How Fast is the Hellcat SRT Challenger [707HP] | Acceleration Test Review

Previously on track day tv. Ooh, a hellcat. What's this? So you gonna go? I guess I have to. Right? Today we're gonna go and find out how fast the 707 horsepower Hellcat challenge. So let's make sure we have enough gas for this. This is the Immokalee regional airport in the wanna go fast half mile racing event. A lot of fancy cars here. We'll use our V box to verify speeds and collect the 40 to 160. 130 times. And without further ado, let's get this party started. As usual, first run's going to be in manual mode. All right, now let's try full auto. It's. Oh, those beautiful downshifts. And of course it had to go and rain on us. That's alright though. I got all the data I needed. The Hellcat is definitely quick. It exceeded my expectations in the half mile race. And even though it's so damn heavy and has a drag coefficient of a brick, it still is able to hit over 156 miles per hour. Now that's pretty impressive. For reference, a stock Z06 did around 152 to 153 miles per hour in that race. When I'm done here, I think I'm gonna go back and see how it stacks up on the fast list. The acceleration times were as I expected. The 40100 time was traction limited by the 275 wide rear tires. But the 707 horsepower Hellcat challenger was still able to do 40100 in 5.25 seconds and 60 to 130 and 8.11. So it looks like the jury's in. The Hellcat is slower than the C7Z06 in a race up to 130. But based on half mile trap speeds, it should start to reel it in after that. Honestly, this is close enough to be a driver's race so we should put that theory to the test. Stay tuned. And I'll have a C7Z06 to entertain that idea. If I had the chance, I'd buy a Hellcat if my wife let me. Actually, I buy a Hellcat. That's the biggest issue. Wide body, intake, pulley, tune slicks. Bam. That's one mean streetcar.
