Hello, friends, and welcome to Grief Guts and Green Smoothies. I am your host, Melissa Dugalecki, and I am so excited to be here with you all to chat about ways in which we can all get through different adversities, challenges and loss, and how getting outside of our comfort zone and maybe having a green smoothie or two can help us do so. We will cover different topics, ranging from interviews to recipes, to sharing my own stories of my grief journey and the loss of my daughter, Layden. Honored to be able to share her light in hopes of helping you spread yours. Now, let's dive in. You guys are in for a treat today. I am so thrilled to introduce my friend, Pharaoh. I met Pharaoh out in LA through other friends and I think that really just speaks and inspires for me to share that power of getting out there and expanding your networks. Like, where can you expand what. Where can you create new relationships? Where does that new relationship lead to? Other new relationships? And how are we, like, becoming stronger in the way that we connect with people? Right? Because it's in doing that that we learn, that we grow. And, you know, Pharaoh is so inspiring. And had I not taken a leap in connecting and getting out of my comfort zone, you know, about two years ago, I wouldn't have met him. Right. And so I share that to just encourage you. Like maybe today after you listen to this, you go and decide to reach out to someone. You join a new community, you get a little uncomfortable, you have a conversation, you ask someone how they're doing without knowing what it's going to lead to, but just staying open to possibility, right? Always open to possibility, detached from outcome. And so you guys are going to hear from Pharaoh now. And what I will say is, when I met him, it struck me immediately, he has this strong force, this powerful presence, and a very calm, a very grounded, a very centered energy. It's this beautiful contrast, right, between this strength and this power, right? This strong, strong energy. And then this gentleness, this centered, this groundedness, this knowingness. And he's been through a lot and he's turned all of that into growth continually. He's going to talk a lot about goal setting, manifesting, getting things done, turning pain into power. I cannot wait for you to hear from him. So it is my absolute pleasure to introduce Farrow Pharaoh. Thank you so much. I'm so excited to have you join us on Greek Guts and Green Smoothies and introduce you and your amazing work and your story to the community. Thanks for being here.
Thank you so much. It's a blessing. It's an honor. Thank you for allowing me to come and share.
And I'm so grateful. I mean, I really believe. And, you know, my audience knows I talk a lot about the universe and aligning paths and journeys. And, you know, my daughter Layden, and work I do now led me to la. And that's where I met you, in la and through the work that I'm doing with, you know, people that were mutually connected with. And you're just. Your energy was so vibrant. It's so strong, yet calm.
Thank you. Yeah.
And I was just right when I met you, I'm like, I gotta introduce him to this audience. So I'm just so thrilled that you're here.
Thank you. Thank you. I'm looking forward to it. I'm excited. Yeah.
Before we get into your story, all the amazing work you're doing, I always have a really important question I like to ask the guests, and that is, what is your favorite kind of taco?
My favorite taco? Well, I'm vegan, so there's this place here in LA called Stage, and they have these raw tacos that are phenomenal. It's a walnut, sun, dried tomato, spice mixed together, and it's so phenomenal. That is my favorite taco. And me, I love fitness and working out. So I have this thing where it's like, I love to keep my abs all year, so if I'm gonna do a taco, I'm gonna do a lettuce leaf with it instead of the tortilla.
I love that I am there in a week. I have not been to Sage, so that is definitely gonna be on my list now.
It's awesome. It's awesome.
Well, you know, you have such an incredible journey with your health, with your fitness, with your spirituality. And, you know, for those listeners tuning in who aren't familiar with the work that you're doing, can you just, you know, let them know who you are and how you started and what you do?
Wow. Okay. So my name is Pharaoh, and my story really started my healing journey. I'm going to put it like that. My healing journey started in 2011, so about nine years ago, and I was one. I grew up in the church, so. Very, very familiar with religion, very, very familiar with God and having faith. But it got to this point and I was like, 25, about 25 years old. And it got to this point where everything in my life was going wrong. Had just got released from a job, didn't have any money. And beyond that, I know all of us, we felt this time in our lives where purpose was starting to call, where it was this inner urge to do something and this knowing this, that I'm supposed to be doing something great with my life, but I don't know exactly what it is and I don't necessarily know how to get started. So when that happens, when we don't have that clarity, what usually breeds in for us is this frustration. So I was in this super frustrated place because I felt like I was supposed to be doing better and I didn't know how to get there. So I remember it was 2011 and I had a conversation with God because like I said, I grew up in the church, so I know how to pray. But I had this conversation. I said, you know what? I don't know what I believe and why I believe it, God, but I do believe that you're real. So I'm going to throw everything that I know about you out the window. And I want to start seeing what is real and who you are for myself. And oh my God, I prayed that prayer and that's when things started to happen. So I remember, again, remember I was in this place where I didn't know what my next move was financially or. Or spiritually. So I remember I was just googling. I was just googling. So I went and googled. I'm like, man, how do you become successful? Or how to change your life through faith? And I stumbled across this video and it was with Will Smith. And Will Smith was talking about this book called the Alchemist. And it's amazing because as I'm sitting there hearing and listening to him, he started talking about the law of attraction and how he believes, just like the Alchemist, that once you set your mind to something, the universe conspires in your favor to help bring it to path. You don't have to have all the answers. You don't know how to. You don't have to know how to get there. You just have to believe and take that step. So I say, you know what? That's what I'm going to do. So since Google was working in my favor, I decided to start researching some people that I really admire to see if they had any common threads. So I looked up people that in my opinion, changed the course of the world. So I looked up Gandhi, I looked up Jesus, I looked up Buddha, I looked up Steve Jobs, who was very big at the time. All of these different people who just changed the face of the world at their period of time and they left their market history. And one thing that I started to notice is that all of these people, when it came a time like a Steve Jobs who he didn't know the next answer, direction in business or Jesus or Buddha, when they're really going to step into another area of their ministry or really embark in memory, they were going to these fasts, they were going these periods of being alone. So what's interesting is I said it has to be something to this sitting down and just focusing. But what is this fasting? So what happened was I started to research and fasting. It's this place and it's this time. You know, obviously it's the abstinence of food, but what it does is it is a step of manifestation where you're able to put your faith into action and you tell the universe and you tell God or the Creator that you know what I'm willing to put on the line, everything that I know about survival, like which is eating and nourishment, put all that on the line because I want something more. And when you're able to do that action with an intention, things start to happen. So I said, you know what? I'm going to try this. I'm going to try this. I remember it was Christmas 2011, it was the last time I ate meat. And another thing that I said is I was going to switch my diet so I was going to become a pescatarian. But Christmas 2011, I said, you know, I'm going to feast, I'm going to go ahead and eat this meal and after that I'm going to go on this three day fast. Because I remember I was so lost, but the desire for change was so strong. I told God, I said, if I have to die to change my life, then I'm going to do that. And I went on this three day water fast and it really changed my life. But before that, let me tell you what happened a couple of days before this Christmas. Remember I wanted to get this alchemist, this book, right? I wanted to read this book. But I had already decided I'm going to go on this fast. But I needed to buy this book and I didn't even have the money. It was like probably 12 bucks from Amazon to buy the book. I was like, man, I don't even have that money right now. I'm not going to get paid until after Christmas with the money that I was going to have coming in. But I had a friend who actually he was an Atlanta Falcon, so he's a football player. He invited me to this party. He was like, man, come on Everything's paid for you and be good. And I was like, you know what? Everything's going to be free, so I'm just going to go and hang out. And in his section, I met this woman I had never ever, you know, seen before in my life. We started talking. She would go on these mission trips. And I told her, you know what? I have a heart to serve. I want to be able to do something like that eventually. And she said one of the things that inspired her was this book called the Alchemist. And I was like, you know what? Oh, my God. I had just. I just watched the interview with Will Smith. I really want to get that book. I'm going to be getting it soon. And she was like, you know what? Give me your address, give me your phone number. I want to be the one to sold this into your life. Because that book changed my life. So she went ahead and she ordered that book into my fast. I ended up getting that book and was able to read it on my fast. And that was the beginning of me seeing how when you put your faith in actions, things start to change. So from that time, 2011, going until 2012, I got a job. I met a mentor who started mentoring me in business. And I remember at this time, I'm about 26 years old, and I set this crazy goal because I said, you know, I want to see if this really works. So I got a job. I feel like I'm moving forward in life. I have a mentor teaching me about business. I. I'm studying, learning about chakras, which I never heard about before, which were completely. And this is one thing that was so important for me to learn is on this road to learning who we are, we have to unlearn a lot of things so we can relearn the truth. So growing up in the church chakras or meditation or chanting like ohms, none of that stuff was looked at favorably. It was kind of looked on down, looked down upon. But as I start to really connect to it, it started to change me from the inside out. And I had never, ever been able to experience something that really was able to change my character. And throughout this process, I started to learn that that is the real value. Anybody can become successful, anybody can get, become wealthy. But how many people can genuinely be kind? Like genuinely be kind when people are being mean, when you have every right, when everyone around you will say, you know what, it's okay to go off on that person because you know what, they treated you so unfairly and you decided to take that higher path. That's what it's about, personal power. So I started developing character, and then I started liking it. I started becoming more patient, all of these things. And within that, within the scope of all those things, I set this crazy goal for me, which was I said, you know what? By the time I turn 30, man, I want to make a million dollars. I want to make a million dollars. So at this point, I was 26 years old. Remember, I had this business mentor that had met. He owned a pizza restaurant. So while I was on this health journey, remember, I became a pescatarian. I said, you know what? I'm going to start a fitness business. That's like the first thing that I really ventured out on my own since I was a child. When I was a child, I had a lawn care service. And I said, you know, I'm gonna start a fitness business. I had gotten to the gym. People always ask me if I trained all these things. So I said, you know, I'm try it. So I remember I said a prayer, because prayer has been working for me up until this point. I said a prayer. I said, God, like, if this is the path I should take, have somebody today approach me and say, hey, do you train? And I kid you not, the day I said that prayer, before the end of the day, somebody asked me that question. And then I didn't even really believe it yet. So I remember a couple days later, I was like, well, if this wasn't a chance, right? This really was. You got to send somebody else. And somebody else asked me to train. So then I actually ran into a friend that I knew who had a training company. He said, listen, if you really want to start, I'm going to take you under my wing. I'm going to train you and tell you what to do. I said, okay, wow, let's do it. So I ended up getting two customers. And then my mentor, like I said, on a pizza restaurant, I had this phenomenal idea. I said, listen, now this restaurant was like in the Beverly Hills of Atlanta. So the idea, clientele, you know, people who are wealthy, who can afford to pay a trainer, people who need a trainer, like, that was the clientele. So I said, listen, I really want to start this business. Can I put and design a really nice flyer put on this pizza box? So when these pizza boxes go delivery and they're in the houses of people eating and they ate too much pizza and they're sitting there like, dang, I need to work out. I need to work out tomorrow because I overate where they'll see my flight. And he said, yes, you can do that. He supported me. And within about a week, maybe two weeks, I had about 15 clients. And it just scaled up from there. Yeah. So at this point, it's 2012, going into 2013, and I had hit my first goal before. The million dollar goal was to hit six figures, so 100 grand. So I ended up hitting that within a year. And then I met this guy who was a client. I met a guy who. He owned this company where their business would supply products for trade shows. And they were running trade shows around teams to go to trade shows around the country where they were going to big fairs and festivals, places that would get, like, you know, 100,000 to a million people over the course of a month, like state fairs, and they would set up these booths. So he said, you know what? I love your work ethic, man. You're really good at training. Why don't you try to go and sell these products at these fairs? He said, you'll be really good. You're like a people's person. And at this time, remember, I had just made like a hundred grand like the previous year. So I was like, you know, I'm doing pretty well. I don't want to mess up what's working. So I denied him. I said no. I told him no. He said, you know what? Why don't you go try it? So I went and tried it. I lost money the first weekend. I lost money the second weekend. And then probably about my fourth show, I made a little money. About three months later, there's this big festival, Big festival. And I made like 30 grand in two weeks. And about. Probably about 18,000 of that was profit. And this whole time, I'm starting to see, like, wow, I didn't know how I was going to change my life at the point of fasting. But things are really changing. There's something to this intention, to the manifestation to take an action that really has the ability to change your life. So I said, you know what? I'm gonna go all in on this. So that was the end of 2014. By the end of 2015, I had hit my goal. Actually, it took about 13 months. Hit a goal of a million dollars, $1.1 million. And at the age of 30. And then that was three years ago. So that's three years ago. That's Victory did very well. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I did seven figures for a couple of years until. So one of the products that I was selling is we would take These orders for this. These animals, for these animals. So we'll set up at fairs and festivals, there's specific animal that we would actually sell and fulfill orders on. They'll go into homes. So a couple of years ago, 2017, I became vegan. Became vegan. And my love of consciousness, it shifted. It was one thing to start, you know, loving other people like you love yourself, and. But then it was another level when you realize, man, we're all connected. Like, man, I'm as connecting a part of you as you are to me, but not just as people like animals and trees, it's all one life force. And as we're able to respect and love each other to a higher level, guess what? That's when things start to shift, and that's when things have to change or start to change. But we can't change anything by going out in the world and changing it. We first have to start changing ourselves. So I remember there's a point in time where I was selling the animals, and I just looked at it, the animal, and I realized that, man, I don't want to do this anymore. I don't care how much money it is, because I know a lot of times these animals go into homes and the people don't take care of them. And I don't want to start or continue to make money off of a living thing looking at it just as a product, looking at it like a water bottle, where if, you know, a water bottle gets damaged or something, you just, hey, well, that's a loss. And you throw it away. Whereas, like the animals, they're these little animals, like hamsters. If it died, we'll just throw it in the garbage. And all of a sudden, after making money for three years, I realized that, you know what? These animals have a consciousness. Like, I have a consciousness, and I don't feel comfortable anymore just making money off of. Off of that business as well as now. I want to be able to create impact. I want to be able to help change people's lives. Because the greatest thing that I've had up until this point was learning what faith is, was learning what manifestation is, and learning how to change myself. It'll be so many times where I would be grateful for something and I'll be meditating and I'll just start crying. And I didn't realize why, but afterwards, I realized I was having these memories come up of poverty. I was having these memories come up when I didn't have. And I was really starting to rid myself of that trauma, rid myself of Those things to create new space for new opportunities. But within that, I remember times where I wasn't as kind to people or I let people down or I was mean, these other things. And I realized, you know what? I don't want to be like that anymore. And I'm sure you've had these moments too, where you realize that, man, the reason why I did certain things was because I just didn't know. Like, I really didn't know a better way. So as I'm going through all this, I came to a point. It's like, if I can help people, if I can live my life a certain way, where I can help people evolve and at least ask questions, because now I'm doing things a little different that can lead them to starting to discover for themselves. And I have to do that because it changed my life. And I wanted to be able to give that to other people.
I love that. That's so beautiful. And like, it's amazing transformation from kind of chasing things that, you know, you felt was, like, what you measured as success and what you want to really becoming more clear and aligned in that. And, you know, I always say, like, when we. When people are struggling or they're mean or they're hurtful, like, it's. It's a limited capacity, right? It's like, yes, they've only cultivated so much capacity, and it doesn't make it okay. We don't get a blank check to be assholes, right? But it allows us to have like a little.
Yes, yes, right?
Like a little bit more empathy and understanding. Like, if somebody's harboring hate, that hate lives within them, right? We can't 100 something that we don't have. And what I hear you talking about is like just this physical and emotional purging, right? And just of what we don't need in all these layers so that we can just connect. We are not spewing, like, baggage. You know, it's just this soul to soul, spirit to spirit connection.
100%. Yes. Yes. And I was going to say this too, because throughout this, throughout my journey, one thing that really started helping me is, man, it'll be times I would cry like I'm a grown man, right? And I would cry just because, number one, I'm seeing where, you know, how far I have come. But also my eyesight and my vision was able to start expanding so I can see the real possibilities of where I can go. And I would cry to shed. And I remember sometimes I would just be driving, I would listen to a book on tape, like, the power of now or something like that. And then I would hear something, and, like, my spirit would resonate with it, and it would be something that I had not heard about. Just, like, I'm sure there's times there's things that you hadn't heard before, but you just know that, wow, that's real. That really is the real way, how things are. And I would just be driving, then I would just be. I'll scream, like, yes. Or relief. And in those moments now I'm able to realize that I was really letting things out and letting things go. And I think that especially for men. And that's why I honor and I love people like yourself who really are committed to helping people heal and grow and to share your story, because especially everyone, but especially as men, we have this ideology that we have to be strong and tough all the time. And even if we're by ourselves and we cry or something like that, it's a weak moment. Well, really, it was me being able to allow myself that freedom to start creating space for me to actually heal. So I want to honor you for the work that you're doing, and I just really appreciate it because it's changed my life, and now you are a voice to get that out to the people.
Oh, thank you. I appreciate that. And I think, you know, I'm so glad you touched on that, that there's this gender stereotypes that, you know, men shouldn't cry. And, you know, if women do, they're like. They're maybe too emotional or needy or whatever it is. And, like, I just. Crying is actually this beautiful processing of energy and emotion. It's releasing. It's an expression of love or fear or hurt, but it's. It's releasing. And, you know, we as a society, I think, need to find more ways to release. I tell people, go to the batting cage. Like, cry, like, go boxing. Like, do what you got to do, but, like, move this energy because it gets stagnant and it just. It just depletes us.
Yes. Not only does it plead us, but it will wear our body down. It will wear our mind down. It'll, like you said, deplete our energy levels. And those conversations need to be had, that there's healthy ways to get the energy out. And most times, people, Men, try to bottle up and be tough. But what even me talking to a lot of women, where it's a lot of women who feel like they have to be strong. I need to be strong for my family or I need to be strong. I Don't want to let someone see me cry. When, like you said, that actually is a gift for us to be able to let that energy out. So then we can start with a replenishing of the energy 100%.
I'm so excited to dive more into the actual fasting work that you do in that part of your journey. But before we get there, you hit on something that was really powerful. You talked about the need to spend some alone time, to be alone. And I think that stillness. And it's interesting. It's like, I think one of the biggest struggles I see is people don't want to sit still, and they don't want to let that emotion come up, come up. Right. That. And that transpires in stillness. And so for the person who's listening, who has a hard time with meditation, who has a hard time with manifestation, who has a hard time being still over busying themselves and constantly in social media, this, this, or that, how would you, you know, encourage or what. What message do you want to share with them in terms of, you know, beginning to cultivate a practice of stillness?
You just. You really just have to make yourself do it. The whole thing is to come up with a strategy, come up with a plan with the intention to change whatever area. Because so many people I know, and I'm sure you come across who, man, my mind is too busy. I can't focus when I meditate. But how I started. And mind you, I didn't have social media and we didn't have social media to see memes every day or it wasn't talked about as much and people put out as much content. I just saw that meditation was something that people say, change your life. And I wanted to try it. So what I would do is 15 minutes I put on a timer. And I don't care if I had the urge to go to the bathroom or my mind was. I would sit there, and eventually my mind starts to actually clear. Because what we're doing is we're retraining ourselves. So you have to go through the trying times, or you have to go through the struggle to get to that other side.
Yeah.
So what I would say is, set a time, and regardless of if your mind can't be still, stick with that time every single day, and then you will work through it. And guided meditation is very helpful for a person, but the best thing is to be consistent and start retraining yourself.
Yeah, I love that. And even if it's like just a few minutes. Right. And building up to it and Getting that practice in there, it really does get easier. I mean, I had a really hard time with it, and it's something now I crave and look forward to, you know, like, every day. But that just comes with practice, so I'm so glad that you shared that.
I do want to give a tip.
Yes, please.
I want to give a tip to people. A lot of times we get up in the morning. So many people, they get up in the morning, they have their routine, whether they shower or whether they drink coffee first or whatever. But meditation is that time where we're able to connect with the subconscious. So what I find is try to be able to do it before you drink that coffee. Because the thing is, coffee is going to speed up our mind, speed up our thoughts, make us think about all the things that have to get done. So if we can do it beforehand, that really is a major key that is very helpful versus doing it afterwards. And then your heart rate, everything is sped up. It's kind of working against yourself.
And for the listeners who follow my gut health coaching, that would be having it before your celery juice and then before your coffee. Yeah, get your. Get your meditation in before your celery juice, before your coffee, whatever it is. I love that. So powerful. And it's just, it's aligning your energy right, too, for the day. Now you do so much, and obviously. So my podcast, Grief Guts and Green Smoothies. I started studying gut health after I lost my daughter Leigh into a sick gut. I didn't. I didn't know what gut health was. I had no idea. Right. To me, health was, yes, calories in versus calories out. I wouldn't have the banana because it was high in sugar, but I would have the fat free frozen yogurt. Right. And so backwards. Right. So backwards. But the common understanding, I think, in our society of health. So after losing Leighton, I really changed all that. And I do a lot of intermittent fasting.
Yes.
Yeah, that's. It's pretty much my daily routine. Do a lot of juicing and teaching, coach a lot of that. But you're. You've gone so much further and deeper, and I would love for you to kind of share your knowledge around fasting and how that works, how it's different than depriving your body of calories or trying to, you know, fit into your jeans or look in a bathing suit. Like, it's so much deeper than that.
100%. 100%. Let's rewind in my story and talk about this three day fast. So after when I did my first three day fast afterwards, one of the things that I wanted to do is I wanted to do some work in TV and film. So I had an idea for that and I ended up meeting the producer. Producer. So that was able to move me along until I started fitness company. So the thing is, at the end of that fast, two things happened. Number one, I felt super empowered because I had just went three days without eating. What? Like previous, before that, I would have thought that was impossible. So I felt empowered because I accomplished the goal. And number two, I had that Eureka idea. But all I knew was it was faith, it was manifestation. I had no idea of the science, what really happens in the body, and why those things are, how they become possible. So years later, it wasn't until the last three years that I really started studying the science of fasting. So when we limit ourselves to science, they don't know 100% what is the exact calorie count, but on average, about 30 calories. Below 30 calories in a day. As long as it's not sugar, where it messes up your glucose levels to break your fast. But as long as we limit ourselves of eating or go without eating, then our body goes into a fasting state. And what that is is our digestive system. Gut health is able to actually take a break. And it takes so much energy to digest food that it depletes energy from our thinking capacity. Energy to move and to, you know, work out and to be physical. So what happens is when that takes a break, the energy is able to reroute from the digestive system and it's able to go to the brain. So people think that fasting is something new, but it's something we've practiced since the inception of being humans. Because what would happen is we're in our hunter gatherer days. It'll be times where we wouldn't have food, where maybe we would have to go and go to other villages to gather or to barter or to trade. So our bodies automatically goes into this hyper alert, alert mode. Like, wow, something's not right. I need to find some food so all this energy is able to reroute. So years ago, when I thought I had this Eureka idea, I really did. But the energy was able to expand and my awareness was able to grow and open up so that I can even realize possibilities that were in front of us, in front of me. But when we're so boggled down with so much food and toxicity, there's a lot of possibilities that we're not Even open to. What I like to tell people is if there's a problem how the universe works, especially since we live in a dualistic system, you know, we're going to unity consciousness. But right now it's like masculine feminine energies. If there is a negative that arises, there's also a positive. But it's up to us to train ourselves to, to see the negative. If that's what presents itself, acknowledge it. But to also know that I'm not going to focus on this. I'm going to find that solution because it simultaneously exists. So it's all about retraining your brain. So going through that process and learning these things. I also learned that man fasting is one of the only ways that can heal our body because we have all these cells that have been had too much toxicity and they're damaged. But when our body takes a break, it actually is going to reroute energy to our brain. And it's also going to focus on the cells in our body that have been damaged because it has all this extra energy. Have you ever, you know, maybe take a vac, taking a vacation, and you're off for a couple of days, and then you realize, like, okay, I've already went out, I've had fun. What else can I do? And you say, you know what, I'm going to clean the house, I'm going to reorganize my closet, I'm going to tidy up. And yes, that's what our body does. So it goes and it looks for cells that aren't operating at 100%. We may have cells that are operating at 50%, 60%, 50%, and it's going to go ahead and the process called autophagy. And it's called autophagy, which is a recycling of cell parts. So all the active good parts of that cell is going to keep and all the bad ones is going to detox and get rid of. So we're actually renewing our cells, revitalizing ourselves. And that process is heightened through the process of fasting. So not only are we healing, not only are we able to open up our brain and our capacity to be able to see and receive more, but we're also able to start getting more in tune with self and open up our superpowers. And when I started unlocking these superpowers, I was like, you know what? I have to make this something regular. Because my sixth sense, intuition, all of these things started to open up. And that for me was like, wow. I realized we have so much more potential than we're told and even more potential than we even know. But it's our job to, number one, discover that and then number two, unlock it. And how far we get in the process is up to us. But they're secrets and fasting definitely is one of them.
I love it and share it. Right? Unlock it and then share it. And yes, I love that. I love that so much. And you know, in healing my own gut, you know, I, you know, I was taking acne medication, I was bloated, I struggled with weight. I, you know, was wearing makeup because my skin was so bad. And like I haven't taken a pill, like not even an Advil in four years, you know, and it's like, wow, you know, and so it's just like we as American, I'm so glad that you are doing this work because we look to fix the symptom, not the root cause.
Yes, 100%.
And so many of the symptoms that people are struggling with, like go have another coffee because they're tired or try a bad diet because they're not digesting properly, or go buy this expensive skin cream because their skin is acting out. Actually it's just their body putting flags up, saying, hello, attend to me 100%.
And I'm glad you said that because that's something so phenomenal that a lot of people don't realize is that our body is so phenomenally designed that not only does it have the ability to self heal, but it communicates to us. Just like your car, when you drive in your car and that check engine light comes on or the oil needs to be changed, it doesn't speak to you in verbal words or communication. It pops up with a red flag, right? So our body has these red flags. Like we'll get a pimple in a certain area and it will let us know that, man, maybe our kidneys aren't functioning right or maybe we need to drink more water. Or when our body starts to actually break down and we may get rashes or something somewhere our body is trying to tell us, hey, something's not right, pay attention to this. Because we want this to be able to be adjusted and we have to be in tune and start learning the signs of our own body. Isn't that crazy to realize we don't even know when our body is talking to us? We just, like you said, try to put some cream on it or try to put makeup on it. When our body is like, hey, if you just pay a little attention to me, we're going to self correct, we're going to self heal.
Yeah, I got you. Yeah. You know, one of the biggest mistakes I see around fasting and you know, I want to to share with everyone how they can go deeper in fasting with you. But I'm curious as to if you see this mistake or something else common is that people say, all right, I'm going to start a juice cleanse or I'm going to do fasting, whatever type of level they want to go into or intermittent fasting, but they'll eat fried chicken and pizza and burgers and all this stuff leading up to it because then they're fasting and that can really, really mess up your body in my experience.
100%.
Yeah. So I'm curious as to like if you see that and if you see any other kind of major like no no's around fasting.
Yes, for sure. So yes. So a lot of people feel we have this mentality of just like you said, well, I'm going to fast, I know I'll lose the weight and my body's going to start healing itself so I'm going to eat all the stuff that I wouldn't normally eat. But all that does is it clogs up your system and as you start getting into that fast, your body is working extra hard to get rid of that. So you're not even going to get all of the results that you want because you had a clogged up, an extra clogged up system to begin with. So major. No, no. And then coming off the fast. So our healing process and how we live, we want to live by a strategy. So I tell people all the time, so if you're like me personally, I don't eat bread. That's just something I don't eat. But I know my body enough where if I eat bread for one or two days, I know that it's going to take two to three days for it to cycle out of my system and for me to go back to feeling like I would. So sometimes I will allow myself that because I know my body. But we have to start getting in tune enough so that we can know if brownies are your thing, then you can have brownies sometimes. But you need to know how your body's going to respond and how long it takes to get back. So then you're choosing to eat the brownie versus choosing, crashing versus like oh man, I just had the craving and I ate a whole box. No, allow yourself that if you want to and then that way you're not going to crash or you're not going to overindulge. So I think we have to kind of get into the mentality of taking action versus reacting.
I love that. One of the things I coach and I'm sure you dive into too, is like, understanding the value. Like, I have like a value chart. Like, what value are you eating for pleasure? Is it for comfort? Is it for nourishment? Is it for healing? And, you know, if we're constantly eating for pleasure or comfort, well, then we have to understand what the ramifications that are going to look like. Right. So we're balance. And I always say it's like, it's just. So glad you brought that up. It's so powerful.
Yes. When we're aware, we're not going to feel guilty about it, because us, as humans, the greatest thing that we can do is to. To rise into personal power, and that's being able to control ourselves and to manifest the things that we desire and to be able to move forward and not have to keep going in circles. But we can't manifest those things if we don't know ourselves. First to know, like you said, when I indulge in this brownie, is it because I just enjoy it? And if that is, that's okay, that's fine. That is a right I have. Right. Or is it because every time I get upset, I have to eat some ice cream and because that's the only way I can deal with it. Right. We have to know why we do things and then we choose it versus react.
I love that. So powerful. And so you've really created some different ways for people to go deeper in this entire experience. Right. You know, we talked about, you know, becoming aware, manifesting, tapping into it, unlocking it, and then now sharing it, which is what you're doing.
Yes, 100%.
How are you sharing it? Like, I want to hear more about this.
All right. So last. And I want to be 100% transparent. I've had some phenomenal wins. Right. But I've also had some. I don't call them losses, but I've had some really big lessons, some really big kind of slap you in the face. Like, yeah, you got caught up because you're doing so well. So well, but you still have work to do. Right. So I've had a lot of those moments. So last year was one of those moments. Had made a lot of money, had invested in business. Things slowed down. It was taking a long time to kind of manifest away. So I took some losses in. So me, I had to go back to what I knew and what was that thing that I knew that it was fasting, right? So I went back and I said, you know what, I fasted before because I wanted some financial opportunities and I wanted to do, discovered my purpose. Now I'm fasting because I know what I want to do with finances and I know how I want to be able to impact and change the world. One of the things with fasting for me that really opened up my awareness was to people who are really hungry. I remember I was on a seven day fast and I was walking down, I had an apartment that was two levels. So I was walking down the steps and I was walking past the cabinet. It was probably day four and I was like, you know what, man, I'm so hungry and I can just break my fast right now and just get something out the cabinet. And then this thought popped up in my head. He said, yeah, you can do that. But there's so many people who are hungry and they don't have any food just to eat. And it just dawned on me, like, wow, at any moment I can open up the fridge and eat, but there's kids waking up every single day and they're crying because they don't know how they're going to eat and they're only six years old or four years old. So it started cultivating a desire in me to really be able to want to approach and to face this world hunger issue. Because like I said, if there's a problem, there's also a solution. And I think that a lot of times these things like world hunger and even global warming or saving the planet, it's not enough of us yet who have actually started to take action. We're starting to talk about it, but what are we actually doing? And then as a collective organizing and strategizing to really take action. So one of the things for me is world hunger and to be able to finance some of these things and bring other business people involved in these things. So last year I said, you know what, this is something really big that I want to start getting answers for as well as I want to start cultivating channels and being connected to people who can help with these solutions. So I said, you know what, I'm going to go on a 40 day fast. If a three day fast would change my life then man, a 40 day, if I do well, I'm going to come out with some power. That's what happened. I went on this 40 day fast and I split it up. The first 21 days was just fruit juice. The next seven days was water and lemon juice. The master cleanse. The next seven days was just water. And the last seven days was no food, no water. I wanted to tackle every different type of fast so I can honestly talk about it. And then the last 14 days I said, wow, I'm doing this. But man, they wrote about Jesus when he did it and they wrote about these other people. I really want people to be able to really see that I was able to do it. So I said, you know what? I'm a vlog. So like the last 14 days I recorded it, stepped on the scale every day, went through the journey. And because I got this idea, I said, man, this fasting changed my life. I started researching people like Stephen Ferris, so many people in Silicon Valley who are now fasting as a team, and they're starting to get these breakthrough ideas and change their businesses. I said, I want to be able to show people and then encourage people in the process. So I got the idea and I said, you know what, I'm going to start doing these group fasts and leading people through this transformation. So to answer your question, I know that was a long answer, but to answer your question, once a month, and this month is really the kickoff, I lead people, we do a seven day intensive and what it involves is education. On the first day, I meet with them via Zoom. Three times out of the seven days, first day is education, teaching them how to go through their desires for the fast manifestation, write those things out. The third day, we actually go over all those things. And four, five and six, we go on a day. Four, five and six, we go on a three day fast is monitored, it's supervised. I give them three different fasting options. Day seven, we come back, we speak on it. So every month I'll be leading a group of people and start helping them develop this tool. Because these things are tools to put in our toolkit. Whereas, like me last year, there were so many things, I needed answers and clarity. I didn't feel lost. I just feel compelled to go and utilize a tool that I knew would work. So once we develop these tools, even if we don't have all the answers, we have resources. Now we've been trained to have these resources to go get the answers. So I do that once a month. And if you're interested, you can plug in via Instagram, DME or whatever and we'll get you involved.
I love that. And we're gonna have so many people interested. I'm interested. Where can they find Instagram?
So Instagram is pharaoh333. So p h a a r a o h333 on Instagram. And I'm very active as me personally, so if you DM me, you know, reach out and I'll get back in contact with you as well as man, I love. I have a heart. So once a week, I do actually take calls with people. Maybe they have a question. I personally feel your energy and connect that way. Really have a heart for people.
I love that so much and I'm just so grateful that you, you know, and I think it's. It's similar to what I'm doing and what you're doing and what we see so many people doing. It's like when you have experiences and you hit those moments that feel like rock bottom, but you find your way out and you keep going. And then you cultivate a skill set, right? Or some gift or some tools that then you can share with other people. And it completely transforms that quote, unquote, rock bottom. Right? Or those, like you said, challenges. And I don't believe in failures either. I don't believe in, you know, it's redirection, it's feedback, it's. It's lessons to be learned. It's all. Yes, it's evolving and elevating. Right? It's evolving and elevating. And it's just such an amazing example what you're doing and taking other people to now elevate in their own lives. So thank you. So in terms of, you know, making sure people can get in touch with you, you've got you on Instagram, Is there anywhere else that you want them to be able to find you or get in touch or is Instagram the place to be?
I would say Instagram is the place. I do have YouTube channel, it's HeilShow. But Instagram, you know how, like, we all have our favorite social media platform? So, like, Instagram, if you reach out, I'm gonna see it or I'm gonna reach back out within a couple of hours. So it's the fastest way to really get in contact with me.
I love it. Yeah, that's where I hang too. I haven't gotten into the TikTok, I don't know, Snapchat. I'm a. Instagram's where I like to hang too. It's my spot. So before we say goodbye to this amazing audience, you know, you have so much wisdom. Is there any, like, final message or just kind of words of wisdom you give to someone who might be struggling right now, who might be grieving, who might be feeling like, I don't know if I can be happy again, because that's a feeling I know I had. And some people like you really helped me through, so I'd love to offer them that gift.
Awesome. What I would say is, number one, I love the whole concept behind your show because one of the things I really tell people is that our pain is our gift. Right. I would have never tapped into fasting. And the fasting led me to start eating better, it led me to start wanting to work out, it led me to start being connected to other spiritual people who gave me a opportunities. So that was a door for me. But I would have never tapped into it if I had not been jobless, if I had not been at this moment where I didn't have any clarity. So I really love the concept of your show because it really illustrates the point that our pain is a gift, so we should start looking at it differently. And one of the greatest things that I learned is when things start feeling painful like that, to really ask the universe, what lesson in this should I be learning or what lesson do I need to master so that I can move through this? And a lot of times we get stuck because we don't know how to ask the right questions. We just automatically start thinking about all of the wrong or this happened because of X, Y and Z. Every situation has a lesson, and it's after we learn that lesson or that experience or even embrace it that we're able to move through. So that was one thing that really changed my life. Every time something's uncomfortable, I ask what lesson is. And I'm telling you, you're going to start moving through things a lot faster. But not only that, getting these nuggets of wisdom so that you don't have to repeat those things.
So amazing. Thank you so much. What a beautiful way, you know, to just leave everyone listening with just a reminder of what's so important. And, you know, there are so many things out of our control, but choosing to learn our control and. And it's really, you know, it's our. Our privilege to remember that.
So thank you 100%. 100%.
