YouTube video (Supercar Showdown) comparing a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and a McLaren 720S in a quarter-mile drag race at Adco Dragway, southern New Jersey. The narrator reports vehicle specs (SVJ: 759 bhp, 531 lb-ft, 3,850 lb curb weight; 720S: ~60 bhp less and ~600 lb lighter), measured quarter-mile times (SVJ 10.8s @133 mph; 720S 10.4s @140 mph), and altitude (DA ~1600 ft) with commentary on aerodynamic effects and value. The creator will publish separate acceleration runs from a 68130 database and invites viewer engagement/subscription.

There are some cars out there that are simply larger than life. The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. 759 brake horsepower, 531 pounds of torque, and a curb weight of 3,850. It currently holds the record for the fastest production car around the Nuremberg ring. But can it take down this England's finest? The McLaren 720s Roadster. 60 less horsepower, but also 600 pounds lighter. I know straight line stuff isn't what these guys are meant for. Let's just have some fun, shall we? So I'm here at Adco Dragway in southern New Jersey and we're going to do my least favorite thing, a quarter mile drag race. So without further ado, let's get started. Ram. So it looks like the McLaren got a little bit of a jump at the start, but honestly, I don't think it would have mattered. See, the SVJ did the quarter mile at 10.8 at 133 miles per hour. And the 720s did it in 10.4 at 140. Now that's a little bit slower than their magazine claims, but I did record the DA at 1600ft above sea level, so if you do the correction factor, they're pretty much right where they're supposed to be. Now, even though the Lambo does get the hit off the line, I still think the McLaren would reel them in at the end. Plus that gap would only get bigger as the speeds increase, because all those record setting aero bits on the SVJ would only slow it down in a straight line. If you handed me the keys to the other car, I would not complain at all. But it is pretty difficult to ignore just how hard that 720s pulled on the Lambo. And it's about half the price as well, so you could probably see where I'm going with this conversation. Anyway, over the course of the next few weeks, I'll be uploading individual acceleration runs of both cars from my 68130 database. So stay tuned for that. In the meantime, let me know which one you'd go for. The radical looking SVJ or that super fast 720s. And yes, the doors do go up. If this is your first time on the channel, be sure to watch some of my other stuff. I produce cinematic content for all sorts of performance cars, so if that's your jam, consider subscribing and ringing that bell icon for new episodes every Thursday. Thanks for watching.
