So we're gonna try something a little different today. Yes, it's about the RS6 again but it won't be in our usual style. Normally we do really cinematic, kind of scripted, you know, dramatic looking car videos. But I've been playing with this idea where I kind of wanted switch it up a little bit and this is what I call track day TV Director's cup. And what it is, it's going to be a more casual, more relaxed, almost a vlog ish in a way, but not really. It's not going to be scripted. I'm just going to blurt out how whatever I feel, obviously I'm going to chop stuff up here and there but you know, it'll be a little bit more raw, a little bit more. It's not going to take over the normal programming which you know, the channel is still going to circle around this cinematic car content kind of feel. But I do want to at some point start introducing two episodes a week. The goal is to do two episodes a week when I hit 100,000 subscribers. You know, Monday would be the other day that I release the double episode, the second episode rather. So it would be a Monday, Thursday kind of scheduling program. But now today what I'm doing is I'm taking the RS6 out for a road trip. We're going from Marbella to. Where is it honey? Cordoba. We're going to Cordoba and it's about two hour drive. Should be really scenic. I'm hoping to get some really cool shots along the way, find some highway stretches where I can just let loose. So this is the 2018 Audi RS6 Avant. But it's not just any RS6, it's the RS6 Performance. And what that means, it's got 605 European brake horsepower and 553 pound feet of torque. 553 is right there with what the M850 had, the one that I drove the other day. But 605 brake horsepower, that's more than a Lamborghini Huracan. You know, this is an Avant. So what that means is it's got five seats, all wheel drive and this gigantic trunk that I can fit both my dogs in. I don't know why this car is not sold in the US because it's just this is like the perfect car for like a grown man who just needs to smoke everybody on his way to work or anywhere. Yeah. One of the things that kind of annoys me though is that so on the actual gear selector. I'm used to BMWs where if you push up, that's downshift and you pull down, that's upshift. But it's reversed in an Audi. So if I put this over to like manually select the gears up is upshift, which, I mean, that makes sense in a way, but I guess, I don't know, like, I'm just used to the other way around. So I find it annoying when I throw into that mode. So I just rather just use these paddles and you know how I always rag on Audi paddles. You know, these are actually aren't that bad. These are probably the nicest Audi paddles I've ever seen. They're still plastic. They just feel, you know, just they, they took it up a notch from their usual Volkswagen Jetta style paddles and they put this little silver trim and they made them a little bigger, but, you know, better. It's, it's almost acceptable. But am I. I don't know, I feel like maybe not still kind of in a car that costs over a hundred thousand dollars on, you know, I expect like big fancy metal paddles. So. Another thing that kind of bothers me is that I'm used to cars now having this sport mode button or like, you know, a button for sport mode. And this car, you have to kind of tap this thing. I guess you have the drive select here. Oh, actually that. Oh, I take that back. I didn't realize. There's this drive select button right here. I thought I have to go into car like and just press car and rotate into sport mode, which is super annoying because by the time I do that, I've already lost the race. Now we're in dynamic mode, which means we can go fast like that. Oh my God, it's annoying. You know, you can definitely go on a road trip with this thing. It's not, it's not gonn kill your spine. The seats are comfortable, right? What do you think? Yes, just not as comfortable as the. This is like the perfect road trip car. Perfect grand touring car. And can it have fun? But can it have fun? Yeah, it can have fun. It's, it's certainly a really fun car. Don't look like you're having a good time. All right, well, we're going put this into dynamic mode then. If you're not having a good time. Having a good time yet? I don't know. I just started. Oh, oh, here's another tunnel, I think. Oh, here's a tunnel for tunnels. You ready for this one? Roll it. All right. Oh, my good. It's fast. It Sounds great too. Like the BMW we drove, it was just, you know, the V8 sounded good. Don't get me wrong, it was throaty and it was nice. But this just sounds mean. It's like, oh, I just want to rip your face off your face. Those downshift crackles. I love it. So they have all these cool cars in Spain. I feel like the whole avant estate wagon thing or five door, whatever they call it, it's a really big thing. I don't see many sedans. Pretty much everything we've seen so far is just these kind of hashback five door looking things. Right. I guess it's just, well, that's the thing in the US Like Ford is gonna stop selling their sedans soon or now even like they're canceling the production of all their sedans and just doing hatchbacks and crossovers. I feel like that's a trend that's, you know, in the automotive industry that's starting to kind of take place. But the, the RS7 is the same engine. It's the same 4 liter twin turbo V8. I'm starting to really like this estate wagon. Look. It's just something I, when I was, I guess watching Top Gear in my younger days and stuff like that, they used to have like these like C, you know, E63 estates or whatever and it's an RS6 estate. I was like, oh, that's an ugly car. What an ugly car. That's dumb. Why would you buy that? Just get the sedan. But no, when I see this in person and when I drive around in it, I'm just like, this car makes a lot of sense. It's probably the most sensible car I've driven so far on this channel. It's probably the best daily driver. You know what we should probably do is we should probably just buy this car and import it back to the United States or I don't know how, what we need to do, but this car needs to, I don't know, they have to make this car for the United States. It's, it's genius. It's great. It's amazing. What do you think, hun? Is this car fast? No. Let me drive it and I'll let you let you drive it. I wonder if people look at you here like, oh my God, that's a cool car. Or they're just like, what a hooligan. So it's this one VI D service, so. Right. I'm guessing. What the hell is this place? It's awesome, y'. All. Is it always a road Course to the service station in Spain here. What the hell? Oh, it's. It's a service road. I'm an idiot. I think that's what this is via day service. You know how in the States we have a service road? Like, you know, we just kind of rides along the highway like this for emergency. I don't know what it's for, but, oh, my God, look at this road. Let's get the V box out. We just did the acceleration test here on what I thought was a service station. Because what ended up happening, I was like, okay, well, why don't we just pull off, go to like a little rest area, you know, remount cameras, whatever, do stuff. And I read via de service. And I was like, oh, service station, great. And I pull in, I'm like, wait a minute. Via road. Service, Service road. So we found something better. We found this like four mile long straightaway of a service road that's perfectly flat. And we just ran our six out of 130s here and wow, this was. That was fun. I was just like this. So looking at the times now, I mean, you've already probably watched the, the actual episode where I, you know, these times are. This whole segment is filmed. But looking at the times just on the V box, looks like Sport Auto is definitely faster than full manual. Like, full manual just gave me horrendously slow times. I kept hitting the limiter. Sometimes I think it's because the response is not perfect. It's not like a dual clutch where it's just like bam, bam, bam. You have to kind of pre engage the shift before the redline so it doesn't slam into the limiter. Oh, traffic circle. These are the best. This is where you can test the handling of the car around the traffic circle. It's like a slalom. That's what they call them. I'm just gonna do the slalom now. So, yeah, I mean, there's roll. There's definitely a lot of body roll in this car, but it's pretty well behaved, like, you know, so I think at this point I'll start sliding and then, whoa. That's all our cameras. Oh. So we made our way to Cordoba. I didn't really get to cover everything I wanted to, but this was more of a trial and error episode. You know, I've driven quite a few cars by now, and I get a lot of seat time in most of them. Driving for about eight to 10 hours each day and rigging cameras constantly, you can quickly get tired of it. No matter how exciting the car is. But this Audi RS6 is just one car I did not want to return. Maybe it's the scenery, being on vacation or the sangrias, but it's pretty much the perfect all around machine. Comfortable, fast, versatile and classy. I feel like this is the ultimate cool dad in the beam. My only regret on this trip is not being able to have the car for longer.
