A YouTube review/test-drive of a 2016 Ford Focus RS that measures acceleration (notably a 40–100 mph pull) and compares the RS to competitors like the WRX, STI, Civic Type R and other performance cars. The hosts run a stock 40–100 mph test (result reported) and plan to fit a Cobb accessport with a dyno tune and downpipe to measure changes.

The 2016 Ford Focus RS. They don't make these anymore, right? No, unfortunately they don't. Stopped making them last year. That's too bad. You still have the stock tune? Yep. What is that, like 300 set of wheels? Just about. So what do you usually compete against then? Wrx, STI and the Civic Type R? What about like the BMW M2 or them baby AMGs? Those would probably be pretty good races. We should probably set one up sometime. Yeah, I'm down. So, John, you want to find out how fast your car is? Yeah, let's do it. Let's go. So we're gonna go and do a 40 to 100 pull on the stock tune. Don't really know what exactly to expect. It's the first time we're doing it. Might seem a little bit slow today just because it's raining out, it's humid. That doesn't really help with the performance of any car. But we're gonna find out what it does. All right, we're going to load up our trusty Cobb access port and we're going to put the dyno tune on there next, see what happens. Should be interesting. So John, how fast do you think your car is? I think it's the fastest on the list. Oh yeah? Yeah. Well, I think you'd be pretty disappointed then. Oh, well, I hope it's faster than the Abarth. Well, it's gotta be, right? We left a spot out for it. Yeah, you did. Alright, well, a stock Ford Focus RS does 40 to 100 in 9.88 seconds. Okay, so the tune of downpipe is two seconds faster. It's pretty impressive. Yeah. Anything faster than 10 seconds is a pretty fast car. You'd still get smoked by a Mustang GT though. Not if you were driving a Mustang. Alright, all jokes aside, the Focus RS is a seriously good value. If John didn't buy one, I probably would have. To me, it serves as a benchmark for the budget performance car. It's fast and it's practical. I can't ask for much more. Nam cares how its competitors would stack up.
