A short YouTube video (by Michael Chuang) comparing a 2020 Mercedes AMG GTR to a Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 in roll-race contexts. The hosts summarize each cars engine and official test numbers (horsepower, 40-100 and 60-130 times), then present data-logger 60-130 runs showing the AMG GTR consistently edging the Huracan by ~0.2 seconds. The video concludes both cars are excellent, with the AMG favored in roll racing.

So a few weeks ago we did a bunch of 3x3 races with a cool garden variety of supercars. We ended up with a very unexpected final round. So I figured we'd give you a more run of the mill showdown today. The fancy new 2020 Mercedes AMG GTR against the tried and true Lamborghini Huracan. Quasi Italian mid engine sexiness against German front engine brains and brawn. Let's take a closer look at our two fighters. On one side of the ring we have the Lamborghini Huracan LP610 4. I've always considered it sort of a benchmark of the modern entry level supercar. Aggressive looking relatively quick, and with the 5.2 liter high revving V10 sitting right behind the cabin, it's the quintessential definition of your everyday exotic. With 602 horsepower, it ran our 4100 test in 4.95 and did 60130 in 7.91. Plus it'll sound pretty damn good doing it. The 2020 Mercedes AMG GTR. One hell of a car though. Using a twin turbo 4 liter V8, it only makes 577 horsepower, but somehow.
It'S able to do the quarter mile.
At over 130 miles per hour. Aggressive active arrow, long sleek hood line, the Panamericana grill. It's definitely got the hallmarks of a classic front engine supercar. And if you add in some carbon ceramics in the xeno blue Magno factory color, you have a car that's both form and function. It doesn't sound quite as exotic as the Lambo, but it ran R40.100 in 4.97 and R60 130 in 7.866. So based on that info, it's going to be a pretty close race. Let's get this party started. It's. It's.
Those are some pretty solid runs, huh? Well, as I mentioned the beginning of the video, both these cars put down almost identical 40 to 160 to 130 times. So assuming equal drivers, it basically comes down to who gets to jump first or which car has more high end. And we know that the AMG GTR has a tremendous amount of high end, but then again, so this is a 5.2 in the Huracan. Anyway, we need to pick a winner, so let's take a look at the numbers from the data loggers that we had during the races. The Huracan put down 6 hit a 130 times of 8.19, 8.08 and 8.01 while the AMG GTR put down 7.98, while 7.90 and 7.81. So it looks like the Mercedes is about 210 faster all around, and that kind of reinforces what we saw during the runs where the AMG would slowly creep ahead. But honestly, I felt like the Lambo held on pretty well and it actually reminds me a lot of that other race we did where I raced the Lambo against my old automatic C7Z and you know, I kind of just slowly pulled ahead. So in theory, I feel like this AMG GTR might be neck and neck with that car. You know, it would have been nice to do a dig, and honestly, I feel like the Lambo would have some home field advantage here with the all wheel drive system. But beggars can't be choosers. At least we know that the AMG GTR is king in the roll racing arena.
At the end of the day, both.
Pretty badass cars and I won't complain.
If you handed me the keys to either.
Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed the racing and I'll catch you on the.
