In this 2013 YouTube talk, life‑coach Mayur Bardolia explains how tiny shifts in everyday language can dramatically alter mindset, motivation, and outcomes. He introduces himself as a counselor, NLP master practitioner, and hypnotherapist, then walks through a series of word pairs that he calls “magic words.” First, he shows how replacing the limiting conjunction “but” with the expansive “and” opens up possibilities and reduces self‑imposed constraints. Next, he contrasts “should” (a vague obligation) with “I will” (a firm commitment) and then with “I’m going to” and “I’m really going to,” arguing that each progressive step intensifies intent and confidence. Throughout, he provides concrete self‑talk examples (e.g., studying for an exam, preparing for a business meeting) to illustrate the mental shift. He encourages viewers to experiment with these substitutions in daily communication, notice the change in internal motivation, and adopt the more empowering phrasing. The video ends with a call to action, directing viewers to his websites for articles, coaching services, and further training.

Hello, my name is Mayur Bardolia. I'm working as a life coach, counselor, NLP master practitioner, and the hypnotherapist. Today I'm going to talk to you something about some few words which can affect your life very much. Actually, I didn't pay much attention to those words before, but suddenly when I was having a business coaching session with one of my clients, And I just heard few words from them. And I thought, you know, this, this words plays a really big role in how we see things, situation, and circumstances in our life. And, you know, I'm going to tell you and share those words with you, and be very, very careful while you use those words. Those words are so, you know, so ordinary, so small, it makes a huge difference. So hope you're excited to, you know, learn more about this. So let's see what's the first word. So here we go. The first word is but. B-U-T. But now what's wrong with this word? In fact, when we are communicating with ourselves, you know, we always communicate, you know, with others or, you know, to ourselves. And when, when we are awake Now, when you use but, you are limiting the possibilities of your ideas, your thoughts, and your dreams maybe. Now, let's take an example. You want to do a lot of things. You might be saying to yourself, oh, I got loads of opportunities around. I got so many things to do. Now notice the difference. Notice what's going on inside your body, inside your brain. I got lots of things to do, but I don't know how to do it. But I don't know what people will say. But what, what if I fail? Now notice the difference. It's actually, you know, you're trying to limit your abilities. Now instead of using but, I give you a different magic word which is and. A-N-D. Now how can, you know, a small word can make a big difference? I'll show you. When you use and, you are trying to create more possibilities. You are actually trying to find more resources. Actually, your mind will help you out to find more possibilities. Let's take an example. You want to do a lot of things and you want to get done, you know, so many tasks. Now when you say, oh, I want to do a lot of things, I got so many opportunities around me, and I will find out what resources I can use, and I will see how to make it happen, and I will find out what other ways, you know, to make it happen. And what if I fail? And if I fail, I will try and try and try harder, and I find out what works and what doesn't work. And simply, you learn by failures. So there you go. Try not to use the word but. Use the word and instead. Good, isn't it? Another classic, you know, word, you know, people most probably use and it's destined to fail, which is, oh, I think I should do it. I should, you know, work harder. I should, you know, take this opportunity. Uh, you know, I should do a lot of preparation on it to, you know, in order to be successful. Now what is happening, you know, it's okay to use the word should, right? Notice what words, you know, people are using. Should, S-H-O-U-L-D. Now I would like to give you different words and notice how you feel inside. And you just need to, you know, play around with these words, you know, in your daily communication and spot the difference in how you respond to situation. Now, instead of using I should do, use I will do, and notice how you feel. I will, you know, make it happen. I will find some ways to make it happen. I will take this opportunity. Now, there's something wrong with this word too. Now, you might be, you know, seeing some, you know, increase in your motivation to do, you know, those things which you are— which you are— what you are supposed to do, what you are thinking for a long time to do. But you are not doing it. So try to use I will. Now let me give you another one. Try to use the word I'm going to. Yes, I am going to do. Now try to use in your communication. I'm going to do this task. I'm going to finish this task. I'm going to take this opportunity. I'm going to convert this opportunity Into result. Now see the difference. It's a very small word. I'm going to. You want to see a real magic now? Try to use the word. I'm really going to do this. I'm really going to go for it. I'm really going to make it happen. Did you see the difference in your motivation from the word should to will to Going to, I'm really going to. Did you see the difference? Try to, you know, make, you know, turn it into the sentence. Let's take an example. And suppose if you're facing an exam and you say, oh, I should sit and study, I will sit and study, I'm going to sit and study, I'm really going to sit and study and work hard. Suppose if you're going for a business meeting, oh, I think I should, you know, take this opportunity. I will take this opportunity. I'm going to take this opportunity, and I'm really going to take this opportunity and become successful. So hope you enjoyed today's video, and notice, try to use word really going to.
