Master Figma's Auto Layout to get better at vibe coding. It mirrors web development's layout principles, giving you a vocabulary to diagnose broken layouts and write better prompts for AI tools.

The fastest way to get better at vibe coding isn't learning how to prompt, it's learning auto layout. I know that sounds backwards, but auto layout in Figma is literally based on how front-end code works. The same rules that govern every div container and layout on the web, they're all right there in the auto layout panel. So when you learn how elements stretch, how they stay fixed, how they hug contents, how containers nest inside of other containers, you're not just learning Figma, you're learning about how code works with layout on the front end. Designers are vibe coding entire their apps right now, and when the layout breaks, and it will, most of them have no idea what's actually wrong. They're just prompting into the ether. The AI says, oh, you're absolutely right, let me adjust that, and it never comes out right. Not because the AI is bad, but because you don't know what questions to ask. You don't know the vocabulary for what's broken. Auto Layout can give you that vocabulary. It makes the invisible rules visible, and once you see them in Figma, you can see them everywhere else. In your code, in your prompts, and every layout that breaks.
