Okay, so it's been a minute since.
We posted a video.
Well, maybe a little bit more than a minute, but I've been doing this thing where I take a few months off in the winter time from the channel because it's just too dang cold to shoot anything up here anyway, so might as well, right? But today we're gonna take a quick break from that vacation because today we need to take delivery of our brand new daily driver. Now some of you guys may remember that exactly two years ago we bought.
The new X6 M50 to serve as our family car.
And it was awesome. Quick for an suv, luxurious and full of tech. But we got a great deal in the buyback last fall, so we couldn't pass it up. Anyway, fast forward a couple of months and here we are. A shiny new toy has arrived. So let's go check her out. So real quick here, I just wanted to give a quick shout out to.
Eldar, who was my sales guy, and Porsche Mechanicsburg because they were able to hook me up with a custom order Taycan allocation. And at the time, Cross Turismo's were pretty hard to come by, so kudos to them. I also wanted to just say that the sales experience was really pleasant. You know, it was smooth, it was easy going. Ldar gave me updates pretty much every other day. And you know, our car actually came in two weeks earlier than it should have, which I guess is nice because it had just missed that ship that had all those Porsches on it that caught on fire at sea, which sucks. But I guess lucky for us, and I gotta say I. I'd probably buy another Porsche from these guys again if, you know, if they had a GT3RS allocation. Huh?
We'll see.
Okay, we'll see.
See. But yeah. Anyway, let's move on to the car.
So we usually get a new car every year or so, but this is the first time I had a delivery experience quite like this one. And it really made it feel special. By now you've probably figured out that we bought a 2022 Taycan Cross Turismo in Mamba green metallic. I don't know what compelled me to jump into an ev, but I feel like if it was one car that could sway me, it would be the Taycan. The first time I reviewed one, it blew me away far more than any Tesla or other electric car currently on the market. And we didn't want an ordinary Taycan either, since we see so many of those on the road already. It had to be a Cross, even if it meant that we couldn't get an allocation for a higher trim. The 4s would have been perfect, but no one in the country had an allocation at the time. According to most of my friends who work at Porsche Cross, Turismos will be pretty limited production, so that's cool too. I'm most excited because I finally got a wagon in a lineup, which I keep saying is a true tell of an automotive nerd. Some people might think it looks weird, but we love it. To me, it looks like Porsche's version of the Ferrari FF or GTC4Lusso. Okay, maybe only from certain angles, but the truth is, Porsche EVs may not be as fast as Tesla's, but they do live up to their slogan of Soul electrified driving. It is nowhere near as engaging as a combustion engine sports car, but it's fun enough to make you forget sometimes. Regardless, the Porsche racing DNA is weaved into the car perfectly.
Okay, well, I know this was more of like an easygoing episode and more.
Like a vlog update than anything else.
But I figured that, you know, getting a new car is definitely something we should share with you guys. So there it was. Anyway, we should hopefully be back up.
And running in the springtime and we'll.
Have a full blown in depth view of this car and all the other stuff that we've got planned. So stay tuned for that. In the meantime, gonna skedaddle and hope you enjoyed this video as always.
I'll catch you all in the next one. So I think we have to ask the most important question now, which is how do you activate launch control?
Sport plus mode.
Sport plus mode. All right, ready? Drive mode. There you go.
Okay.
Link on the brake all the way in.
I don't think we should trust.
No, no, but we should just spray.
It and then the leg all the way on the gas.
And then it should say it would act. It would just activate and then flat off. Okay, so there's no fancy traction.
No traction. Okay. We don't need to.
Okay, Sounds simple enough.
