This episode is sponsored in part by Armadillo Tech. Looking for a cool phone case. Gotta be tough, right? How about drop proof? Well, look no further because these guys make some pretty hardcore cases for both iPhone and Samsung. Just ask our resident race car driver what he thinks. Plus they're from Texas and they donate a portion of their profits to unicef. So even more reason to check them out in the link below.
Let's get started with the show.
This.
What are you doing?
What do you mean? Well, this is the 2020 BMW X3M. So what are you doing here?
So this is the 2019 Giulia Quadrifoglio.
But we care about this.
It's not even the competition model.
So it still does a quarter mile and 11.9 at 116.
So this does 12 flat at 120.
What's your 0?
60.
3.8, 3.5. Non competition.
So you think you can beat me in a race? Of course.
40 degrees outside, four wheel drive.
All right, so you know what? We're going to go from a 30 roll. Is that cool? 30 roll. I'm down 30 to 130 on this airstrip over here and see who takes the cake.
Ready?
All right, let's go.
But since we don't have the budget for flag girls and swimsuits, I guess we're just gonna have to settle for the next best thing. Let's get started.
Looks like you cheated because you definitely jumped.
So we can go again really fast and Alex is cool with it.
We have to roll. We can't do a dig.
You know that dig is not like it's not even possible in this thing. If it makes your heart like happy, you want to do a lower roll like a 20 roll. Or you can be in first and I'll still be in second.
Quarter mile. Fine. Let's give that a try.
All right, so 20 rolling in.
Sorry, I don't have any Corona.
That's okay, man. I don't always race X3M's but when I do, I like to win.
Well, stay thirsty, my friend.
I will.
But wasn't fair though, because I was in an SUV and you were technically in what I would consider a super sedan.
I can see where people would be a little upset about that. To be fair, we talked about this in the beginning, how both cars pretty much put down the same times on paper. Actually, the X3 is a little bit faster than 0 to 60, right?
Yes, it is.
What does this car do? 0 60.
This does 060 in four seconds.
See, that's my biggest pet peeve. I really dislike when people just come back to this core argument about how this car does zero, 60 in this. This car does zero, 60 in that. But, like, what happens after 60, right?
And this race literally told us what happens after 60. Because I kinda lost. It wasn't that bad, but, like, I wanted to win, but I expected it to lose.
Ish. It was like four car lengths.
I don't know what you were looking at, but it was like 2 1/2 ish.
Objects in the mirror are not closer than they seem.
That's.
You gotta get your eyes checked. Because it was like two and a half lengths.
That's a racist joke, right?
I guess so.
