and needs of others. Take a moment to notice how you feel. If you want new ideas, solutions, and a new way of doing things, or to use the power of your imagination, Say this with me. I can tap into the powers of my subconscious and become aware of my abilities and talents. I can bring these talents to the surface. I can create periods of inspiration at will whenever I want. My creative force can be strong and ideas come to me easily and freely. Any dormant abilities that I may have can steadily emerge from my subconscious so that I can use them whenever I can. Take a moment to notice how you feel. Now, how do you feel when you say, I am pleased to be tapping the power of my subconscious and becoming aware of my abilities and talents? I am increasingly able to bring these talents to the surface. I am able to create periods of inspiration Whenever I want. My creative force is at work, and ideas come to me easily and freely. Any dormant abilities that I may have are steadily emerging from my subconscious so that I'm going to use them whenever I command. Take a moment to notice how you feel. So as you might have noticed, just changing a word from I can to I am. Choose a different scenario, an aspect of your life where you want to feel better. You can improve any of your emotional state, habit. And mindset using the same exercise you learned in this video. You just need to change the words from I can to I am. This is the exact exercise I use in my personal coaching with my students. You can do it too, and I highly recommend that you you do it. If you need any help in doing it, you can reach out to me. Share your feedback with me. If you benefit from this video, please recommend it to someone who can benefit from it. Please share it far and wide.
