This is a YouTube video titled "Part 3 Top personal branding tips" containing a talk or presentation recorded in November 2020. The speaker, Mike Richards, discusses personal branding strategies focusing on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, sharing anecdotes and advice on managing one's professional and personal online presence.
We're going to rattle through these things because again, I can see there's a few people desperate for a coffee or maybe something stronger. So we're going to go through these tips. First one, Facebook. But Mike, how is Facebook linked to my professional brand? Well, it's exactly that, your professional brand. Facebook is your personal brand and it's your personal life tagging. So I went to the interns party a couple of years ago where they welcomed speakers with the Windy City committee. And I was standing up there and was telling this guy about this young intern who just qualified. He was trying to actually look for jobs and actually as we were talking, said, Patrick, because that was his name. Patrick, can you do me a favour and get me a beer? So, yeah, because they're free. He was like that straight across. By the time he came back, I had my phone out. He said, patrick, how was Tijuana? He was like, what? And I said, this is a picture with him and his mates having a very good time. And I was saying, look Patrick, you need to turn off. He said, well, I have, I've done it. I said, but also tell your friends, because what actually happened? He said, well, how did you find that image? And I said, well, we've used a very little known search tool called Google. So basically if you don't, you don't actually own that info. You don't own that information, they do. So you need to be careful. We're going to get onto LinkedIn, but let's firstly do Twitter. Obviously a very popular with your current president and you can't block him. Oh no, sorry, he can't block you now. So you can say whatever you like about him as of today, it's his favorite. But be diplomatic on it. Imagine you tweet, you're a big fan of the Chicago Bulls or you hate the Bulls maybe, and you say, oh great, they lost.
